Where is edge ports in this document

1. is the edge port means the port of distribution layer switch which connect to the access layer switch?
2. there are only switch and routers, what servers fail to boot up ? will access layer switch or distribution layer switch or core switch fail to boot up?
3. where to set individual state? is it the edge port?
4. does below mean that "no lacp suspend-individual" command can solve the problem of switch not boot up?
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/4_2/nx-os/interfaces/configuration/guide/if_nxos/if_portchannel.html#wp1704172
should only run the lacp suspend-individual command on edge ports
1. config t
2. interface port-channel number
3. shutdown
4. no lacp suspend-individual
5. no shutdown
6. copy running-config startup-config
By default, LACP sets a port to the suspended state if it does not receive an LACP PDU from the peer. In some cases,
although this feature helps in preventing loops created due to misconfigurations, it can cause servers to fail to boot up as they require LACP to logically bring-up the port.
You can put a port into individual state using the lacp suspend-individual command.

Hi,
1. is the edge port means the port of distribution layer switch which connect to the access layer switch?
No, absolutely not. An edge port is a port connected to a device that is by its design or configuration incapable of performing Layer 2 switching or bridging. Devices such as routers, servers, end hosts, network printers, network attached storage, webcams, etc., these all do not perform Layer 2 switching and therefore ports to these devices can be configured as edge ports. Devices such as switches, hubs, wireless bridges or autonomous access points are performing Layer 2 switching and ports toward these devices are non-edge ports.
To put it very simply, whenever a port on a switch is connected to another switch, that is a non-edge port. If a port on a switch is connected to a non-switching device, such as router, server, or an end host (a PC, a workstation), that is a candidate for an edge port.
2. there are only switch and routers, what servers fail to boot up ? will access layer switch or distribution layer switch or core switch fail to boot up?
I am sorry, I do not understand this question. Please try to ask in different words or perhaps provide an example.
3. where to set individual state? is it the edge port?
Edge ports can be configured in two ways:
Either directly on the port that should act as an edge port using the spanning-tree portfast command
Or in the global configuration using the spanning-tree portfast default command that will automatically make all access ports, both current and future, to be considered as edge ports

Peter

  • Where can I find this Document on Ora Website???

    hi All,
Can someone help me to track this document? As it seems that the Oracle Website has been changed and I cannot find it...
    Your Help is much appcreciated:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/net/content.html
This document samples parsing XML due to the fact that .NET defaults to generating a document style interface whereas JDeveloper defaults to generating an RPC style interface.
    Thanks in advance,
    Baz

If I understand you correctly, you are looking for a document that discusses XML parsing in a .Net environment.
If true, I would start at http://otn.oracle.com and follow one of 3 paths:
    1) Sample code link at the top of the pagee, and explore;
    2) Click on 'Technologies A-Z' on the left side of the page, select XML Technology Center and explore, or
    3) Click on 'Technologies A-Z' on the left side of the page, select .NET Developer Center and explore.
It's frustrating when Oracle removes their sample and tutorial pages.

  • Authorisation request for this document was cancelled

    Forum,
I have an approval stage and template configured in SAP when a sales order is raised it prompts the user for authorisation. Whilst this is ok'd the order is placed in a 'Draft' status. Upon trying to add one particular order, i get the following message:
The authorisation request for this document was cancelled. The document cannot be added inless the authorisation request is restored.
As he needed to get the order processed. I advised he duplicate the order and re-add it this time ensuring the correct authorisation procedure is carried out.
    Why would this occur?
    Regards,
    Juan

    HI Juan
The question u have asked is nor very much clear the first scenario is that once the approval is rejected the document saves in draft well if thats the concern than this is the way the approval procedure is defined that without approval the document should not have any affect on the system whereas rightly said by fellow geniuses u can have multiple person to approve if one is not present other can approve it this would save time and effort for you
The second scenario is that the approval procedure u have assigned gives u the message with one particular document and its fine with rest if thats the case then i would request you please check the query if there is any associated with the approval procedure
    Regards,
    Manish

  • Another "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found"-question

Hello people, as the title suggests, i have another question regarding the "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" error. I have searched on Google and on these forums but i havent found an answer to my particular case (sorry if i overlooked it).
I work at a supportdesk for a company that uses Windows XP with Adobe Reader version 8.1.3.
Users are getting this error when they access a PDF file placed on a (mapped) networkdrive. Contrary to some other cases i have found on this forum, spaces are handled without a problem. But a comma in the name of one of the folders that contain the PDF file are what causes this error.
    i.e.:
Opening the following path results in the error:
    L:\X, Y & Z\adobe.pdf
Removing the comma so the path becomes:
    L:\X Y & Z\adobe.pdf
    works just fine.
So far our workaround has always been to simply remove the comma and move on, but I've been wondering why this comma is such a problem for Adobe Reader. As far as i know Adobe Reader is the only program we use that has this issue, M$ Word works just fine with it to name an example.
    To sum my questions up:
    - Why is comma (,) a problem for Adobe Reader?
    - Have i missed any patches/new versions where this issue has been addressed?
    - What is Adobe's stance on this, and are there any plans to "fix" this?

Ok, nevermind, we just found the problem
It's not Adobe Reader that is causing this, but another program the company uses to manage/distribute/authorise programs that users are allowed to access (Scense). I had never even considered another problem could have caused this for Reader.

  • THE FAMOUS ERROR: There was a problem reading this document (15) - Thanks Adobe Engineering team

As a result of this error, I cannot delete pages in a big PDF file I have of 1032 pages.
The error, famous on the web and in Google, is:
there was a problem reading this document (15)
I hope I can find a solution for this, because I cannot delete the unnecessary pages inside the document which is driving me crazy.
Adobe Acrobat X has a very poor quality testing. In fact I don't beleive Adobe test their products, I think they just program them, label them as the finished product, ASK FOR A HIGH PRICE, OF COURSE, and release them to the market creating a lot of nightmares and headaches to the customer.
Adobe Acrobat X crashed several times when the files have flash content inside or formularies. The program, simply, is bad programmed with a very poor engineering inside.
As soon I find an alternative for PDF, I will switch, I promise, in fact I don't promise it, I SWEAR IT.
And if I dont find a solution for this I will put in my car a banner that says "DON'T BUY ADOBE ACROBAT, IS THE WORST PROGRAM YOU CAN FIND!"
I'm loosing days and days of work, this is costing me problems and money.

Yes, there is something wrong with the document. That is the defective programming the Adobe engineering team did. And please, allow me to explain you why it is defective. After you spend millions dollars in 950 engineers and 3100 beta testers, you can destroy Adobe Acrobat X easily just downloading a website rich in flash content. Some animated banners in the downloaded pages from the web, it's enough to destroy it.
Just go to a website where you have animated banners, and press Shift+Crtl+O to download the pages...
Save your PDF document and then try to work with it.
If the document has a big size, let's say 1000 pages approximately, and many of them have flash content... Adobe Acrobat X crash automatically just moving from one page to another.
    As simple as that.
Is the most unstable program I've seen in all my life. And please, don't tell me it's my machine, because I've tested it in other computers. The same!
    But there is more! yes
Forms fields also destroy Acrobat X
In a big PDF file having several pages inside with forms, just go to Tools, Forms and Edit, then in the list of pages try to delete the forms fields selecting them and pressing the Del key... crasshhhh Acrobat X die.
What kind of betatesters you chose to test your products? For sure are people that are working with light documents of 5... 10 pages and no more.
For sure are not people working extensively with Adobe Acrobat, as I do.
And what happens when Acrobat X crash miserably time after time? that the Error 15 comes, because the file becomes corrupted.
    This is not serious.
Is this the kind of performance and stability that Acrobat provide to the customers? having the risk to lose important documents and data, due how unstable is the program?
You can tell me you hired NASA personnel to do this program, but customers need results, and crashing the program just pressing one key is not serious.
And talking about complains I don't want to remember the last update of the Acrobat 9 !!!
And you know what? a simple tool as NitroPDF don't crash!
Sadly NitroPDF is not an option for me, because I embed videos in the PDF documents and NitroPDF don't allow me that.
I am using Adobe Acrobat X because sadly I don't find another alternative, the day I find it, I'll switch for sure.
Or perhaps we can get a miracle, and your programmers could focus in what is IMPORTANT: STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE.

  • There was a problem reading this document (109) on Japanese PC

We have an app written with Delphi 2006 and using Rave Reports to generate PDFs.  A Japanese user of our software cannot open the PDFs (with Acrobat reader) our software produces when they run our software on a Japanese version of Windows (probably Win7). I have the same problem if I try to open the same PDF (which they have sent us) with Acrobat reader on an English-language Win XP machine :
There was an error processing a page. There was a problem reading this document (109)..
Ctrl-OK produces "object label badly formatted"
PDF files produced on English installations of our software read fine on our PCs and on the Japanese user's PC
Does anyone have any idea where this error is coming from?
    Thanks,
    Ross

    Hi Pat,
    Thanks for looking at this.
Yes, there are almost certainly Japanese characters.  If you look at the second (readable) version I sent you can see where part of the date has been rendered incorrectly - this is because they have their regional settings arranged so that the Japanese year character is used, and the version of Delphi we use doesn't support those multibyte characters.
It seems unreasonable for Acrobat Reader to choke on this however.
Here'a binary dump of the relevant part of the file

  • Issue when scrolling a pdf - There was a problem reading this document (135)

This is when the PDF is created and rendered/previewed from Acrobat Reader and the issue is there for latest acrobat version too.
When you open the PDF in Acrobat Reader and then when you scroll it and if you have more that one page in the PDF, it gives an error saying "There was a problem reading this document (135)".
Is this a known issue in Acobat? Any resolution? Reinstalling acrobat version didn't help.
    Thank you in advance...!

    Hi Manulak_Tech,
As you are able to view PDF I had provided, the issue seems to be PDF specific.
So when you scroll the PDF and reach to a page where Adobe Reader cannot read it, the error comes. I am sure the problem lies the way PDF was created. Can you describe how the PDF was created?

  • Unable to Redact or Bates due to Error: There was a problem reading this document (16)

I am using Acrobat Pro X.  I have hundreds of account statements where I need to redact and bates stamp.  Somehow I keep getting this error:  There was a problem reading this document (16)
The files open and print fine.  There is no security settings in the PDF that will disalllow me to do this.  The next thing I checked to see if they were PDF/A but they were not.   Also, I tried Print to PDF but it garbles up the PDF results.  Re-scanning them is not a solution for me given the time it would takeme.
Any idea why I would get this error when the PDFs open, save and print ok?

This means there is an internal error in the PDF files, even if they seem to display OK. Contact the document creator.

  • There was a problem reading this document (118) after sleep

    Adobe reader X 10.1.8.24, windows 7 64 bit
I have a lot of pdf documents located on a remote windows share and everytime I put my computer to sleep and wake it up I get problems reading pdf documents that result in this error:
There was a problem reading this document (118)
Then I have to close ALL pdf documents and re-open them to be able to read them again.
This has happened for a long time now, with multiple reader versions and it really starts to bother me. Other applications just pick up the remote files where I left them before putting the pc to sleep. The reader should be able to retry getting the data from the remote share.
Where do I report this bug?
    Jur.

Sorry, I do not quite understand what your problem is:
you have a problem with signing in to the ExportPDF service ?
you have a problem opening PDF files ?  If so, are these local or online documents?
P.S. Reader XI and earlier will no longer support Document Cloud PDF services as of May 20; see https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-5891

  • Pro 9 Users Receive "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

Users with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (Windows XP) are not able to open PDFs created on the server. They receive the error message:
“There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.”
Even if the users save to disk and try to re-open, the error still occurs.
This error did not surface in our QA testing because we were testing with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8. What can the difference be? Is there additional information that I can look for in order to troubleshoot this?
Thank you for looking at my post. Please provide guidance in trying to resolve this issue.
    Elsa

So, I'm not sure how much this will help but if you save the pdf AHW_Test_05112009xx.pdf and open it in a text editor, and go all the way down to the bottom where the %%EOF marker is, it looks as if the html page is getting appended to the end of the pdf. I recieved the "This file was damaged..." error in Adobe 7.1.0 when trying to open it but if you remove the html at the end, it opens up just fine.
It appears that whatever's appending the html to the end is causing the issue.
Below is what the file looks like near the end after the EOF:
    startxref

  • Exporting PDF files from SSRS 2012 - "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired"

    Good day
I have the situation where we are exporting PDF files from reporting services in our website.
When dividing the data into sections, the report exports perfectly, but when exporting the entire set and trying to open the file, we get the following error in Adobe Reader:
"There was an error opening this document.  The file is damaged and could not be repaired"
We tried to repair the file, no luck.  We tried to use different PDF readers, no luck
We then checked the file sizes.  When exporting the subsections, each section exports a file of about 2mb.
When exporting the entire set, the file is about 1.3mb.
Adding all the sections together gives me a rough estimate of 40mb.
Exporting to TIFF works beautifully and returns a file of 41.5mb. Word and Excel formats also work well, only issue there is the page numbering and formatting.
The problem we have is the clients are adamant about having it in PDF format.
    Any advice please?

This was one of the temporary suggestions I gave the client...
Unfortunately they do not like this as the page numbering and formatting in Word does not appear right.  We are talking about over 1300 pages.  I can't expect them to change the formatting with each export.  Additionally,  the data is
constantly changing and each client has their own data.  The clients export the reports randomly.  I therefore can't post the reports back onto the server.
Thanks for the speedy response though
