Where is cached email stored on ipod touch?

My friend saved some emails in the mail program on her 3rd gen ipod Touch. She no longer has access to the email address, but is able to view and print out the emails.
She would like to save them to her computer, so she has a full digital copy. Where are they stored on her ipod, and how does she access them to transfer them?

To clarify, I don't think the emails are actually -saved-.
She explains it that they are still in the email account, which she does NOT have the password to anymore. Once she realized she was kicked out of the email account, she turned off the ability for the ipod to check the account. (I think) It left her with access to look at the emails IN the account already, but no ability to forward them. She was able to print them (not sure how, she didn't say).
I know that all seems confusing, and honestly, I'm not even sure if that's exactly what she did.
I know she can view and print the emails. I know she keeps saying she doesn't have access to the email account. She also is unable to transfer the emails to a PDF on the ipod, or to her CPU.
Does that help any?

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

Find an app to which you can save the attachment and which also uses file sharing
    iOS: About File Sharing
or similar to get the music into your computer. Import into iTunes library and sync to the iPod. There is no direct way to get music into your iPod Music app besides purchasing  from iTunes or syncing from your iTunes library
GoodReader should work but I do not think it is available for the 2G

  • Is there any shop in texas ,austin where we can replace an old ipod touch 3G and get a new ipod touch 4G ??

Is there any shop in texas ,austin where we can replace an old ipod touch 3G and get a new ipod touch 4G ??
    pls help mee

Sorry but I am pretty sure there isn't a shop which offers such a service.
Apple stores offer a 14 day remorse period where you can return a purchase for a full refund without having to give a reason however this has probably expired - unless you bought from a different store with a similar system which you still happen to be within the time limit for.
Your best bet would be to sell your iPod 3G and put the money towards a new one. If you are having trouble selling it an Apple store will take it and give you 10% off a new iPod.

I read your entire message, and my mom's iPhone 5 does this exact same thing. When the idiot at the AT&T store transferred her data (well, most of it) to her new phone, he DID NOT use her latest iCloud backup like he should have, but used some features in "Bump" to move things across. So, in my opinion, it's not worth the hassle of restoring it as a new device as Tim suggests. That's just the easy answer. Here's something odd about hers. It seems to do this, when she's using her bluetooth earpiece (a Jawbone Icon), but not when she's got bluetooth disabled on the iPhone 5 and holding down the "Home" button to activate Siri. If she uses her Jawbone bluetooth earpiece to activate Siri, the answer that Siri presents on the phone's screen will only stay on for about five seconds, then dim, then go blank -- and she has to "swipe to unlock" and, of course, the Siri information is gone. Not so if she uses the Home key to activate Siri.

If I'm typing an email on an iphone 5 and get a call (and answer the call), where is the email stored... or have I lost it? Thanks!

Arrgggh! I figured it was gone, but I hoped there might be some gizmo magic. That really is a flaw you'd think the phone would be better at "multi-tasking" since I'm suing it for both calls and email. Thanks again!

  • Slow loading email on my iPod Touch 3rd gen

Email (from both AOL and Gmail) used to load pretty snappily on my iPod Touch. Lately it takes forever to check to see if I have mail. The OS is updated to whatever the "max" is for this particular vs. of iTouch. I've turned off notifications for just every app but Calendar, thinking the notifications might be causing the battery to work extra hard, but this hasn't helped. It seems the problem is often worse with Gmail, where I rarely delete anything from my inbox. Could that be contributing to the problem? Or is my iPod just old and tired? Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Andy

Thanks Clyde. I did as you suggested. Now my mail loads quickly sometimes, other times it still seems to take forever. Maybe I'm just getting impatient thee days, but I don't remember it ever taking long enough for me to have to set the device down and then check back a couple of times to see if it was done uploading mail. Could it simply be that so many more people are using the same bandwidth these days? Seems a little far-fetched to me, but who knows?

  • Need some help tweaking email sync between iPod Touch, MacBook Pro, please

I'm hoping there are some settings I can tweak to prevent any already downloaded mail in my MacBook Pro Mail app from being deleted when syncing to my iPod Touch.
For example, I had an email downloaded from an IMAP account onto my MacBook Pro Mail app. The email remained on the IMAP server. I ran a test drive of the iPod Touch for the first time, and it successfully downloaded the handful of items on the IMAP server. I deleted the email in question from the iPod. When I synched the two gadgets, the email also disappeared from my MacBook Pro.
Ideally, I want the MacBook Pro Mail to be the primary archive for all incoming and outgoing emails. When I retrieve email on my BlackBerry, the mail remains on the server - when it downloads to the MacBook Pro Mail app, it just appears with an "already read," no blue dot status. I'd like to use the iPod in the same fashion - to send and receive emails when I'm away from the laptop.
So, I guess the short version of the question is: How do I prevent mail that I delete from the iPod from also being deleted from the MBP?
    Thanks,
    Tim

I am confused. you can ony sync to one computer/iTunes libray.  You can manage music among different computer though.  See:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
What do you mean by "different user's name"?  Where is the user's name specified?
