Where is backup located ?

Anyone know where a Mac stores the iPhone backup? I'd like to back it up to a cd if I happen to have to restore my Mac on a future date.
Also, where does a Mac store the restore iPhone program it downloads when restoring the iPhone for the very first time...

Wow - there are 4277 files in that folder! (~500Mb)...of those, only 433 files (~100mb) are from yesterday when I last backed up my iPod Touch. I'll save all of them, just in case.
I'm currently using an iPod Touch, with iTunes 7.7.1.11 on WinXP 32bit, but I'm moving over to Vista Ultimate 64bit.

I am fairly new to using Apple products but I now own an iPad 3. I am working with the newest version of iTunes and have reset the backup from iCloud to "this computer". My husband's phone keeps getting a notice "MDN changed" for backup assistant and asks for a pin # to fix same. Where do I locate this pin #?? We are older and not of the computer generation--appreciate help from younger and wiser folks!

Have you tried clearing the pin from phone by going to
Settings
Apps
All
Sync Services and clear data and cache
After doing this you should be prompted to re enter info when Back Up Assistant app is opened again.

When the archive disk group and RMAN backup location is full

Sometimes I am faced with a situation where the disk group meant for storing archivelogs is full and the Disk based
RMAN backup location is full as well. What would you do in such a situation ?
This usually happens with our QA/UAT DBs during apps testing of certain type which causes huge amount of redo is generated.
We don't directly backup to tape. The disk based backups are moved to tape every two weeks by our SysAdmin.

If I have free space left in my local filesystem in any of the nodes in my 2-node RAC, I can run something like

BACKUP AS COMPRESSED BACKUPSET ARCHIVELOG ALL DELETE INPUT format '/localNode_pATH/ora_Arch%t_s%s_s%p';and later when the space is freed up in the original RMAN backup location , I can move it there and use CATALOG command to catalog this backup . Right ?

Set Backup Location Repeatedly Fails

I had to shoot my initial TM backup in the head when I realized I really wanted to do it with an ethernet cable attached and not over 802.11.g. But, having cancelled that initial attempt, I could never get the TM preferences pane to accept my choice of backup disk (even though it had accepted it the first time). After many frustrating attempts at rebooting ... even re-installing Leopard ... some other post here alerted me to the /var/log/system.log file, where I discovered TM was failing to update its Keychain (think KeychainAccess.app) with my backup location choice. The system keychain is at: /Library/Keychains/System.keychain. I sorted by "time modified" and saw the entry which had been corrupted. Clicked on it. Pushed the delete key. Now working like a charm.
Just posting this in case it might assist you as well. /var/log/system.log file ... a good spot to look if you are having problems.

What kind of backup are you using? RMAN , EXP, EXPDP ?
This parameter specifies the default location for the flash recovery area.
If you just want to change this parameter do this:
SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST='/new_path'

They usually come PC Formatted for Fat32/MSdos, or NTFS... is there anything on it now?

Where are files located

I recently had to wipe my hard drive and now I'm in the process of reinstalling all my software and what not. Before doing this I backed up my whole drive using Norton Ghost and saved it to a second hard drive along with all of my music files. However I would like to know what files in itunes contain my library and playslists, and where they are located. Can anybody help me?

If you mean the hexidecimal equivalent of the alphanumeric password, then you can find this via the AirPort Utility, as follows:
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup
On the AirPort Utility's menubar select Base Station > Equivalent Network Password
