Where is Function menu?

I want to change the gain on part of a track in LE8. According the the manual, it is at Functions > Change Gain. I can find no such menu called "Functions." Does anyone know what the manual is talking about? (By the way, this sort of mistake is pretty common in the manual. Is there a third party book that is better written?)

Double-click on the audio region, which will open the sample editor.
It's in the sample editor where you'll find Functions -> Change Gain

I'm transferring some Protools sessions of mine over to Logic 8 and I'm using a page a I found on the web. It states:
In Logic:
Select Audio Window > File > Add Audio file to add the files that were exported from Pro Tools
Select the files you've imported in the Audio window and select File > Import SDII Regions. The regions that now contain time stamped info well show up with small clock icons to the left of their name.
Drag the Regions into the Arrange window, onto the desired tracks.
With the Regions selected, choose the Functions > Regions to Original Record Position. NOTE: If the region has both an Original and User Time Stamp (see Pro Tools Documentation), then Logic will ask which time stamp you wish to use.
Everything was going great but I can't find the 'Functions' menu it speaks of in the last step.
Anyone?

Double click on the region to bring up the Sample Editor window. There you'll find the 'Functions' menu.

HT1550 i have the newest version of itunes and none of that works!!! i dont know where the advanced menu is and i dont think you can select a song anymore

I have the newest version of iTunes and none of that works!!! I don't know where the Advanced Menu is. And I don't think you can select a song anymore. I need to make WAV Files to put them on Windows Media Player so i can download music on my Samsung Intensity 2.

Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
If iTunes still does not see the iPod try:

The table vision CRMV_LINKPARTNER will retrieve the information you're looking for (just enter the service ticket GUID as input).
If you take a look how this vision is elaborated, you'll check how you can associate the table CRMD_ORDERADM_H to table CRMD_PARTNER.

G460 Function Menu Bar problem..pls help!

Dear all,
I'm new here. I'm a user of G460 laptop. Have one serious problem is the function menu is not popping up even tho already pressed Fn + F5 (or every function it has). For example, when I raise/lower the volume, usually it will pop out a small volume meter on the bottom right corner...I've seen this in my colleague's computer (same model) but mine is not popping up, same goes to the brightness...How to enable back the menu shown in the screen? Pls help...

CS5 Still not sorting Function Menu!

Come on guys, even if it needs to be an option on the preferences, why the hell can't I have the right click function menu alpha sorted! That menu is meant to help me navigate my code, not slow me down.
2nd thing, and 2nd time I have mentioned it... Not all code sits in the document root. Why can't the site manager let me define what is the site root for dreamweaver. This way developers and desingers can share the same STE and not have to rewrite every url when dreamweaver assists.

Try this. Edit this file:
Configuration/Menus/MM/CodeNav_Dynamic.js
Change these lines:
if (doSort != "0")
newList.sort(navCompareFunc);
To:
newList.sort(navCompareFunc);
So, it's always sorted.

It is hidden by default. To reveal it, hold the CTRL key and then press B.

Fix Links option missing from Functions menu

Version 11.1.2.2.300
I have Smart View tab that is missing the "Fix Links" option in the Functions menu in Edit section. I have done the following:
- checked no item has been disabled in Excel options
- re-installed Smart View on the machine, same result
- repaired Office , same result
- logged as another user, same result
- blown user profile, same result
- re-imaged machine, same result
Installed Smart View on another machine, and found that the Fix Links option is also not there.

Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
If the issue only happen for one user please try to delete Lync user profile and then test the issue again.
%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
Please also make sure Lync client update to the latest version.

Where is my menu bar?

Where is my menu bar? All I have at the top of the screen is a navigation bar.

Look at the far right end of the navigation bar and find the downward pointing triangle. It's located between the star, for Favorites, and the circular arrow, for Refresh.
Right click on the triangle, and in the drop down list that appears you'll see that Menu Bar is unchecked. Click on it so that the check mark appears, and then the Menu Bar should reappear.
Firefox interface designers, please take note: As a user it is frustrating to be playing with settings and suddenly find that you're unable to put things back the way they were. Solving this problem requires the user to, a) know the term "menu bar" (many do not) in order to search it in the Help area, and b) locate the Help without having the Menu Bar, which wasn't easy.

Where is the menu on windows 8 desktop

I purchased a new HP desktop in Nov. I can only check email and use skype. I want to use word to write stories and work on my family geneology. Where is the menu that has file so I can click on it. As much as I paid for this piecer of junk, yoou would think I coould have a simple way to use word and have a start button like on my old windows professioonal 2000 and vista. This is the 3rd program I have had on my 3rd coomputer and right now I sure hate windows 8.

I think I do not understand your use of "word".
Context: I spent the larger part of the afternoon yesterday trying to figure how to get"word" on my computer. I still have my old one at one end of my large desk. I keep it for when grandchildren come to play games on. I just pluged it in and did some editing to a story I was working on.
On the off-chance that you are talking about a text editor, perhaps you are talking about WordPad ??
You can add a "Tile" for WordPad and most other programs to your Start Screen -- the Screen is configurable and can be made to look and act how you like. Not interested in customizing the Screen? Then just type the word / program / setting you seek on the Start Screen and let the Search seek and provide the results -- click on the program to start it.
Want that program to "stick" to your Start Screen? Right click on the program and "Pin" the program to Start.
It does occur to me that I may not be able to assist in a manner that benefits you.

Windows 8 is thought to be an improvement by some, disparaged by many, and gladly embraced by others. HP sells computers that offer Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 -- HP also sells computers with Linux for those who desire this Operating System.
Windows 8.1 appears to be an improvement over Windows 8. I like Windows 8.1 -- I do admit that I might be one of maybe twenty-five people in the US that really likes Windows 8, so my views are biased.
Some computers can be upgraded easily to Windows 8.1 while others will fail to upgrade gracefully, and a number of systems will not upgrade at all. This is not just an HP issue; most computer manufacturers offer value added software and drivers to their computers -- and it is frequently these drivers and software that need to be rewritten when a computer is changing Operating Systems. The drivers / software may for Windows 8.1 are offered for a number of computers with more being added as they are available.
People who wish to change their Operating System from what was installed when they bought the computer must understand that the Update process is voluntary. The invitation to "update to Windows 8.1" comes from Microsoft -- HP did not send the message and warns against the "click and away we go" update.

Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
