Where in Leopard are printer presets (Velvet Fine art.Icc etc.) stored??

Hi,
I was wondering where in Leopard CS5 and LighrRoom 3 Printer "Presets"  and ICC profiles in general are are stored by default.  I have looked and there seem to be profiles in a number of spots.... but I saved a Preset with a specific name and searched for it ... but no luck.
Are the profiles specific to each user account in which CS5 is loaded?
Anyone have a clue?

Printer presets are stored in the this preference file for Leopard. In SL they are stored in the same location but SL allows presets for specific printers also.
/Users/…/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
ICC profile specific to users are stored in /Users/…/Library/ColorSync/Profiles. All other locations for ICC profiles including the printer package are available to all users.

  • Where are Print Presets in Photoshop (CC 2014)?

Where are print presets in Photoshop?  (I'm using CC 2014 but the question applies to earlier versions as well.)
    I don't see them anywhere.
Illustrator has had them for an eternity -- where you can set paper size, printer type, color settings, magnification, etc.
Where is the same functionality for Photoshop?  And if it doesn't exist -- why not? It makes no sense.

Yes they are different apps -- one does raster, one does vector - but they share the need to allowing printing from time to time, and there's no reason why the printing interface should be radically different.
Unquestionably, Print Presets would be very useful in Photoshop.
I know where all the settings are -- I want to have a preset so I don't have to keep setting the color management and magnification and everything else each time I want to output to a particular printer.

  • Where are Print Presets located?

In 10.4.9 there are 2 methods for creating Print Presets. I have used the wrong method and need to delete a preset very badly. Where are these located? Normal ly the field in question says "Custom" or "Default"... I have no problem deleting from the preset field wth commands in it (save, save as..., delete) it's the other one that I need to remove from.
When I hit "Apple-P" it's the top field. Somehow I got a printer preset in there! Help!

Hey thanks... nice try, but that's not the one. That file contains the normal print presets that can be deleted by using the "delete" item in the menu.
I noticed that there are several other files of interest in the library you mentioned. Hmmmm.
I have a screen capture of the menu in question if there's any way to show it to you, let me know.
    Thanks again.

  • Where have all the PRINTING presets GONE?

Even in the mac store they are gone.
Example, say you have a document and you want to reduce the size using quartz filter, before, it used to show "copies and pages" now it just says "last used", what happened to all the color, pages, duplex (if your printer has it) and all the many options that used to be there before 10.5.2?
    Thanks

  • Questions regarding proofing Epson Fine Art Papers in Photoshop CS5

Background. I have an Epson Pro Image printer—4900. I use Epson photo papers and usually print on glossy, luster and semigloss paper. Recently Epson sent me what they call a “Signature Worthy Sample Pack” of photos papers—specifically, Hot Press Bright, Hot Press Natural, Exhibition Fiber Paper, Cold Press Bright, Cold Press Natural, Velvet Fine Art and Ultra Premium Luster—my reward for spending lots of money on one of their printers.
My problem. I soft proof before I print. When I soft proofed using Epson’s profile for Hot Press Bright with Matte Black Ink, I chose Relative Colorimetric for Rendering Intent, checked Black Point Compensation, and checked Simulate Paper Color under my On-Screen display options. When I checked the last—Simulate Paper Color—a haze appeared over my image. If I unchecked Simulate Paper Color, the haze disappeared. I tried adjusting for the haze, but could not match my original and so got rid of the adjustments. I then printed my original using Epson's profile for Hot Press Bright Matte Black. It printed without the haze—beautiful print. Then, I tried the same with Velvet Fine Art. Soft proofing gave the same result—a haze when I selected Simulate Paper Color, no haze when unselected. I printed the original using Epson's profile for Velvet Fine Art, but this time, unlike printing with Hot Press Bright, the print had a hazy overtone.
Finally, my questions. Are there times when I should and should not check Simulate Paper Color? Is there something I might try to correct the haze in the Velvet Fine Art print? I have not yet tried the other papers.

You'll have to ask Epson about that.
Those settings are controlled by the driver.

  • Which program is best for fine art images?

I am a watercolor artist who captures and prints her own fine art images using Epson R2880 printer and Epson Fine Art Velvet paper.  I have thus far only used Picasa... but am now ready to step it up to Adobe... I am on the trial membership for the Cloud.. but am overwhelmed by all the programs available, like Photoshop CC and Dreamweaver... I have no idea what the differences are and which one would be best for my needs... I am really only adjusting my images for white balance, color balance, contrast, hue and saturation etc... and need to be able to isolate certain sections of the image at times to do that... (which I can't with basic programs like Picasa).  Please help!!!

My goodness!  You have jumped straight in with a full Creative Cloud subscription?  Way to go, as we say in this part of the world.
Ahhh...  Just read your post again, and I see you are on the trial.   The Photographer's bundle deal would have been ideal for you, with Photoshop and Lightroom for just $10 a month, but you have just missed that, unless you have previously owned and Adobe application.    But Photoshop is the way to go if you only want the one application.
There some great learning aids on Adobe TV, or get a sunscription to Lynda.com for a few months.
Someone mentioned Illustrator for line art.  After using Photoshop since it was first released fo the PC, I have recently started learning Illustrator, and I'm having one jaw dropping moment after another.  I had no idea it could do so much.  So that might be worth considering, but only in addition to Photoshop.

  • When printing from iphoto all photographs ar printed in a pop art style rather than as seen - how do I change this to printing the photo as seen

When printing from iphoto all photographs are printed in a pop art style rather than as seen - how do I change this to printing the photo as seen?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Damaged preference files can cause a varitety of problems which you wouldn't think it could. Deleting and regenerating the pref file is one of the basic fixes to try.

  • Where are the Printing Presets in Acrobat located on Mac?

I have just upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.3 from Snow Leopard 10.6.8. All of my applications seem to be working fine, however my printing presets in Acrobat Pro X 10.1.13 are missing. Can I restore them from a Time Machine backup and if so where would they located? There seem to be a number of Library files related to Acrobat, but I'm not sure which ones contain the printing presets. I'm printing to an Epson Stylus Pro 3880. I don't want to have to re-create all the printing presets for that machine if I don't have to. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on how to restore my much needed presets.

    Kelvin:
Did you save the presets and give them a unique name so they could be selected at a later time?
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Where Are the Printing Presets?

I've got several printing presets created. I select a photo and click the print icon. In the print dialog that appears there is a Printer drop down menu and Presets drop down menu. Despite having several presets only Standard is in the drop down menu. When I click on Print the next print dialog appears and I can choose the presets from that drop down menu.
What's the use for the preset drop down menu in the main print dialog? Is this caused by the Epson driver. I'm using an R200.
    Thanks

  • Where are Epson printer presets stored?

During my upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.3 and while trying to get my Epson 3880 to be recognized and running, I seem to have trashed all my printer presets! I can probably restore them from Time Machine, but I don't know where to look. Where are the presets stored?

    I thank you all.
    I found it.
    It´s the c:\users\....\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\.....\Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset file.

  • Where are printer driver presets stored in Mac OS X 10.5?

I just bought a new Mac Pro and will be manually migrating files from my G5 PPC. I have several printer presets for three different printers, and I'd really hate to lose them. Where are they stored? I want to make sure I drag them over to the new MP.
    Thanks.

They are in your home directory's Preferences folder:
    /<home>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
    Hope this helps.

  • Where are my presets gone?

Current LR3 user (3.6) on windows. I store all my presets with the catalog.
Bought LR4 installed, and then migrated my catalog to LR4 version (it created a copy of the catalog with new name).
But I don't see any of my presets migrate to LR4, import presets, Metadata presets, printing presets, file renaming presets. None of them are visible in LR4.
    I close LR4, open LR3 and they're all there.
So how do I transfer all my user presets from LR3 to LR4?
    thanks
    Naknomik

    Hi,
When you check the option "store presets with catalog", then the presets are saved in lightroom settings folder which is placed in the location where the catalog is located. In this case Presets are not saved in the default location i.e, C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom.. (Here Appdata is hidden folder)
Hence, when we try to use the LR 3 catalog in LR 4, then in the process of upgrading the catalog, the presets are not found by LR 4 in the default location and thats the reason there will be no presets available in LR 4.
But if the option "store presets with catalog" is unchecked, then after conversion and upgradation of the catalog, all the presets will be available in LR 4 with all the settings that wrere in LR 3
There are few modifications in the develop module in LR 4, so there wil be exclamation mark at the bottom right corner of the image in develop module, when you click that it will give option to update the process version , after updating the process version , the new settings and sliders will be visible
So if you want to use the old process version then new settings and sliders will not be available
NOTE : If a Preset was created with Process 2010, then LR4 will use it with Process 2010.  If you change the image to Process 2012, then you move away from the preset adjustment parameters and you no longer are using the preset.  So, in summary, you can still use the LR3 Presets, but you lose any new LR4 features and functionality.  You can start with a preset from LR3, change the process to Process 2012 and tweak the image adjustment parameters to your satisfaction and then save that as a new preset.  The result would be an upgraded version of your old preset.

  • Printing presets are not loaded correctly

    Dear community,
i have the following problems using different printers (Canon MG5200, Epson Workforce WF3620, etc.):
I saved about 10 own printing presets and when I check on them under "Show presets" they are totally correct. But when I want to use them in a following print job and select them in the drop-down list "Presets" they are not correctly loaded. E.g. "Paper Size" and "Pages" are alternated to thesetting saved in the preset but e.g. the "Duplex Printing" checkbox or the "Print Quality" drop-down list are just left on the setting they were on before.
Anyone knows that problem and can help me?
    Thanks for your help.
    Greetings,
    Fares from Munich

Sorry for the delay in responding.
I was having trouble with presets, too, on my Epson printer/scanner, which is an old machine and the newer driver software does not give the same print setting options that came originally. So I decided to start from scratch. First I used the Epson uninstaller to remove the printer software. Next, reset the print system, then  connected directly to the printer via USB. Ignored the initial offer to download driver software. In the printer panel in System Preferences, clicked + to add the printer. Then the printer was set up by the system. Still connected directly, I made the presets. Make sure to check the box for "All printers" for your presets. These presets should work when you connect your printer on the network instead of USB.

I recently migrated my MacBook from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8, using the Snow Leopard CD I purchased from Apple. Since then I have noticed a strange ozone smell coming from the MacBook in the area where the hinges are to open and close the unit. I was told by Apple that it probably is not serious and is coming from the fans in the MacBook. It is true that the smell/odor is more intense when the fans are working. Apple said I should take the MacBook to an Apple Store to have the hardware checked out. Everything seems to be working correctly. I am backing up automatically wirelessly to a Time Capsule, which I had not done until recently, although I had purchased the Time Capsule in 2009. I have not noticed this odor before. Does anyone suspect something more serious that may be going on?

You may be smelling it because with the new OS the processor is having to work harder causing it to get hotter then it would with the other OS.  I can't say there is nothing wrong, but what could be happening is just that, it's getting hotter so the fan is spinning faster and moving more air so you are getting more of the smell then you would before.  I would still continue to back it up, and take it to the Apple Store at a Genius Bar and have them look at it to make sure.  Was the computer ever in a smoky environment??
