Where is my device in windows 8

I cannot find my device in Windows 8 to be able to sync with my computer.  Anyone??

Yes iTunes is installed. I even uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. This did not start until I upgraded the OS. What do you think?  Thanks!

Where has my airport utility window gone? When I double click on the airport utility icon all I get is a picture of a globe and a base station with no further  options available to modify my airport extreme.

Sorry, you lost me on that last post.
    Let's start over again.
Open AirPort Utility on your Mac
Are you asked for a password at this point?  If yes, enter the base station or device password that you used when you originally set up the AirPort router. Depending when you did this originally, you might have been given an option to use the same password as the wireless network. If you were not, then you have a separate password for the base station.
You need that password to be able to access the settings for the AirPort router in AirPort Utility.
If you see a window listing basic information, click Edit in the upper right corner of the window.
If you are asked for a password, you must enter the device password or base station password that you established when you first set up the AirPort router as explained above.
If you forgot the password, a Soft Reset will allow you to go in and reset the base station password.  Might be a good idea to write down that password.
If you are still stuck, then the only option that you have at this point is to perform a Hard Reset to return the settings to factory defaults and then set up the AirPort router again.
If you prefer, you can also do a Factory Default Reset. It's the same as a Hard Reset except for the timing of holding in the reset button.

  • HT1947 where is the devices list on itunes?

where is the devices list on itunes?

How did you (Sir WLC, first reply) get that list to appear?
I have used iTunes to download a bunch of podcasts.  They show up in the "iTunes Media Library" folder.  I cannot figure out how to persuade iTunes to move the things to the shuffle.
I have a gen3 shuffle and iTunes 11.0.1.12 running on WinXP.  If i run help/diagnostics, (connectivity and sync only), all "connectivity" tests pass but the device sync test says "no iPod touch, iphone or ipad found" and "one or more tests failed".  So is the "gen3 ipod shuffle" not SUPPOSED to pass (it is not a ~touch, phone, or pad)?
The shuffle (and one book file i dragged directly onto it) is visible to the Windows "file explorer", and that one book will play on the shuffle.  Nonetheless, when it is plugged in to the USB port, the orange light continues to blink; it does not turn green, as the PDF for the thing suggests it will do when fully charged.  Is blinking orange the expected behavior for a fully charged device?
    Thanks.

  • Audigy 4 drivers do not find the device on Windows 2

I am running Windows 2000 SP4 with DirectX 9.0c. I am trying to install an Audigy 4 as an upgrade to my onboard sound. So far I cannot get the drivers to find the card. I always get "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" in Device Manager, no matter how I try to install the drivers.
I started by uninstalling my onboard sound drivers, shutting off the PC, installing the card, booting into the BIOS to disable the onboard sound device, then booting into Windows to install the drivers.
I've tried installing the drivers from the CD, downloading the web update from Creative's site, uninstalling all the drivers in safe mode, then re-installing, aloowing the web update to uninstall the cd drivers, etc etc.
When I try to re-install the drivers from the device manager, and tell the wizard to seach for a specific location, windows is looking for the file "$winnt$.inf", which does not exist in the temp directory where the driver extracts, and in fact there are only ini files, no inf files.
How do you get the driver to see the device on Windows 2000?

I forgot to say that i have also changed the PCI slot I installed the card in. Still no luck.

  • Where can I download a Windows 7 64bit driver for the hp CDDVDW TS-L633N on my cpq60-615DX

    EDIT --
I neglected to say that I tried updating the driver from the Device Manager device window and the result was a message saying it could not find a newer driver, that the one installed was correct.
    Another EDIT
I also did not say that I  have uninstalled the device, through Device Manager. Upon restarting the system, the drive was found and software installed but the problem remains.
    Original message follows:

When I didn't see on the list of devices on Windows Explorer, I went to Device Manager and found that it was flagged with the "problem" icon (exclamation  point on a yellow background).
The General Tab Device Status box contains"

It appears that the Creator install installed part of the driver but not one that functions. It might be a problem with Windows 7 or the fact that this install is 64 bits.
I have searched the HP site and can't find a driver for the device. When I look at the list of drivers available for this system, the optical drive is not shown.
I downloaded and installed the HP driver search program - or whatever it is called - and ran it. There were no devices listed on "Optical Drive" tab when I looked at the results - it could not "see" the drive.
I realize that what I need is probably a generic driver from MS, that's why one is not shown on the HP site, but how do I go about finding the right one for this device?
Is there a generic "one size fits all" driver for Windows 7 which can drive this device?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I want a legal official download from official Microsoft/Windows/Apple/Bootcamps legal websites please. No cracked versions or free anything I can purchase it. But I have a macbook pro without a DVD slot so I need a download please. Can anyone give me a link to where I can download a Windows 8.1 official full version to purchase on Microsoft. Microsoft store will provide a download manager (.exe) using your Product Key, which needs to be run on a PC. This manager will then let you download an ISO image to a USB and/or DVD.

  • I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.
    http://refit.sourceforge.net/
This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.

  • Hi, where is the new event window in ical??

Hi, what I'm trying to do is to repeat an event every week for the rest of the year in ical, so I read one post which had a picture of the new event window pop up. Where is that new event window??? It doesn't pop up for me.
    Here's what I do:
    1. I click on File, then New Event.
    2. A highlighted portion where I can write in text shows up, but then I don't know where the option to make the reminder a repeated reminder comes up.
    I have Mac OS X Version 10.5.8, I believe.
Or...how do I jiust repeat an event without going to this?? I'd just like to repeant an event.
    Any help??
    Thanks in advance,
    Bonnie

All right, never mind, I found it myself!!! You gotta double-click (press twice on mouse area) on the highlighted portion of the text that shows up on a date.
    Thanks for reading this!!!

  • Figuring out how to access a device using Windows.Devices.HumanInterfaceDevice?

Before I start, I would like to share this link I used to access windows RT libraries from Desktop applications (only the ones stated in MSDN documentation that are accessible from desktop applications):
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cdndevs/archive/2013/10/02/using-windows-8-winrt-apis-in-net-desktop-applications.aspx .
After following the above instructions you can import some of the windows RT libraries in references. I have been trying to use the Windows.Devices.HumanInterfaceDevice library. I think my UsagePage and UsageId are off though. I am wondering
if someone good in hex can translate them from my report descriptor. I already have the VID and PID (this should be enough along with the path if I called write file or some of the other win32/OS api's). Here's the code I am using in VB.NET:
    Public Class VirtualMouseDeviceOpen
    Class Enumeration
    ' Enumerate HID devices
Public Async Function EnumerateHidDevices() As Task
    Dim vendorId As UInt32 = &HBEEF
    Dim productId As UInt32 = &HFEED
    Dim usagePage As UInt32 = &HFF
    Dim usageId As UInt32 = &H1
' Create a selector that gets a HID device using VID/PID and a
    ' VendorDefined usage
Dim selector As String = HidDevice.GetDeviceSelector(usagePage, usageId, vendorId, productId)
' Enumerate devices using the selector
    Dim devices As Windows.Foundation.IAsyncOperation(Of Windows.Devices.Enumeration.DeviceInformationCollection) = DeviceInformation.FindAllAsync(selector)
Dim count As Integer = devices.GetResults.Count
    If count > 0 Then
' Open the target HID device
' At this point the device is available to communicate with
' So we can send/receive HID reports from it or
' query it for control descriptions
    Dim device As HidDevice = HidDevice.FromIdAsync(devices.GetResults.ElementAt(0).Id, FileAccessMode.ReadWrite)
    Await Vendor.ReadWriteToHidDevice(device)
    Else
' There were no HID devices that met the selector criteria
MsgBox("MUTT HID device not found!", MsgBoxStyle.Exclamation)
    End If
    End Function
    Class Vendor
Public Shared Async Function ReadWriteToHidDevice(device As HidDevice) As Task
    If device IsNot Nothing Then
' construct a HID output report to send to the device
Dim outReport As HidOutputReport = device.CreateOutputReport()
' Initialize the data buffer and fill it in
    Dim buffer As Byte() = New Byte() {10, 20, 30, 40}

My UsageId is the first Usage Hex value in the report descriptor I believe (I am still a little confused too). My UsagePage is the hex values in the first Usage_Page in the report descriptor.
Note: the problem with the VB.NET code is that it returns 0 on the count above which means it did not find a device using my criteria.

Note: the problem with the VB.NET code is that it returns 0 on the count above which means it did not find a device using my criteria.

I forgot anyone wanting a picture of what the device hierarchy looks like in control panel here it is (HID compliant vendor device is the first one in the report descriptor above I want to access and then the mouse device):

I have set up iTunes Match on only 3 devices (my Windows 7 desktop and 2 iPhones) and am now trying to authorise my new Windows 8 (Toshiba) laptop but I keep failing to authorise the laptop using my one-and-only Apple ID. Does anyone have advice to solve this problem?!

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

  • FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1

FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1 x64 on an MSI GT72-2QD laptop. I tried 2 different webcams but the result was the same. Both the internal mic and the ones going with the webcams work fine with other software but when I try FMLE it looks as follows:
It says that there's no audio device connected (although the mics work fine elsewhere), the dropout is blank and the audio parameters are grayed out and inactive even with the "audio" box checked. Both versions of FMLE work fine with the same cams on a desktop which has all the same tech specs but uses Win 7 x64. Running FMLE in Win7 compatibility mode or reinstalling with register cleaning doesn't help. What can be done about it?

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for the advice. It succeeded.
The steps I made was to make a disk copy of my original Windows XP disk using Disk Utilty. Then I renamed the disk copy into .iso. I copied the ISO file to my usb flash drive.
Than I started Parallels 7, created a new VM, selected the correct drive to install from (the usb flash drive) and volia, it worked.
    Finally...

  • ITunes gets unresponsive when I click on Podcast tab in the device management window.

    Hello,
I run the iTunes 11.1 on MacOX 10.8.5.
iTunes gets unresponsive each time I click on Podcast tab in the device management window. (when my iPhone5 is connected, running iOS7)
There was no bug before I upgrade iTunes and iOS.
    Is this a know bug?
    What Can I do?
Will this be fixed in a next update?
There is another bug, which may be related to the first one:
before, in the podcast tab of my iphone management window, I chose to sync a smart playlist. Before the upgrade, the sync worked fine.
But now, the sync seems OK on iTunes (the playlist is well displaied in my iPhone section), but I need to shutdown/restart my iPhone to get it updated on it. Othewise, I still see its content as it was before the sync.
Please notice that this playlist contains only podcasts.
Thanks a lot for any help.

  • TS1538 In iTunes 11 I can't find a device list nor my ipod to the left of music library screen, where is the device list situated?

After installing update to iTunes 11, I can not find the devices list nor my ipod on the left side of the music library screen.  I also can't find the devices button.  Devices is an option under 'File' but it only allows 'transfer purchases to ipod'.  Where is the device list located in iTunes 11?

I`m having exactly the same problem!! Updated Friday to the new Itunes 11, which i have to say looks cool but isn`t overly user friendly, and my Iphone 5 is not being recognised. Ran diagnostic tests and i`m getting a red dot next to iphone, ipod etc stating not connected even though it was! I`ve spent all weekend trying to fix the problem and have gone through clearing the temp folder and the device manager, uninstalling and reinstalling itunes but nothing!
