Where is my beloved stamp tool from PS CS 3 in PS CS 5?

I want a simple Soft Round Brush with the Pressure of my Wacom stylus adjusting the Opacity (and not the size of the brush), where when I hold down 'control' (Mac OsX 10.6.6) I get the dialogue box where I can adjust Size and Hardness … that's all I need (for the record: I have no use for all the shapes and patterns that are available.)
The problem is, with the brush I choose: Soft Round Pressure Opacity the pressure alters the size of the brush, not the opacity … I can't for the life of me find the setting where I get what I want. Can you help?

Well, on second thought, my problem seems to be not that I need to find my brush - I think I have found it, it is called "Soft Round Pressure Opacity", but the icon for it displays a different brush, namely the "Soft Round Pressure Size"- and when I select "Soft Round Pressure Opacity", it behaves like "Soft Round Pressure Size". So either it's the wrong brush and the right name, or the wrong name and the right brush, but it appears there is no match.

  • Removing "Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool" from toolbar

Somehow the "Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool" button appeared on my Comment & Markup toolbar, and I can't remove it.  Also, when I go to Tool > Comment & Markup > Stamps > the "Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool" option is always dim, as if it's already selected, but the other options such as "Dynamic" and "Sign Here" are bold, allowing you to select them by clicking on them.  I'm not trying to make the "Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool" bold so I can select it, I'm just saying this to help someone figure out why I can't remove the "Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool" button from my Comment & Markup toolbar.  Thank you.

Likely that you activated the clipboard by copying something like an image from Photoshop or Illustrator and did this while Acrobat was open.  If nothing is in your clipboard the option will be dimmed, otherwise it will be colorful and allow you to paste into the PDF.

  • Where can I find a tool to assemble PDFs from seperate files programatically?

    Good morning all,
I have an interesting question for you all.
We use a large number of PDF forms in our business. As our business has increased over the years, these forms have become very involved and fairly complicated to the point where we have dozens of potential variations.
Up until now, we have just created four or five basic configurations and then our HD has been removing uneeded portions for final use. This has gott3en to the point where it is too complicated to go on this way so we are looking for a better solution.
Our forms break out into four basic sections:
Legal section (different for each form)
    Basic agreement (three variations)
    Schedules (several varations)
End customer agreement (one version for all)
Here is the question...Is there a third party app out there that aloow us to create a web page or Sharepoint site where our users could select one from Column A, one from column B, three from column C and one from column D and assemble them into a single PDF?
I realize that we can technically do that with Acrobat but we don't want to buy licenses for the who team and we would like some kind of enterprise type tool.
One other consideration, in order for our customers to be able to fill out these forms and save their changes locally, we do add form fields to the docs and save them with Adobe extended features. If we save the various pieces with the extended features active, can we then assemple the pieces into a whole and still retain that feature?
The goal will be to generate a PDF with the extended features actuve that our user can then save and email to our customer, ready to use
Last item, is it possible in the above scenario to create our piece-part PDFs with a place holder that could be used to insert a logo into as part of the above described process?
I know, three questions in one post...I will take any answers to any portion that I can get.
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards to all,
    Steve

The enabling part will have to be done with LiveCycle Reader Extensions, which is also available from Datalogics as the PDF Java Toolkit with Reader Extensions.
If you can get all of your users to move to Reader 11 and don't use digital signatures, consider:
    1. Appligent's AppendPDF Pro, perhaps along with FDFMerge.
    2. Debenu's Quick PDF Library
    3. iText

  • In Photoshop 2014 how do you use the clone stamp tool and keep the image panel from moving

I don't quite know how to use the clone stamp tool in the Photoshop 2014 version.  When I click on the clone stamp it creates a duplicate of the image and it moves around and I can not apply the clone stamp to the area I want to correct.  How do you lock it down to keep it from moving?

    Hi Smoothery4501,
The Photoshop clone stamp tool allows you to copy one area of an image and copy it onto another area.
Click on the clone stamp tool then press the alt key on the keyboard and click on the image to define a source point.

    Hi,
Make sure you are in Expert mode (click on Expert at the top).
The Clone stamp tool appears in the Enhance group - make sure the tool option is set correctly.
Hope that is the one you want.

  • PSE6 crashes when using Clone Stamp tool

Hi! I'm new to PSE and have a standard install of 6.0 - no addons. I've been using the editor for just a couple of days now, but I have experience with other graphic editors.
I've just started using the Clone Stamp tool. I've cut out a background from a photo, put it into a new file using New>From Clipboard, and am using the Clone Stamp tool to paint background over the edges of the cut.
So, start Photoshop in edit mode, open picture (.psd created above), select clone stamp tool, right-click and select 100 pixel brush from default palette, place brush some way away from the edge and Alt-click to set "From" point, then move the brush next to edge, click, and start painting over the edge. All OK. Now, move the brush to the right-edge of the picture and start painting so the edge of the brush goes outside the picture a little. This is where it crashes for me. It may be that it's actually the from area that is outside the picture that causes the problem.
Does anyone else get this problem?
Now I'm going back to try again taking great care along the right-hand edge to try and stop it crashing!
    Alan

    Hi Alan,
is it still crashing for you? I tried the same steps and works fine for me. Are you working on Windows/Mac?

  • Problem with Clone Stamp Tool Transparency

Hi there, I am working in CS5 and lately when I have been drawing with the Clone stamp tool, the cloned content seems to be transparent instead of being a 100% opaque clone of the source. The tool is in normal mode but the result looks almost identical multiply mode. I am coming from CS3 and I have not run into this problem in the past. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

…and the align sample to current layer is checked on.
This implies that you need to understand what the settings actually do. You have a choice "current layer", "current and below" or "all layers". These have nothing to with Align, they are all about which layers are sampled.
"Aligned" is about where multiple clicks of the Clone Stamp sample from. How they relate to the source area that you sampled.
Opportunity to air a major complaint of mine - "Aligned" automatically keeps checking itself. Because some Grandpa (photoshop 6 or 7 can't remember) decided that Option double click should be a 'shortcut' to keep Aligned checked all the time. Because they always work with Aligned on I guess, they think everyone should. Unfortunately it means that if you are a fast and experienced user, you have to waste a fair amount of time each day locating a tiny checkbox, to turn the damn thing off again. And again. And again.

  • Clone stamp tool issue on CS5

Working on pshop CS5 for the last days (transitioning from cs2) i noticed that the stamp tool in c5 is updated by having a "preview" capability inside its brush. Also noticed that this feature is making the stamp tool a little slower, or maybe more memory absorbent and looks to be slower and less smooth when working. Is there a way to shut the preview down and make it act like in cs2 where there is no preview in the stamp tool brush?

Thank you very much Chris for the right and fast reply

  • Clone stamp tool - can't turn 'aligned sample' option off

HI, I am experiencing a problem with the clone stamp tool and healing brush tool where I uncheck the 'aligned sample' optiom, 'alt' click where I want the sampling to come from, then brush over the area I want to be affected.  I have noticed that the results are the same as when the 'algned sample' option is on; the sampling is clearly following the brush just as when 'aligned sample' is checked.  I have reset the tool with no effect.  Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks

Just to clarify, the Aligned option will cause multiple brush strokes to copy from the sampled area as though you had duplicated the sampled layer, hidden it with a mask, and now revealing it. With Aligned off, each brush stroke returns to the sampled area. For example, if you have cloned from a layer with the image of a face, sampling in one of the eyes, multiple brush strokes with Aligned on will result in the face filling in stroke by stroke. With Aligned off, a new eye will be cloned with each brush stroke. And by brush stroke I mean clicking and releasing mouse button.
If this is the behavior you are expecting by not getting and resetting the tool did not fix things, then it is time to reset the application preferences:

  • Clone stamp tool blurs frame edge

I'm a newbie on After Effects, so please bear with me.
I'm trying to remove an electric wire that extends through frame, bisecting the bottom of frame and right edge.  I'm using the clone stamp tool with "0" hardness and a 150pt brush, and the results are perfect.  However, I have a problem I can't resolve.  Because the wire extends "off frame", I start below frame with my brush and drag across the frame and off the right edge.  The bottom is clean - but the right edge is "blurred" and no longer a straight edge.
Upon updating to Premiere Pro, the new comp shares that crooked edge.
How can I fully remove the wire and keep my nice straight frame edge?
    Thank you.

After Effects CC updated.  Here are screen shots.  The shot is a body falling through frame.  The camera pans, and in doing so reveals the wire.  I had to "paint" the wire out frame by frame.  This is the last frame (the body already gone).  If you look on the right frame edge, above the midpoint, you can see where the frame "bulges" and "blurs".  When the shot plays, as the cloned footage "travels" through frame, the "bulge" moves from bottom up along the edge.  It's very noticeable.  Oddly, there isn't the same issue with the bottom of frame - although I dragged with the clone stamp tool through that edge as well:

  • Photoshop CS4 Clone Stamp Tool behavior

I installed CS4 on a Dual Pentium Xeon 2.4ghz Compaq W8000 system with 3GB of RD 800mhz RAM and Windows XP Pro w/SP3 and all updates. The video card is a ATI Radion AGP-3855 w/512 GDDR3 RAM with latest drivers.
When using the clone stamp tool, after making a sourse selection there is a "trail" that follows the cursor to the destination (similar to using a mouse trail so you can tell where the cursor is on a notebook computer)
When the cursor slows down at the stamp destination the "trail" catches up and covers the destination with the sourse "patch" not allowing precise targeting. It is so cumbersome to use as to make the clone stamp tool almost unusable. The density of the "patch" is not affected by opacity settings.
Is this a new behaviour for this tool in CS4? And if so can it be turned off? Do I have a problem unique to my system?
    Murray

    Hi Anthony,
Good point and thanks for suggesting the clone source features. I can see that it has tremendous potential and will revisit it to see if it will benifit my work. My immediate problem was that overlay was on as a default and it was not obvious to me where to address it.
I have not used this forum before as I have a couple of gurus I lean on, but was really impressed by the immediate help I recieved here.
I am a wildlife-mammal-stock shooter and I have been using Quick Mask, with a feathered brush to make small to medium selections on a, sometimes, flipped version of the image I am working on, or from another one. Moving the selection to a separate transparent (background) layer and then bringing it into my image as a separate layer and aligning it by setting the opacity at 50% and then using rotation, opacity and layer masking to finish the work.I then use the clone stamp at a low (20-50%) opacity to do additional "painting" and to blend the QM object. This approach is cumbersome, but highly effective, however I may be able to use "your" clone source options for simpler or different tasks.
    Thanks,
    Murray

  • Photoshop Elements 8. "Could not use Clone Stamp Tool because of a program error."  Please help.

Photoshop Elements 8.  "Could not use Clone Stamp Tool because of a program error."  Please help.

    Try this:
    Open your picture file
    Access the clone stamp tool
Hold down the ALT key on the keyboard and left click on the area from which you wish to clone, then release the ALT key, and click to place the pixels at the destination
    TIPS:
It is a good idea to open a blank layer at the top in the layers palette, and do the cloning on this layer. Be sure that "sample all layers" at the top is checked. You can change the layer opacity if necessary
Use the bracket keys next to the letter p on the keyboard to increase & decrease the size of the cursor
Let us know  how you make out with the error message now.

  • Are there any tools from NI can generate the pass-through layer (IVI class driver) for IVI class specific driver?

IVI class driver (layer) will provide interchangeable feature for a IVI class specific driver. It would work as a pass-through layer and finally make calls to the IVI class specific driver. Since there could be a lot of functions to be passed through. Are there any tools from NI (Labwindows/CVI or Labview) can do this ?
    Thanks a lot.
BTW: the IVI class specific driver interface is generated from Labwindows/CVI tools.

    Hi Chris,
Yes, I did.  To support interchangability, from my understanding of the IVI specs, there should be another layer IVI-C class driver on top of this IVI class specific driver. As in the IVI‑3.1: Driver Architecture Specification:
Although IVI‑C class drivers export inherent,
base, and extension capabilities, they do not actually implement them. Except
for a few inherent functions and attributes defined exclusively for class
drivers, class driver functions and attributes provide a pass‑through layer to
the IVI‑C specific driver. An IVI‑C specific driver is responsible for
implementing the operations of functions and attributes and for communicating
with the instrument. The IVI‑C specific instrument driver contains the
information for controlling the instrument, including the command strings,
parsing code, and valid ranges of each instrument setting"
So where is this IVI-C class driver and how is it created and communicate with my class specific driver?
    Thanks a lot.
    Cheers,

  • "Could not use the clone stamp tool because of a program error". How to fix this fault?

When I try to use the Clone Stamp Tool I am met with the message shown above. I have tried in all the ways I could find to beat this: different photos, switched the computer off and on again, run a de-bugging program through it (Advanced System Care 5 Pro) and Microsoft's own stuff. The problem exists solidly and, without one of its most important picture repair tools Photoshop is pretty much useless.
I have just set this new Photoshop Elements 10 program up on my Windows 7 (64) laptop. I have plenty of memory and a large enough hard drive; the machine is fairly new, stable and does not usually suffer from programming problems. I have found nothing on any of the Adobe Forums, or in other sites, to give me a hint as to what has caused the problem other than a bad program disk. My first conclusion was that I should reinstall the program, but it appears that I will then lose one of my two registration rights, that strikes me as being ridiculous as reinstallation is surely the most logical thing to do with a potentially faulty program disk! But I would have to uninstall to reinstall, and that's when the the second registration cuts in I am advised. I have tried every way I can think of to beat this to no avail. I'll be truly grateful if someone can help me out on this. Thank you!

Thanks guys! I'm afraid that I'm still not sure: I've been told that uninstalling - after of course deactivating - amounts to a life gone... Yet according to the set of licence rules Adobe has, you're allowed to copy programs in a mirror image which, of course, would be used for a clean wipe - and surely that contradicts their set of rules? The rules seem to imply that that would be okay: no life lost. My concern is that through no fault of my own I have what appears to be a duff program; it's out of warranty now (my fault - I didn't install it until I could buy a more heavy-duty laptop). If the rule is "two-strikes-and-your-out, then I lose my last reactivation after THIS installation. I will get in touch with Adobe - but I live in the UK, and therein lies the problem: the equivalent of $39 dollars for the chat and whatever else it might cost is off-putting to me I'm afraid. If I could find out whether or not Adobe has a patch or something I would be a lot more happy about it all - the reinstallation after all may NOT cure the problem and I'd be stuck with a bunch of coffee cup coasters! Hey, ho...

  • Photoshop CS5 Clone Stamp Tool option-click just stopped working, why?

I've been using clone stamp tool option-click (healing brush  option-click also) on Photoshop CS5 on my Mac 10.6.5 and it stopped  working suddenly on Monday.  Had just used it on Sunday.  So, I've tried  to isolate the problem.
    1. Went to Apple store and my keyboard and  mouse work fine on their inhouse systems running Photosochop CS5.   Problem still exists on home system.
    2. Adobe photoshop suggested I go back to Mac 10.6.3.  I did and problem still exits.
    3. Reset all presets in CS5.  Problem still exists.
    4.  Spent several hours with Adobe Photoshop tech on phone -- he couldn't  make it work remotely either using his keyboard.  Reloaded Photoshop  from scratch.  Problem still exists.
    Question:
Could this be a hardware problem?  Graphic board problem?
Or is this a software problem aside from Mac OS and CS5?

    Hi Joan
It sounds like you are not having fun at all : )
    >I talked with a for fee Mac guru today who says I need to wipe slate clean and install operating system from scratch since I did not use time machine.
.....you ever notice how easy it is for a consultant to tell you what to do when they don't have to do it?
..... I wonder why the guru thought your system was gone if your new user account was working?
If your new user account is working.... why not use it?  The system seems fine but something went screwy with the settings in your original account.
hopefully someone else will chime in here with more insight before you start from scratch.
