Where is Layers Hide Layer and why is it gone?

This is a major part of my work flow and I can't think of ANY good reason to remove it from the menus. I need a fix, and fast.

I can't speak to what's in the menu with CC, since I don't have it, nor do I use the menu functions if I don't have to. I'm guessing they moved it somewhere, but you can always click the eye icon on the layers menu.
Hopefully they've finally added a keyboard shortcut to toggle hide layer on/off. Personally I just made an action - three actions actually. One for show layer, one for hide layer, and one to toggle. Then I made a keyboard shortcut (Wacom shortcut actually) to use the toggle action. I highly recommend it, it'll really speed up your workflow if you're constantly checking layers, and I am.

you might be knowing that generally refrential integrity is concerned with nothing but primary key and foriegn key relationship. Generally we use to check uniqueness of records.
In sap we use it during flexible updation...to check the data records of transaction data and master data.
In other words, to check before loading of data, that whether loading will be properly or not.
we will check(tick) the option in the maintainance of the
<b>infosource--> communication structure</b>

Quicktime and windows-where is my quicktime pro and why is quicktime now m

I downloaded and bought quicktime pro because regular quicktime would not open for some reason. i cannot find quicktime pro anywhere on my computer, i have tried the search, all that. and, why is quicktime now mpeg4 files instead of .mov files? i just spent 50 bucks on a quicktime to avi converter and the software will not recognize mpeg4 as quicktime. please please help me. thak you. jeff

It is part of the regular Quicktime.
You get more options with Pro.

Select a file, right click and select *Open with*, then select iTunes.
Tick *Always use this application* (or whatever is says).

We have no way of knowing what goes on on your machine. All we can tell is that your iPhoto library is missing and iPhoto can't find it. If you can't find then I the only thing you can do is restore from your Back Up.

Where's J2SE v1.5 and why all cute names for it?

Look I came to the sun site not to be entertained by jug humor and confused by renaming things at every page I drilled down through 'simply' to get an "upgrade" from 1.4 to 1.5.
Also I cannot understand why a site that obviously should be familiar with technical terms, uses "updates" when in fact it would appear they are offering "upgrades".
Best I can figure out is I need either their beans thing or the one to the right, but then I'm not planning on going to Mars anytime soon.

Wrong. You mean the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). And I think you meant by users "some user like myself". Seeing that you cannot remember your own login name, that doesn't surprise me much.

Where did my video go and why is it black?

I've noticed a problem and I hope there's a solution for. I recently discovered this morning that my iChat video when I try and view the picture, the screen itself is all black. Also, I updated my software so I know whatever I've got is up to date. How can I get my picture back?

Do you use Perian ?
It is an System Preferences that add in to the codecs that Quicktime can play.

Where are effects stored? And why haven't i got any?

Hi folks.
Well with your help i managed to make my first video and upload it to youtube with only minor hiccups.
Now i have done a simple video iwanted to experiment with transitions. However when i navigate to my effects panel it is completely empty! I have Googled it and it isn't yeilding any results.

What is X11 and Why does GIMP require it

I use GIMP at work on a Windows workstation, and love it. I have just downloaded the mac version but on boot up it prompts me to locate the 'X11'.
What is X11?
where is it located?
and
Why does GIMP need it so badly?

If I recall X11 is an optional install on your installer dvd's. I don't remember if it's a option on the main install or an addition on the second dvd.
When it gets installed the X11 app will be in your /Applications/Utilities folder. There is also additional stuff the app needs in other directories on your boot drive as well.
As for what X11 is, here's a wiki reference. Basically the mac version of gimp needs x11 as it's windowing layer (probably the easiest way to port gimp to the mac).

I have one pdf (with one layer called "ARTWORK") in which I create a layer using Javascript. To do this I create a watermark and asigning it to a OCG contents with this code:

Then I successfully run a preflight profile, which is able to select an object filled with a defined spot colour and put it on the layer named "NEW LAYER"
The result of this is that I have two layers, (ARTWORK and NEW LAYER)
But when I want to view ONLY the contents of the NEW LAYER, it is necessary to show the ARTWORK layer as well, otherwise I see the only the text "watermark" added in the Javascript.
My intention is hide the ARTWORK layer and show only the elements that I moved to the NEW LAYER, running the following Javascript code:

and then run another preflight to remove invisible layers.

This is not really a JS question, more of a Preflight question...

When I copy layers and crop one, it changes every layer. Why?

Can't work this out. I have imported a jpeg and copied it several times. I woud like to crop out a different portion of each and have a stack of layers each showing a part of the original jpeg. When I select one layer and lock the rest the result of cropping the active layer is applied to all copies of the layer! Why? How do I get round this irritating behaviour? Working in Photoshop CS on a Mac.

Yeah, it took me awhile to get my head around it when I first started. As PECourtejoie stated cropping is for the whole document.
For a single layer just use the square selection tool, drag out the area you want in the new layer, then hit ctrl-j it will copy that area into a new layer for you.
If you want the selection to fill the thumbnail, just right click on the thumbnail, at the bottom of the menu you will find clip to layer bounds. Once that is selected the selection will fill the thumbnail.

Why can I not hide iPhone and iPad app purchases made from my iTunes account using the Mac version of iTunes?

I have applications on my iPhone and iPad that I don't want to show up on the family sharing menu (i.e., kid inappropriate stuff). You should be able to hide them, it's just that the 'x' is invisible (I assume that it's a bug with the current version of iTunes) - click on the app's top left corner where the 'x' should be, and it should become hidden.

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?
