Where is Contact Sheet II in CS4?

Just upgraded to CS4 and cannot find Contact Sheet II under File>Automate. Went back to my old CS and pulled up the feature only to find out that when I went under Source Images> Folders>Choose... the chosen folder has all the photos grayed out.I'm on a MacBook Pro.
Help requested.

Ann-
I am aware that one can still create Contact Sheets, which is why I referenced
removing existing
UI
functionality rather than simply stating Contact Sheet functionality was removed. Removing an existing simple step and making one learn a new way or go find out about a plugin is by definition a
loss of existing UI functionality.
Such changes are negatives for some upgraders, and add to the high price as reasons to stick with CS3. Note that all the other new methods could have been added without removing the established method.

  • Image sequence for contact sheets in Bridge CS4

I have been used to Contact Sheet in Photoshop but am now trying the Output option in Bridge. How can I change the order the photos appear on the sheet? Most are landscape format but a few are portrait and I would like to have the portrait format images all together and I don't see a way to effect what photos go where on the sheet. Is there a way? I also could only see the first of the two contact sheets. I'm sure there is an obvious way to review all but I haven't discovered how.
    Thanks.

The preview in Bridge is limited to conserve resources. To see the whole thing, save the file and look at it.
You can always quickly redo it if you want to make changes.
Drag the thumbnails in the content pane to change the order.

  • Contact sheets in Bridge CS4

I have been unable to make contact sheets in Adobe Bridge CS4. When I click on OUTPUT the field is empty. With Bridge CS3 this field had the refresh button and allowed customized contact sheets. What have I done wrong and how can I fix the problem? Thank you.

I think contact sheet was eliminated in CS4 and 5 and brought back in 6.  Might have to load it as plugin, might have been in accessory part of your install disk, or can find it on web.

  • Where is Contact Sheet in CS5 or will it be available?

Once again the new version has dumped "contact sheet" script, something I use a lot. Will it be available in the future as a download.
It would seem to be a simple thing.

Most people who are looking for Contact Sheet in CS5 and who had to get the plug-in for CS4 are being quite polite about
Contact Sheet's absence, but I will not be so nice. It is inexcusable that it was ever taken away. I know it's someplace else,
buried in the menus and requiring several steps to use it. That's pathetic, Adobe. It was perfect the way it was. You should
put it back into File>Automate and leave it there. Forever. And ever. (...fist pounding on desk...)

  • Contact Sheet for InDesign CS4 Available now

There has been a significant discussion on the lack of a Contact Sheet for InDesign in CS4.
I have written and, a few minutes ago, released a CS4 version on my site: www.creativescripting.net

There's something going on with the system if the profile check is taking two hours. How much free space is left on the hard drive?
Is there some sort of minimum-required configuration you can boot to, similar to running MSconfig in XP and turning off startup programs and non-Microsoft services? It really sounds like there is still something running in the background that is conflicting. You are certain that anti-virus is not running? I'd also be sure that no browser toolbars are loaded, nor any instant messenger or music programs, and have a local printer, rather than a network printer, set as the default and online.

  • How to include ratings in contact sheets in Bridge CS4??

I'm trying to find out how to include my ratings and labels in a contact sheet, to share that with someone who is not going to use Bridge but ideally just a PDF. Is that at all possible? Thanks!

    Is that at all possible?
To my knowledge not in the AOM settings, the options inhere are still a bit limited. But you can use the sort order for rating and in combination with batch rename you could be a bit creative by adding a mark like 1 star or 2 stars to the filename for the selected files. Or use same rated files per page.

  • Title information on contact sheets, output to JPG in Bridge CS4

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to find a place to add an overall Project Title and other general information in the contact sheet for Bridge CS4. There are the two overlays you can add for filename and extension, but that's it (and those aren't customizable). The watermark option puts text in the center of the page, and I'd prefer it in an upper corner instead, with the option for multiple lines.
Also, are the only 2 output options PDF and web gallery? I'd prefer JPG.

First, for jpeg you will have to use the old Contact sheet script for CS3.
If you want so you can copy this script to the CS4 (I even believe it is in
the goodie map that is on your installation disk for CS4.)
But to be honest, my first reaction in missing jpegs was the same but after
some experience with AOM contact sheets as PDF I really started to love them
It sounds you have not update Adobe Output Module, if using the latest
version you will have a Header and Footer section where you can add a title
    and page number.
For the placement options of the watermark you should file a feature request
(main Bridge forum page at the right side column under section 'links'
Check this link for an update for AOM.

Hope the links works otherwise search the adobe site for update Output
Module Mac and you will get there.

  • Putting Text with Contact Sheet in CS4

    Hello,
I have read numerous posts, I have seen an online tutorial, in terms of how the Contact Sheet feature was moved in CS 4.....I did manage to find it, however, I do find myself with a question...
I am submitting images to a magazine Photo Editor, and they require a contact sheet to be submitted along with the images. On the contact sheet they want the FILE NAME, and also the Species Name (I am shooting wildlife), and also a quick mention of the geographic area in the US where it was shot.....
As I said, I found the Contact Sheet part in CS4, and I see where I can list an overall Header or Footer on the overall Contact sheet page, but I do not
see anywhere (I apologize ahead of time if I am overlooking this in some obvious place), I do not see anywhere, where, I can go to the individual images, and, in addition to the File names, put the kind of text information that I just mentioned above.
Way back in CS3, the Contact sheet function actually generated a Layered PS File, with the images and the text for the images, as separate layers, and you could actually go in and type custom text into the Text portion below the image, but that does not seem to be the case at all in CS4.
Surely this is doable somehow for me to add custom text to the images on my Contact sheet, beyond merely the file names? If not in Photoshop, is anyone aware of any 3rd party Contact Sheet software that will allow me to do this? This is a national publication that puts out about 40 magazines, so I cannot be the first to run into this problem.
Any help you can give me ( in terms of a detailed explanation of how to do this) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all, and have a great day!
    John

I haven't used it myself but you could check out

  • Selecting multiple folders to make a contact sheet

When creating a contact sheet in Bridge CS4, is it possible to select multiple folders so that you can pull multiple images? I tried saving a contact sheet pdf while selecting the folders, but Bridge is requesting that I select the files within the folder. It would seem counterproductive to extract all my images from all the folders to place them in a single location just to make a contact sheet. I hope I'm just missing something basic.
    Thanks

The only thing I can think of for this purpose is to use the option to show
items from subfolders (in the View menu) and have a flat view for the whole
content of the mainfolder containing the desired subfolders.
If you have only a view items from subfolders instead of the whole content
from that subfolder you are bound to use either labeling or rating and
    select them with filterpanel options.
And there is some other thing that comes to my mind, open them in PS and
choose the option to create contactsheet from open files.
However it is to my knowledge not possible to select items from different
folders in one time, neither in Finder, nor in Bridge.
When creating a contact sheet in Bridge CS4, is it possible to select multiple
folders so that you can pull multiple images? I tried saving a contact sheet
pdf while selecting the folders, but Bridge is requesting that I select the
files within the folder. It would seem counterproductive to extract all my
images from all the folders to place them in a single location just to make a
contact sheet. I hope I'm just missing something basic.

  • Metadata in Contact Sheet

Adobe removed the Indesign Contact Sheet Script in CS4 and replace it by a buildin pdf contactsheet maker they claim superior but they forgot one thing very important, ability to insert custom metadata as caption. Without that feature, it's for me nearly useless.

Hey guys, I just thought I'd pass on some hopeful info. Bob Stucky had been working on a revised, rewritten-from-the-ground-up version of the InDesign Contact Sheet script for CS4. Earlier in the year he released a beta version to those of us that forked out a couple bucks ($25). I currently use it to produce my customized contact sheets. I'm not sure on the status of the project and recently fired off a quick email to him to find out.
You can check out my blog entry on the topic, including the customized templates I built. These work in CS3 as well...

  • CS4 Bridge - Image and Contact Sheet Problems (Windoze)

Problem #1: Out of shear chance, the first directory that I picked on that contains press images, resulted in Bridge not displaying thumbnails, or even being able to work with the image, because Bridge declares that the JPEG file is not a JPEG image. But, here is the kicker, when creating the thumbnails, it does briefly display a thumbnail before replacing it with the JPEG icon. There is nothing wrong with the images as Photoshop CS4 has no problem working with the same images. Double-clicking on the JPEG icon in Bridge results is it calling Photoshop to display the image. Lastly the images were created with Photoshop CS3 on a MAC, as indicated in the EXIF data. I haven't tracked down a pattern yet, as I just installed the software last night. Even so, there is no way that Bridge should have trouble reading CS3 produced JPEG images, but it does.
Problem #2: With the old contact sheet method, one could tell the plugin to include all sub-directories. I can't find a way to get Bridge to do the same thing. If it is there, it certainly is not user friendly. There was nothing online, or in the manual, about how to do that. While I like the idea of producing a PDF of the contact sheets, getting there is not so simple. I'm new to Bridge, having never having the need to use it prior to this release.
Any help with these two problems will be appreciated.

If Bridge can not show the thumbnail, Output workspace can not generate the PDF or web gallery for this image. Because it use the Bridge's DOM to process those images.
For the subfolder issue, you could use the Bridge's 'Show Items from sub-folder'. You could find this option from the directly path list at the tool bar, or from Menu View->Show Items from submenu.

  • CS4 what happened to Contact Sheet II under Automate?

Just installed CS4 and was checking to make sure all the things I use on a regular basis is there. It seems that the Contact Sheet II has been removed. I found it up here on the download extra plug-in page but still didn't show up when I downloaded the plug-in. Thought I installed them correctly, but maybe not. Need this badly, use it for printing out thumbnails of all photo shoots. Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks, Linda

Hmmm, I didn't know the Output in Bridge was there. Need to check that out. Thanks guys for the heads up on that. If that doesn't work out I'll try to figure out how to install the contact sheet. Or, I could just leave CS3 on the computer and run the contact sheets in there. That might be the easiest solution for now at least until I get Output figured out.
    Thanks guys
I have another question about Bridge. I was trying to change the file extensions from psd to jpg on numerous images in Batch Rename and couldn't get it to work. I tried this in CS3 alsoto no avail. When I attempted it in CS3 the images would not show up in Bridge or open in Photoshop. All that showed was a windows icon and I got a "won't open because of program error" when I tried to open them. Now in CS4 I'm getting the thumbnails of the changed files in bridge, but still getting a won't open message in Photoshop when I try to open one. Will this work or am I doing something wrong?

  • Missing "Contact Sheet II" fix for CS4

Somewhere I saw a missing "Contact Sheet II" fix for CS4. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
The PDF contact in CS4 is not flexable and is very limited. You can't see it in Bridge or make changes like you can to a jpg contact sheet.
