Where is JDK 1.4 beta?

This used to be listed on the main page, but it's not there any more. It's not on the 'Early Releases' page either for some strange reason!

It's at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/
Thanks...actually, I knew that...I was just wondering if the link was intentionally removed as Sun didn't want to release it or something.

Where is episode 3 of Better Call Saul? I don't see it on itunes???

As far as I can see it only aired yesterday, presumably the TV studio/rights-holder haven't yet passed it to Apple to put it in the store.

  • Where can i buy a better a fios router?

Okay so where can i buy a better router? Right now i have the default
    MI424WR
    Rev.E
    and i want to get
    MI424WR
    Rev.F
but where to buy in stores?
They seriously need to put it in stores or something i want to upgrade my wireless speed! I am getting bout 12 Mbps download and 5 Mbps up... Also on my ps3 lag... i have bout a 10Mbps speed on my ps3 or sometimes 2Mbps... I have 25/25 but not near but when i use my ethernet port i get great speed from 25 down to 23up so seriously put more routers in stores so i can buy and you make more money... I am not an online shopper. PLEASE put more Rev.F in stores so i can buy it... and what does this mean?
It said future so what does that mean they will upgrade the router for rev e or are they talking bout rev f???

For an upgraded router, you'll have to ask Verizon to send another one out and hope they do so. Otherwise, you'll have to ask a tech to stop down and see if he can give you something like a Rev. F. It's a gamble right now since as you stated, they don't let you buy what version of the FiOS router you want. You're basically given something that works with the service and that would be it.
How are you measuring the speed on the PS3, by the way? The speed test built-in to the PS3 is known to be unreliable and not useful for anything but a basic DSL or Cable connection. You're better off performing a speed test within the PS3's web browser to something like testmy.net or by downloading from PSN a game demo to the hard drive. In addition, you're also better off wiring the PS3 to the router. The reliability of a wired connection cannot be beat.
I would also check the Wireless speed on a Wireless PC, if possible. You may just need to change the channel your router operates on if there are other networks in your area using the same channels.
On a final note, I cannot see your attachment at the moment as it needs to be approved, second of all, you can use your own router with the FiOS service, as outlined here: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16077

  • JDK 1.3 better than 1.1? Help me prove it!!!

i need any case studies done where a company upgraded their software from 1.1 to 1.3 and why it was better ? Can anyone help ?

What kind of application(s) do you have? For the server side, we have seen remarkable improvements in performance and SMP scalability (add more CPU's get more performance) in 1.3.1 than in 1.1.7. We replaced 10 Sun 4500's with 10 CPU's each running NetDynamics on a Java 1.1.7 platform with WebLogic 3 Sun 4500's with 10 CPU's each running WebLogic Server 6.0 on a Java 1.3.1 platform. We even saw a significant improvement in performance between 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 (about 10%).
Of course more than one variable changed between NetD w/ 1.1.7 and WLS w/1.3.1, but our other benchmarks have show 1.3.1 to substantially outperform 1.1.7 (3X or more for server-like benchmarks).
For an example of Java 1.3 versus Java 1.4 performance boost see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/performance.guide.html.
If you are on Windows or IBM platforms, you should also look at the IBM Java 1.3.x JVM's as they tend to out-perform Sun's JVM's in many circumstances.
Why would you stay on Java 1.1? Is there come concern or need that prevents you from upgrading? Are you concerned about applet compatibility in internet applications?

  • WTF ? Where's JDK ? Struggling to Install JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.4.0)

    Hi Everyone !
I"m struggling to re-install JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.4.0) in my Mac OS X Mountain Lion (Version 10.8.4). Can someone please assist me with this issue ? I believe I might have ran into this, with an earlier version; but recently had computer problems and to wipe my system and upgrade my HDD and Memory. So, I'm back to square one and need to install this pursue my independent Java 7 programming self-lessons.
If this questions seems trivial or beneath you, I apologize in advance. I'm just a newbie wishing to improve myself through the acquisition of new I.T. skills.
    God Bless.
    - Frederick

    Frederick ,
May I know what is the error that you are encountering ? .  Hope the below info might help you
    nstallation on Mac OS
Some additional steps are required to install JDeveloper on Mac OS beyond what is documented in the installation guide. Please refer to the installation guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26098_01/install.1112/e17074/toc.htm) for additional details on installing JDeveloper for Mac OS X.
    1. Make Java 6 the default VM.
    Run Java Preferences (in /Applications/Utilities/Java)
Move the Java SE 6 (64 Bit) to the top of the Java application versions list (General tab)
    2. Create a symbolic link for classes.jar (requires root access)
    To enable root user:
For Mac OS versions older than Snow Leopard, simply open the Directory Utility app from Applications - Utility
For Mac OS versions Snow Leopard and more recent:Go to System Preferences - Users and Groups. Click Login Options, and then the Join button (enable configuration changes if necessary). Then, proceed by clicking Open Directory Utility.
Ensure the settings are unlocked (click the lock if necessary)
Choose Edit > Enable Root User and provide the root user password.
Note, you can return to this same screen to disable root user after creating the symbolic link
Create the symbolic link from a terminal session:
Note: You may need to repeat the steps to create the symbolic link after installing a new JDK.An additional step is required to successfully run applications on Mac systems that have Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 installed (8681385):
Open the jdev.conf file. The file is located in the MW_HOME/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ directory.
Add the following line to the jdev.conf file: AddVMOption -Djava.io.tmpdir=/var/tmp
    Thanks

I think, it's about permission because I know that Tiger has better security than 1.4.
May be my tomcat has classpath to my old 1.4, but it's not important. Bug is here. Backward compatibility must be ok.

  • JDK 1.4 beta 2 problems

When I try to install the JDK 1.4 beta2, I get the following error in a dialogue box titled, 'Can't run 16-bit Windows program':
"Cannof find file C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\pft1F79~tmp\disk1\SETUP.EXE (or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available."
I am running Windows 2000 SP2 on a PIII-450 with 256MB of RAM and 2GB of free drive space. Does anyone know why I'm getting this error?

The problem here is that Sun is distributing a 32-bit only
program with a 16-bit installation software. They use
Installshield for the installation. They forgot to check
off 32-bit runtime when packaging the installation software.
For whatever reason, the 16-bit subsystem in Windows is
disabled and the 16-bit installation software can't run.

  • Where can I download a beta bios?

I have searched the web for hours and I cant seem to find a Beta bios for my 865G-PLS MB, I am looking for a bios that has fixed the X800 videocard problem and one that allows the CPU core voltage to be adjusted.
          Thanks for the help.

Thanks Del and Danny,  the only issue I have atm is the fact I bought a prescott =P,  really though I installed an X800 Pro and I have problems with lock ups due to the X800 bios isue and I really dont want to use the 3.7 bios because I am unable to change the core voltage, thus I cant overclock and hit 3.7 Ghz anymore.
I am going to go ahead and use the 3.7 and see if it clears up the issue I am having and go from there, but going from 3.7Ghz back down to 3.4Ghz is gong to cause me great pain hehe.

  • Upgrade JDeveloper JDK to the latest JDK 1.3 Beta ?

I need to use the latest JDK 1.3 from Sun and thought how
do I upgrade the JDK in JDeveloper ? Any specific instructions
    are appreciated. Thanks.
    null

    Hi
Yes. You can use a different version of the JDK by following
    these steps:
    1. Tools | Default Project Properties (or Project | Properties
    depending on
    your need).
    2. Target JDK version: Click Define.
    3. Click New. Browse for java.exe. The Class path and Source path
    will
    auto-populate.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Select the new target JDK for any existing projects you wish
    to use.
    regards

  • Where can I find the beta version with Windows 8 metro support?

I want to try out the old beta version of firefox which included a Metro / touch version for Win 8, however all I can find is a link to the source.
Is there an installer somewhere in the archives that I can just install instead of having to build the source myself?

Thanks James. I know support was dropped but there are archives of every beta version online so I'd like to download the latest version of the beta which had Metro support before it was dropped.

Sounds like a bug to me. Do the other read() methods work as expected? I suppose you could compare the source from JDK1.3 with the source from JDK1.4 and see if something changed.
Worst case write your own method. I had to write one for J2ME since they decided that functionality wasn't important. grr.
    Good luck.
