Where is IM in N95?

Today i got my brand new unbranded and unlocked N95. So far love it. May be its just be but i can not find the instant messaging in it for WV (Wireless Village)??
N95 doesnt have built in IM? That would be a shocker...

Update. This is crazy. I called Nokia USA today and told them about missing IM in my N95. They had be tell them IMEI number and firmware version etc. They asked me to check for IM in "Applications" folder and then in "Office" folder. Nothing.
In the end he believed that my phone indeed does not have IM. They told me to send them phone back for a replacement or they can re-flash my nokia to the latest firmware.
What is surprising to me is that no one here said they have the same problem and nokia customer care person said that i am the first one calling about this problem. hum..what went wrong with my phone?
Will definitely send phone back so that i can use packetbox.com wireless village service.

Its better to install applications in memory card, and keep phone memory free as much as u can. Its simple like ur PC its alwyas good to fill D: or E: derive rather than C:

How do I get themes onto my N95 8GB?

I've tried and can't do it, plus when I use the data storage I can't find the folder on the N95 for themes.
Oh and as well, i'm trying to get on the net and get a message saying 'unable to load check connection settings'. My phone is sim free and has an orange pay as you go sim card in it. Do I need to contact orange and get the N95 set up for internet access and stuff?

Ok thanks, that clears it up. The reason i asked was because yesterday I caned £5 credit when using nokia maps and wondered why. I was thinking to myself "hold on, I didn't use all that credit, I only sent 8 text messages and browsed the internet on my phone for about 2 minutes". The I rang orange and they said my internet wasn't cancelled properly and told me I was actually connected over 4,000 minutes. They also said that people with N series phones are having trouble because when you click to disconnect the phone doesn't disconnect properly and still keeps using crdit even though you think you've logged off mobile internet.
Orange told me that Nokia Maps uses GPRS to obtain data, but then the shop where I bought my N95 sim free from, 'Phones 4 U', told me I cant use sat nav at all on my N95 because i'm on pay as you go. At least I know now I can buy Tom Tom Mobile or Garmin XT and then use it without it caning my credit. Thanks.

hi everyone N95 8gb released in india and selling for 31000 rupees!!!(had a feeling it would be more but its less than my e90)i think the phone is priced very well. great nokia good price .

You can decide, delete it or record, and where. But notice, that when you open such a BT message, phone recognise art of file and prompt you where it store.

N85 receiving files via Bluetooth question

Hey there!
I bought my self a new nokia n85 and when I receive a file via BT it goes into my SMS inbox as a BT massage and then i need to open it and save it from there.
Is there any way that the files will be automatically saved wherever they suppose to be saved? (songs to the songs library, pictures to gallery, etc)

I've had many nokia's and almost all of these phones used to have the IM application. But its missing on my N95-3.
frankly this was quite useless until now. There's a new free IMPS service out there @ www.mobjab.com.
My friend has an N95-1, and she has the IM app. So i'm asking where is it on mine???

Defender on your N95 using wide screen virtualy impossible to play but would look nice. obviously the simpler games should work fine.

Where is the new update for N95-3 and N95-4? i have this two phones and i fell disappoint and mad becuz i bought this expensive cellphone and we have no support from Nokia.. this is no fair we are consumers like any other in the world. And the european model of N95 has a lot of updates and we r exent of the updates and support.. thats no fair my cellphone cost a lot of money and no support? only one update for year?.. my cellphone N95-4 compared to the European model is a garbage. Actually, it's the American market that set Nokia aside.
Nokia initially refused to allow network operators to customize their phones' firmware. Consequently, American network operators all but stopped buying Nokia phones. Nokia has since relented and does carry out a certain amount of trade in America now, but they're nowhere near as popular over there as they are elsewhere in the world.
Add their lower popularity in America to the fact that you all use different frequency bands from the rest of the world, which means a different set of hardware, and you begin to understand why the American market is a bit of a bugbear and why Americanised products are low priority. If American networks followed the same standards as elsewhere in the world you'd all benefit from the same updates.
Note that this is just personal speculation and not necessarily Nokia's official standpoint. I am not a Nokia employee.

N95-1 has been updated to v20 with demand paging and N95 8GB came installed with it.
But... N95-3 for ameirca still is slow................

Yes I agree. If anything can we get the updated camera software.. It sucks to try to use the camera and it takes quite a long time to go from snap to snap. on my N95-1 after the update the camera was pretty quick processing images etc. to where you could actually use the camera. Now its currently so slow that it makes using the camera unbearable.

Unfortunately you cannot download older versions. Even if you could you would not be able to flash it onto your phone without NSU.
The only way to roll back firmware is to get it done at your nearest Nokia Care Centre.

BTW, Why do you want to roll back firmware anyway? I started with V11 and have updated a few times since and every update has improved my phone.

Where is the file stored (N95)

I sent my N95 an MP3 from my computer at work via blue tooth. I opened it and was there on able to access the song through the music player.
I wanted to be able to access the file from my home PC so I connected the N95 via the USB interface and navigated through the phone via windows but the file does not appear to be in any of the directorys. I also had a look on the phone through the File Manager and it wasn't there either. Are there hidden directorys that my N95 can store files in?

Hi there..
Ohh man, i really need help with this. I have bin searching
all over the internet after a update for my device central.Cause
everytime i update, it say that my update was completed and a
success. But im still missing a profil device(N95 +8GB)
Why can´t i see Nokia N95 with 8 GB?? I can see N95 but
not N95 +8GB. Is this because they use the same applications?? I
mean, if i create a flash app in flash lite for N95, will i bee
able to use this as a standalone-player in N95 +8GB?
Please help me with this, cause i am new to mobile
app´but i love it all ready.

Wheres the N95-3 firmware upgrade to match N95-1 v...

I have a N95-1 with v20 firmware and the changes in the camera software are like night and day as far as speed and operability of the camera.. Now I own a N95-3 and it is still on v11 firmware. The camera software is old and archaic worse then the original non-updated N95-1. Its so slow it makes using the camera totally unbearable.
NOKIA CAN WE PLEASE GET A FIRMWARE UPGRADE FOR THE N95-3 THAT WILL MATCH THE V20 FIRMWARE ON THE N95-1.

I paid for the phone 600$ and no Firmware update and this is my first Nokia Phone , I am NOT happy NOKIA
I will never , never again bay your product !!!
Is it because we are in North America that we do not deserve the update...
We need some answers Nokia
