OC4J is a J2EE container that has the ability to run by itself since it has a protocol listener that can accept HTTP requests.
So that is basically what OC4J standalone is.
For the broader application server, OC4J is an integral component of it. It's the same set of bits that you get/use in the standalone case, except its configured slightly differently so that it works within the context of the application server -- which means it can be managed by OPMN, it accepts incoming client requests from OHS over AJP, etc.
If you install Oracle Application Server then yes, you'll get an OC4J instance.
If you just want a J2EE container to develop/test against then you can also use OC4J standalone.
Note that both variants are supported and can be used in production, so the choice is ultimately yours based on your requirements. The application sever installation has more support for things like integraton with the Oracle single-sign-on solution, out of the box support for ADF, etc.

I tried this method, and while it did get me the installer image, when I restored it to an external and tried to use it to restore a Late 2012 Mac Mini, I got the same "No" symbol I did with other ML installers.

You would need CS4 to be compatible with a 32-bit operating system. That being said we no longer have the trial of Premiere CS4 available for download. If you purchased CS5 or 5.5 or purchase CS6 there is an option to obtain a copy of Premiere and After Effects CS4 depending on which software package you purchased.

Do not worry about Linux drivers for your laptop. All needed drivers for most of the machines are on the Linux kernel. Most hardware are recognized by latest kernel. So all you have to do is install your distro and enjoy Linux.
The best way to check if all hardware are recognized is booting up a distro in live mode and test the hardware.
You can make a test with Linux Mint, and install their new and amazing DE called Cinnamon. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

You will still need your SN. As long as you registered, you can just add a tab in your browser and go to Adobe.com. In the upper right corner there should be a welcome with your name. Move to the small down arrow and select My Products and Services. That should give you your SN of the products that have been registered. Please make a backup of your download and SN for the future. If you had an upgrade version, you will also need the SN of the qualifying product.

ver. 10.7.3: 2.4 GHz core 2 Duo with 4 GB of DRAM.
I have three questions:
1. Where can I find the manual for my machine i.e. hardware manual and or consumer/connaisseur manual?
2. Does it have a zip media drive? I'm looking at the left side of the machine and I see small square shaped slot for a disk of this sort. I know this is a common type of media storage for cameras and would like to confirm that it is zip.
3. And while i'm at it, could you remind me of the uses of the two ports advancing towards the back of the computer next to the USB inputs.
PS: I'm also interested in any technical information concerning Apple hardware and if you could direct me to the appropriate forums I would appreciate it.

Please feel free to enhance the dialog of this post in the framework of the corporate schema vs. individual and change the estimations, exp: 2 -200, to fit a realistic scenario of what i'm trying to evoke here.
I'll start of with
MB range = 4 GB Lexar standard USB bought at Dwain Reed (note: this is just a starting point to provoke dialog and don't intend this as a suggestion)
GB range = the portable hard drive at the suggestion of Michael Black of NC
TB range = tape media, at my suggestion that older devices could be used to read the data where an external hard-drive could be used as an intermediary component to transfer data to newer devices, say the portable hard-drive of Mr. Black and an internal-hard drive which is standard in an older machine. We will say that the labor/work required to remove either is irrelevant as our time is assumed to be worthless within reasonable bounds.

You won't find them until you are in Windows.
Helps to read even print the guide.
If you have auto run enabled, which is a security risk, the Apple setup.exe will run.
Otherwise, just run that.
Either use your OS X DVD, or use the drivers downloaded by Boot Camp Assistant.
Two different ways to get them.

A bit off topic here, but I thought I could help.
i haven't tried on a deb glibc 2.2 box yet, but I just got it going with a 2.2 suse box so it should really be no different. Go to suse.com/oracle and you will find a patch for glibc 2.2 (glibc-2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz). It is currently listed as "it works" and not "certified". I believe it was made by oracle. The basic jist is you install without creating a database, install the patch, and then create the database. Everything seems to be working for me.

Fixed this by doing the following:
un-installed iTunes (it was latest version, but removed it anyway)
downloaded latest version of iTunes for 64 bit Windows 7
opened iTunes & logged in
connected iPod to laptop using USB cable
it was recognized & the driver was updated
iTunes copied all of my purchased music & data to the new iTunes on my VAIO
authorized the purchased music on the new computer
all purchased files were updated in iTunes
