Where are they installed in OSX?
Do my Adobe programs install fonts in a different folder than other programs do?

  • Anyone know where the photoshop cs5 essential font folder is located?

anyone know where the photoshop cs5 essential font folder is located?
i know the windows font folder works,  but adobe used to have a font folder of there own.
    there is no C:\Program Files\Common Files\Fonts in cs5.
    only
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\FontsRequired
    and
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\FontsRecommended
    which i  did try.

The Adobe font folder is a goner. It is deprecated as of CS5 and no longer used. any fonts must be installed using your operating system's font management.

  • Adobe Font Management.

Adobe InDesign has a Font Folder inside the Application where you can load fonts for InDesign only. Why can’t they come up with an Adobe Font Folder that will not only load fonts for InDesign, but also any Adobe App like Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat & Dreamweaver? Typekit does this, Plus shares the Fonts with MS Word but I cannot use my Existing Font Library.

On an Apple computer, put them in:
(your User folder) > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Fonts
Note that Apple may have hidden the User-Library for you. Hold down the Option key on your keyboard and the Library listing will appear in the Go menu while in the Finder

  • Synchronizing Adobe fonts to C:\Windows global fonts

    Hello all,
Is there any problem with synchronizing the global Windows font folder
C:\Windows\Fonts with the Common Files\Adobe\Fonts folder?
Can I use the standard sync'ing app for that, such as GoodSync or Beyond
    Compare ?
It escapes me as to why Adobe apps would build themselves/itself a private
fonts folder. The average user is left completely vexed about using some
font in Adobe-app-CS2 - then can't find the same font in Word or CorelDraw
    etc. etc.

Ahhhhhh Peter, you are brilliant... I sat here and wondered and wondered if <br />Bob had meant "install the fonts that are currently in the Adobe folder into <br />the Windows Fonts folder."  I have trusted Bob's postings in these newsgroup <br />for (I think years) and didn't want to misinterpret what he told me; but I <br />now understand his post by your confirming what he meant.<br /><br />Thank you so so much!!!!<br /><br />Tim<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> Looking at Bob's post I can see how you might have been confused. • Where is the InDesign font folder in Windows 7?

I don't have Suitcase or other font managers. BUT..I like to have all my fonts at my fingertips. Was storing them into Program Files(X86)/Adobe/InDesign/Fonts. All were readily available. It slowed InDesign down a little, but worth it to me.  Any help is appreciated.

For 32-bit versions of ID , the location is the same, (as far as being in the InDesign/Fonts folder, but where you installed ID may not be under Adobe in the Program Files (x86) folder), for 64-t versions look in the Program Files folder.

  • Fonts folder - where do I put fonts from CS6 disk of extras?

Where do I file FONTS from Master Collection CS6 extras CD?

I think I understand what was on your mind since I was wondering if the fonts folder was part of the installation or a "extra" package that would just sit there if you didn't manually download it. However, I believe the fonts are automatically installed into your default library during the regular installation process. At least the following release notes suggest that, and I was able to find the fonts that were on the CS6 install disk in the library on my computer, fonts I did not have before. So, in short, I don't think you need to do anything with that font folder--it is taken care of during the regular installation. Here's the release notes URL: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/release-note/cs6-master-collection-release-notes.htm l .

  • Where is the extension folder for Adobe Bridge? (Mac)

I am trying to install the output module on Adobe Bridge. I am totally new to Creative Suite and photoshop. I can't find any information on bridge extensions at all. Here's the page I found on installing the output module- http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/install-output-module-bridge-cc.html
I downloaded it but after that is says to copy it into the extension folder. Where is the extension folder? Is it is Bridge? Is it in Finder? Any information on extensions is much appreciated! What exactly are extensions? What is the difference between the extension folder and extension manager?
    Thank you!

At first sight I can' see anything wrong about the correct locations you used.
There was no need to delete all workspaces but that also should do no harm I would think.
You once pointed at the bridge6.plist file but it is not clear to me what you did with it. Personally I would quit Bridge and delete this plist file manually and then restart with again holding down option and use reset preferences.
And you did also use the reset to standard workspaces instead of the reset workspace to only reset the selected workspace. I don't know for sure this will make a difference but it is worth a try.
And while you are in the user library to delete the plist file for Bridge also look in the folder caches in this library.
User / library/caches/adobe/Bridge CC and inhere find and delete both the plug in and cache folder, then restart Bridge.
Finally it might be also worth a try to download CS6, it should not be needed to do so but it was one of the earlier solutions that worked. In your ACC menu click on any app that shows blue and this brings you to the CC website. Choose download center and find PS. Click on the icon and this gives you the detailed download page. Inhere you can change CC to CS6.
Download PS6 it and install it (this also installs the CS6 version of Bridge which was not a separate download in CS6). Then try first start CS6 and start the AOM which is installed by default in this version.
Then when having used this once quit CS6 and try CC (or even combine with restarting your Mac).
Hope this helps, because I'm running out of options

  • Where is Adobe Muse in my applications folder?

Where is Adobe Muse in my applications folder? It shows as installed in my Cloud app on the desktop, but not in my Application folder. List by Date shows nothing there. Is it under another name possibly? The Uninstaller found it...somewhere. I uninstalled and downloaded it again but don't see it in the Application folder. I would like to use Muse, please.

Re-install it from the System Restore disks that came with your computer. Select to 'Install Bundled Applications only'

  • HT2509 Where should I keep my fonts folder on my HD

Where should I keep my fonts folder on my HD?

I assume you mean third party fonts you've added? If so, pretty much anywhere you want.
There are already three Fonts folders on the hard drive they're at:
    /System/Library/Fonts/
    /Library/Fonts/
    ~/Library/Fonts/
The first obviously belongs to the system. If you don't know what you're doing in that folder, leave it alone. The second is the Library you see when you double click the icon of the hard drive on your desktop. Any fonts in that folder can be used by any user account. The last refers to the Fonts folder of the active user. That is, whoever is logged in at the moment. Only that user can access fonts within their account.
It's not a good idea to activate hundreds, and especially not thousands of fonts at a time. They take up space in RAM when active. They more you have open, the less RAM is available for other apps. Long font lists in apps also very much slow down those menus.
I would create a folder for your fonts anywhere outside of the three locations I listed above. You can put is right at the root of the drive is you want, next to Applications, Users, etc. You can even call the folder Fonts if you want to. OS X will pay no attention to it, despite the name. It only automatically looks into the three main Fonts folders.
From there, you can activate fonts within that folder using Font Book, or any other third party font manager. If you're using Font Book, I strongly suggest using Library sets rather than normal sets. With the former, the fonts stay where they are (activated in place) rather than being copied into your user account (a waste of time and disk space).

  • Adobe Fonts used in logo design and copyright laws

Hi, if you are using an Adobe design software such as Illustrator, Flash or Fireworks to create a logo or banner for use as print and or web where it includes Adobe font in the logo and the characters create words ie; the trading name of the business do you need to approach Adobe for permission to use the fonts or is it expected considering the software is for graphical creations?

Why are we now saying that Photoshop can be used for logos? And what is wrong with CorelDraw? For someone who does not want to argue, it seems odd that an argument is happening within their own posts. :)
The ideal logo design tool offers versatile vector path editing tools and spot color swatch capability. Logo designers generally use Freehand, Illustrator, or CorelDraw... which all offer these abilities.

  • Need help setting up a shared /Library/Fonts folder for font sharing

    Hi,
I have a problem setting up a shared /Library/Fonts folder on my OSX 10.5.5 server that gets automounted on the OSX 10.5.x clients.
While I managed to get the folder to show up automatically under /Network/Library/Fonts on the clients, the fonts in these folders do not show up in Font Book on the client systems. Plus, it seems like there is some sort of language mismatch, since I am using a German OSX installation. While the shared /Library/Fonts folder does show up under the "Network" area (where the servers are listed), it does not connect correctly on the "/Netzwerk" folder that OS X creates automatically. In fact there are 2 folders named "/Netzwerk" on my startup drive root directory, one that reads "/Network" when looking at it in the terminal, and one named "/Netzwerk". The /Network one does have a working link to the /Library folder, and the /Netzwerk one does only contain something looking like an alias of /Library, but it does not allow any access to this alias.
If anybody did manage to get this Netowrk "/Library/Fonts" to work I would be happy for some feedback. I am simply not sure if this is related to a localization bug, or if I am doing something wrong here. The fact that the folder and the fonts does show up correctly under the network portion of the sidebar seems to indicate that my setup is correct, but still the fonts do not work.
Any ideas, or maybe a step-by-step description on how to set this up would be great.
    Thanks a lot,
    Floh

Hi, Sorry I don't have an answer for you. But how did you get to share /Library/Fonts? I was trying to do the same thing by using "File Sharing" in Server administrator. But under volumes, I don't see my root directory "/". So there is no way that I can share any of my folders under "/".
    Thanks.

  • How to find font in Indesign, which is in Windows Font Folder?

    Hi
I need to use Monotype Sorts font.
This font was not in the Indesign list of fonts.
I bought the font and downloaded it to a file on my hard drive.
    It is called Monotype_sorts.ttf
I then went to Windows Font Folder in Cpanel and installed it.
I then followed advice I found on the web and copied the font to the Adobe/Indesign CS5/ Fonts folder.
However I still can't see the font within Indesign in order to use it.
Any help would be very much appreciated as I need to try and work this out very quickly.
    I'm on Windows Vista.
    Many thanks liz

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
... I then went to Windows Font Folder in Cpanel and installed it.
I then followed advice I found on the web and copied the font to the Adobe/Indesign CS5/ Fonts folder.
That was some bad advice you got there. Indesign is fully able to use all of your installed fonts -- the ones in Windows. Only a very few specialized types of fonts that cannot be installed in Windows need to go into ID's "private" Fonts folder. (And another reason would be you want to keep your Windows system 'clean'.)
The problem may very well be that InDesign now sees two versions of the same font, and refuses to let you select either, just to make things not too complicated. So delete the font in one of your locations.
If that doesn't work either, read this thread on how to reset InDesign's internal font database:
