Where is album artwork?

I'm trying to put in some artwork for a few different songs on iTunes, but I don't know where the albums artwork folder is since they updated iTunes.

Use Get Info. For a single track use the artwork tab, for multiple tracks use the artwork box on the info tab.

  • Black in place of album artwork?

On my iPod nano, some songs display a black space where the album artwork should be (this is NOT the grey music note icon- just black) When I flip the screen to go to Cover Flow, I can see the album artwork for that album. Then when I flip back, the album artwork is shown while adjusting itself to the upright screen, stays in place for about a milisecond, then turns black again.
I have checked on iTunes to make sure that EVERY SINGLE SONG has its album artwork attached to it. I've checked some of the songs that appear black on my iPod, and their album artwork shows in both the cover flow and bottom left display.
I can find no logical pattern to which songs do this and which do not. Is there anybody at all that has a solution or can at least give me some suggestions?

This came up awhile ago. I think it had to do with video card drivers or screen resolution don't remember. Have you changed any screen setting recently?

  • How to make album artwork bigger on itunes?

I liked the feature on the old itunes where the album artwork size could be changed.
I cant find this feature anymore.

    ?Hi,
You can use a third-party tag editor to remove the album art of that particular song in your ZEN Mozaic. This shouldn't affect the copy on your Windows Media Player . Any special reasons you don't want the album art to show on the player? Note that you may need to do this everytime you sync the player, since the track on your Windows Media Player still retains the album art.

  • Album artwork isn't showing up in album view (where all the albums are) but IS showing up when you drill into the specific album.

The album artwork isn't showing up in the album view where all the different albums are shown but when you drill into the specific album then it is shown.  This seems to be a recent problem as it wasn't happening in the past.

Nope, that doesn't work.  First, I manually manage the music, but even deleting and using auto-fill, doesn't put all the album art in place even though it is all on the songs in iTunes.  Even copying and pasting from iTunes to the iPhone does not get the artwork to show up, despite the fact it shows up in "Info" on the iPhone in iTunes.  Plus there seems no rhymn nor reason as to the missing artwork, some ripped songs have it, some purchased songs do not. Bizarre!  But I've run across this problem every since time I've restored an iPhone and had to redo the music separately, however, previously I could manually drop and drag the song over after the auto-fill to replace (after deleting on the iPhone) and the artwork would show up.  Not this time however.  This is one of those details I find extremely annoying!

  • Where is iTunes storing my album artwork?

    Running:
    OS X 10.9 Mavericks
    iTunes 11.1.3
All of my 500+ albums in iTunes have artwork, however my Album Artwork folder on my mac is empty and has no photos.
I've looked in iTunes media and all other files and I can't find it anywhere.
(I want to select it as a folder to share with my Apple TV and use it as a screensaver)
Is there anyway I can trace the file location to find out where iTunes is storing all of my artwork?

I've looked in Album Artwork and it says there are no photos there. (I even searched in each individual folder within it and it is empty)
If they are stored there, they are encrypted anyway, so you would not be able to use them.
When looking through the idividual song files under itunes I can't find anything that isn't in an audio format. There are no jpegs, png, etc.
They are actually embedded in the song files.  To get at it, right-click the track in the library, Get Info, go to the Artwork tab, and you should see it.  You can do a Copy from there.

  • Where's Display Album Artwork option? It's missing

I've read the document, I know where it's supposed to be...but it's not there.
My friend is having issues with her iPod Touch displaying incorrect artwork on her iPod, even though it shows correctly in iTunes. I told her to unsync the artwork then resync it. We connected her iPod, selected it under Devices, clicked on the Music tab....but the option to Display Album Artwork on iPod just isn't there.
    Any ideas? She's running 7.5 on a G5.

There is no option for the ipod touch to not sync artwork, it just does, you can't turn it on or off. If you are having problems with artwork mismatched, the thing to do is to turn off music syncing all together, sync the ipod, so all the music is erased from it. Then turn music syncing back on and let it resync. Make sure you have your music still in itunes or backed up before you erase it from the ipod, it will erase it.

  • Where is the album artwork when you store songs in an external harddrive?

I have all my songs on an external flash drive but I have the I-tunes program on the C drive of my windows laptop.
In I-tunes I pointed the storage to the E drive and it all works fine.
But there is one wrinkle. It looks as if some of the album artwork is still stored on the C drive and NOT in the I-tunes folder in the E drive.
I know this becasue when I hit "add folder" and added the entire contents of my I-tunes folder on the E drive I:
1 got all my songs - no problem
2 encountered a delay as the program told me it was finding artwork for about a third of my songs.
It looks like the E drive has artwork for all the albums to which I manually added artwork. But it does not have the artwork for songs where the artwork came from the advanced / get album artwork function.
    Weird eh? Any thoughts?

    Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc
Right-click on drive H: and click Change Drive Letter and Paths...

  • Where did this album artwork come from???????

Recently I sync'd my iPod (5G) and iTunes added an album cover to all my songs in the Rock genre. All my albums in the rock genre now have the same artwork on my iPod. However on my iTunes, the album artwork is correct for each bands individual album and there is only one album cover in each songs information file. How did this happen? This is the first time this has ever happened. There are even a couple of random albums I bought on iTunes where the album cover art was placed on some bands album art which have not been changed in a year, but on iTunes the correct album cover is the one shown on my computer screen. Am I making any sense? Can you guys help me??

  • Album artwork, where is dialog box?

I read another post that said you can manually add album artwork to your Ipod by downloading the album covers then pasting them into a dialog box, where is this? Is there something else I have to do after that?
    thanks, Onchee

The is the tag info. dialog. Easiest way to view it is to select one or more tracks and press CTRL-I (Windows) or Option-I (Mac). Any art you drop into the artwork square will replace all artwork in each track. You can also delete existing art by ticking the checkbox while leaving the artwork blank. It's worth noting there is another way to add art... In iTunes turn on the artwork box if not already there, *View > Show artwork* (CTRL-G). Click on the title of this box to change between *Now Playing* and *Selected Item*, set to *Selected Item*. If you select one or more tracks you can drop artwork onto this box to add that artwork into the art colection for each track. Note the slightly different behaviours.

  • Where is the Album Artwork saved that iTunes doesn't automatically download

I recently downloaded iTunes 7 and I love it's ability to show the album/CD art. Some of my CD's art was available on the iTunes store which the program downloaded automatically but the majority of it I had to find manually online. (Just FYI, Amazon Album Art is a fabulous widget to help with this, <www.widget-foundry.com/widgets/amazonart.htm>) Hours and hours later (large MP3 collection) I'm done. Now, as I have the same music library library on my office computer I want to have the art there as well. I copied the Album Artwork folder from my Home>Music>iTunes folder onto the office computer and launched iTunes but the only artwork visible was the artwork that the iTunes program had automatically downloaded. Where is the artwork that I painstakingly copied/pasted into the iTunes at home? Is it kept somewhere other than the Album Artwork folder?
    G4 1.25 Dual   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Artwork that you manually add in the manner you describe is embedded inside the music files themselves (i.e. inside the mp3 files are you using).
Therefore if you use those same mp3 files on another computer the artwork will instantly be available.
Power iTunes users [including myself] prefer this approach [embedding artwork] for exactly this reason. I have therefore taken any artwork iTunes 7 downloaded itself and forced it to embed it in to my music.
I also have a suspicion that simply copying the [downloaded] artwork folder to another computer would probably not work since it appears it is using reference numbers in the file names which would be different on a different computer.

  • I recently purchased Foo Fighters Sonic Highways on iTunes.  Where is the album artwork, liner notes and pictures?   When purchasing/downloading entire album on iTunes, do you get this information with the purchase?

The album cover art should show on the album in the Music part of your library. For other pictures and/or notes, does the album description page in the store say that it's an iTunes LP (does it have an LP label against it in the store) ? If not then you will just get the tracks.

  • Where is my album artwork??

I was wondering in anyone else had a problem with their artwork missing.
I had artwork for every song in iTunes, and after the latest update, many are missing.
Can anyone tell me if they're having this problem or is it just me?
Also, if there is any resolved for this issure.
    Thanks,
    Nancy

Hmm, I had an issue with artwork after a recent crash which I resolved by restoring the library files and artwork folder from my backup. Assuming you don't have such a backup you may need to rebuild the artwork cache. Close iTunes, rename the folder Album Artwork as Album Artwork (Corrupt) then restart iTunes. Slowly scroll through your entire library in Grid mode. iTunes should rebuild the artwork cache for all albums with embedded art. Art that you had downloaded from the store will need fetching again.

  • Where's the "Display album artwork on your iPod" preference?

Everything seems to work fine with iTunes 9.0.1 and my iPod Classic 80G, except that it doesn't seem possible to remove album artwork from the iPod. I just read the article "[Viewing album artwork on iPod|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2317?viewlocale=en_US]" and I know that I just have to deselect the "Display album artwork on your iPod" preference in iTunes. The problem is that, after selecting my iPod under the Devices section in the iTunes Source pane, I can't find any such preference in the Music tab. I can see two radio buttons ("Entire music library" and "Selected playlists, artits, and genres") and one checkbox ("Include music videos"), but no "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox.
    Any idea?

Since when has the left hand known what the right hand is doing in any organiszation.
Can you give a reference supporting your statement ?
From Apple? No. Plenty of threads in here though, both builds of iTunes 9 released for Mac & PC have been missing this feature and people have given feedback. This is either a policy change and it will remain that way or it was accidentally omitted during the redesign in which case it may reappear in a future build. Either way the control isn't magically missing from just your copy, it's the same for all of us.

  • Where did my album artworks go?

I added a new album to my iPad using my MacBook and after updating the files on the iPad, half of the albums artworks were gone in my music library in my iPad. Why and how can I get them back?

    Hello MW1192,
If you don't see your album artwork, you can get iTunes to download the artwork again by right clicking on the album and select Get Album Artwork. For more information take a look at the article below.
