Where is my audiobook download?

I have just purchased an audiobook for my daughter to listen to on my ipad.  It has downloaded onto my ipad, but it doesn't appear in my itunes library, on my imac or on my iphone even when I search for it.  On my ipad it doesn't appear in ibooks, itunes or in my music library, although I have found it in the search section but I don't know where it is being stored.  My daughter is listening to it, but I have now idea how because it doesn't seem to exist in any libraries!

It should be on the device/computer that you downloaded it on, so if you downloaded it on your iPad then it should be in the Music app on it (iBooks is for reading books, and the iTunes app on iOS devices is just the store) - when you have audiobooks on an iPad you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
Note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store (so they won't appear in the Purchased tab for re-downloading or be on your other devices/computers unless you put them on it), so you may want to copy it from your iPad by connecting it to your computer's iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of it (and sync it to your phone if you want it on it) - it should copy over to the Books part of your iTunes library (Aduiobooks if you OS X Mavericks on your Mac).
