Where is InDesign CC 2014.1 installed on my Win 7 PC?

Hi,
I used to have multiple versions Indesign on my computer Win 7 PC. When InDesign CC 2014.1 came out I deleted other versions. Everything works properly but I noticed that my .indd files are not associated with ID and I can't find out where it's installed so I can associate the executable file with my files.
Can you tell me where it is located?
Thx.
Phil

C:/Program Files/Adobe/InDesign CC 2014
BUT, you'd be better off if you reinstall instead, as that will restore the icon handler that you removed when you uninstalled the old versions, and then your files will show the correct version icon.

Installing the update to InDesign CC 2014 it only gets to where it says "Finishing," hung up at this point for a week or more. What now? In the CC Activity Stream it is not listed as a program I have updated, so I am sure it did not finish. If it is stable as is I do not have to upgrade at this point -- just started an important project and stability is my biggest concern. But I do want to know how to complete installing  this upgrade.
    Thanks,

  • How do I install and/or activate the "Channels Model.InDesignPlugin" for InDesign CC 2014?

I need to package my files today for an online class using InDesign CC 2014 and I keep getting this error message:
Where and how do I either install or activate this plugin?
Thank you for any help provided on this matter.

    Hi, Larry
Thanks for responding. Yes: I have tried  both ways: First to Save file, then Export to .idml, then reopen to package while inside InDesign  -and- as Save file, Export to .idml, Save, Close file, then Reopen as .idml, to package. I also tried a straight out export to PDF and all I get is a blank page with registration, bleed, and crop marks.
Very weird and frustrating. I checked my Extensions Manager just to make sure I didn't miss anything or if I could activate it from there. Channels Model.InDesignPlugin or anything resembling that does not exist. I have been searching on Google to see what I can find. My instructors are aware of the issue so far but this is greatly impacting two of my classes.
Last things I have tried were a full uninstall and re-install  since my last post just to see if that would work. Nothing. Same issue still. The .indd verison opens per usual with missing three types of plugins that are YTDChannel related. Even though if I don't need this plugin as mentioned previous by /u/jmlevy, then why is everything coming up blank?
Thanks to everyone trying their best to help me.

  • InDesign CC 2014 MENA not installing properly?

I used to have the InDesign CC MENA version installed on my Mac. Since updating to CC 2014 it all seems to have disappeared. I have selected the English Arabic language in the App preference (within the Desktop App). I have the 'World-ready' composers in my Paragraph palette menu but I don't have any of the previous RTL or 'Kashida length' options! Where has everything gone?

    P Spier wrote:
Click the gear icon in the desktop app to set the language so you can download the right version.
I know that's where you set the language. I've set the language to English Arabic and it is still set at English Arabic but neither my InDesign or Illustrator download as the MENA version. That's why I need to know where the OS locale override is that Joel Cherney mentioned.
    Thanks

  • InDesign CC 2014 won't download or install

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 (Mountain Lion?) on a 2011 17" MacBook Pro. I have the Design Standard CC subscription.
I'm getting InDesign CC 2014 Mac files from customers, and they won't open in InDesign CC.
I would install InDesign CC 2014, but don't see a Mac installer in the Adobe Application Manager. (It was automatically pushed and installed to my PC a couple of months ago.)
I suspect I need to upgrade my OS, but I've read that Yosemite is an Adobe-killer, so I'm not doing that!
Mavericks is supposed to be good for Adobe products, but I can't find an installer. Apparently it's no longer available in the Mac App store.
I have a work-around for now, but I can't be the only one with this problem!
We have only two Macs here in my office, both still running Mountain Lion.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks, but I guess I was unclear.
I do have permission to install Apps. I have CC for Teams, I am the administrator.
My issue is that Indesign CC 2014 does not show up on my list of applications in the Application Manager on my Mac.
I also have CC on my PC. InDesign CC 2014 was automatically pushed to the App Manager, I installed it awhile back on my PC. But on my Mac, it's not even available to me.
I've researched it some, and it looks like InDD CC 2014 won't run in Mountain Lion (10.6.8) which would explain why it doesn't show up. Minimum specs = Mac OS X v10.7, v10.8, v10.9, or v10.10, according to Adobe. And I can't find a Mavericks (10.9) installer anywhere. And Yosemite is too new, I'm not going to beta test that.

  • Problems installing Illustrator CC (2014) and InDesign CC (2014) on OS X Yosemite

I'm currently having problems installing Illustrator CC (2014) and InDesign CC (2014) on OS X Yosemite. Both applications fail with the message "Installation Failed: The download appears corrupted. Please try again after a few minutes.(-60)".
I've tried uninstalling Illustrator CC and InDesign CC and then reinstalling, but still get the same error message. Other applications in Creative Cloud all install without issues.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and resolved it please?

Sorry for the slow response. My Mac wouldn't boot following a failed Yosemite update. I've since reinstalled Yosemite but the exact same problem persists. My Mac is standalone and not on a managed network.
Thank you for the troubleshooting link. I've tried the recommended fix for the -60 error but it doesn't appear to be possible to download the trial version of Illustrator or InDesign for CC editions. They just trigger the Creative Cloud installer and shortly after the -60 error again.
The problem is still specific to Illustrator and InDesign and I've tried uninstalling all Creative Cloud applications and reinstalling. Every reinstalls except InDesign and Illustrator.

I take it you want to download InDesign CC 9.2 (the version before InDesign CC 2014). You can do so from the Creative Cloud desktop app. Below the list of apps you've installed, there is a menu that lists previous versions:

  • Problem installing Indesign CC (2014)  - in log - Failed in key3List generation

Trying to install InDesign CC (2014), all other apps worked no issue with Creative Cloud. Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver CC (2014) all no problems.
I keep getting there was a problem installing InDesign CC (2014) with the error Installation failed. Unable to extract to temp directory, Please contact customer support. (EX11)
There is adequate disk space, no security issues with folder, have tried disabling Norton, on admin account.
I guess maybe the next step is to uninstall Creative Cloud and run cleaner as a last possibility.
    Any other thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Brian

I am also having the exact same issue. During installation, the CC App was unable to extract to a temporary directory. Please contact customer support (EX11). In my searches to resolve this issue someone pointed me to http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2014-direct-download-links.html to download CC apps manually. I was still having issues installing the program that way as well. When I extract the files to install an error in copying the files occurs. (Error: 0x80004005 Unspecified Error)
    Thanks.
    Edit:
    I am using Windows 7
After troubleshooting the process with adobe customer support, The few key things that made the install successful for me were thus...
1: Find your windows temp folder (press windows key+r) and type %temp% and hit ok. Find your temporary install and delete it and any copies you might have.
2: Make sure you have winzip, winrar or some other file extraction program.
3: Re-download InDesign from your CC app, and if/when it fails go back to the temp folder. (Do not try to download InDesign from the CC app multiple times.)
4: Extract your install in the windows temp file if necessary, and install manually through the installer in your temp folder.
5: The file should install without problems as this point, and proceed to update indesign.
This worked for me. If this does not work for you, customer support is available with your Creative Cloud Membership.
    Best of luck!

  • How to get inDesign CC after you installed the CC 2014 version?

So here is the thing, after the release of CC 2014, of course i've downloaded it and then I deleted all the CC versions from my computer. The thing is that an external software we use for branding material management does not work with inDesign CC 2014 documents so I need the CC version back. The thing is that on the creative cloud there are no more the CC Versions just the CC 2014, any ideas on how to get the previous version

    Hi DobsTotev,
Please refer the following screenshot in order to how to download/install previous version.
    1. Click on Filters & Versions drop down
    2. Click the "Install" drop down button for desire application and select CC with initial base version.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • New Adobe InDesign CC (2014) crashes continuously after installation, shows spinning wheel. Have re-installed 3 times now, same thing.

We had to install the new InDesign CC (2014). InDesign CC (2014) crashes continuously. We have un-installed the app twice and re-installed again.
We have tried to install the previous version of InDesign CC but that is no longer (conveniently for you, nightmare for us) available.
Everytime we launch the new InDesign CC (2014) to actually do some work, this crashes. It has cost us 4 hours work since this morning!
This seems to be an issue a lot of people are having.
An update for any app should happen without any glitsches, otherwise your product is not fit for purpose.
We are all paying monthly fees to Adobe to be able to do our day-to-day work.
For that we expect to be able to use these tools without loosing time and money every time you are updating software.

We were not able to get any crash reports - that option not available; the spinning wheel was coming on and off, but nothing would happen and nothing could be done, but re-start machines.
Have cleared prefs files since, this a few times. Based on suggestions found from others having the same problems.
After clearing prefs files, worked awhile , then the same happened.
    Hope this helps.

  • I recently installed Mavericks on this iMac and upgraded to Adobe Cloud 2014 now InDesign CC 2014 fails to launch and I get a crash report. Has this happened to anyone else?

I recently installed Mavericks on this iMac and upgraded to Adobe Cloud 2014 now InDesign CC 2014 fails to launch and I get a crash report. Has this happened to anyone else?

It isn't happening to everyone else, but if there was a trend of it happening to a lot of people, that would probably show up in the official InDesign user forum. But there aren't a lot of crash reports there, so it isn't something that's happening to everyone. There are a couple, so you might look at those. But since there is not a huge wave of crash reports, the problem might be more related to a problem on the system rather than a problem with InDesign, like a corrupted font.
The best place to troubleshoot is probably over at the Adobe forum since the users there know InDesign very well.
