Where is 1.0.0.86 firmware?

I did not know to update the boot software of my SRW2024 first, then update to 1.2.2b.
I need to go back to the 1.0.0.86 firmware.
Is it downloadable and will it work (ie work backwards and then do it properly)?  I know how to use hyperterminal and the xmodem protocol if need be.
Thanks.

I was able to "unbrick" it yesterday.  I found a version of the 1.0.0.86 code on some obscure FTP server.  Additionally, I used a very old Compaq Armada laptop running XP32 to connect to the SRW2024 switch (via hyperterminal) and a native COM port versus a USB to COM port connection that was on a Vista32 machine that was much newer.  MSDOS, Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem will always have their usefulness (yes, this does show my age).
The long transfer time went A-OK and I'm not certain if it was the native COM port, older OS, or what that made it succeed.  The filename was runtop-10086.ros.  Also available were runtop-10059 and runtop-10057.  But, I knew that my original was 10086.
After the xmodem download, the switch went through its routine (unpacking, EEPROM erasure, reprogramming, the whole bit) and everything went back to the way it was.  This means the console screen went back to:
Versions:
Boot Version: 1.0.0.03 (Date: 08-Jun-2004, Time: 09:48:10)
Software Version: 1.0.0.86 (Date: 03-Oct-2005, Time: 15:00:31)
Hardware Version: 00.00.03
Plus, all of my settings were intact (userID, PW, switch name, etc).
NOW, after all of this hassle, what is the correct way to upgrade the software of this switch?
I see in the Web UI under "Maintenance -> File Download" a check box for "Firmware."  Looks good.
A TFTP server IP address is needed.  No problem.  A source file name is needed.  OK.  Destination file name and the choices are "SOFTWARE IMAGE" OR "BOOT CODE" in the drop-down selection box.  So, which gets sent FIRST (the boot code file and what is that?) and then reboot and upgrade the software image to the 1.2.2b version?  Is that the correct procedure and what are the files?
Now, after all of this, if the new boot code and new software do not provide for better reliability (this thing have been rock solid with the 1.0.0.86 code anyway), functionality, security, and then speed, I'll just leave it at 1.0.0.86.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

  • Where do I get an SMC Firmware Update for my 21.5 inch Late 2009 iMac?

    Hello Apple Support Communities,
I have a 21.5 inch, Late 2009 Intel iMac. Currently it is running OSX Lion. It is also running Bootcamp with Windows 7 Professional Installed. Recently the Hard drive crashed on me and I ordered a new generic Hitachi from an Apple Reseller. I took all the precautions and asked all the questions, but when I finished the hard drive replacement, the fans within the iMac started running on High. The other people in my office Hate this. I did some research and found that there is a firmware update for the SMC that I should be installing. I looked on the webpage where apple directs you to find out if you need this update, but I can't find my exact specs on the page (here is the page for reference: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1237) I can only find an update for the 27 inch model. I tried running that one and the system tells me "This software is not supported on your system."
Here are the specs that the page requested me to find:
    Model Identifier:          iMac10,1
    Boot ROM Version:          IM101.00CC.B00
    SMC Version (system):          1.52f9
Someone please help, this has been bugging me for a while.

I took all the precautions and asked all the questions,
Then I trust you saw this before you did the replacement. Apparently, it's not just a question of getting a drive from the same manufacturer to use with the proprietary cable.

It's acting as if the temp sensor is not connected. I have it bookmarked amidst thousands of bookmarks but can't remember the name right now. There is some program out there that, in the absence of getting data from the internal sensor, will regulate the fan speed based on the SMART temp. If I think of it, I'll post back.
Here it is. It's meant for the 2011 iMac Apple drives, but I don't see why it wouldn't work in your situation.

BTW, I think John Galt is thinking of the 2011 iMac drives, not the late 2009s, which are not quite as impossible.

  • Where to find release notes for firmware v20 of 58...

Anybody know where i could find the release notes for firmware v20? I wish to know what are fixed. Thanks!

Changelogs are considered confidential information by Nokia. You'll not see an official document reporting the changes made. What you might see is leaked documents on some websites, and you have to take those with a pinch of salt.

  • Where can i find ios 3 firmware files for ipod touch 2nd genertion

I have looked everywhere, but i cant find any firmware downloads for ios 3.1.3 for ipod touch 2nd generation. Everywhere i have looked they have only had ios 2 and 4 but no ios 3! And the rare chance i do find a link it does not work. Where can i find a real source to download the firmware IOS 3.1.3 on ipod touch 2nd generation, not 3rd generation not 1st generation. Please help

Nowhere. If you manage to find one, iTunes won’t allow it to be installed, and if you somehow bypass that, the device won’t activate.

  • Where can I find the old firmware?

I was making some changes to my network when the utlity asked me to upgrade the firmware to 7.4.2. I did and now all I have is warm brick. I'm trying to figure out where I can download the 7.4.1 because currently the "download" just leads to an article.

I found the answer on another forum (thank you to whoever posted that). Just in case someone else wonders the same thing.
    1. Open AirPort Utility.
    2. From the AirPort Utility menu, hold the Option key (Control key in Windows XP and Vista) and choose Check for Updates....
    3. Select the specific firmware version you require.
    4. Click Download.
    5. Select your base station and choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click on the AWD icon.
    6. Choose Base Station > Upload Firmware.
    7. Select a firmware version and click OK.

  • Huawei e170 dongle, where do I find out what firmware it has on it?

Does anybody know how to find it? I have problems running it and thought the firmware is not up to date to run under SL? Also how to update the FW if needed?

    andyBall_uk wrote:
usually, the firmware version can be seen in a support/help software section of the setup application, tho' doubtless there's a way to see it w/o using that, since they can be operated w/o specific software or extensions, so far as I know.
Yeah I agree. I have no software appellation, and the dashboard that is available from Huawei shows nothing of the kind. So anybody know how to?

  • HT1343 where to find the downloaded ios firmware located

please tell me how to find my downloaded ios firmwares on my imac

If support have a firmware they might be able to send it to you. But often in these situations they want the player returned. It's a shame that the base firmware isn't available for download.

N95-1 has been updated to v20 with demand paging and N95 8GB came installed with it.
But... N95-3 for ameirca still is slow................
Nokia when will have a real update for our phone?

Yes I agree. If anything can we get the updated camera software.. It sucks to try to use the camera and it takes quite a long time to go from snap to snap. on my N95-1 after the update the camera was pretty quick processing images etc. to where you could actually use the camera. Now its currently so slow that it makes using the camera unbearable.
