There is no mention, even PR on the MSI site about this board?
Any word on release date? According to newegg I can buy in-stock 3800+ CPUs right now - but I don't have a MB to use it with?

Paid, registered-OK.. so now where is Quicktime Pro?

I paid for the upgrade, got my registration info, registered using the Quicktime preferences and it seemed to work fine. However, I only have the Quicktime Player, no Quicktime Pro application - is this lurking somewhere? From the Quicktime Player, when I check 'Registration' it shows the name and key I entered - no indication of any problem. So, where is Quicktime Pro with all its wonderful features?

OK, gotcha. My main reason for upgrading was so I could select an external synth instead of the default QT synth for playing back MIDI files. Since this feature continued not to work (no additional synths in drop down), I assumed that QTPro was not enabled. Now, having fiddled around with creating/editing movies, I see that it is there, hidden inside the player. Some documentation I looked at, said you should run the QT Pro application, then invoke the QT player from the menu. That's what confused me also - this was maybe from before version 7? Anyway, I'm still looking for how to specify another synthesizer for MIDI playback.

heehee yeah it does look nice. But they still going with their last statement of "retail in 1Q05", and i noticed that AMD wouldn't let them benchmark it yet.
The S-754 still looks good, tho i've virtually discussed with peeple that really like their S-940 even with the expensive RAM. Sooooo ya' know how the mind turns on decisions like this, 'round'n'round

Where does Logic Pro 7 install plug-ins?

Apologies, but I cannot find the answer to this question. Thanks in advance for any help!
Where does Logic Pro 7 install plug-ins by default on the computer? I have searched all through the Macintosh HD Library and with Spotlight to no avail.

Logic (and most other DAW host) applications deliberately do not make their plugins phycially separate AU (or VST) plugins that get installed in the Compononets folder. They do not want you to be able to use then with any other program. They are "inetgrated" into the code, and so not usable outside the app. Or the idea is, you don't get the plugins unless you buy the host program (and it is also a way to lock you into using their DAW software).
There was once I think talk of making some Logic plugins available as a 3rd party package, but that may have been before the Apple acquisition. So if you want your work to be portable to other DAW programs, then you are better off not using any of Logic's built-in plugins (and other 3rd party plugins do what Logic's plugins do, often better, though obviously you must pay for 3rd party plugins).

Where did my pro go?

I ordered and paid for QT Pro a little over a year ago. Since, I have used it to edit several videos w/o a problem. BUT recently when I load QT, I can not access the PRO settings. I try to re-register but do not know where to find the reg. key. It is not on the order form and calling Apple is a waste! Anyone else have this issue and resolved it?

Screen shots always go to the desktop by default, which is the same as going to the Desktop folder in your user home folder. There are various free utilities that will let you change where screen shots get saved, but if you haven't done anything like that, they should not be going to another folder.
Is it possible that you used the screen shot keyboard shortcuts but added the Control key to the shortcut? Because that would not save a screen shot file to the desktop, it would put the screen shot image on the clipboard instead. If this happens, you should be able to paste it into an application.
Have you tried using the Spotlight system-wide search to do a search for "Screen shot" ?

How can you tell where your Mac Pro was assembled?

I heard mention in another thread that some MP's were made in China while some were assembled in CA. Where do you find this information?

CS5 Master Collection Box Set - Where is Acrobat Pro 9 serial number?

Hi there-
I recently purchased the CS5 Master Collection Box Set - Student and Teacher edition. I have already properly registered myself as a Student with Adobe, and gotten a serial number which activated the Master Collection, but not apparently Acrobat Pro which is on a separate disc. I have searched through all the papers that came with the box, but so far no luck.
Anyone know where to track this down?

Yes, 24 digits for Acrobat on mine.
I have a sixth sticker on the box it has an eight digit number on it followed by the text: DVS/A.STAM.5.0.WIN,GEN,WWE,ACT. I think this is only the product code for the CS5 Master Collection for Windows.
The five serial numbers in the same order as above are 24, 34, 34, 24 and 24 digits.

CS5 Master Collection Mac - Where's Acrobat Pro

I downloaded the CS5 Master Collection trial for the Mac, which doesn't have Acrobat Pro in the Trial.
I purchased the license, but Acrobat Pro is still nowhere to be found.
Do I have to download it separately and enter the code again?
(Are there any other MIA programs that I need to be aware of?)

our new customer have an old application running
forms 4.5 and Pro*C
i just need to download them , but can't find any
link anybody know where to download both of thisOracle provides external links for supported product only. Forms 4.5 is no longer supported. Best you can hope for is to open a service request with Support or watch eBay.
Anyone other than Oracle providing download links o the public is violating their agreements with Oracle.

Where does Logic Pro 9 store it's sounds?

I have a Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.6 and what I want to do is move Logic's library (including Jam Packs) over to my external hard drive. What I mean by the library is all the software synths, and effects, and maybe even the Apple Loops. Again, I don't mean the sounds that I would record myself. So is there a specific folder where all the sounds are located?

Unfortunately, Logic looks in several places for different types of data files. The easiest way to free up some space might be to move some of the Apple Loops to a different drive (note that you may need to reindex the Logic loop browser).
By default, Apple Loops are stored in Library:Audio:Apple Loops:Apple (30GB in here)
The Sampler Instruments (13GB) installed with the JamPacks are stored in Library:Application Support:Garageband:Instrument Library
I would not move these unless really necessary. You may have to re-link theSampler Instrument files with the Samples (Redmatica.com for Pro Manager makes this really easy).
Logic samples are installed in Library:Application Support:Logic (3GB)
Impulse Responses (by default) are now installed in Library:Audio (2GB)
Once again, the easiest way to free up some space is to move some of the AppleLoops. Anything else may well cause you more trouble than it's worth.

Where to find PRO*C/C++ ?

I downloaded the 8161 enterprise edition for linux tarball (oracle8161_tar.gz) and found that PRO*C/C++ does not come with it.
What else do I need to download to install PRO*C? I read elsewhere that a license for the "developer" product is needed, but I don't know where this product is called, located or even whether it's downloadable.
Any pointers?

[Athlon64] CD / DVD not working properly, Neao K8T800 Pro series.

Hi all,
I purchased a MSI K8t Neo2 motherboard along with a AMD 64 3200+ (socket 939) in the beginning of May.
When i installed the parts in my case I experienced some problems getting windows (which I reinstalled) to detect all the Harddrives i had.
I solved this by putting 3 HDD's on one IDE interface, and 1 on a separate controllercard. on the other IDE interface i put my Sony DRU-700A DVD alone.
This worked, to a certain extent.. When I place a disc in the DVD, windows gets a hizziefit and starts to lag insanely, when it's finally done, it won't autostart the discs i put in, i can't double-click it from My Computer as i get the error:
"F:\
Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteprocessMemory request was completed."
Doesn't tell me much.. I then try ro right-click F: and select "exlore", AHA! this works. I get into the disc and i can move around in the foldertrees, but it takes time.. My GOD it takes time...
When i finally reach my destination and try to execute a .exe file, this happens:
"F:\ is not a valid win32 application".
At this point one starts to think: "ok.. i know that.. but the exe-file i tried to start IS..."
NOTE: From time to time i've noticed that it switched between these 2 error messages, i.e i get the "not valid" when trying to start the disc and the "ReadError" when starting a .exe-file, and vice versa.
I have the latest bios, i have tried adding a LG CD-R/W tp the process and tested if that worked, see results here: www.vikholm.se/say_what.gif
I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but i know that CAN'T be right?
I then went into the Device Manager and selected "uninstall" on my Sony DVD, thinking it has to find new hardware on reboot and reinstall it. Windows finds nothing, and i can't seem to get it back again..
Anyways, i noticed that 2 updates to my mobo was avaliable through MSI Live Update, so i choose the newer one and install it, thinking it might solve this problem.
Select reboot -> Click "exit now" on firefox.exe -> run for work as i', late -> come home now just to see that windows did NOT reboot as i got an error code from some exe-file.
Anyways, reboot properly this time and half-way through the boot up it reboots again, and at the loadingscreen where you can see the biosversion and such it says:
"Sec Master drive is not ATAPI compatible
F1 to Resume"
This is my LG CD-R/W. I press F1 and it boots just fine, and i see that my LG is no longer avaliable in My computer.
These are my problems.
To sum things up:
1. Could it be my mobo that is screwed up in the IDE interfaces?
2. Could it be my IDE cables? (i don't have any others to try with =( )
3. I've been in contact with Sony's support, accordign to their firmware testers and producttest programs, my device worked as it should.
4. Anyone have any tips on how to get my Sonydevice back to windows without reinstalling windows? It not, i'll just have to reinstall.
5. If all else failes, can anyone lend me a handgun so i can end my misery?

That clearly states the ability to get opticals connected. It is admitted, that there only SATA opticals are mentioned.

Conclusion: According to the documentation, opticals can be connected to the promise controller, at least if they are connected to the SATA-interface.
Own experiments show:
If an optical drive is connected to IDE3, the promise controller detects it correctly. If a bootable media is inserted, it is detected as bootable by the controller BIOS.
An old LD 8240 CD-Writer (only MWDMA2/PIO4 capable) works partly, if attached to IDE3, but there are errors. Playing Audio CDs and DAE generates drop-outs. CD burning results in corrupted data on the media.
If I connect a LG 4163B DVD-Writer, there are no issues concerning CD-playback or DAE. CD-recording was not tried out. The DVD-RAM feature fails, possibly due to driver interference.
This shows, that there at least a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive (PATA) might work on the promise controller, but that also depends on the drive itself.
