  • Where can i find mountain lion.

i want to uninstall and reinstall everything on my macbook but im not totally sure how it would work. i purchased mountain lion some years back from this website and i was told that anytime i wanted to reinstall it i could. however on signing in again all this time later i cant see where it is kept and i have even less of a clue how the uninstalling reinstalling process would work considering it is kept on the internet. any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Download the installer and quit it. You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program. This will allow you to boot from the USB and erase your hard drive.

  • Where is Idvd in Mountain Lion?

It doesn't seem to exist any more. So what do I use to burn an IMovie movie to a disk?
So is there no app on my Macbook Pro Retina with Mountain Lion that I can use to put IMovies on a disk??????
Seems really strange. I've made a movie and now I can't find a way to put it on a disk. And IMovie 11 ( I assume it's the latest) has a menu item that says Share to IDVD. If they don't sell it anymore, why is it there? And there are no other menu choices to burn a movie to a disk. ????????????????
    Thanks for any help

    Hi
Yes - refering to "Share to iDVD" is a stupid remnant as there is no iDVD on New Macs. (And it did a bad job too - Much better was to "Share to MediaBrowser" and as Large or Medium (Not HD as this too gave a bad result))
If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
    • iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay (or You may have it on a previous Mac)
    • DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
    • Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
    • Burn - only free alternative I know of on internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD
    Burn http://www.digital-digest.com/software/Burn.html
only You can buy from Apple is
    • FinalCut Pro-X which also can burn to DVD but without any nice themes.
    AppleMan1958
You can also buy Compressor from Apple for $50 US. It will also create DVD and BluRay but without the nice themes.

  • Where is airplay in mountain lion?

I just upgraded to mountain lion, but cannot make airplay work. It says it should appear in the task bar, I checked my apple TV and is connected to the same network as my mac book

It is in settings-display toward the bottom, but be advised
    AirPlay Mirroring
Requires a second-generation Apple TV or later. Supports the following Mac models:
    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

  • Where to download OSX Mountain Lion (now that Mavericks is out)?

I have a 2005 Macbook Pro Intel Core Duo running 10.7.5 and tried unsuccessfully to upgrade to Mavericks.  Because the Macbook is too old, Mavericks is not supported on it.
So given that, I'd like to upgrade the Macbook to the last version of OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.  But can't find it in the App store any more.  Is there someplace to download and install this older version for older computers like mine?

I called Apple Support Sales, 800-My-Apple, and their response was that while 10.9 Mavericks is free for download, those computers that cannot support 10.9, but are on 10.7.5 or earlier can PURCHASE 10.8 at $19.95.
I found this unfair, given that newer Macs can upgrade for free, but older ones have to pay to get an older version of the SW.  It looks like either I come up with $19.95, get a new MacBook Pro, or just stay with 10.7.5.
I don't think that this is good customer relations.

  • Where is the OSX Mountain Lion download for 19.99?

Looking for the download from apple store for $19.99 Mac OS X v 10.7 lion? should have been in as of Juky1, 2012?

Are you looking for Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8)?
Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) release is announced for sometime in July, not any particular data.  You just have to wait like the rest of us for a few more days at most.

  • Where can I download Mountain Lion?

I was about to upgrade my system from 10.6 to 10.8, but decided to wait for the new OSX announcement. I run professional applications(Pro Tools, FCP, Photoshop) that absolutely NEED to work. Currently, 10.9 isn't a stable platform for these applications from what I've heard, so I'm looking for 10.8.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or tell me that its completely unavailable, it'd be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    -Sean

You can't. Mavericks is the only available version of OS X. You can only update to 10.6.8. You may be able to obtain it or Lion by the following:
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion

If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
    B. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Where is Facebook on Mountain Lion?

I got the new OSX Mountain Lion and i cant find Facebook on it, please help.
    <Edited by host>

Provided you have 10.8.2, Facebook integration is in System Preferences - Mail, Contacts and Calendars. You can add a Facebook account there, and decide whether or not to import your Facebook contacts/thumbnails. You can configure Notifications separately in that preference panel.
