Where is backup file located

error message when syncing to my computer:
Itunes could not backup the ipod because the backup was corupt or not compatable with the ipod.
delete the backup file for this ipod, then try again.
Where is this file?
This started after updating itunes and to os5.

iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.
However, you can also delete it by going to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and delete the backup from there.

  • ITunes 10.5 iphone backup file location

    Hi,
Trying to backup my backup file for my iPhone before a total wipe of my phone.
Does anybody know where the backup file is located on my Macbook? I thought there was a mobilesync folder but i cant seem to find it anymore... Running 10.7.1 on Mac too.
    Thanks

This is an update to my original post...
I was able to install iTune 10.5 finally, but Apple Mobile Device Support will still not install (update actually). I restored my PC to an earlier state (before I first tried to install 10.5 the first time) and now my older version will not start since my iTunes library has been upgraded to the 10.5 format. I am really stuck here. I really want to get me music back since I have nearly 30 Gbs of music and movies I have burned from CDs. That does not even include my iTunes online purchases that I can easily revover/re-download.

  • Can TM Backup Files Located on G4 Running OS 10.4.11?

Purchased MyBook and utilized the WD Backup software in order to backup files located on G4 running 10.4.11. Since then, have purchased a G5 iMac running 10.6.5.
Before I reformat the MyBook in order to utilize TM to automatically backup the iMac, I'd like to ensure that I can also backup the G4 files using TM via File Sharing w/ethernet connection between the two computers.
If TM can't do this automatically, I am prepared to copy the files from the G4 "manually" over to the WD MyBook once it is reformated. Since I am using the G5 almost 100% of the time, I am mostly concerned about creating a single backup of the entire G4 (which is already on the WD MyBook but will be lost if I reformat).
What would be the best way to do that (creae a complete backup of the G4) if TM cannot be utilized?
    Thanks.

A G5 iMac can't run OS X 10.6.5. Either it's an Intel iMac or it's running (at most) OS X 10.5.x. From your system details, it seems to be running OS X 10.5.6, in which case your message should have been posted in the Leopard area instead of the Snow Leopard area.

You could divide that WD disk into two partitions. Use one with Time Machine to back up the iMac. When you want to back up the G4, turn off Time Machine, dismount the WD disk, then use SuperDuper! (http://www.shirt-pocket.com/) or Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com/) to make a "clone" backup of the G4. After the backup is complete, dismount the WD disk, mount it on the G5, then turn Time Machine back on.

If the iPhone's backup is in the same location as Vista with Windows 7, this link provides where the iPhone backup is located with XP and Vista.

  • IPhone automatic backup file location while upgrading to iOS 5

I need to know where is located the iPhone automatic backup file created by iTunes while upgrading iPhone to iOS 5 via  iTunes 10.5.2.11 / Windows XP.  Itunes creates automatically a backup of iPhone before upgrading and will restore this backup after upgrade is completed.  I need to know where to find this backup file.
I just upgraded iPhone to iOS 5 via iTunes on Windows XP.  I forgot to make my own iPhone backup before upgrading.  After upgrading and restoring iPhone (the automaitc backup), iTunes started a sync with Outlook even tough I had checked in iTunes "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically".
I did  not wish iTunes to sync with Outlook, and cancelled the sync.  Now I got a lot of stuff mixed up in my iPhone and I would like to restore my iPhone with the automatic backup created by iTunes before upgrading to iOS 5.  This backup doesn't show in the backups listed in iTunes / device backups.
    Thank you.

Had same problem, but IOS 5.0.1 can't find automatic backup on my laptop, not sure if it excists?

  • Backup file location

In itunes 9.2.1.5 where are the backup files for mobile devices (ipod & iphone)located?

    Hello beachgeek,
From the Apple support document provided below:
"The folder where your backup data is stored changes depending on the computer's operating system. Since iTunes only keeps one backup per device, you should ensure the backup folder is included in your periodic data backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    * Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    * Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    * Windows Vista: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\"

  • I Lost Power to my PC while in Acrobat Reader and lost data, where is temp file located?

I lost power to my pc while typing a new acrobat reader file but never saved it, where is the default temp file located, if this exists? Thanks.

The answer to your question depends upon your version of Reader and your OS. Especially since the last version of Acrobat Reader was version 5 which is four majors versions ago. The last four versions have been called Adobe Reader, not Acrobat Reader. This the forum for the Acrobat commericial product, not the free reader product.
PDF files cannot be edited in Reader and fields filled in with Reader cannot be saved (unless especially enabled) canot be re-opened from the temp files. To make a long story short. You will need to re-type the information.
Sorry to be the bearer of the sad news.

thank you!Instead of moving if you want to register those backups with your controlfile. (RMAN repository)
    then
    $rman target /
    RMAN> catalog start with 'location';
It will search for backup pieces in that location, and it prompts you for confirmation with YES/NO.
Give yes, so that all the files will be cataloged, Later you can able to view in list backup.

  • Ipad backup file location?

After backing up an ipad using ITUNES on a PC running Windows 7, where does the file get stored (path)?  Is it a single file?

    It's underneath :
    \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
There will be one folder under that directory for each devie that you backup on that computer - and there are multiple files which (probably) won't make any sense except to iTunes itself.

  • Ipad Backup file location on Mac?

I've read the forums and tried going to the (user)/library/application support/mobilesync folder but the mobile sync folder doesn't exist in my application support folder.  Is there another location other than that where itunes stores the backups on a Mac?

Chris - apologies - after posting this i continued searching and found out how to make the folder/files visible.  So I've found the folder but now have multiple files and aren't sure which to delete.
In answer to your first question, if I go into iTunes, devices, delete the backup, say OK and then recheck, the backup is there again.
Within the backup directory I have numerous files, none of which match (date) to my backup.  I have numerous devices backing up (2 ipads, 2 iphones, 1 itouch, 1 ipod and old backups from prior iphones).  The backups have multipler folders each with a many character name (b215e2d....27dfa).  I thought perhaps it tied to the s/n of the unit but that doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas?  Having an issue where my iPad won't back up - items will sync but the ipad won't backup when connected.
    thanks...bill

  • How to spool file to where start script file located

I'm writing a sqlplus script, eg. runMe.sql, which is going to run in customer env, will generate some data files eg. result.csv.
By specify location such as 'spool /certain/path/on/disk/result.csv', I can spool to any path I want. However, my concern is  below:
    1. We gets many customers and the script might be run under different location.
    2. I don't know where customer would save the script, furthermore, I don't want customer to input location manually every time.
    3. Generally, customer would run the script something like "sqlplus username/password@sid @/certain/path/on/disk/runMe.sql". They don't want to pass any parameter at run time.
    4. I wanna spool file to "/certain/path/on/disk" automatically, as a result, result.csv file would appear under same path with runMe.sql.
    5. I tried "spool ./result.csv" but it navigate to where sqlplus session is running.
    6. Also tried &0 etc, but make no sense.
Can anyone tell me how to obtain start running script file path in sqlplus script(runMe.sql) ? Just like access command parameters under Linux.
$0 is the name of the command
    $1 first parameter
    $2 second parameter
    $3 third parameter etc. etc
    $# total number of parameters
$@ all the parameters will be listed
    Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for SQLPATH ?
A good and clear example by Paul @ https://forums.oracle.com/message/3727891
In this way your customer has to set one environment variable SQLPATH=/location/of/script/file/where/they/put/your/runMe.sql and just say :
    spool %sqlpath%\result.csv
in your runMe.sql.  So, runMe.sql and result.csv will be on SQLPATH location.
