Where is delete button on mail notifications in Mavericks?

I've upgraded my late 2008 Macbook to Mavericks.  I was excited to be able to delete emails directly from the pop up notifications.  Instead the notifications are worse.  Before I could open the email or close the notification.  Now the two choices are close or replay so I can't even just go to read them.
Where is the delete button that I see in everyone's screenshots of the mail notifications?  Does it only work with icloud mail?

http://www.apple.com/osx/whats-new/features.html#notifications
Even on this page it says...
Mail notifications
Notifications from Mail include a reply and delete button so you can act on them without leaving the app you are in.

  • Where is delete button?

I looked through at help screens and FAQs. My delete button is no where. How do I get it back?

You are right, I don't see a delete button either. But if you want to delete a mail, I assume this is what you mean, you can do either:
    * Use the Delete button of your keyboard,
    * right-click on the mail you want to delete, select "Delete Message".
If you really want the delete button back on your toolbar, you might want to [[How to Customize Toolbars|customize your toolbar(s)]] and drag the Delete button to a toolbar.

  • No delete button for mail

I have just updated the firmware to OS4.1 and the delete button has totally disappeared from Mail. Theres a new Edit feature at inbox level which you can pick up multiple emails as in messages but still no ability to delete the emails.......anyone else got this?

I have the same problem with my gmail account.
With 4.02 I was able to delete a message either with the button or swiping on the message, after upgrading to 4.1 the action is "archive" rather than delete.
    edit:
Thanks to a guy on this forum I found the solution on another thread.
You have to go to the gmail account settings and turn "Archive messages" OFF then is possible to delete messages

  • Lost delete button on mail

lost delete button function on mail

Close out of the mail app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • Wheres my send button? Mail problems..

This is something strange, that I have tried to get help to solve.
About 2 months after I installed Leopard, the Mail application gave up. My "Send" button has disappeared, gone, away and I have tried everything possible to solve it but its seems impossible. So i've changed to Thunderbird for the moment until Mail could be fixed, and the funny thing is that thunderbird has the same settings as Mail and it works.
I have checked for misspelling and all that but Mail actually worked for 2 months but just gave up after an update from Apple. Getting the Mail works fine, its just when composing one. If your composing an email, the field where you select the email account you wish to send from is in red typing, both my .Mac account and my work mail. The "Send" button that is supposed to be at the left is nowhere to be found...
I installed iAlertU a week ago and its able to send its cam captures trough Mail, which seems a bit strange to me.
    Please, anyone... I need help...

As far as I remember, the account being red in the menu means a misconfiguration of the account. Verify that you have everything configured, especially SMTP server, if missing, will prevent Mail.app to send your message.
About the Send button, if not related to a misconfiguration of the account, may be just caused by the button being deleted from the toolbar, which is configurable.
    1. If the toolbar on top of the message window is not displayed, display it with the little button on the top right of the window.
    2. Right click, or control click on an empty space of the toolbar, and choose "Customize Toolbar"
    3. Find the "Send" Button here, and place it where you want in the toolbar, by drag and drop.
    I hope that helps

  • How can I get a "Confirm delete button inside mail"?

So that I don't accidently hit wrong button and delete a message or more?

So that I don't accidently hit wrong button and delete a message or more?
I don't think you can (provide Apple with your suggestion)
However if you do make a mistake for most set ups you will find the deleted message in the trash and can simply drag it back to the mail box yo want it in

  • How to set the "delete" button in Mail to actually delete instead if Archive Google Mail messages...

I know these kinds of questions are asked a lot, but I just wanted to ask my specific question for a nice specific answer.
I understand Gmail's thoughts on archiving and labels, but it makes gmail a beast to work with on mail clients.  I FINALLY have everything set up perfectly on my Mac's Mail app so that everything syncs and I get no duplicate messages.
The only issue I have is that when I highlight emails and press the "trash" icon in the toolbar (and hit the delete key I assume) the message(s) is/are archived in the All Mail folder instead of going into the "Trash" folder.  The only way I can truly delete messages is to drag and drop them into the Gmail/Trash folder in the side bar, which can get tedious.
Is there anyway to set the "delete" icon and delete key to actually send messages to the trash instead if archiving without causing syncing issues, or do I just need to stick with the drag and drop method?
    Thank you.

  • Delete Button in SRM Administration Role

    Hello All,
We have implemented the SRM7.0 (Extended Classic) and we have a requirement where the Delete button in the Shopping Cart Monitor to be hided only for the end users.
The Delete(Button to delete the Shopping Cart row when we do the search) has to be enabled for the Administrator like Key Users.
If we do the customization its a global change and the administrator is also not able to get the Delete option.
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    Senthil Kumar S.

    Hello Senthil,
you could do this dynamically via AppCC (Application Configuration Controller) or feeder class.
Inside there you can ask whether the current user has the appropriate authorization - if yes, you can enable the button or make it visible.
Just via configuration you don't have any possibilities for 7.02. A new feature within FPM in 7.31 are the Context Based Adaptatations (CBAs) - there you have the possibility to adapt one floorplan/GUIBB configuration to your own defined contexts (e.g. Roles, Countries, ...).
    Best regards,

  • Broken Delete button in Dynamic Form. For the ADDT gurus!

I have a feeling i may be at Günter's mercy on this one. Hope you have time to look at this; of course for any and all, the same applies!
I have a dynamic list which i spent quite a lot of time with - rearranging elements within the ADDT generated KT_tng table. Just moving one recordset piece can take up to 30 seconds, so it takes QUITE a while with a lot of data to move.
Anyways, i seem to have "broken" the delete button in mine. I hope someone can help me fix it, i really dont have time to redo all the changes i did to the dynamic list layout. (i did test as i went to make sure i didnt break it, but guess i just missed a piece..) I changed mainly the location of things, and CSS.
I have an older version where the delete button works. I have compared but cannot find the answer. Both versions do everything else, live, with the database & their respective dynamic forms.
I have all 4 files live, and unprotected, for now, and txt versions of all four. If you need to test anything with the live pages, its ok, most of the data is dummy data.
Ive been saturated in ADDT dynamic lists, and dont have a background of hand coder, but am learning a lot, quick. so i have tried hard to understand this exact issue i created - im not looking for others to do my work. just my little disclaimer :)

Include the following javascript code under the onClick event of the delete button.
    It works for me.
    onClick:
    var x=window.confirm('Are you sure ?')
    if (x)
    do_event(this.form,this.name,1,'ON_CLICK','');
    else
    return false

  • Erase button on mail.

I accidentally erased the delete button on Mail.
I retrieved the button, but now I cannot erase e-mails even when I click "eliminate".
    Would you please help?
    Best regards to all,

Connect the external drive to another mac ( a friend maybe?) and re-format it using that.
I'm not 100% clear on what you're trying to achieve here, but it sounds like your MacBook HDD is corrupted. Make sure you've tried repairing the HDD using disk utility in the recovery partition. This will tell you if the disk is usable. It may repair it and return your system to normal operation.
If your HDD is corrupted or damaged you may have trouble backing it up to the external drive anyway.
Personally I would remove the HDD, replace it with a new one and re-install OS X onto it. While you're out getting a new HDD, pick up a SATA to USB drive caddy that will allow you to connect the old HDD to your new restored Mac via USB. If it's readable then you should be able to copy data off it.
Your ability to re-install to a new hard drive will tell you if the problem was with the old HDD or with the Macbook itself.
If the old HDD is not readable you may have lost your data, or you may need to go to a professional data recovery service. This is why backups are essential. I would recommend using your external drive for backups with Time Machine.

  • Delete button in main Mail window doesn't seem to work with update to 10.5.

Hi, I just upgraded to OSX 10.5.8 and now the delete button in the main mail window does not seem to be working. The other buttons work, and if you hit the delete key that works. The delete button at the top of a message window also seems to continue to work. This is strange behavior. I will try to reboot again to see if that helps.

I am seeing the same issue. Very annoying. Tried resetting the toolbar too - did not work. Any help Apple?
