Where is my autofill for Firefox 5.01

I can't locate the autofill program that I installed on Firefox. Where is it? How can I access it? It would be a convenience if it were on my toolbar and it would also be a convenience if I could uninstall the mapquest toolbar since it won't print out the full set of directions but only a single page.

Thanks for your reply but I don't understand.....So the solution is to use any Firefox version below 5.0? This does not seem like the usually innovative Firefox solution! Maybe I am missing something?
PS: Sorry, I did miss the article you referred me to "Using Google Toolbar features without toolbars". I have just printed it - 9 pages that I can peruse at my leisure so I don't yet know if my problem is solved ,...... I do know that one thing I distinctly dislike about Microsoft is their endless supply of material to wade through. I suppose it is inevitable when one thinks about it. I am 73 and no longer have endless time. Thanks anyway.

Everytime I change my laptops or start from scratch, do I have to configure firefox all over again (i.e. fast dial, add ons, appearance)?
I only know how to backup and restore bookmarks. Where are all my configurations stored? Please someone tell me?

The user data is stored in the profile folder. You can copy the data manually by copying the contents of the profile folder, for details see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup or https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+your+information

  • I am trying to transfer the bookmarks etc to a new profile i made because the old profile kept crashing all the help articles atre for older versions where is the support for firefox 4.0

I do not know what else to say except the support is very sketchy and I need help

Support articles for the various versions of Firefox are automatically shown based upon the version of Firefox that is used to view those support pages. If you use a different browser to view the support pages, you might need to select the correct version of an article on the right-side of the page.

We've reached out to the Hotmail team and they've determined that this is a bug in their code. (It was masked by a timing issue in 3.5 that was fixed in 3.6.) We've worked with them to develop a fix but they may not have deployed it yet.

  • I have no folder for firefox in application support... where can I find the stored passwords from my time machine back up!!?

Everywhere I look it says I should have a folder for Firefox in library/applicationsupport/ BUT I don't have one! I'm looking to restore passwords from a time machine back up but there's no Firefox folder so I don't where to look. I even did a fresh install of Firefox on my mac and even then it never created a Firefox folder in library/applicationsupport/... they must be store somewhere in my back up...!?

Hello kamilr, check also in :
    ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder>
The tilde character (~) refers to the current user's Home folder, so ~/Library is the /Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Library folder.
note that in mac 10.7 and above, the ~/Library folder is hidden by default, see : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders#Mac_OS_X
when you find the file seek for '''key3.db''' and '''signons.sqlite''' files.
Your passwords are stored in two different files, both of which are required:
'''key3.db''' - This file stores your key database for your passwords. To transfer your saved passwords, you must copy this file along with the following file.
    '''signons.sqlite''' - Saved passwords
    thank you

where can I get the plug in for firefox so I can view like internet explorer...

There are 2 versions of the add-on, [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10909/ IE Tab Plus] and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/92382/ IE Tab 2]. They both perform the same function of opening Internet Explorer inside a Firefox tab, the main difference between the two is that IE Tab Plus also supports the Adblock Plus add-on being used inside the IE tab and can synchronize cookies.

  • When I had IE9 I had "Print Friendly" button in my browser, I know they make it for Firefox also, but where is it and how do I put the button in my Toolbar?

I went to the website and it said it downloaded, but when I click on the button in my Toolbar, nothing happens. I seen on a search engine that they make "Print Friendly" for Firefox now. Can you tell me where to find it, how to put the button in my Toolbar? I must be doing something or not doing something for it not to be working for me. I am not real computer friendly but I'm not a beginner either. So if you dont mind Please explain to me how to fix this issue in relatively easy step by step instructions. Thank you for your time, Sheybiker

I need an offline install for firefox v26, can you please advise where I can get this?

    Hi haydenr,
It's best to use the latest version of Firefox if you can, but you can download Firefox 26 here:
    http://download.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/26.0/android/
Just choose your locale (British English is en-GB, American English is en-US, etc) and then click the link for the apk file. :)
    Hope that answers your question!

  • Where do you get kaspersky anti banner and kaspersky URL advisor extensions from for firefox v5

Where do you get kaspersky anti banner and kaspersky URL advisor extensions from for firefox v5

You need to contact Kaspersky about their plans for supporting Firefox 4. It is quite common for companies to only support a new version of a browser after it has been officially released, and not support it during the beta/release candidate phase.
You should check for any Kaspersky updates in case they have already added support for Firefox 4

  • I just upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1 and since the "lock" icon never appears when accessing secure websites, where should I look for it?

I just recently upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1 and now the "lock" icon doesn't appear anywhere (I can find) when accessing secure websites. I haven't seen it once. It used to appear in the lower right corner of the screen. I also have Norton Internet Security.

Padlock is no longer part of Firefox; it was removed beginning in Firefox 4. The padlock shows that there is a secure connection but does not supply additional information. You could have made a typographical error and still have been connected to a secure connection. The padlock was replaced in Firefox 3 with the Site Identity Button. Familiarize yourself with the Site Identity Button at the left end of the Location Bar:

You can install this add-on if you wish: *https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/padlock-icon/

  • Where to find desk top icons for firefox, not short cuts, icons

I do not like the blue world desk top icon for Nightly and I would to use the other desk top icon with the fox curled inside the blue world. Please send me the icon, not the short cut. Thanks !

Sounds like a question for a Windows 7 support forum. I don't use Win7, but in WinXP if you right-click a desktop icon and open Properties, there is a button for '''Change Icon'''. As finitarry alluded to, you will need to come up with your own icon file of the correct size. Keep in mind that Nightly updates frequently, actually it updates '''''nightly''''', and you may find that you need to replace that icon every day. ''Speculation on my part, I have never wasted my time replacing a desktop shortcut icon for a program that updated frequently. And if you spent any time searching for how to do that specifically for Firefox, anything you might have found about fiddling Firefox program files or the Firefox Profile folder hasn't worked since the Firefox 3.0 version.''
