Where is itunes version number

Apart from the questions I rasised in a post several days ago, iTunes store now crashes as soon as the page is accessed. This problem is a function of the just released version of iTunes for 'my' Windows 7 machine.
I see no new threads regarding others and this issue?
Where do I find my iTunes version # for the purpose of reference?
*Most importantly* is there a way to roll back your currently updated version of iTunes to the one previous???
Mark

To roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the installer from here, uninstall iTunes. Probably best to also remove other suppporting software, e.g. Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support & Bonjour. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • Itunes version number

*What do the numbers of the version mean? i have 8.0.2.20*

The iTunes version number is just a means of identifying the version of the program. For instance, every program starts with at least version 1. Then they can move to version 1.02, then 1.02.22, then 1.3 when updated. Each time the numbers increase, the program is updated. Each update can contain fixes whether fixing bugs, security improvements, or product enhancements. You have the current version of iTunes, 8.02.20. The numbers are not a secret code of any kind. All it is is the version of your program.

  • ITunes Connect, Version Number,  Bundle Version

ios ,iTunes Connect,Version Number, Bundle Version
I have an app at iTunes Connect Version 3.3 - status has been Ready for Sale for a long time.
I have a new version with major changes of my app that is ready for release.
It has Bundle Version 4.6.0. It is validated and I am ready to distribute, BUT
at iTunes for the new version number I entered "4.6". My bad, I now
know that I made a mistake and the the "4.6" will appear to the public as the
new version number. I want the public to see "4.0" as the version number.
How can I do this? I see no way to cancel the current "prepare for submission" data.
Am I simply stuck with this jump from V:3.3 to V:4.6
Many Thanks for reading this, Mark

I will answer this myself. The existing app V:3.3 at iTunes Connect was put up with an Info.plist Bundle Version of 4.5.1. I am force by the current demands of iTunes Connect, as I see it, to go higher than 4.5.1 , on the upcoming release. The interface does allow me to go to a Version 4.0 at iTunes but when I do so , the app will not be validated in Organizer, because of the discrepancy between Info.plist BundleID and iTunes Version. It appears to me that there has been a change made at iTunes Connect that I missed. Earlier a "public" Version of 3.3 at iTunes could exist with an info.plist  Bundle Version 4.5. but now  4.0 at iTunes can not be used after the move to a Info.plist Bundle Version reaches 4.6.0. I have to move to an iTunes Version number of 4.6.0 when I really want 4.0.0. I understand the demand for ever increasing numbers in Version and Bundle Version, but IMHO , I should be permitted to use 4.0.0 !

  • How do I find my iTunes Version

How do I find which version of iTunes i have.

On an XP system, launch iTunes and then go "Help > About iTunes". The iTunes version number will be the first thing that scrolls up from the bottom of the screen.
To quickly check to see the versions of iTunes and all the other associated software currently installed on the PC, in iTunes go "Help > Run Diagnostics", uncheck all four boxes, and then click "Next". The diagnostics will give you a list of all the software componentry and their versions. for example, I see:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
    LENOVO 889703U
    iTunes 10.2.2.12
    QuickTime 7.6.9
    FairPlay 1.11.17
    Apple Application Support 1.5.1
    iPod Updater Library 10.0d2
    CD Driver 2.2.0.1
    CD Driver DLL 2.1.1.1
    Apple Mobile Device 3.4.0.25
    Apple Mobile Device Driver 1.55.0.0
    Bonjour 2.0.5.0 (214.3)
    Gracenote SDK 1.8.2.457
    Gracenote MusicID 1.8.2.89
    Gracenote Submit 1.8.2.123
    Gracenote DSP 1.8.2.34

  • Where is the EXACT version number shown?  Where is the menu link to the Help file?  Why is there no scroll bar?  The new iTunes is terrible in more ways than I can list... how do I switch back to version 10?

The newest iTunes version has no Help option.  Why?  And, no ability to find out the version number.
The new iTunes, when in album view in Windows 7, has NO SCROLLBARS, so it is impossible to scroll the albums.  Why?
Answer these questions, as I am an AAPL shareholder and I am NOT happy with these and other changes you've made to iTunes.

The newest iTunes version has no Help option.  Why?  And, no ability to find out the version number.
You may need to bring up your Menu Bar to see the Help menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Once you've got your Help menu showing, go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen, as per the previous versions.

  • HT1349 I don't have a MAC, I have an HP pavilion a706n so I don't know what the serial number is. The HP serial number was accepted and neither was my itunes serial number. Does anyone know where to find the serial number?

I am trying to find the serial number that is required by itunes for troubleshooting. But the trouble is, I don't know what it is.
My computer is a HP (not a MAC). I have the itunes serial number. Before loosing my almost 5000 songs I was using an
older version of itunes. I thought if I upgraded to the new version that I would get my itunes back. When I noticed the songs
were gone was when I was taking saved items from my documents into a new 500G hard drive I bought yesterday. After
loading a bunch of stuff it (not any itunes) I went into itunes and ALL of my songs were gone. What happened? What should
I do? & Where is that serial number they are talking about?

    Hi Susan,
Not sure why your post ended up in the Apple Server section but here goes.
By default your music should be located in one of the following locations
which you can see by clicking on My Computer
Windows XP - C:\ - Documents & Settings - Username (your name or your login name) - My Music - iTunes
    Windows Vista/7 - C:\ - Users - Username - My Music - iTunes
it's unlikely your music has been wiped and more likely that iTunes can't find the library file that tells it what music is in your collection and where it's located. This can happen if you renamed or moved one of the folders above to something/somewhere else. Another idea is to do a search and look for files in a format used by iTunes such as .mp3 or .aac which might show you where they are.
    Hope that helps

  • HT1386 the latest version of iTunes, the number of which I cannot even find, is hopelessly unfriendly.  I no longer get automatic updates of the weekly podcast "Wait, wait...", and when I enter it myself there is no apparent way to synrchonize it onto the

I am so frustrated with this version of iTunes that I cannot express my disgust for it in words.  I can't even find what version number the thing is.  My podcast screen,. which is what I'm trying to edit now, looks like this:

    Superb detail, thank you.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

The iTunes application should be installed on the system drive. You may need to repair iTunes to fix that error regarding a missing .exe.
To organize your library properly see Make a split library portable.
If you don't have a working version of the library that can be transformed into a portable shape I have tools and techniques that can repair the broken links.

  • What is the 2.0 version number if downloaded directly from iTunes?

If you are one of the lucky ones to get the download from iTunes, can you please tell me what the version number is? Just fire up your phone and go to settings/about. Scroll down and you will see Version 2.0 (xxxxx).
I am one of those that probably voided its warranty by downloading manually. Mine says 2.0 (54347). Just wondering if we are getting the same. I was lucky and it all went well but I started to notice a few things. Like after using 3-4 apps, I have to reboot the entire phone since I can't start new ones. Also, the keyboard typing gets a bit slow after a while.

Thanks for the reply... Besides the slight difference in file name, yesterday manual download version was 230,427KB. I saw someone say iTunes version was 215 and on another board, I saw 218. Do you know the size of the one you got through iTunes?
I am sure there is a difference somewhere. There is always a price to pay for being inpatient.

Where can I find a mapping of the Mac Powerbook version number (e.g., 3.1) to the dates (e.g., "late 2007") that Apple uses for indicating compatibilty with OS upgrades?

There were no PowerBooks made in 2007. By then Apple had switched over to Intel and they were making MacBook instead.

In one of the upper corners - I forgot if it's left or right.
You can make it appear in the sidebar as it did in older versions of iTunes if you like.  Just go to iTunes' menu and do View > Show Sidebar
