Where is listener.log located in windows?

Hi all,
I am starting an 11g listener using the services startup.
But the service will not startup. Where can I check the listener startup log?
I checked it at c:\oracle\product\11.2.0\db_1\NETWORK\log
But there is none there.
Thanks

Thanks....I am already Administrator and member of Ora_DBA
The error message of the service start...is saying " The listener is started and then stopped, this happens if the listener has nothing to do?....how can it say that?
{code}
The above error can happen if there are any incorrect entries in LISTENER.ORA
Check in the LISTENER.ORA whether the hostname/ip and port number is correct. Or please post the contents of ur LISTENER.ORA

  • How can I do automatic backup of Firefox bookmarks? What is the name of the bookmarks file and where is it probably located in Windows?

I want to back up Firefox bookmarks automatically. I know that Firefox has manual bookmark export and bookmark. Can it be automatic? If not I will use backup software to do it, but I need to know the name of the bookmark file and where it is located on my hard drive. .

Firefox stores both bookmarks and browsing history in the file '''places.sqlite''' in the Firefox profile folder . On Windows 7, the Firefox profile folder location is something like:
C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\'''xxxxxxxx.default''' but this location is hidden by default. See [[Profiles]] for help finding the profile folder.
Firefox bookmarks are already backed up automatically.
The bookmark backups are stored as dated .json files in the Firefox profile folder, under the subfolder, '''bookmarkbackups'''. You can restore a bookmark backup file using the information here:

    Gerardo,
All the system logs reside in the following directory:
    usr\sap\<SID>\JC<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server0\log on your server
The peice of content you are accessing is not available for your user id (hence the Access Denied).  Id suggest that you need to assign appropriate privileges in the PCD as by default the portal comes configured only for super_admin level access.
    Hope this helps

  • Listener Log in 11gR2

I have located my listener.log my using lsnrctl stat <listener name>
my particular log is in $ORACLE_HOME/log/diag/tnslsnr/<host name>/<sid>/alert/log.xml
Where is this log file and location actually specified ?
For the same lsnrctl stat command from above, I can see my listener.ora config file. However the above listener log location is not specified in it. In fact LOG_DIRECTORY_<SID> actually points to $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin - however there are absolutely no log files there at all !
The listener.ora does specifiy a listener_ifile.ora, however at 2 bytes in size, this file appears to be empty
Anyone able to make sense of how 11gR2 is now doing this ?
    Jim

    Try in directory:
$ORACLE_HOME/log/diag/tnslsnr/<host name>/<sid>/traceOr try to use SHOW TRC_DIRECTORY to get listener log directory:

  • Is there a temporary file location on Windows 7 for Illustrator CS6?

I was working in Illustrator for a few hours this morning and was just about to save when the Program "quit running".  Is there an temporary file created automatically?  Where might this be located in Windows 7?

    That's bad luck.
Unlike other programmes (e.g. InDesign) Illustrator currently doesn't have that kind of automatic backup / file recovery capability.
It has been requested many times.

  • Is it safe to compress Listener logs while system is running ???

    Hi there,
I am new to RAC and am working on 24*7 databases in a RAC CLuster.
There is a very large listener_scan2.log in the /u01/11.2.0/grid/log/diag/tnslsnr/<server name>/listener_scan2/trace folder, the file is about 2.8 G.
I have done some research and have seen that compress -f has been recommended via crontab, this has the advantage of being something that can be automated and run monthly
    e.g.
    ## listener log aging
    17 0 * * 0 /usr/bin/compress -f /u01/app/grid/diag/tnslsnr/node1/listener/trace/listener.log
    17 0 * * 0 /usr/bin/compress -f /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/log/diag/tnslsnr/node1/listener_scan1/trace/*log
    17 0 * * 0 /usr/bin/compress -f /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/log/diag/tnslsnr/node1/listener_scan2/trace/*log
    17 0 * * 0 /usr/bin/compress -f /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/log/diag/tnslsnr/node1/listener_scan3/trace/*log
Is this safe to run these while the system and listener are up and running, will the listener create a new listener.log file if the old one is compressed even if listener is not restarted.
Other blogs suggest using lsnrctl and changing the listener log location and then renaming/compress/delete the old log file and then set the listener log location back again ...
Has anyone used this in a Production system ?
    I welcome your feedback.
    many thanks,
    Rob

  • I have wifi in my home and it has always worked fine. Then I went to Ireland and used the iPad there.  Since I have been home, it won't work in the house. I took it to another location where I have logged in before and it worked perfectly.  Any ideas?

I have wi-fi in my home and it has always worked fine with my iPad.  Then I went to Ireland and used the iPad there.  Since I have been home, it won't work in my house.  I can't get my wi-fi connecton.  I took it to anothe location where I have logged in in the past, and it worked perfectly.  Any ideas as to why I can't get a connection at home?
    Thank you.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • In Find window: No indication of where a file is located. How do I find

It used to be that in a "Find" window the selected file or folder would generate a display at the bottom of where the item is located in the drive heirarchy. Since Mavericks was installed that is no longer the case.
If I do a find and select an item, how do I now know where it is located?
    TIA

The Finder should still show the path to the files in the pathbar at the bottom of the window, when you select one of the items that have been found. The path will only be shown, when you select one of the items in the list.
Have you the pathbar enabled in the Finder's "View" menu? View > Show Path Bar.

  • Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

Depends on what variant of the product you are using.
In an Oracle Applicaiton Server environment (ie the one you install versus unzip) the stdout/stderr streams from OC4J are captured in the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/<group-instance> directory.
If you are using standalone then stdout goes to the console where you started the process.
The logs for the OC4J instance itself are located in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/log/<instance_group> directory. In this directory you'll see different logs for differet areas of the server. Most of the logs however are captured in the oc4j sub-directory in the log.xml file. Whenever you enable an OC4J component logger in the j2ee-logging.xml file or via ASControl, this is where the logs will end up.
Take a look at the $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/j2ee-logging.xml file -- the log handlers will give you some idea on the different log files that are in use.
You can configure your application loggers to also direct their log into this file if you wish. See http://buttso.blogspot.com/2007/09/directing-log-messages-into-oc4j.html for an example.

  • Xcode 3 - Where's the Log window?

In Xcode 2 NSLog()Used to print text to a log panel. Now it doesn't. Where is the log window? I can't find it and a search of the help files doesn't produce any results. Also I can't find any menu item that would help. Generally I'm very confused by the big changes in the Xcode and Interface Builder GUIs. Most of the programming examples in my books are now FUBAR. Also the bookmarks in my browser to the Cocoa documentation are now invalid. What a bummer.

Well, it's an all-new application, it can be disturbing indeed.
However, your log window still exists, and its name never changed, it's called Console.
So, look into the preferences --> Debugging, look at the "On start" local menu, select "Show console", when you'll build and go your App the console window will appear and display your logs.

I tried the following and it worked on another server.
    C:\> cd \oracle\ora92\network\log
    C:\oracle\ora92\network\log> lsnrctl set log_status off
    C:\oracle\ora92\network\log> rename listener.log listener.old
    C:\oracle\ora92\network\log> lsnrctl set log_status on
But name of my listener is LISTENER_1. So these commands are not working here.
