WHERE IS FLASH? I AM EMBARRASSED
I am embarrassed as an iPhone owner that we still have no Flash support. This is ridiculous. I am sure there are some robot answers as to why this has not happened yet. Can anyone provide me with a REAL answer. This is ridiculous.
Without going into a debate about intellectual property and what some describe as the paradoxes thereof.
I clicked on your profile, and it mentions you work in "Marketin and Advertising". As such you are probably familiar with the restrictions that some companies have with using their logos on web pages, print media, etc.
Flash is like one of those logos, and Adobe controls how it is used. The analogy breaks down somewhat, because they make it easy to create content with it, but instead control what is needed to read it. Kind of like you can use our logo, but only in a way that requires our decoder ring to view. They haven't set out guidelines that would allow anyone else to make a Flash player for the iPhone in a satisfactory manner. The current options from Adobe are either Flash Lite which is designed to work in the limited user interface of most cell phones, and doesn't have all the functionality of Flash, and Flash which is designed to have relatively generous resources available on a desktop or portable computer.
So as it stands, Adobe has said you can either have it at less than 1/8 inch (Flash Lite), or it has to be bigger than 8 inches for larger media. The problem is it is either too small, and not full useful, or its too large to allow other things to exist.

Where is Flash builder 4.6 for php ?
Hello,
I found flash builder 4.5 for php and flash builder 4.6, where is flash builder 4.6 for php ?Is it really that difficult to add Flash Builder 4.6 as a plugin to Zend Studio? I did that for a long time prior to Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP, which is essentially the same thing. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist. =/
On that note, if you own Flash Builder 4.6 and don't feel like shelling out the extra money for Zend Studio or waiting for Flash Builder 4.6 for PHP, then it's really as simple as adding Flash Builder as a plugin to Ecliplse for PHP using PDT. Also, doesn't take a rocket scientist. Personally, I don't see the big deal myself. I don't even bother with using Zend Studio anymore and prefer to use Komodo Edit since it's autocomplete features are awesome and it's very quick at auto complete by simply adding a folder for your favorite PHP apps from different frameworks to different content management systems. Furthermore, there is still support in Flash Builder 4.6 to connect to a PHP data service if you really just want to create some automated code. Ultimately though, I don't understand why anyone would use amf.ini or the default options in production.
Rather than pointing to the default endpoint, if you're using a framework in the first place, it makes a lot more sense to setup a service controller and have the endpoint point to that such as index.php/services/amf (or if you're like me and prefer cleaner url's modify .htaccess to remove index.php). The bottom line is there really was nothing great about Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP. Alot of things were broken for one and it was far easier to use the datawizard which still exists for testing purposes.
After that, you should be focusing on deploying the applicaiton for production, and adjusting the settings in the Zend Framework to create a new project the correct way, dumping your HTML file to a view along with the swf file, and it may be a good idea to point the HTML file to swfobject on the Google Ajax Libraries page. Everything else is a cakewalk.
In other news, if you'd like a ligher footprint than using the entire Zend Framework, why not use something like CodeIgniter and create the necesssary hooks to use Zend AMF? -
Where are Flash Player system prefs kept (OS X)?
Does anyone know where the Flash Player System Preferences are kept? I'm refering to where it stores the preferences for the options in System Preferences in OS X? I'm trying to remote-deploy 11.3.x on 30+ machines and would like to have the "allow Adobe to install updates" option set in preferences via a script so I don't have to manually set this on each machine. If I can find out where these preferences are stored, then I'm good, but trying to find this in the zillion folders and sub-folders installed on a machine is proving a task in itself...

Where does Flash CS4 put installation info in registry?
Hi, everyone!
I want to know where Adobe Flash CS4 puts installation-related info into registry for Windows 7.
For example, Adobe Flash CS3 puts the following in the registry, for Windows XP:
Location in registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Flash\10.0]
Elements:
ApplicationPath => C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4
LanguageInstalled => en_US
Can anyone tell me where I can find this info?After having played with this feature a bit more I believe Aperture uses the Facebook name of a contact. So this must EXACTYL match the name of your contact in address book.
If they are the same, Aperture will treat them as one.
If they are different, even when a name has an o or an ö. Aperture will treat the two contacts as different.
So far so good. It is a pain to change contacts and match them to facebook.
But what happens if someone changes their name on Facebook, to be funny, or maybe get married? Do I have to change the name again?
That would be very annoying!
I am wondering if anyone else has any thoughts or experiences with faces in Aperture and Facebook. -
Where does flash install to?
I'm trying to get this script to work, but other than /Library/Internet Plug-ins, where does flash install?
This the line of code I'm trying to use:
/usr/sbin/installer -pkg /Volumes/Updates\ Player/Install\ Adobe\ Flash\ Player.app/Contents/Resources/Adobe\ Flash\ flashplayer.pkg -target / > /dev/null
and I get the following error:
Updating Flash player…
./flashupdate.sh: line 14: ${logfile}: ambiguous redirect
./flashupdate.sh: line 17: ${logfile}: ambiguous redirect
installer: invalid option /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin

./flashupdate.sh: line 20: ${logfile}: ambiguous redirect
./flashupdate.sh: line 27: ${logfile}: ambiguous redirect
./flashupdate.sh: line 28: ${logfile}: ambiguous redirect
I'm not really concerned about the logfile error. I can get rid of that by just removing the pointer to the log file.
Anyone with scripting knowledge have any idea what this means?cscs_panthers,
the displayed error message is complaining about an option that isn’t present on the line of code in your post. Are you running /usr/sbin/installer somewhere else in your script? It seems as though it’s complaining about a different line of code. -

Where Is Flash Player Used?
1. Where is Flash Player used?
I am wondering when I am using Flash Player.
2. How can I know when I'm using Flash Player?
3. Am I using Flash Player when I:
a. Play a Facebook game?
b. Watch a You Tube video?
c. Watch a Vimeo video?
d. Watch a video on any news website like CNN or ABC?
e. Watch a video on any other website?
f. OtherThe easiest way to check for a video is to right click on the video's screen. You'll see some reference to Flash Player, as noted:
I'm not sure if this works for games, since I don't play any, but you can try.

Why do I need to know this?
I want to try something, theres a .deb for adobe connect addin, inside, a compiled binary, I want to try and see if I can throw that binary at flash as an addin and see if it'll work. I realize only Ubuntu is supported, but I've had this work with other things from Ubunto.
OS: A variation on Thinstation, linux for short
Flash Version: 10.1
Browser: FirefoxThe data are in:
C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}\Data aplikací\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\
where Data aplikací means something like application data or something like that in english.
I'm not sure if you can change that location. Maybe by hacking in registries.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit OS and Internet Explorer 9. I have only had this computera few months and Flash Player has never worked. Here is the last entry in the flashInstall.log

My .flv files are opened by the Wiindows viewer which does not work.
To play .flv files requires the Flash projector not the web Flash Play.

Hi all
I'm looking for flash button on dreamwaver cs4 I can not find
it where is it
Thanks for help.Thankfully, it's been removed, as has Flash text.
Using Flash for buttons or content was a bad idea 10 years
ago, and it's
even worse now.

Where is Flash on my Computer?
My OS is XP Pro. I have just downloaded Flash v. 9,0,28,0 and
I can see the installation completion movie and text below (with IE
6 SP2). I actually had downloaded it earlier today and went to
Add/Remove Programs because I didn't see Flash in my Start > All
Programs list (the Adobe folder is empty but there is a separate
entry for Adobe Reader v. 7.0.9). I wanted to see what the settings
were but somehow managed to delete Flash from the Add/Remove
Programs list (it's not there). Also, when I search my computer the
only results I get are for IE pages. Can someone please tell me
where Flash is installed and how to access the settings? Thank

Where does flash stores the local shared object data
HI All,
I'm using shared object to store local data:
var so:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal(storageName);
// Store the data
so.data.userName = userName;
so.flush();
Where does it actually saved on my hard disk (in windows vista operating system).
10x,
Liorhttp://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/html/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Live Docs_Book_Parts&file=lsos_087_3.html
The term local refers to the location of the shared object.
In this case, Adobe Flash Player stores the SharedObject file locally
in the client's home directory.
When you create a shared object, Flash Player creates a new
directory for the application and domain. It also creates an empty
*.sol file that stores the SharedObject data. The default location of
this file is a subdirectory of the user's home directory. On Windows,
this directory is the following by default:
c:/Documents and Settings/username/user_domain/Application Data/Macromedia/Flash Player/web_domain/path_to_application/ApplicationName/objectName.sol
If you request an application named MyApp.mxml on the local host, in the Flex context, and within a subdirectory named /sos, Flash Player stores the *.sol file in the following location on Windows:
c:/Documents and Settings/username/user_domain/Application Data/Macromedia/Flash Player/#localhost/flex/sos/MyApp.mxml.swf/objectName.sol
