Where is driver?

Hi
I'm connecting to an HP PSC 1215 printer wirelessly. (I've tested via USB and it works fine so drivers are installed ok)
I can connect to the printer (XP as it happens but not relevant) wirelessly but I don't know how to pick the correct driver - at the moment its set for generic postscript - it doesn't appear in the HP menu - so do I choose Other and point to it - but where are the drivers installed?
Thanks

Here is the latest Mac OS X driver from HP's website. I don't have that particular model, but I've had similar issues in the past with HP printers which have been solved by
1) removing the printer from the printer setup
2) uninstalling the old HP software
3) reinstalling the new driver software
Best of luck

  • Issue with  driver program ZSAPM07DR(From where this Program is called)

    Hi All,
We need  to find out from  where the driver program  ZSAPM07DR(this is a customized program of SAPM07DR). It has the
    form  Z_DLYNOTE .
So how to know from  which place the Driver program is called.
    Please help .
    Thanks and Regards
    Channappa Sajjanar

    Hi,
It is me not totally clear what you want with this question.
I think you are asking this because you want to change the calling program in such a way that is using the new ZSAPM07DR instead of SAPM07DR.
For this you do not have to change a program. This can be done by making settings (a kind of customizing).
    Your print will be made with a certain outputtype. (ithink 1 of WA01, Wa02,Wa03, wae1, wae2, wae3, wee1, wee2, wee3, wf01, wf02, wlb1, wlb2, wlb3) with apllicationtype ME.
The settings can be made with transaction NACE.
for your program> start transaction NACE
                                  click on application ME
                                  click on outputtype
                                  doubleclick on the right outputtype
then you see a prgram, a starting routine, and  sapscript or smartform name.
Here you change your settings to your program and your sapscript or smartform or adobe interactive forms.
    and save.
these setting are stored in table TNAPR.
    Hope this helps you. success.

  • Where to put 2nd drive in Pavilion 500-281?

I've reviewed the online documentation and have actually looked inside the PC but don't see where a 2nd SATA drive is supposed to be installed.  I've seen the extra power cables, understand where the data cable plugs into the motherboard, completely familiar with how to add a drive.  But on this PC I just don't see at first glance where the drive goes.
While I'm posting, I'd also like to confirm that the 300W power supply is sufficient to power the additional drive.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You current power supply is sufficient for extra hard drives. However, depending on your specific model, there may or may not be a provision for a 2.5" SSD.  You will hvae to open up your PC and look.  Please see the below image.
The SSD or 2.5" hard drive actually mounts from the in side of the chassis. Review the information that is posted in this thread. You will need a SATA data cable.
Review the reference for a dual 3.5" hard drive stacking bracket in the same thread.

  • Need to download driver for Laserjet 4v. Can anyone tell me where I can obtain it?

I had to have my desktop reloaded & Windows XP no longer has the "plug & play" driver for the HP Laserjet 4v. HP apparently no longer has the driver which I find unusual. I need to know where I can download a copy or have someone attach it to an email ([email protected]). If anyone can help, I would be grateful.
    Thanks, Julian

Here is a good link to where the driver is located. There appears to be a bad link to the normal way to find it.

  • IP Printing: HP OfficeJet Pro K850 not in driver list

    Hi
After hours of work, I reckon I cannot solve the following problem on a iMac running Tiger 10.4.11 by myself. I installed a HP OfficeJet Pro K850 on my Mac directly trough USB, and everything worked fine. Then I decided to upgrade the whole system by connecting the printer trough a D-Link DP-G321 Print Server, in order to share the printer for the entire network. Despite everything works fine with Windows PCs, I can't get it to work with the Mac. By adding the K850 to the printer list, after typing the IP Address of the print server and the queue name, I have to choose the printer manufacturer and the model. Sadly, there is no entry in the HP list saying OfficeJet Pro K850, nor any similar printer models. I then simply tried to add the printer as a Generic PostScript Printer and print a document. I am sure there is a connection between my Mac and the printer, for the printer began to print strange texts until I pressed the cancel button on the printer. So it seems to be a driver problem, in fact the printer does not appear in the driver list, although the driver is (or should be) installed on my Mac (from the HP OfficeJet Pro K850 driver CD). How can I get the driver in that list? Appearantly, there is no "standalone" driver provided by HP, since the driver should be integrated in Mac OS X Tiger (at least that's what HP told me).
Any help would be very appreciated!

You can find this issue addressed here many times - but I guess you would need to know some background first...
There are two kinds of drivers on OS X - Carbon and CUPS. Not like on Windows, where a driver is a driver. Manufacturers of non-postscript printers mostly provide Carbon drivers, where they can specify which comm protocol it uses. Your HP driver is written for USB only. You need a CUPS driver to use the network protocols, which are all part of CUPS.

  • Driver to have HP Laserjet C4120A (HP Laserjet 4000n) work with Windows 7

We just put in 28 new Dell OptiPlex 3030 AIO with Windows 7 Professional in a school computer lab - but the tech guy did not install a printer for it to print to because he says our current printer - an HP Laserjet 4000n (C4120A) - is too old and will not work with Windows 7.  This is an EXCELLENT printer and has been working for us for a long time and I hate to give it up.
Would someone please direct me to where a driver for this printer that will work with Windows 7 - or will Windows 7 automatically determine what driver is needed and retrieve it from its set of drivers it has with the operating system?
Thank you so much for helping!

    Hello,
I've seen this same issue with my printers (other HP printers) whereby the default setting to support the Duplexing hardware was set to 'off'.
A quick method to check this is look at what the setting is for Duplex hardware in the Device Settings tab, and if it's not set, correct it.
      Printer Properties:
From the 'Start' orb -> [Devices & Printers] -> right click on your Printer icon -> select 'Printer Properties' -> click on 'Device Settings' tab.
You should see a dialog similar to the mine (attached): look for the 'Duplex unit (for 2-sided printing)' and see if it's set to "Not Installed":
--> in either case, click on 'Not installed' and from the dropdown box, select 'Installed'... Click 'OK' to accept the changes and close the dialog.
    Printing Preferences:
again, right click on your Printer icon -> select 'Printing Preferences' -> click on 'Advanced' tab.
-->Check to see if there is a 'Duplex Hardware' or '2-sided printing' option in here: mine doesn't show one but thougth I'd mention it nonetheless.
Click on the 'Finishing' tab and select 'Print on both sides'...or simply test print a multi-page document and set those preferences on-the-fly.
Let me know if this helps...

  • Need help installing Intel Lan Driver on a Satellite A100-011

I have bought Toshiba Satellite A100-011 notebook with Windows Vista. Now I downgraded the os to Windows XP. The problem is how to install Intel Lan Driver. I would really appreciate any help, because there is no .exe file and I have no idea, what to do with those files.

    Hi buddy,
the files which are in the zip file are really the drivers but you have to install them manually which means you must go to the device manager, search for the LAN device which probably should have a exclamation mark and then right-click on it. After clicking a wizard should appear which leads you trough the installation process. When the wizard asks for drivers (if not already automatically found) then point on the folder where the driver files are located.
Then everything should be fine. :)

  • Share iCloud drive with family members

Has anybody figured out how to share iCloud drive with family members?
I was using Amazon Cloud drive which used to have an app you could download and imbed into Finder, but with OS X 10.1 this is no longer supported so I've switched over to iCloud drive.  So far it is working seamlessly, except for the fact the my wife has to log into my iCloud account on the web in order to download the files.  Ideally I could share iCloud drive and she'd simply log into finder on her mac to view our files and records.
    Thanks in advance.

You can only share iCloud Drive with someone else if they also log in to the same account.  Otherwise, your sharing will be limited to the sharing options of the file itself, which is extremely limited.  Hopefully they will add more options as time goes on, but for now, thats where iCloud Drive is at, in its infancy.
    Good Luck.

    Hi, Mathew -
Here is a method that should work provided your G4 is an (AGP) model or later -
Restart. Immediately press the Option key, keep it held down until Startup Manager displays.
Article #106178 - Startup Manager: How to Select a Startup Volume
Once Startup Manager is up, press the Command-. (Command-period) keys. That should open the tray for the optical drive.
If the drive has a disk in it now, there's an additional technique - boot the machine, immediately press and hold down the mouse button, keep it held down. That's a hardware-based command to eject all removable media.
If the drive has a button on the door, you can also try restarting, then immediately begin pushing the button - there's a point during the first part of startup where the drive is energized but has not yet begun to spin up, and it should respond to the button push at that time.
If all attempts fail, it's time to consider whether the drive has failed, or if its cable connections have worked loose.

  • Windows Error While Loading Epson Driver

I have been trying to install the driver for a new Epson V33 scanner on my Satellite laptop (A305-S6872 model PSAG8U-02E018) without much success. I get to the point where the driver is being loaded and I get the following error message, Windows found driver software but encountered an error while attempting to install it, The system can not find the file specified. The the driver install fails. I contacted Epson and they made the following suggestion:
Thank you for contacting Epson regarding your Epson Perfection V33.
I’m sorry you are experiencing difficulties with installing the driver. Follow the steps to make sure that the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service is started.
Right-click on Computer or click Start then right-click on Computer.
    Select Manage.
Click on the Services and Applicationsicon.
Double-click on Services to access the list of available services.
Scroll down the list of Services and right-click on the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service.
    Left-click the Stopoption.
Then right-click on it again and select the Start option.
Try installing the Scanner Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v3.9.0.0 (epson13870.exe) again from the website.
If the same error persists, I recommend contacting your computer vendor or Microsoft as the issue is with the operating system. The operating system of the computer is not accepting the installation. The driver available on the website is a working driver which has been tested by many end-users.
I did as they suggested but had the same results. This was the second part of the Epson suggestion, to contact the computer vendor
I am not sure what to do because this is getting very frustrating.

This is a link to the Epson site and the quickstart install PDF
    http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/prv33_/prv33_bb.pdf
Once all the software is loaded from the disc and the scanner USB is plugged into the computer and turned on the driver will start to load. This goes on for about one minute. The process then stops and the above mentioned error pops up. I checked the device manager and it shows the scanner but has an " ! " . I tried the update driver option and Windows finds a driver online and the loading driver process starts and then ends with the same results and same error message. I have uninstalled both the scanner and software a couple of times and then reloaded but still get the same results. I even went to the Epson site and downloaded the driver onto my desktop and then loaded it but still ended up the same way. Epson Tech Support tells me there is a probelm with my computer or OS because to driver works fine for other people.

  • SCCM Driver Injection : What am I missing? Need help with getting drivers installing correctly in my environment.

    Everyone,
I'm not new to using SCCM, but i'm VERY new to setting up and managing it.  I have just laid it down for the school district that I manage, and i'm loving it.  Imaging is going great, all but one thing now...drivers installing.
Let me tell you what I've been doing, so hopefully a kind soul out there can tell me where my logic of the driver "injection" process is lacking and might can fill in some gaps.
I downloaded all drivers pertaining to the 7-8 series of computers we have in our environment currently, and imported them based on a criteria such as this:
    x86.LenovoEdge71.Desktop
    x86.DellOpti755.Desktop
    so forth and so on
I created packages based on the same exact naming scheme.  I update my distribution point at the end of the import, and all the drivers/packages/categories are in place.  When I go to Monitoring/Distribution Status/Content Status, all of my packages
show up , but under targeted it says 0.
My thoughts from reading online, is I upload all these drivers and during my task sequence where it says it's "applying device drivers" it's set to "install only the best matched compatible drivers" and "consider drivers from all
categories".  I also checked "do unattended installation of unsigned drivers no versions of Windows where this is allowed".
so correct me if my thinking is incorrect, it should search through all series of the computers we have in our environment and grab the best drivers from the overall database.  Is this not right?
The reason I ask this, is we have a few hundred HP 6000 Pro desktops.  WHen I image them, it comes up with 2 unknown devices.  OF these, I can manually point them at the folder from which I uploaded the drivers for this series/category and it installs
    100% successfully...MANUALLY.  What's the reasoning behind this?
I can't help but think there's something missing in my process / logic and I need to be set straight.
Can someone out there tell me what i'm doing wrong?  We're planning a district-wide re-imaging before summer's over, and the clock's ticking...but the drivers being installed are all that's keeping us from starting our migrations.
Any help on this is GREATLY appreciated, thank you very much!

You have setup everything correct, but for your desired result you need to use "Apply Driver Package" Task rather than "Auto Apply Drivers".
Auto Apply drivers will install the best matched/compatible drivers for only the PNP devices. For more info on this:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680990.aspx
Whereas "Apply Driver Package" would install all drivers you have in the package and hence you don't see the unknown drivers in device manager. For more info on this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680403.aspx
If you have multiple models, create this task for each model individually and then associate with a WMI query condition under Options tab to check the manufacturer/model
Example: Select * from Win32_ComputerSystem where Manufacturer = "HP" and Model Like "6000%"

  • Which CD ROM drive is compatible with Satellite 1690CDT?

I own an old Tosiba Satellite 169CDT notebook which still works well for me. Unfortunately the buid in CD ROM drive is broken. Does anybody know, where I can get a repacement drive for less money?
Can anybody tell me the model no or model description of the build in CD drive, is it a Teac drive?
Also any hints how to dismount the drive are welcome.
    Thanks for your help!
    Regards
    Sergeant

    Hi,
because your machine is pretty old, maybe looking by ebay or something similar could help you.
So I cannot help you with dismounting your drive, because I dont know, but you can try to loose some screws on the bottom of the machine which are exactly there, where the drive has its back.
Just try to imagine where the drive can be fixed with that screw, it has to be around the middle part of the bottom of your machine.
