Where is Image Ready in Photoshop CC?

I have Photoshop CC to which I subscribed last week.  I cannot locate Image Ready.  Where can I find it?

ImageReady was discontinued in 2007 in the CS3 upgrade cycle.

Most, but not all, of its features were incorporated into Photoshop CS3.

Sorry I would not know how to score a copy of the Program disc. I would not even trust it if I did.
Photoshop is one of the most pirated software out there and in cases loaded with malware.

  • Getting photoshop cs4 to work like image ready cs2 did for web - help :)

maybe one day i'll be able to come on here and give someone some help
ok im pretty new to using cs4 photoshop and i was quite comfortable in using cs2 with the swith over to image ready when doing slices and rollovers etc,
i have seen various people saying that image ready is no longer, i was just wondering if someone could give me a dummies guide to doing the same tricks on cs4
im looking to make slices, i can see the slices tool but i cant see how you go about doing rollovers and what not for links, im a beginner in doing web sites so im not into the coding yet
what i would normally have done in cs2 is -
do my web page layouts, everything except content,
do my links and rollovers on every page of my site then transfer over to dreamweaver, adding all my website content and linking the pages together
    can anyone please help

  • Having problem with images imported from photoshop

I am totally new to Fireworks, I am redoing a site that was done using CS2, that is GoLive, Photoshop and Image Ready. I wanted to begin familiarizing myself with Fireworks by starting with using it to make all the web images for the site (jpgs, pngs, etc). It started well but after a while I started getting strange results from FW when I imported PSD files. The PSD imports fine into FW but when I want to "preview" or do a "2-UP" and see what it looks like as a jpg or png I just get a blank image where the jpg or png is supposed to be. However if I "export" the jpg it does get exported, but I would like to preview it to see what the quality is. This doesn't happen every time but at least 50% of the time in the last 2 days, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind why it works with some images but not others.
Another thing is that if I add a layer effect to the image such as "inner glow" to the PS image, and then flatten the image to make sure it gets exported to FW, it doesn't get exported. It is as if I never added the layer effect in PS.
Any help on these two issues would be greatly appreciated and help me to continue in perservering with FW.
    VL Branko

I don't think I've cracked open Bridge since upgrading to CS5/CS6, and I'm hesitant to start today! I'm therefore kind of assuming that you're starting with PSDs and opening them up in Fireworks. (If you're not doing this, give it a try.)
Regarding the 50% failure of Preview and 2-Up modes, I was thinking that saving the PSDs as native Fireworks PNGs—within Fireworks—might eliminate that problem. It's hard to imagine Fireworks not previewing its own file format, but easier to imagine it failing to properly preview a PSD file. And again, perhaps File > Image Preview might work better for you.
As far as the "inner glow" issue: 1) Be sure to add it into the PSD before importing into Fireworks, and 2) If it doesn't show up, have a look at Filters within the Properties panel for the selected object; you could try selecting Inner Glow within ‘Photoshop Live Effects’ or try out Fireworks' own native Inner Glow filter effect.
Other than for the purpose of familiarizing yourself with Fireworks, you may want to consider why you'd use Fireworks for these graphics, if they were originally created in Photoshop. Small changes in graphic appearance are always possible when moving between applications. For example, Photoshop is color managed whereas Fireworks is not; you therefore might notice a small shift in saturation or tonality between the two applications. Whether this is a concern depends on your final output goals.

  • How Do I Change an Animated Gif's Iteration and Loop Settings? (Pshop/Image Ready 7.0)

Background to Issue (NOT a PPT or Windows issue even though It will seem like that at first but read on...): I have to make Animated GIFS to be inserted into Powerpoint. I work on a Mac but the PPT presentation will be shown on PCs (non-negotiable, since I can't ask hundreds of sales reps who will be using this to install an outdated version of PPT). I already learned that I need to insert the Gifs while working on a PC or else it won't work). Fair enough- I can put it together on a PC, again not the issue. BUT, when I do THAT, the gifs still wn't animate unless I am in PPT 2002. Fair enough (Microsif going backwards not a surprise) So it won't work in PPT 2003 which is what the users will all have. But I need to get the presentation to them asap! I got a bit further in researching and found out that the solution is that I need to set my "Loop Flag" and "Iteration Settings" appropriately. See this link (http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/animated_gifs/gifs.htm)
BUT I am trying to find out if one can do this already somehow in Mac Photoshop 7.0 or Mac Image Ready 7.0, where I made the gif and would prefer to keep making my gifs. Maybe I need to upgrade Image Ready or Pshop to CS? SO THE FINAL QUESTION IS: Is there another way to manual do this without this PC Plug-in?
NOTE: Yes, I know how how to set the loop to "once" or "forever" in Image Ready when I make my Gifs but apparently I need to do this somewhere else...where the iteration setting lives too?

There is an ImageAnimator so you may not need to use byte array instead.

  • Help with image ready on ps3 extended

I am pretty new to photo shop and have cs3 extended.

The problem is once you work with a pic that is animated already then try to  add a dog.....by pasting....it removes the animation in the background pic.... and the picture no longer moves once the dog is added ?....She said she puts thru IMAGE READY...which I do not see anywhere on CS3 extended.  I will try to insert a pic she did for me and any help would be greatly appreciated....as I can do but then the picture is no longer animated once altered in my photoshop but she is doing somehow.....so has to be poss ?  If I were to do this pic it would stop moving once the dogs were added....plus not as good as her but practicing........could it be the fact she is doing in layers and I am doing copy and paste...I do know she puts thru Image ready and I do not know where this is located on cs3 extended or how to do?

I'm not sure anyone mentioned this but if not to open GIFs using the import you have to enter the GIF name as GIF isn't listed as one of the options.
It sounds like you are viewing the images in a maximized screen mode. To view more than one document, press F to cycle through the screen modes. FYI, only the contents of the currently selected document can be viewed in the layers palette.
I'll just talk about copy/paste so as not to confuse...
If you are going to copy/paste, click the frame around the dog document to target it. Your layers palette will now contain the contents of the dog document. Click on the layer in the layers palette with the selected dog over transparency. With that layer highlighted in your layers palette, press Ctrl A; then Ctrl C. (Select<Select All; Edit<copy if you prefer using the menu.) This will copy that layer into your clipboard.
Next, click the frame of the document containing the animation. Click the topmost layer in the layers palette because we want you dog to be in the top layer. Press Ctrl + V. (Edit<Paste if you prefer using the menu).
Your dog is most likely going to be too big. Use Edit<Free Transform to size and move the dog to the desired location.
At this point, your dog should be showing in each frame in the animation palette.
    Example:
    http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/25315/with-palettes-open.jpg
I'm using the older Image Ready me method. The highlighted place in the palette is where you switch methods between the old method and the new timeline. Notice, I have the layers and animation palette both in the workspace...and I'm not in a maximized mode. The red arrow shows the correlation between the frame and the layer represented by it in the layers palette.
    Image:second-image.jpg
Here I have a second image to slip into my animation. I have the creature selected and on it's own layer with transparency around it. Notice that the the layer with the isolated creature is highlighted. At this stage, I'll press Ctrl + A; then Ctrl + C to select and save this image to my clipboard.
    Image:creature-added.jpg
Here, I've pasted (Ctrl + V or Edit<Paste) in my creature and resized it (Ctrl + T or Edit<free transform) so he can be jumped. I also added a shadow under my creature which I added to a layer under my creature. Notice that when Frame on is selected in the animation palette that the eye is on both the creature and the shadow. If I click the eye to turn them (creature and shadow layer) off, they disappear from the entire animation. I can make them appear at any frame by clicking the desired frame in the animation then turning on the eye icon for the creature and shadow layer in the layers palette. I can also adjust opacity if desired.
You could even more than the one image if you want the dog to appear to move. Use the eyeball visibility to determine which pose will be used for that frame.
    Example:
    Image:jump-creature-gif.gif
Here, I used transform warp to adjust the pose of the creature for a few frames as he's jumping the creature...just for fun.

  • Animated .gif file correction and image ready help.

    Hi,
I have an animated gif created in an early verison of Image Ready & Photoshop. I need to make some changes. I have two problems.
A: Can't figure how to do it in the current version of Photoshop.
B: Open in the old image ready version, can't find the Layers pallet. I turn it on and off and it doesn't appear.
Trying to recreate a rotating .gif file any pointers or how to's?
    Thanks,
    John

You didn't say which version of ImageReady, but cs5 should open
most animated gifs from ImageReady and show the frames in the
Window>Animation panel. Some may not work right depending on
how old the version of ImageReady was that created them.
(you may have to resave the animation in ImageReady as a psd file)
In ImageReady try Window>Workspace>Reset Palette Locations and the layers
    palette should be visible.
In ImageReady, in the actions palette, are several actions to rotate (spin) images.

  • Images edited in Photoshop not showing up correctly in Lightroom after saving

    Hi,
I recvently got Adobe cloud and upgraded from Lightroom 3 to 4.  Since the upgrade I have been having issues with Lightroom not correctly displaying images edited in Photoshop.  Instead of the photoshop image it creates a new jpeg and displays that in the library.  the PSD does not get loaded into the library.
I am taking a jpeg from my library and shoosing the edit in Photoshop function.  I am selecting edit a copy, but have tried it with original and with edit a copy with lightroom adjustments as well with the same results.
In Photoshop I am duplicating the base layer, upscaling the image, running some filters, adding dsome adjustment layers.
I save the image in Photoshop format back to the original folder where the initial jpeg was in the Lightroom library.  I save it with maximize compatibility on.
When I go back to Lightroom, the catalog displays two files, the initial jpeg and an identical copy to it, NOT the new photoshop file with alterations.  If I go to the folder the images are housed in in Finder using the show in Finder command both images link to the same original jpeg.  The photoshop edited file is there in the folder but does not show up in Lightroom unless I drag and drop it.
I have turned off all filters and made sure the sort is sorting by name.  The image does not automatically show up in Lightroom after editing.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks for any help!
PS. I did search the topic and there are threads from 2007 and lightroom 2 but their solution was to start from scratch essentially and I have a carefully tagged, starred, and labeled catalog of 30,000+ images and really don't want to do that

Images that are edited in Photoshop will be displayed automatically in Lr only when the image-file saved in Photoshop is the same as the one opened from Lr.
You say you open a JPG from Lr, then edit it in PS by - among other things - adding some layers. Layers are not supported in the JPG-format so you have to either save it as a psd or as a jpg-copy.
In either case this is not the same image file as the one opened in Lr, so it will have to be imported into Lr to show up. If you would flatten your image after editing in PS and then do a <save> to your JPG - not a <save as> - it will show up in Lr.
PS: the only exception is when you open a Raw image from Lr in PS and you save it in PS in the file format specified in Lr for external editing. The saved file will automatically show in LR.

  • How do I open a raw image with the Photoshop raw plug in as opposed to the Bridge raw plug-in.

I read in a book on adobe raw that it is often useful to open an image at the same time with the adobe camera raw bridge plug in and the Photoshop camera raw plug in.
I can open a raw image in photoshop but I suspect I am not actually getting access to the camera raw plug in as none of the controls present in the bridge raw plug seem to be available from within Photoshop.
Of course I can access bridge and the bridge raw plug in by opening bridge from within Photoshop but this is not what I want to do.  I would like to open the image using the photoshop raw plug in not the bridge plug in.
    Clueless . . . and confused.
    --Kenoli

Thanks for the discussion.  It is interesting.  Let me clarify a bit regarding my issue.
I am using Mountain Lion OSX on a mac, of course, and CS6.  I have been using Aperture, a piece of Apple Software similar to Light Room to organize my images, opening them from Aperture in Photoshop to edit them, as I am both familiar with Photoshop and like the way it does things better than Aperture.  I recently started using CS6 and working with Adobe Camera raw 7, which I think is the version that comes with CS6.  All the info I can get from the web site, including a very nice tutorial from Adobe on camera raw, simply tells me to open it from Bridge.  When I do this, I get a nice set of sliders and other adjustments specifically associated with Adobe Camera Raw and the camera I am using.
I can open a file in Photoshop using the method SkillRooster suggests and, sure enough, it opens it with the camera raw plug-in (if I simply open the image by double clicking on it it opens in photoshop, no plug-in).  If I then go to bridge and open it from there, I don't get a second instance of Camera raw, it simply points me at the instance opened through Photoshop.
However, when I open a raw image in Photoshop from Aperture  (raw images open with no problem) I simply get the Photoshop interface, not the camera raw plug-in, the same as if I had double clicked on the image to open it from outside of Aperture.  I am trying to figure out if there is some way to open an image from Aperture in Photoshop so that it opens in the camera raw plug-in.  One possibility I could imagene is to open it in Photoshop and from there open it in the plug-in.  The only thing I see regarding this in Photoshop is a menu item that lets me close the image and open Bridge, which doesn't help me with my Aperture issue.  I could decide to switch to bridge, but with the thousands of images I now have in Aperture, this would be quite a bit of work.  I may just have to work with both going forward.
The root of my original question comes from something I recently read in a book by Bruce Fraser on Camera Raw which is excellent, but it focues on CS 5.5 as he died before being able to update it.  In that book he describes a trick he uses where he opens the raw image in a plug-in in Bridge and then opens it a second time using a plug-in in Photoshop.  This give him a chance to compare adjustments between the two open images.  As I mentioned above, when I try to do this by starting with Photoshop and then going to Bridge, it points me at the same instance.  I can't open it in Bridge and then Photoshop since once it is open in Bridge, it won't let me into Photoshop without closing the image in Bridge.  I was thinking there might be something in Fraser's method that would help me with my Aperture issue, but can't reproduce what he describes.
Perhaps this was possible in CS5.5 but no longer  in CS6.
Another work around I can imagine is to do all my raw editing from Bridge and then save the file as a DNG file in Aperture.  I suspect that after that, I am stuck with doing any more raw editing using the Aperture camera raw funcions, which are a bit lacking compared with Adobe Camera Raw.
Hope I am being clear here about my dilemma.  Any help would be welcomed.

  • Clicking an image created in Photoshop launches the program but...

Not sure where else to ask this. There isn't a Photoshop area.
New OS9 to OSX here. Going from Photoshop 6 (don't laugh) to CS1. When I click on an image created in Photoshop it launches the program but does not open the image. I have to either go into the "open" command and do it manually or do it by finding the document in my HD. Either way it's a drag and I suspect it's not the way it's supposed to be. It's a real time-loser.
The only thing I can think of is it's because I'm clicking on an image that was created on my G3 using Photoshop 6. On the other hand it DOES launch the program so I am not exactly sure what is going on.
Has anyone had the same experience?
    Thanks.

What happens if you click on Get Info and "open with" and set the image type to always use CS1?
Other thought would be to use Onyx or Tiger Cache Cleaner to update the "Launch Services" which is what connects and controls applications and document types.
(Might even want to consider Pogue's "Mac OS X: The Missing Manual" or something.)
Make sure you have Tiger compatible programs, don't have something installed which is not (Norton Utilities is out).
Set up a new test account or even a test system on another drive. And use that for doing repairs. Word of caution: never update OS X without a backup of your system.

  • Help- how do I make images ready for web gallery??

    Hi,
I am trying to create a photo gallery of images within Bridge using the Adobe Web Gallery feature. I have the images I want to use in a folder. What steps do I need to take to get the images saved in the correct format and file size? Also, what files sizes do you recommend for a web gallery? I need to make medium to large thumbnails & large images (when clicked). Here's what I am thinking I need in terms of getting this right:
use Adobe Photoshop/Bridge to create the gallery
    jpg for photos
    gif for solid colors
file size under 2MB (full image), under 20-30K for (thumbnails), total size of all images under 50K (no more than 50 sec. to download)
    screen size: 984x728
    screen resolution: 72dpi
If you could help me in any way, shape or form concerning making my images ready for a web gallery that would be most helpful. And if you can refer me to any resources on making a web gallery that'd be awesome. Thank you!

  • Cannot apply style to layers in Adobe iMage Ready CS2

Can anyone help? I am trying to create rollovers in Adobe Image Ready CS2 and then apply a style. In this case an inner shadow and bevel & emboss. I have done this in the past without any problems. I can apply the styles, but they do not show on the layers and when I save the rollovers you still can't see the styles that I have added. What am I doing wrong?
If anyone has an answer, I'd be most grateful to hear it!!!!
    Many thanks

  • Compatibility with Adobe Image Ready ver. 7.0

I installed Leopard (10.5.2) and now Adobe Image Ready 7.0 (IR7) no longer launches. When I click on it to launch it the splash screen appears and the last thing it shows is "starting plugins" then the screen disappears but Image Ready is NOT loaded.
I realize that IR7 is rather old. I can't even find it listed on Adobe's support website!
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get IR7 working again under Leopard? (Worked fine in Tiger 10.4.x.)
If I can't resuscitate IR7 then I need another program that shows you what an jpg or gif will look like at different qualities before saving it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
