Where is "Google Web Toolkit Developer Plugin for Firefox?"

I can not find this plug in for the version of Firefox I have 3.6.8, even though it already runs with it?
I can not find Google Web Toolkit Developer Plugin for Firefox for Firefox 3.6.8 even though I already have Google Web Toolkit Developer Plugin for Firefox running on a version of Firefox 3.6.8 on other computers.
# There is no regular information that tells you how to get this plugin as there is with other plugins.
# When GWT Devmode loads the Firefox brower, it says "missing plugin." you click to install, and it can't find it.
# I know that I have previously been able to install Google Web Toolkit Developer Plugin for Firefox version 1.0.7511 installed on Firefox 3.6.8 on another machine. But I'm migrating to this one.

Hi richkatz,
I'm on FF3.6.2 and today, I encounter the same problem.
I got the solution by opening the download page in another tab. Then the firefox message switched from "Look for Plugin" to "Autorise FF to install the plugin".
Here is the URL of my new tab, hoping that it works for FF3.6.8 : https://dl-ssl.google.com/gwt/plugins/firefox/gwt-dev-plugin.xpi
Seeya! ;)

  • Where is the Google Web APIs Developer's Kit and developer's license key???

    Hi!
I'm trying to follow the web services tutorial on page 490 of the Oracle JDeveloper 10g Handbook (written in 2004 so it is a little dated). Part I of the tutorial is to register with Google and download the Google Web APIs Developer's Kit, but I can't find it anywhere (at least not with that name). Does anyone know where is it?
On a related topic, this tutorial (http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/webcolumns/2003/techarticles/balusamy.html) talks about a Google developer's license key (Understanding Google Web APIs section), but again, when I created a Google account I did get a confirmation email, but no second email with no key. Where do I find this?
    TIA for any help.

    what type of application?
Here is the basic of how to use a Web service in a JSF/ADF based application:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/viewlets/1013/WebServicesAndADF_viewlet_swf.html
and this section of the how-to shows you how to create a basic Java client:

  • Client-side caching of Javascript (for Google Web Toolkit *.cache.* files

    Hi all,
I'm trying out the use of Google Web Toolkit (GWT) for AJAX code development, leveraging RPC calling back-end Web Services for a document browser prototype.  When the JavaScript code is generated by GWT, it has the ability to automatically distinguish between cacheable and non-cacheable content via file extensions (.cache. and .nocache.).
Now when running in a Tomcat environment with appropriate caching settings; the application runs extremely fast even on really poor latency sites (>500ms round trip); however on a NetWeaver stack, I can't find any information on how to set an attribute on .cache. files to set an expiry of 1 year.
Anyone know how to do this on a NetWeaver J2EE stack?
    Thanks,
    Matt
PS. For reference, GWT is a very cool open source project worth watching in the Enterprise space for targeted high-usability, high performance apps.  Just the image bundles concept themselves are an awesome approach to minimizing impact of small images on performance.

    Hi again,
I thought I should post the solution I came up with in case people search on GWT in the future.  In terms of caching, the Portal does a good job of making nearly everything that GWT produces to be cached at the client; and for the life of me, I couldn't get nocache files not cached at the client side.
So thanks to my friendly local SAP experts in the portal space; I discovered there's not much you can do to get this working except try use standard browser tags like the following to prevent caching on the browser:
Note - Can't seem to save this post in SDN with Meta tags that I'm trying to display so check out http://www.willmaster.com/library/tutorials/preventing_content_cache.php for more info...
Unfortunately, the way that GWT creates the nocache files, it is not possible to modify the .js files to do this so I needed an alternative approach.
Then I thought, well, the html file that includes the JS file is cached, but it's not very big, so how about I just write a script to modify the html file when I deploy to production to point to the nocache file with a date suffix.
Let me explain in more detail:
    1. The original html file that includes the nocache.js file gets modified to point to nocache.<date>.js.
    2. The original nocache.js file gets changed to nocache.<date>.js
    3. Now produce an external bat file to do this automatically for you before deployment which DevStudio can call as part of an Ant script or similar.
That's it.  So when you are developing, you can manually delete your cache, but just before you go to production, you do this conversion, and you will never have an issue with clients having the wrong version of javascript files.
Note - GWT takes care of caching of most of the files by using a GUID equivalenet each time you compile, so it's just a couple of files that really need to not be cached.
Anyway, I'm not explaining this solution very well, but drop us a line if you need to understand this approach further.
And lastly, my feedback about GWT - It Rocks!  Everyone loves the result, it's easy to build and maintain, it offers a great user experience, and it's fast.  Not a replacement for transactional apps; but for the occasional user - go for it.

  • Firefox 6 doesn't support Google Web Toolkit add-on so has become useless to me.

Thanks for forcing an upgrade. You need to understand that you will turn people OFF if you force them to upgrade to a platform that is not ready for their full requirements! I can no longer be a Firefox user. Can I go back to my previous version? How?

Looks like the problem is with Google having not released an update yet. See the following link and links within: https://groups.google.com/group/google-web-toolkit/browse_thread/thread/48d34a9fb54af7e6/ddb748430950f08a

  • Where can I get application development kit for iPad?

    Hi apple world,
Where can I get application development tool for iPad?
I am new apple user, and fascinated with iPad. Having computer science background at college, I am interested in developing simple game application to get started. Hopefully, I would like to put some games in app store in the future.
My iTune is in windows XP, and it may be the platform for development.

Actually, it is free to register at http://developer.apple.com/programs/register/ as a developer and download the SDK. The $99 fee only applies if you want to install your Apps on a real iOS device (instead of the simulator) or submit them for distribution on the AppStore.

  • I need jre 7u5 plugin for firefox for my final project

    Hello!
I'm IT student and for my security class I require to find an exploit, exploit a system, and then learn how this exploit works.
    I picked JRE 7u5 exploit.
I downloaded that version of java from oracle archives but the problem is that I require a browser plugin.
I tried to search for plugin on Google for more than few hours but I can't find anything useful...
I though I could post this question here since there was this version of java released on plugin page once.
My question is, could you please release JRE 7u5 plugin for Firefox please? Or do you know where I could find it? I really hoped I could use this exploit but the difficulty lays with finding the right plugin.
Please give me a feedback how I could get JRE plugin for Firefox or any other browser!
I will be using Windows XP SP 2 VM.
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
You're going to find that there's only a very small group of people that want to install a program with a known exploit, and the developers aren't going to be keen on allowing ongoing access to faulty code.
Best bet would be to look for the source code. On the [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html Oracle website] there's the source for JDK 6; have a look around there. You may have to drop back a version to get access.

  • [SOLVED] Can't Find IcedTea7 Java Plugin for Firefox

    Hello everybody,
I'm new to Arch (have used Linux for some time but never got too deep into configurations and such). I've always just used proprietary versions of Java in the past, even on Linux, but now that I have a really cutomized Arch box, I'd like to try and support OpenJDK+IcedTea.
I followed the Wiki instructions by installing jre7-openjdk, jdk7-openjdk, and icedtea-web-java7 packages. All I want is to link to the plugin for firefox. However, I don't actually see the .so plugin file anywhere, nor do I know how to see where pacman installs things.
    I have a folder /usr/share/icedtea-web/ that contains the files about.jar, about.jnlp, netx.jar, and plugin.jar.
I remember .jar files are Java archives, but I actually have no idea what to do with them or how to use them as I'm not too familiar with Java (but I do run browser applets using the plugin).
I apologize for my noobness in this, but can anybody help me figure out how to find or acquire or extract the .so plugin file for firefox?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Great, thank you so much! Actually, it was already fixed before I read your reply, but it's still informative (I wasn't sure how to find file lists for pacman packages).
I just removed and reinstalled all the java packages and it worked. I might have done it in the wrong order or something when I did it the first time. I wasn't sure if the web test on the Java website checked for the Oracle plugin specifically or just a valid JRE implementation, but it worked, so I guess OpenJDK is working great so far.

  • I have Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox, but I'm still missing Flash Player?

So I have installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox, and I'm able to watch youtube videos on my browser and other things that require flash player, but I have a disc that i got along with my Samsung monitor, and when I put it in my computer, it says that I do not infact have flash player. Also, when I try playing a game, DawnGate, theres a black box where a video should be, and it says that i do not have flash player, and it is required to watch these videos. I tried uninstalling, and I was unable to watch youtube, and when i reinstalled, I was able to watch youtube again, but that did not fix my problem. Is there something I'm missing? I look forward to hearing from someone soon.

Odds are it's looking for the IE plugin: (A lot of software just assumes ALL Windows users are "slaves to Microsoft" and only have IE installed.)
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
    or the standalone Player:

  • New Plugin for Firefox- Maps Blank

I just went to maps.ovi.com and got offered a new plugin for Firefox. It seemed to install OK and now the website - which used to take about 5 mins to startup for me - starts up in seconds. Almost as fast as Google maps!
SNAG - the map area is blank. I can't see any maps!
    Is it just me?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Malicious software had switched my Internet Options to use a proxy server. Firefox showed the Maps website and navigation perfectly but the map did not download. Simply disabling the "Use a proxy server" in "Connections" fixed it. Since I do not use Internet Explorer I had not noticed this!

  • Installing Adobe Flash Player 10.0.42 Plugin for Firefox 3.5.7

I currently have Firefox 3.5.7 installed and am trying to access a site that requires the current version of Adobe Flash Player (10.0.42). When I download and install it, the website still doesn't recognize flash player being installed.
I go to Adobe.com, make sure I am downloading the one for WinXP/Firefox and install it, then it says that it is successfully installed. However, when I try to access the site, and it says that the current version of flash player is not installed, with a link to the adobe site to download the latest version (which I already did).
I have tried uninstalling the flash player, from both Windows and Adobe's uninstaller, and reinstalling with no success. I have even tried uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, still nothing. For fun, I tried updating IE, and it works fine, but I REALLY don't like IE.
Another note: when I uninstall Flash Player, it doesn't remove it from my machine (add/remove program list), even when Windows asks, "Adobe ... is already uninstalled, would you like to remove it from the list?" Additionally, when I go to Adobe's Flash Player version tester site, it reports that IE is running version 10.0.42, but when I access it with FF, it shows a link to download the latest Adobe FP.
