Where is Clipboard

I have downloaded EtreCheck and have run it. Now it says to Save to Clipboard. When I go to Finder - Edit - show Clipboard only a line of text comes up.
When I take a screen shot they go into my Dropbox (not sure how that happened but ok with it). Any ideas what else I can do to try and find where the results of EtreCheck have gone? They are not on my desktop. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. Will try all of the above. Have had Macs for 3 years now and still find that some things are weird. As much as I don't like Windows now at least they had a visable clipboard.
And Barney, after I used  'Copy to Clipboard' I couldn't do anything - print, save, copy, paste etc. Everything just gave me a ting sound.
Then it did not copy correctly, which is probably why it didn't show in the clipboard.
I think I've looked at the clipboard contents about twice now on the Mac. Never on Windows. I can see looking at it if what you tried to paste didn't paste anything at all, but otherwise, why do you look at it?

• Where is Clipboard in Solaris 10

Hi Friends,
I am new to solaris (was previously worked in Windows XP). I want to see the clipboard.
This I need, because I had a problem while I do text copying.
Scenario:
I copied a url link from gedit and closed gedit BEFORE PASTING IN THE mozilla browser.
When i pasted, it is blank (as the clipboard become empty, since i closed gedit editor).
I wish to have a solution.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Parasou.

Yep, that's what happens. Don't close the source application until after you've completed the paste operation!

• IPhone 5 10S7 where is clipboard located?

I save things to clipboard but can't find it on my phone

There is no user-accessible clipboard file or app. If you copy or cut something, you get that cut/copied item by pasting it somewhere.
This is the iPod touch forum, by the way. Just FYI for future questions.

• Problem with the Clipboard after upgrade

We had been using Intermedia, along with the Clipboard and WebAgent in Oracle 8.1.5. A few days ago we upgraded to 8.1.6 (I performed the Intermedia upgrade as well). Oracle is Installed on a Solaris 7 server.
We installed everything into a new Oracle Home.
The code we had written using the Intermedia procedures and packages still works but now the CLIPBOARD is not working. The ClipBoard and Web Agent are installed on an NT server running IIS
Using the ClipBoard, when we we try to connect to the database we get the folliwng error:
ORA-12564: TNS connect refused
In the LISTENER.log on the server we see the following corresponding errors:
26-APR-2000 09:18:16 * (CONNECT_DATA=(SID=cadv)(ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/l1oradv/product/8.1.5)(SERVER=DEDICATED)(CID=(PROGRAM=C:\WINNT\System32\inetsrv\inetinfo.exe)(HOST=L10008016)(USER=IUSR_L10008016))) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=172.27.
125.68)(PORT=1206)) * establish * cadv * 1201
TNS-01201: Listener cannot find executable /u01/app/l1oradv/product/8.1.5/bin/oracle for SID cadv
The /u01 directory is the OLD Oracle home. I cannot figure out where the Clipboard is pulling that name from. I went through the tnsnames.ora on the client and the server and both point to the new Oracle home. I also went through the LISTENER.ora and there are no reference to the old Oracle home. On the NT Server where the Clipboard and Web Agent are installed I went through the wsc.cfg and everything looks good. There is no reference to the old Oracle home. I also verified the old listener is not running on the Solaris server.
Where could this be buried? Everything else (DBA Studio, SQL*Plus worksheet) is working from the same NT Server running the Clipboard. I cannot find where the old Oracle home reference is coming from.

Hi,
The Clipboard uses the Web Agent to connect
to the database, so it should be possible to
track this down just using the web agent.
The web agent itself is just a regular OCI
client application - it doesn't do anything
special when it comes to connecting to the
database, it just uses the SERVICE attribute
in the WSC.CFG file as a SQL*Net TNS service
name in TNSNAMES.ORA. The first thing to try
is to test the database agent being used by
the clipboard from a browser. Eg:
http://host/intermedia/<dbagent-NAME>/~test That should result in the same error message
being logged by the listener and should also
result in an error message being displayed
on the browser window.
To verify that the Web Agent is reading the
correct TNSNAMES.ORA, you can create another
database agent and include the entire
connection string as the service name instead
of using a TNS service name. This is probably
best done by editing WSC.CFG, creating a new
database agent by copying the existing one
and replacing the service name with the
connect string from TNSNAMES.ORA, making sure
the string is all on 1 line. For example:
[database_agent.sample-test]
service = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = mypc)(PORT = 1521)) )(CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = orcl) ) )
database_user = scott
database_password = tiger
authorized_request_class = retrieve
authorized_sql_statements = procedures
authorized_sql_procedures = *You can also verify the connection string
using SQL/Plus. For example:
sqlplus scott/tiger@"(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = mypc)(PORT = 1521)) )(CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = orcl) ) )"If the connection string works but the TNS
service name doesn't, then I suspect that the
web agent is looking at an old TNSNAMES.ORA
file. If so, its because an old file exists
in the PATH being used by IIS. Another
possible, though much less likely problem is
that there's an old OCI DLL and/or Oracle
home in the PATH used by IIS.

• N97 and clipboard...what is it??

I got N97 and i had a text message, opened options and sent it to clipboard. where is clipboard? whats the main use for clipboard? out of touch anyone explain uses?? Thanks Mark.

From what I understand, the o2hbmonitor utility monitors if the cluster is up by scanning files in the /sys/kernel/debug directory, which the kernel creates when you use the debugfs facility. If the debugfs files do not exist or configured thresholds exceed than o2hbmonitor prints a message. The files are all virtual and do not occupy any space similar to procfs and systemfs.

• How to get the merged bitmap data of a photoshop selection

Im creating a "Flash Panel" extension for a client and Im having some issues getting the bitmap data associated with the current selection. Origninally I thought I would use the WindowedApplication and have the BITMAP_FILE fileformat available within Photohop running the extension. This works to an extent but i am now running into an issue where the clipboard is returning an old copy of what was previously copied to the clipboard. To no avail was I able to force the getData property of the generalClipboard to return the "just copied" selection from the clipboard. However if I was to open a new photoshop document and paste the contents of the generalClipboard.copy() method into the new file I get what I expected the getData method to return. It seems that the getData() method from the generalClipboard object is always one step behind.
Am I doing something wrong here, or is there another way to get the bitmap data associated with a current selection within photohop?
Andy help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm 214 years old, I completely forgot! I hope to have provided good answers at least

PS
Actually, the Ps-scripts thread is basically about a PC issue (copy&paste code working as a script, not working within a panel).
Here I'm (too) facing a weird complication. Like mcgaryes said, the Clipboard is one step behind (or not working at all if you first perform a clear) - while the paste command keeps working as expected (at least to me, on a Mac).
So you can copy (to the Clipboard), paste (from the Clipboard), yet the Clipboard can't be accessed at all as Bitmapdata:
Clipboard.generalClipboard.getData(ClipboardFormats.BITMAP_FORMAT) as BitmapData;
or in the best case, due to some unknown problem, it's not updated.

• Attributes for insertString() on DefaultStyledDocument

I used a default styled document for a program I'm writing and didn't set any attributes so when I tried using the insertString() method it wouldn't let me leave the attributes part blank. I thought doing that would just use default attributes or something. I found some instructions on how to make a simple attribute set (I didn't write my own because I wanted to save space and it's not a program that needs different fonts and sizes etc) and I tried to use copyAttributes() method to copy the original attributes, but I couldn't find anything of how to get that to work. Can anyone help? It's quite a large ammount of code to paste here so I want to avoid having to post te whole thing.

OK, it works in places that aren't in insertUpdate, changeUpdate or remove update. I tried to put it in the insertUpdate method of the document listener and I got this error:

I wanted to have something where it checks if the contents of the document are a specific phrase and then of so, swaps it for something else. Would insertString work in a paste event listner? Instead of pasting directly from the clipboard I want it to put the contents of the clipboard into a string field, filter that so it's only hex characters and paste what's in the string field where the clipboard contents would have gone.

• Screenshots saved to clipboard??? Where are they?!

I took a couple screenshots, and I realized that I had been saving them to something called a clipboard... I couldn't find much on Google about it. SO I decided to ask here. i did using ControlCommand+shift3. Where can I find these pictures???
-PC_2Mac

the shortcut is command shift 3 if you want an img file, it saves it to your desktop.
command shift 4 gives you crosshairs to draw a custom region on the screen..
& tapping spacebar after the above combo gives you the camera feature - clicking on a window or menu item gives you just that item without a background.
the clipboard shots are only temporary, you'll need to paste them into a document.

• Where Photoshop CS6 exports the clipboard and how to delete it

Hello, I have a problem with Photoshop CS6. I made one big file (350x300cm) and I worked a long on it. When closed Photoshop I saw a message "Exporting clipboard" and it was very slow operation. Then, when I looked to my D part of Hard disc it was 2-3 GB less. On the next day, after work with the file - my D part was 1 GB less. Where Photoshop export clipboard? How to free up the space? I saved the file in C part of hard drive and C is scratch disc, Photoshop and my OS are installed on C, so why from D disappear space? Can you help me to bring back these lost space? I can't see any new files to delete. Where are this exported?
I am working on Windows 8 64-bit.

When Photoshop "exports the clipboard" it puts the contents of the separate Photoshop clipboard on the operating system clipboard. You can purge it by going to a text-based application, selecting a single character and and pressing Ctrl+C. A search of your drives for *.tmp (and delete found files) should get you some of that disk space back.
While Photoshop is running, you can purge the Photoshop clipboard by choosing Edit > Purrge > Clipboard (or All).
To prevent clipboard export every time Photoshop shuts down, deselect Export Clipboard in Preferences > General.

• Where is the temporary file while copying a pdf to the Clipboard?

When one does a Ctrl+A/Ctrl+C with a very large pdf, the Clipboard does not get populated until the progress bar completes. Where are the bytes going during the interim?

• HT4061 When I tap the screen and the button copy appears where does it copy too? If its to clipboard where do I find it?

Hi,
When I tap the screen and the copy button appears if I copy to clipboard where do I find clipboard and can I save it to a folder?

Hi
When you tap the text and the blue copy command appears... you must TAP the copy command to invoke it.
You can save it anywhere that you can paste something.  Go to that place and tap again and the paste command should appear , then TAP paste.
I use Notes as a convenient temporary storage if I am not going to paste it right away and before I forget what I have copied!
Clipboard?  I think of the clipboard as being my fingernail on my tapping finger!

• Where can i get a good clipboard for basic text

The imac clipboard is a big disapointment (compared to my previous "Windows" clipboard). All I am copying is plain text, but I always found it handy to load up the clipboard, then move to a new document & pick & choose from the open clipboard. Nothing doing with my new Imac. Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

Try a search at the Mac App Store or at a download site such as MacUpdate:

• Where do I find clipboard?

Trying to copy url/ HTML code to clipboard, how do I do this?
A dumb question I know, appreciate some help.
Thanks.
Ronnie.

Try doing a web search, lots of demos, videos, & tutorials out there.
eg http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+copy+and+paste <-- click link --
You may select the text by highlighting it with a mouse, or another method, in my suggestion above it was using Ctrl+A to select all of the text in the Post a Reply box. (You need to type a word or two so you have something to copy, and you need to have the mouse cursor in that box)
Instead You could have copied the text from say the location bar, maybe by placing the cursor there and right clicking on the content in the location bar and using the option ''copy'' after you right clicked.

• Pasting Image  from Mac clipboard to Java Based Application.

Hi,
I am working on "iMac 10.2.7". I need to paste an image from other
application using "Java version 1.4.1". I am trying to retrieve the image
from the system clipboard after it is copied from some other application. I
am pasting the code which illustrates my requirement. It works fine on
windows. But does not work on Mac.
On Mac it does not cross the supported data flavor check
(clipData.isDataFlavorSupported(DataFlavor.imageFlavor) where clipData is
the Transferable object). It seems Mac has some InputStream instead of Image
in the clipboard when some image is copied. I tried to read that InputStream
using ImageIO.read(java.io.InputStream). But that is also returning null.
Thanks
