Where is my downloaded rented movie?

First I downloaded a movie onto my iPhone5 and thought that I could later watch it on my MacBook Air, but I couldn't find it there so I had to watch it on my iPhone5.  Then I rented another movie and this time I used my Macbook Air to do it. It successfully downloaded the movie but then I couldn't find it anywhere. Please help.

iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1657
Can I play my rental on more than one device?
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV).
Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Where do i download a rented movie from iTunes to so i can watch it offline on my macbook pro?

When you rent a film in the iTunes store on your Mac's iTunes then it should automatically download, and it should go into the Movies part of your library - when you have rentals you should get a Rentals tab in Movies

If you can't find the movie you downloaded on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, check inside your Videos App

  • I cannot download rented movie

I rented a movie, and took me more than45 minutes and I still couldn't download the stupid movie.  It tells me to go to settings download but there is no such category even after I have updated the iOS!  So after the update, I don't even see the option where I can download the movie anymore, on he he movie page or the videos section!  I was able to rent the same movie on the same account at a different device, so does that mean I will get charged twice?

    Hey 321Tammy,
Thanks for the question, I can definitely understand how frustrating this situation can be. What is the error message you receive when you attempt to download the movie? You can check the following resource for possible errors and solutions:
    iTunes: Possible iTunes Store errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1424
Additionally, you can report a problem with your purchase:

    Hey GingCarv,
Great question. You'll want to download the movies from your purchase history. The following article explains how to do so:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Note: At this time, movies are not available for automatic downloads.

  • Download Error (480) when trying to download rented movie

    Hello all.
    Managed to install the update.
Everything seems to be working fine.
Then decided to rent a movie, accepted the payment etc. but when I try to download I keep getting "Download Error (480)" and a notification to go to "Check Downloads" and try again. Have tried a number of times and keep getting the same result "ERROR" !
Is anybody elso suffering this problem ?
Could it be related to the store being very busy because ALL of you are trying to rent and download movies right now ???
    Any feedback is welcome.
    CIao

OK, so further to my earlier post.
After a number of times being in touch with customer support (email) I have still not resolved this download error problem.
One thing I have determined, the problem is definitely related to HD movies only. I am not having any problems downloading rented movies that are NOT HD.
Does anybody have the same problems with HD movies "Download error (480)" ???

Thanks for the pointers folks. Yeah, 1.5GB is pretty poor isn't it? There are other suppliers, but you have to get a their phone line installed to access the internet so it's an £85 setup fee plus a day off work for a guy to come round and drill a hole in your wall before you even get to the monthly costs.
Don't get me wrong though - I'm certainly not an Apple basher, but am equally frustrated with both them and the ISP.
Virgin Media spend all kinds of money advertising their broadband as the fastest in the UK, but don't tell you (up front anyway) that you'll be cut off if you actually try and use it.
Apple on the other hand carry on with their 'it just works' mantra, but with Apple TV this only applies if you meet certain criteria (again, not mentioned up front).
I guess it aint a biggie, as i was gifted my Apple TV, and love all the other stuff it does, but from the number of posts on this forum can see that there's a lot of angry customers out there who want explanations as to why they're having similar problems to me.
Will be very interesting to see if Apple release any kind of software update that turns the flash drive from a buffer to permanent storage, to at least ease some of the pain...

  • I'm going on vacation and would like to have some movies rented for the flight. I won't have wifi so can i download rented movies?

I'm going on vacation and would like to have some movies rented for the flight. I won't have wifi so can i download rented movies?

Prior to going you can rent and download them on your iPad via its iTunes store app, or rent and download them on your computer's iTunes and connect and your iPad and move them to it - they will go in the iPad's Videos app.
Some people have posted that they need to start playing rentals whilst they still have internet connection, so you may want to watch a few seconds prior to going offline - you have 24 hours if you are in the US, 48 hours elsewhere, after starting to watch a rental before it expires.

  • Where can I download I movie for osx 10.9.5

where can I download I movie for osx 10.9.5

If you go to the App Store it should offer you the latest iMovie version that is compatible with your operating system.   For Mavericks (10.9.5) this is 10.0.5.
If you have iMovie 9 or an earlier version of 10 you should be able to download it free.  Otherwise you will have to pay.
