Where is best place to save xcode projects?

Hi,
I am a newbie on xcode and before I start I have a general question where to save xcode projects the best way?
Best regards,
Thomas

Use whatever is convienient for your skills, resources, budget. Do it now...don't wait and don't use something that you'll just ignore later and stop using.
At least put up a Time Machine backup...other than that, if you're familiar with SVN/GIT, you can search Xcode Help on: resources ...to see details of putting those into place, etc.

  • Where  is the best place to save my projects?

I dont know if I have been saving my Project right but I also have a external hard drives and I thought I was saving it their but I check it today and their is nothing on it . Where is the best place to save it or do I even need the external hard drive? Thanks

No idea what you might have done wrong...
By default your projects are saved in Macintosh HD/Users/~<name>/Music/Logic/ folder on your boot drive. Check it first.
You can also try to open your project again using recent files list in Finder or in Logic itself. Then you can find the exact location of your project folder: in the Arrange select an Audio region and go Audio -> Show Selected File(s) in Finder. This will open Audio Files folder in the project folder (well, this will work only if external files are included in the project's assets).
Another method will be using Spotlight (click on magnifying glass icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to open Spotlight and type in your the name under which you saved your project).

  • Best place to store FCPX projects?

I wanted to find out where is the best place to store FCPX projects? I import the footage/audio to a external harddrive, but save the projects/render files to computer harddrive. Should I save the projects to the external harddrive where the footage is? Or does it even matter?

See this post from this forum.

Where is best place to buy battery for macbook pro?
Usually from Apple, unless they don't carry it anymore then you'll have to go to a third party source.
Apple has to replace the newer internal batteries usually, so if your machine is more recent you'll have to go to them, also to stay under the warranty/AppleCare.

You can call your wireless provider and talk to them about it.
You can restart your iphone, reset, your iphone and restore your iphone.

  • Where is best place to make settings for printing on 8"x10" paper?

Does PS interpolate (scale?) my final print image when I set the size paper I'm printing to? I would like to avoid that.
I want to combine several photos into a single image and print on 8"x10" paper w. 1/2" borders. Where is the best place to make these settings in CS6?
Do I set my canvas dimensions in the "New File" dialogue box to Width: 7 inches and Height: 9; and then choose 8 x 10 paper size when printing, which leaves 1" for borders?  Or do I go to "Image Size" and make the settings there? Or in the Print Dialogue box?  Thanks.

I would suggest the Print Dialog. Here your printer would be set to 8 x10 paper (borderless),but in the print dialog under "Scaled Print Size",you would set the print size you want without resampling.
At least that's what I would do for a single project. Start by checking "Scale to fit media" so that you start with the entire image.
Keep "centered" checked. Then uncheck "Scale to fit Media" and dial in your settings.

  • Best way to save iMovie Projects

I am using iMovieHD and have about 50 hours of video to import and then to save. I recently bought a LaCie 250G hard drive. I do not know the best way to save these movies which I have imported and edited but since they are in effect out family treasury I would like a good quality. I can al;ways make new iDVDs from the edited iMovie so assume I will not need to save the iDVD projects. Any recommendations?

I think Apple should post some BIG ads to make some things clear
    Hi Hunting,
"Quciktime" is not a format nor a compression method; QT is "just" a socalled container or warpper, containing many media formats (the .mov suffix is irritating people...), have a look here for an overview how many formats 6 codecs are a "Quicktime" file...
... mpeg4 is just one of them...
    to answer your question:
that depends MUCH on, what you want to do later with your stored movies:
    * dv is highest possible quality with iM files - but: 1h = ~12Gb !!
    * mpeg4 my personal favorite, good pic quality, small file size BUT! as any mpeg-"flavor", it is a lossy compression codec...- in case, you plan to make in two years a nice dvd, that lossy mpeg4 has to be converted into mpeg2 (another lossys format) ...
there are some dvd-standalone player on the market, able to playback ISO-conform mpeg4 files (not in a .mov container, but as .mp4....)
    * in case, you want re-edit, you need to store the iM-projects...
    * the new h.264 is a fanstatstic codec, but too new, as: you need fast Macs for playback and warp-fast Mac for encoding...
    summary/recommendation:
hd drives prices drop; I would store in .dv, three times bigger as a dvd (tento 20 times bigger then a mpeg4...) but best format for "post processing" (edits, dvd burns, website compression, switching to mpeg4, h.264....)
to add some silly ToolTime idea (call me Tim, I'm using it, short in money):
just for storage, you can buy 3,4,5 drives plus ONE empty fw-case; it is very easy to build a drive inside such case (two multi-pin cables); transfer files; build second hd into case... you just store the hds... looks silly, but works important: write onto some paper, what's on that drives...

I like these and wondered if eBay is the best place, where you just take your chances as to what you're going to get, or if there is a secret Mac supplier for excellent condition Alum P12" powerbooks?

  • Where's best place to get original Airport card?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me where's the best place to get an original Airport card? I've just bought a new iMac and want to connect my old eMac to it. I've got a BT Homehub wireless router but just need an original Airport card for the eMac downstairs. I'm a bit new to the computer game and just wondered if anyone could recommend a decent place to buy accessories.
    Thanks

Thank you guys for answering my question. I've just got one more now Will an American airport card still work on an English Apple Mac. I feel silly asking, as I'm sure it'd be fine, but I know American videos don't work in our players, and DVDs have different regions (although I've found the codes to stop that, he he). Thanks again. • Where is best place to store birthdays ?

Where is the best place to record people's birthdays  for the year ?  So I don't have to record every  year ?

I use the calendar that comes with your iPhone. It has a feature that allows you to repeat the event yearly, and it has reminders as well. For example; lets say my son's name is Sam.....I open the calendar to his birthdate, type in.."Sam Smith - B/D" (2000). I then show the event as an ALL DAY event, next I show it to REPEAT YEARLY, then I select a 1st re minder for one week earlier, and the 2nd reminder on the day of the event ( the default time is 9:00 AM....but you can change this>. Hope this info is helpful.

  • Reposting a question that didn't get answered in previous post: best preset to save mpeg project?

So it took me a week or so to get to try out the answer I'd gotten, & I couldn't get that answer to work, and then my follow-up question didn't get answered, which makes me wonder if threads & discussions kinda die if they're not kept up? (I'm not very experienced in how these forums work, apologies).  In case that is the case, I'm starting this new one, but refer you back to the old (unfinished) one.  Just scroll down to the last few exchanges to get the gist of it.  Thanks . . .  Mark
    the previous discussion:   http://forums.adobe.com/message/4663058

Steve--Sorry if this approach wasn't the best--as I said, I'm not well-versed in forum protocol-- but I did post it last week to the end of that discussion as you recommended but didn't get a response, so I wasn't sure how best to proceed from there.  Anyway, hopefully this works ok for you.  Here's a copy of the relevant exchange. I'd written:  "I'm using a Lumix DMC-ZS7 which, on the small test I did, was set to 640x480 & is a MOV file, and while the "correct" preset choice isn't there, there is probably a best choice among the many choices that are there, and that is my question--which should I choose for this particular clip at this resolution?  Both for quality & cross-platform usability?  The camera also has AVCHD Lite", whose specs read: -- SH: 17Mbps /H:13Mbps /L:9Mbps ) / 30fps (Motion JPEG)   1280x720 pixels, NTSC Mode: NTSC model: 60p(CCD output is 30p)."
You wrote back:  "Shoot in AVCHD Lite and, when you set up your Premiere Elements project, select the project settings for AVCHD Lite and you should get much better results.
Obviously, your video is not going to look perfect at full screen on a computer no matter what output settings you use. Your monitor is likely larger than 1280x720. But you should then be able to output using Share/Disc/WMV setting your output for 1280x720 using the Advanced settings."
And here's my follow-up, & hopefully final, question, from last week:
"Hi Steve-- I just now had time to try out your recommendation--and I will in the future shoot in AVCHD Lite--but for the existing mpeg stuff--I could not find the settings you recommended.  ("Obviously, your video is not going to look perfect at full screen on a computer no matter what output settings you use. Your monitor is likely larger than 1280x720. But you should then be able to output using Share/Disc/WMV setting your output for 1280x720 using the Advanced settings.")  Firstly, I took this to be your answer to my question of how best to save mpegs, not AVCHD Lite, am I right there?  Under Share/Disc I couldn't find any WMV settings whatsoever in any of the choices, nor was there any Advanced option.  Under Share/Computer there is the Advanced option--but again, I couldn't find a WMV setting.   I did find 1280x720 under the Share/Computer/mpeg presets, as a couple HD 720 options & three HDTV 720 options.  If indeed one of those is the best choice--which one?  Or is your original suggestion still the one, with its non-obvious location to be revealed?  (by the way, I've got Premiere v10.0).
Question 2-- when I do start using the AVCHD lite, is there any one preset you can advise as the best one to use?
    Thanks again--Mark
    and thanks again again--Mark

  • Best location to save projects in Captivate 6

I am currently saving all of my Captivate 6 projects to my C drive.  I wanted to make sure that this is the best place to save my main projects.  Also, what is a best practice to save the backup projects (is it ok to save them on a network drive?).
    Thank you,
    Christie

    Hi Christie,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
You can save your Projects anywhere on your machine as per your choice. However, it is always recommended to keep a backup or a copy of the project. You can save the backup projects anywhere (network drive or flash drive), but please make sure when you are working on your project it is copied locally to your computer. Because if you will work on the projects saved directly to the network drive you might face issues publishing them or working with them.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks!

  • Where is the best place to obtain US test cards so we can evaluate Apple Pay for UK in store retail?

We are in the process of evaluating whether Apple Pay is a viable payment option which we can offer our customer base in the UK.  As it is yet to arrive here in the UK we would be attempting a POC with US (apply pay friendly) test cards.  I imagine there are a few retailers doing the same, does anyone know where the best place to get suitable test cards?
    Regards
    Kevin

You would probably have to contact your POS supplier. This is a user to user support forum and I doubt anyone would have that information here.
FWIW, I have used Apple Pay on the contactless  POS terminals in London taxis, with my US issued credit cards. It works.

  • Best place for RAM?

Hi guys I was wondering where the best place to buy 2x 2gb ram sticks for my new mac book pro. I have seen some sites and was wondering why it was so cheap. Like I say some for 45 dollars. Thank you in advance for your time.

I have purchased RAM from them for four different Macs and it always been cheap and performed flawlessly. You can get 2x2GB for less than a hundred dollars -- I just did it last week.
