  • Automate PDF Presentation stopped working

I use the Automate -> PDF Presentation function all the time, and it suddenly isn't doing anything. It lets me into the dialogue to set everything up, and it looks normal, but when I hit "save" nothing happens. I've tried going back to files I've used in the past to create multi-page PDF documents and still nothing.
    I have Photoshop 3 v. 10.0.1 for Macintosh OS X 10.6.6 and Adobe Reader 8.2.6
    Thanks for any help.
    Christina

Yes I support this. The ability to create multiple page PDF's directly from Photoshop should never have been removed.
Looks like at one point someone in management at Adobe had the smart idea that Bridge would be some kind of 'hub' that every user would see the sense in using. A kind of asset management alternative to the Operating System. Never really took off. Why?- because the OS got considerably better at previewing images and assets. Well for some of us. And Bridge itself had too much overhead.

  • Automate - Pdf Presentation

This works fine in PS CS3, now in CS5 is gone. Please give us back because using Bridge CS5 to make a multipage PDF is not as fast as it was with pdf presentation. We need to see thumbnails of files, select them, select output style... if we want a file two times we need to hardcopy the file.
I read other user asking for this feauture to be back... so, will it be back?

  • Missing menu items in CS4 - PDF Presentation

I downloaded the 30 day trial of CS4 and I can't make a PDF presentation (which I do daily in CS2). There should be a menu item in Photoshop under automate and from Bridge, under tools, Photoshop, PDF presentation. I read through the documentation for CS4 and they should be there... why aren't they? I need this tool any ideas why it's missing in CS4 for me?

In another thread, this relevant exchange between myself, Anne and Rene occurred on this very subject. Had I known, I would have posted here instead. Ms. Guo, if you are indeed listening, consider putting this one back...because, specifically with open Photoshop files, it can't be pulled off in Bridge. Jbeezer points out another major problem:
"There is no control over compression and it yields a much larger PDF as in over 5x for my previous example."
    Here is the earlier exchange:
    Anne said:
"And it isn't called "Automate->PDF Presentation" in CS4 either.
It has been replaced by a multi-page PDF that you create from Bridge CS4's Output Panel and then edit in Acrobat Pro if you need to finesse transitions etc.."
    I said:
I did find that in my hunt. It doesn't work anywhere near as quickly or as well as it did in PS CS3. Not even close. It can't deal with open PS documents (at least I couldn't find a way) and it can't be set to completely remove the "jpg'ing". I tried for a few hours to get it to output a decent PDF within Bridge and just gave up. Moving over to Acrobat Pro to "fix" pretty much negates the whole Bridge step. It's actually faster to completely skip Bridge and just make a PDF directly in Acrobat Pro.
There was no reason to remove this function at all. It wasn't broken and it didn't need fixing. Yet another reason to keep PS CS3 resident...particularly because the PS CS3 parameters actually does this trick (PDF from open PS images) faster and with better quality than Acrobat Pro does with saved/converted PDF files ...in one easy step. When you get right down to it, the function Automate>PDF Presentation wasn't moved over to Bridge. It was removed.

That's funny. There is no other information on Automate>PDF presentation in Nack's blog:
    * Picture Package, Contact Sheet, Web Photo Gallery, and PDF Presentation have been replaced by the new Output module in Bridge CS4. Of these the first three are in the optional download package, while PDF Presentation no longer works in CS4.
    * In CS4 we made some hard calls and retired a number of features. Some of these can be added back into CS4 (see Mac & Windows downloads) while others are gone for good."
    "Gone for good" applies here.

  • How can I make the image number biger in a PDF presentation?

How can I make the original image number, biger, located on the lower part of the picture in a PDF presentation so people don't have to zoom in 50% or 100% in order to see number of each picture in a automate PDF presentation. Thank you for your help

When a document is signed, the signer has the option of locking the document. The links won't be active if the document is locked, so to avoid this, instruct the signer not to lock when signing.

Did if ever work since putting cs2 on windows vista?
Does the pdf presentation work if you invoke the command in photoshop proper instead of bridge?
    File>Automate>PDF Presentation.
I really don't think using the adobe cs2 download will make any difference as either your bridge and/or photoshop preferences could be corrupted
and you should try resetting those as they are not reset during a unistall/reinstall of cs2.
    Reset photoshop preferences:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
    Reset bridge preferences:
Reset Bridge by holding Option(Mac) or Ctrl (Pc) as soon as you click on the icon to start it.
ADD -  If done properly you will get a reset window with 3 options.

  • CS4/CS3 PDF Presentation

Installed CS4 Production Premium about a month ago. Recently went to File--Automate--PDF Presentation and it is missing. Should have read the forums before I got CS4! So I confidently went back to Photoshop C3 Extended and started to do a series of PDF Presentation document builds. My one page "documents" went fine. Had two multi-page documents. Go thru the menus ok and even see the page by page presentation during the document build and then no error. Come to find out, all the multi-page files have the proper "name.pdf" but have a file size of zero. Now this never happened prior to installing CS4.
Q1. Did the installation of CS4 actually remove function from the installed Photoshop CS3?
Q2. What happened to all the Photoshop CS3 plug-ins? Don't see any way to get a listing in CS4.
Maybe I missed it but was all the function removal from CS3 with CS4 ever described in the "What's New in CS4" documentation?

    >What happened to all the Photoshop CS3 plug-ins? Don't see any way to
    >get a listing in CS4
As discussed many times: Several features have been moved to Bridge, others are still available via an optional install from your content disc.
    >Did the installation of CS4 actually remove function from the >installed Photoshop CS3?
No, but it may have updated the globally shared PDF libraries so they are no longer compatible with what the particular script/ tool expects.

  • Re: Create a PDF presentation slideshow output file in CS5

Upgraded from CS2 to CS5. In CS2, this was an Automate option - presentation I think. All you had to do was drag the PDF photos together, select the presentation options and bingo. Then I could e-mail the presentation file. Can't find anything like this in CS5.

Zeno - Thanks for the help. Am almost there. Am able to create a contact sheet slideshow presentation but don't see an option for a slideshow presentation where each photo shows individually on a slide. The contact sheet has multiple pictures per slide.

  • Where has the preview panel gone is Bridge CS5?

Today when I opened up Bridge, the preview panel on the right hand side has disappeared. It shows as being selected when I go to the Window Menu but it isn't there. The scroll bar is also missing so I can't view all of the thumbnails. Does anyone have any ideas about why this has happened and how I can return it to it's normal format? Thanks, Michelle.

    Fantastic. Thank you, much appreciated

  • Pdf Presentation

Just upgraded from cs2 to cs5, where the heck is pdf presentation at?
(company made me) (expected to do the same things in cs5 that i did
in cs2 and they removed cs2)
Don't tell me use bridge, cause it don't work. (doesn't embed fonts or vector data)
If anyone knows of a suitable replacement that does the same thing, i'd like to
    know.
    Thanks

But at least the description is in the pdf; to view it ctrl-click on an image with the Object TouchUp-Tool and select Show Metadata from the PopUp-Menu.
Though thats probably no help with what You intended to do.

  • White line in PDF Presentation

I have created a PDF Presentation in CS3 using 120 jpg images. An occasional page has a thin, white line across it, cutting through both text and image. Does anyone know what is causing this? I work on Mac G5 with OSX.

I checked again and am looking at the white lines when at 100%. However, if I boost it up to 122% it disappears. Then when I drop back to 100% it is gone! I am not interested in printing, but am producing disks with the pdf for family enjoyment (I hope). I'll have to see what happens when I burn it on to a disk. Thanks everyone for your comments and help.

  • Photoshop/Bridge CS4 PDF Presentation Update or Plug-in

Full Parameter PDF Presentation is essential for me.
PDF Presentation (as in Photoshop - Bridge CS2 and CS3) with panels for selection of presentation prameters and saving with various levels of jpeg compression and image quality, presets and output color conversion, etc. . This was not only a very useful feature, but has become a required component of my workflow over the past three years. This to shoot all imaages in RAW, upload files to Bridge, develop a wide range of selected images with Camera RAW and then produce a PDF slide show of 20-25 'proofs' while still in Bridge with a size of 10-15MB that can be emailed to various recipients for review and final selection. Final selections are then fine truned in Photoshop for printing. While some of the improvements in CS4 are useful, CS3 at present is more satisfactory and remains more useful than the CS4 upgrade. Addition of this feature as an update or legacy plug-in (the basic componets exist in CS4) would be more than acceoptable and allow me to complete the upgrade to CS4. Your attention and help will be very much appreciaated!

    APOLOGIES!!!
    I just found it......
Using the Adobe Output Module script, you can create Adobe PDF contact sheets and presentations in Adobe Bridge. Contact sheets let you easily preview and catalog groups of images by displaying a series of thumbnails on a single page. PDF presentations let you use a variety of images to create a multipage document for slide show presentation. You can set options for image quality in the PDF, specify security settings, and set the document to open automatically in full-screen mode in Adobe Acrobat. You can also add the filename as a text overlay below each image in the PDF.
    1. Select the files or the collection or folder that contains the images you want to include in the contact sheet or presentation.
    2. Choose Window > Workspace > Output.
If the Output workspace is not listed, select Adobe Output Module in Startup Scripts preferences.
Adobe Bridge displays the Output panel at the right side of the window and the Folders panel at the left. The Content panel with your selected photos appears at the bottom of the window, and the Preview panel appears in the middle.
    3. In the Output panel, select PDF.
    4. Choose a layout option from the Template menu.
    5. With your photos selected in the Content panel, click Refresh Preview to view the contact sheet in the Output Preview panel.
Note: The Output Preview panel displays only one PDF page.
    6. Customize the appearance of the contact sheet by specifying options in the Document, Layout, Overlays, and Watermark areas of the Output panel.
    7. (Optional) Change the images in the PDF by navigating to them in the Folders or Favorites panel, and then selecting them in the Content panel. You can also use the Preview panel to preview the images and refine your selection. Drag thumbnails in the Content panel to rearrange the order of the images on the page.
    8. Click Refresh Preview at any time to update the PDF and see the changes in the Output Preview panel.
    9. For presentations, specify the following options in the Playback panel:
    Open In Full Screen Mode
Opens the PDF in full-screen mode in Adobe Acrobat.
    Advance Every [x] Seconds
Specifies how long each image is displayed before the presentation advances to the next image. The default duration is 5 seconds.
    Loop After Last Page
Specifies that the presentation automatically starts over after reaching the end. Deselect this option to stop the presentation after the final image is displayed.
    Transition
Specifies the transition when moving from one image to the next. Choose a transition from the Transition menu. Depending on the transition, you can also specify a Direction and a Speed.
    10. If youd like to automatically open the PDF in Acrobat after you save it, select View PDF After Save at the bottom of the Output panel. Otherwise, just click Save.
    11. In the Save (Windows) or Save As (Mac OS) dialog box, enter a name for the PDF, select a destination for the saved file, and then click Save.

  • Working on Windows 7, ran automatic updates recently, now Photoshop CS5 not working

Hi there. I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7. I installed PS CS5 and have been using it with no problems until I ran automatic updates the day before yesterday, now my PS CS5 ACTS like it's open but really isn't. I can't view the screen, see any files, open anything from Bridge, etc. But when I go to shut down the computer, it tells me PS is running. I can shut it down in Task Manager but otherwise, I can't see that it's open. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled and the problem still happens. Any ideas? Did some service pack wipe out my ability to view PS? Bridge opens just fine, as does Lightroom. Any ideas? I'm a professional photographer and this totally has affected my workflow!! Please help. By the way, I can open PS CS3.

Don't ever allow windows to run updates in the auto mode. Change it to where you can run the updater but choose what you want to update. Video card drivers are the worst offender in auto-update. You never know what hits you until the update is done.
You can also do a system restore too. Go back to a date before the updates. Then see if that works. Then go into windows update and change it from auto to manual so you can choose the updates. Stay away from the video card update.
You can go to www.amd.com and look for your crad drivers. Some laptops allow AMD to publish updated driver and some don't. Since you did put the name of the laptop in your post it is best for you to go there and look. The drivers will be mobility drivers. Download the 10.8 mobility driver package.
If you find the drivers download them to your desk top. A download icon will be made. Click on that Icon to download the software. This new icon is the actual software.
Right click on that icon, choose properties, general tab. There should be something about unlocking the file below. Click to unlock then hit apply. Then choose compatibility tab, put a check mark in run as Admin, hit apply, then ok to close. Some people don't do this step but I do to ensure the proper security levels are met (but not needed to do so your choice).
Click on the icon again to install software. when you come to a screen with the option to install/uninstall the software, choose uninstall. Let it run its course. The screen will flicker and you will see the screen go away and come back bigger (no drivers). When done reboot computer.
Click on that icon again but now you want to choose install software. Let it run its course. The screen will flicker and screen will go away and come back.
    Reboot computer.
Hope the drivers work. If they don't go back to system restore and choose a point where you had the good drivers and CS5 worked.

  • Page order in PDF Presentations

I am using Photoshop to clean up and edit multi-page PDF files.  By the time I import the PDF, and go to export it again by creating a PDF presentation, the page order is backwards.  This can be very time consuming to fix by dragging the pages on the bottom to the top over and over (I do this after clicking "Automate" then "PDF Presentation".  Is there any way around this?

    Hi rainbowbowral,
To reorder pages, you need the full version of Acrobat. If you'd like, you can download a free 30-day trial from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • Can i make PDF presentation 'repeat' on Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

    Hi!
Im a new here, and i have little problem which i hope you can help me.
So i must do PDF-presentation which repeat after last page. So when the presentation goes last page it must jump first page, and start presentation again. But i cant find where i can do that trick. So could anyone here help me with that problem? Im using Adobe Acrobat X Pro software. So how i can make presentation repeat, or need i some other software?
I have tried make Action Wizard new action on "document processing" tab and there "set open options" that makes presentation "single page continous", but that dont make presentation to repeat. So i do something wrong, or that is wrong place where i try do that.
So im little bit stuck with that, and need advices.
    Thanks!

You can define a Page Action for the last page in the document, and make it reset to page 0. Right-click a page in the thumbnails panel on the left, choose Properties, then Actions.
To avoid missing the last page and messing about with timing code, the simple fix is to add a blank page to the end of the document, and give it a 'Page Open' action of "Go to a page View" which moves to your first page.
