Where is iSight on MacBook Air?

Hi. Can anyone help me with the following questions?
I am trying to connect to SKYPE via my new MacBook AIr and cannot get the camera to work...at all. I've tried everything and figured what may be missing is a connection to iSight...
Does anyone know how I connect to iSight on my MacBook Air?
Does anyone know how I can get video working on Skype via my laptop?

The camera with Skype problem fixed with the recent supplementary update to 10.8.5 - download and install it. Or you could also run the latest 10.8.5 combo updater again, as this now includes that update.

Hi,
i have Macbook Air 1,1.
iSight doesn't work in all apps, green LED turns on and all i can see in iBooth or skype or any other app - i black screen. i tried to reset SMC, boot with cmdalp+pr, format hdd+new mac os x, but nothing helps.
i read about the same problems on macbooks and there're some thoughts that i should disconnect battery, power and press powerbutton for 5 sec, but as you know i can't disconnect Air's battery.
anyway, any thoughts about how can i fix that? pls help me.

If CMCSK's good suggestion does not correct your problem, consider the following:
(1) If your problem remains after restarting your MBA, use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then use your Mac's  > Software Update... to check whether Apple software updates are required. If so, install them and repair permissions again.

HT1941 where can i get MacBook Air 11" Backlit Sheets?

the MacBook Air 11" Backlit Sheets is show some damage after the screen crack.
i have been looking over place in australia to find it.

Apple does not readily supply backlights or other apple parts (aside from ram or processors when applicable) to average citizens, as self-service would most likely void the warranty on that or another part.
Buying a third party replacement screen is also not recommended, as third-party screens
     A: are not trusted to work and may fail quickly/not work at all
     B: are not covered by the machine's remaining warranty/apple care
     C: require self installation or ACT installation that may void the product's remaining warranty.
If you need a new screen (as it would sound that the whole screen needs replacing anyway) I would definitely take that machine to an available Apple store Genius Bar.

Hi Klaus, I have tried to do that before - I think you replied before, asking me what system I was using. My response was 'Hello, thank you, I am using OS X Version Lion 10.7.5 and iMovie '11 vwesion 9.0.4 (1635).'
Despite completely clearing my machine, and moving the movie project to an external drive, when I try to finalise the movie I get error -108 after approximately one hour of processing.
I am very keen to be able to export this film. My technical knowledge is limited and I learned a basic level of iMovie to make the film - often online responses and suggestions are too complex for me - hence my question about where I would go to have an expert look at this problem...
Any suggestions would be most welcome, thanks

Firefox 13.0.1 stops responding when removing cookies on my MacBook Air

Firefox 13.0.1 stops responding and I have to force it to quit when I try to clear cookies on my MacBook Air using
Tools->Clear Recent History->cookies selected
Preferences->Privacy->Clear Recent History when Firefox Closes->cookies selected
In either case, if I do not select cookies I have no problem.
Preferences->Privacy->Show Cookies->Remove All cookie has no problem.
I can recover simply by forcing Firefox to quit then restarting Firefox. I then deselect cookies in both cases and Firefox acts normally.
I do not have this problem on my MacBook Pro. Both the Pro and Air have been rebuilt from erased discs within the last several weeks.
This is similar to the thread "Firefox Stops Responding After Adobe Flash 11.3.300.262 Installed" (should be .257)" but in this case I do not access a flash site, FlashBlock is installed, and Flash is disabled. The recovery from this problem is very intrusive since I have to delete every file that says "Firefox" and reinstall Firefox.

I have tried the new Flash on my MacBook Pro using Firefox 13.0.1 at the same USA Today Crossword site, puzzle 6/25/2012 and I do ''' not''' have this problem.
The variations I see are
* I used the same DMG to put Adobe Flash on both machines and they are both at 11.3.300.257, 11.3 r300
* I used the same DMG to put Firefox 13.0.1 on both machines
* The MacBook Pro is 15" (late 2011) OS X 10.7.4 build 11E53
* The MacBook Air is 13" (June 2012) OS X 10.7.4 build 11E2705
* Both are the latest available OS X levels for their respective platforms.
* Both platforms have been built from erased discs and Apple recovery discs within the last few weeks. (The Air was rebuilt yesterday, 6/24).
* The OS X 10.7.4 software is at different build levels and additional software has been installed to support the Air.
* I have Shockwave Director 11.6.3r633 installed on the MacBook Pro
My findings:
* On the MacBook Pro, Firefox at the specified Flash site work as advertised
* On the MacBook Air, Firefox at the same flash site stops respondings and must be force quit.
Open questions:
* Must I have Shockwave Director also installed?
* Does the OS X software build level have an effect of some sort?
* Does the model series of the MacBooks - late 2011 and June 2012 - affect the problem. The Air has only been available in the within the last few weeks and I ordered it the day it became available.
Does the pointing circle become "shift one left" or "shift one right"?

The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings in caps, such as ON MY MAC. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for MAILBOXES), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The MAILBOXES category can't be hidden.
In each category, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small disclosure triangle. If the triangle points to the right, click it so that it points down.

On my MacBook Air late 2013 model I am having a problem with Microsoft office word for Mac where the window for the document becomes all gray and I can not see anything that I have typed or any menus for it and also windows will sometimes dissapear and I am having truble getting them back. As time goes by (months or years), keep your eyes on how long Microsoft continues to support Office 2011 for Mac. Eventually you should consider Office 365 or Apple's Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.

It would have saved to your camera roll. Connect the phone to your Air via a USB cable and then run Image Capture which is located either in your Utilities folder or Other folder, depending on what version of Mac OS X your are running. You will then see all the photos and videos stored on your iPhone and can then download them.

There is no download for the software. The factory software that you are looking for is called ilife. It is all of the software that would have came preinstalled with your mac on your original hard drive when you first bought it. You will have to get new software on your computer. This might actually be a great opurtunity to upgrade to Lions. Search the Lions software in the mac store and it will come up. Click add to cart and check out. The price for it is $20. I defientely recomend Lions, it has alot of new great features. Then wate for the install disk to come in the mail. when it come just pop it in and follow the step by step instructions. If you dont want to upgrade to lions however you can download the ilife package from apple.com for a small price. Hope this helps.

Just in case, to keep on-hand in case I would like to reinstall Lion, I would like an image file to put on a USB drive.
I obviously didn't get a DVD with the Macbook Air, but also didn't get any instructions (nor can find them online) of where to download my disk image.

That's because an image for the new MBAs isn't available to the public. A special Lion build containing MBA hardware specific drivers is required.
It is intended that the recovery partition/internet download method be used to restore/rebuild. This likely won't be sufficient in all cases--though it should suffice for most recovery situations.
As to an image from Apple--that would be speculation.

Ok,I am going CRAZY!! So my MacBook air just crashed, right so I went to the Apple Store a few hours ago, and they restarted everything so I have to start from scratch. Then the lady asked "would you like me to install the new version of the latest IOS" so I said ok.
So now the dashboard and all looks so different to me (I have a MacBook Air btw)...like you know the iPhoto with all the pics from your iPhone that's on the dashboard...its gone!! I do "Spotlight search" and type in "iPhoto" "Photo Gallery" etc...nothing!
My question is where is the place that all your pics are stored, like the iPhoto/or a photo gallery on dashboard, and how can I VIEW them that is have an icon for it on my dashboard so I can look at them just by clicking "iPhoto" all my albums/events show up.
So I just uploaded my iPhone into my laptop, and all the photos go to somewhere called "Pictures"...but that not what I am looking for. I want a place like a photo gallery to view all my pics, and put my uploaded pics in separate albums by category...where do I do that with this IOS....its soo different!!!

1 - there is NO IOS for MBA - only OS X - what version is installed? to find look under the Apple menu ==> about this Mac
2 - If you have OS X Yosemite 10.10.x then you need iPhoto 9.6 - install from the App store if you do not have it
3 - at this time albums on you cell phone do not translate into albums on your Mac - you can import photos but you have to make the albums on the Mac in iPhoto

ISight not working in Photo Booth with NEW MacBook Air?

I purchased an 11" MacBook Air and received it on May 29, 2014. When I got it, I had no problems with the webcam. Now, whenever I open Photo Booth, it doesn't load. All it shows is a white loading icon on a black screen. My webcam works in FaceTime, Skype, etc., but not Photo Booth. I've tried it in test user, I've tried SCM and PRAM reset, I've re-installed Mavericks, and I've installed the combo update, and nothing has worked. What could be the problem, and how can I resolve it?
