Hello jmacguire,
I read your hint above a few weeks ago and then bought a used Audigy 4 Pro card with the intention to use it under Windows 7 x64 (because of missing features in the X-Fi software regarding EAX; compare my thread over there).
Your hint (copying the three files in the EAXCon setup directory) together with Daniel K.'s newest v3.8 Audigy Support Pack worked and I could successfully install EAX Console on Windows 7 x64. I used the same trick to install things like Surround Mixer from the original CD, too.
The driver itself works. The problem is, as soon as I start the installed Creative applications, they either immediately quit with "no supported hardware found" or show up with a GUI, where nearly everything is deactivated; cf. the following screenshot. Only the speaker settings seem to work correctly/as in XP:
How can I get back the functionality like editing EAX profiles, CMSS selection, ... in W7x64. Considering even Creative published a new Audigy series driver on 9th April 2010, which explicitly supports Windows 7 x64, there must be a way to get the software for this card running again, must it not?
Please help me, if you can. Thank you,
orthoceros.

    'sHi,
Are you using this driver? Are you getting no sound from your microphone or is nothing being recorded?
Please go to Control Panel, Sound make sure that the Microphone option is set as default and that the mic levels are adjusted accordingly, not mute.

  • EAX Console for Audigy LS

Hey all, first post here, hope you can help.
I was recently given an Audigy LS soundcard by a friend as a gift, but without an install cd..so basically I have the soundcard and it's original box, but that's it.
I'd like to enable a few things such as CMSS, and to change a few EAX options as i've having some issues with audio in games...
My question is, bar buying a new cd from creative, is there any other way to get the EAX console? If I do have to buy it I will, but i'm just checking first, thanks

I typed : "audigy LS iso" under emule and found isos for the LS
    go for it.
i don't know about the applications compatibility but some of them might be unlocked to be used with (about) every creative cards.

  • I have Audigy 2 with windows 7 64bit help

HI I am confused on what to use for packages ,should I use daniel's package or Pax latest? If I use Pax latest can I use a equalizer with it'sThks

    Hi,
I would install Daniel K's one first, since according my own experience it works the best, especially when you are also going to play a lot of games on the computer (this driver does support EAX HD). I guess Daniel K's driverpack is more like an all-rounder driverpack for users with an Audigy soundcard, and want more features and applications such as surround mixer, EQ synthesizers, EAX console etc., rather than using the generic Creative Labs' driver with the Audio console only. But Daniel K's driverpack is kind of annoying? to uninstall or reinstall, since when you want to reinstall the driverpack for one of another reason, you have to uninstall the applications first one by one. Daniel K has chosen to make separate installers for every applications (EAX console, surround mixer, EQ etc.). All in all Daniel K's driver pack is pretty good, despite some flaws besides the one I just said, it didn't fix the >4 GB memory issues for x64 OSes for example (well, Daniel K can't since when he did he would be sued for touching the "internals" of the CL drivers. Anyway, it's recommended to install the latest 3.8 Audigy driverpack for best performance and stability.
As for the new PAX driverpack, I haven't use it myself, although I had used the older ones which were (when they are still called Youp-pax drivers) written by other people in order to mod my Audigy 2 into Audigy 4 and it worked pretty good. Well, according Daniel K you shouldn't install the new PAX drivers because you would only get placebo-effects that it works/sounds better. But I don't know it myself, since I haven't used the PAX drivers. Perhaps some other members have more experience with it.
I am currently using the latest beta kX-driver for my Audigy 2 and am still learning how the kX-driver really works; it feels like I am using a new soundcard, since everything is different because the kX-driver, and it really make your soundcard sounds a lot better. The kX-drivers are not written by Creative Labs, but by several people from the homebrew scene and these drivers are open-sourced. The creators do explain e.g. why the kX-driver will make your soundcard sounds better. They know and understand the internal of the emu0kx chipsets and are writing the driver from scratch.
The latest kX-driver has no issues with PC systems with more than 4 GB system memory in Windows Vista and 7 x64 (yes, you hear it correctly, the 4 GB limit is fixable, it's more like whether someone wanted to fix it or not) and it's also alot smaller too (I experience a faster boot time of my Windows 7 x64 myself!), but it's a bit tricky to use it, since, as I have already said, everything work differently with this kX-driver. And for people who work a lot with music and do a lot of recordings, the kX-driver is the driver for your Soundblaster Li've, Audigy , 2 (ZS) and/or 4 (only genuine emu0kx chipsets are supported; no support for X-fi though. Although the kX-drivers are not meant for gaming, I can play games on my PC with the kX-driver installed without serious issues, but you will lost? the Alchemy support for EAX enabled games. So, people, if you have 4 GB memory or more onboard and are having issues, then try out the kX-driver with the > 4 GB fix.

  • Issues with mixer etc for Audigy SE in Windows 7 64bit

My system is currently Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and I have just installed the SB Audigy SE PCI card.
I have uninstalled the onboard sound software and disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS.
I have disabled all audio devices showing in the sound/playback devices.
I am hearing audio fine on the system but there are issues I would like to try and resolve. When I attempt to launch the applet to control the mixer, select speaker config etc I receive an error stating that the hardware that the application supports is not found.
I have downloaded the latest software and run the auto update to be sure that this is the case. I have attempted to run the applets from the installed folders to see if that would help. I have set admin privledges for the applets and even attempted to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3. None of this hel
    ps.
I have searched the forums and found several threads that list the error, but the posts I found were either not for this card/windows version or not answered. All of the threads found were at least several months old. I am familiar with working in the BIOS, working in the registry and with hardware troubleshooting.
I would like to get these working as the sounds are not quite to my liking with the current config. I do not do any audio editing, but I use my system extensi'vely for audio playback and for gaming.
    Thank you in advance.

    here, it's the application which i boxed in green;
    http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/2382/unledign.jpg?
please note the requirements which tells that application(BasicAudio Suite) doesnt supports win7 either 32/64bit.
trust me, i tried that with my XP SP3 and it game me troubles either. by reverting my XP SP2 made it work cuz it tells supports only XP SP2.
we need that application so that we can tweak more with the audio like; equalizer, diffrent soundfields etc... yeah, there was a big difference when we can tweak it more specially with the equalizers. better bass, treble and everything.
so there's no way we can fix/access that when we are into win 7, Alchemy has nothing to do with it btw... i have it either.
for now our tweaking would be limited with this; ( Creative Audio Control Panel which you could find at the Start menu button)
    http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/42/unledvy.png?
adjust that slider according to your liking, mostly it just adds/reduce the echoes with the audio as far i had observed.

  • Severe Jitter/Glitches with Audigy Value/SE in Windows 7 64bit

    Hello all,

    Windows 7 64BIT

    Thanks for the reply jmacguire.
I'm using default values: 6 bit, 48000 hz (DVD Quality)
Which one do you recommend with the SB Audigy SE?
The sound distorts when listening music in youtube or other flash webpages, both in normal and in HQ settings.
I have tried almost everything. I think the drivers downoladed for Windows 7 works better.
Then the Autoupdate function downloaded some new drivers (version .0090 I think) and it screwed up the sound on the web.

  • EAX Console Application encounters errors (cant use it) - Audigy 2 ZS

I bought my Audigy 2 ZS in late 2006 and i used to enjoy the EAX Console, but its always been flaky. Often I have to reinstall it from the CD and that is total crap. I have the latest drivers and the EAX console crashes on me. Where can I get the newest version?
EAX Console Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The Creative Volume console works fine, but I used to like messing witht he EAX console while listening to music, its much better than all the crappy winamp plugins out there, but it seems I can no longer use it.

I'm on Windows XP Pro SP3. I dont see why the app breaks constantly. Even when I got it brand new it failed within a month or 2. The only way I've gotten it to work is to install the drivers and app off the cd constantly. And that is ridiculous. The new drivers shouldnt break anything either, maybe they can update the apps and put them online. So what if someone that doesnt have the soundcards can attempt to use them, I paid good money for my card, because I had creative soundcards that were very good in the past. I just wish the EAX console worked, winamp plugins suck compared to the Creative EAX [email protected]

  • Audigy 2 - EAX-Console crashes everyti

    Hi,
I own the Audigy 2 ZS and have some trouble with the EAX-Console.
When I want to change some settings there (CMSS f.e.) the software just hangs up.
Like 80% of the time and I am not able to restart it, until I do a reboot.
I have the latest drivers, so I tryd that already.
    Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem as you guys, I have Audigy2 ZS retail and everything was working fine until I got Silent Hunter 3. It was suggested I re-install the soundcard drivers/software so I tried that. Now my EAX console, Graphic Equalizer, surround sound mixer, creative speaker settings will not open. I've also tried a system restore, uninstall, re-install using the cleansweep method, drivers from disk and online got all updates. I've repeated this four or fi've times and Still nothing. When I tried to open the EQ an error pops up that says nothing in it except a red X. EAX console says "no components registered".
I hope I don't have to re-install Windows just to get this soundcard software working properly agian.
    Thanks

  • Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6

<div class="lia-component-body lia-message-body">Hey there, out of nowhere I have the following problem:
I have used several versions of this audigy support Pack up to now, both in Windows XP and Windows 7 RC and all worked fine for me. Most recently I used 3.5 and 3.6 in both OS for a short time.
now I had to format my harddisk an have installed a clean version of Win XP SP3. I installed an update pack (winboard.org), the latest direct X and drivers for nvidia motherboard and videocard. Then, when I tried to install this support pack, I get an error messagge I-00 when eax-console should have been installed, something about CTengine being unable to be installed.
I read through many of the solutions here in the forum, since this error seems to be not so rare. But up to now, nothing helped. This is, what my install.log tells me:
    [EAX Console]
    GUID={5B7E626-7885-4FC3-A66A-73548A4F0FD}
Warning=I-008 CTRegSvr fails to register C:\Programme\Creative\EAX\Karaoke.exc.
    [Common Audio Driver Interface]
    GUID={700932B3-A964-4878-82A2-96054622AF7}
    Warning=I-007 RegSvr32 fails to un-register C:\Programme\Creative\ShareDLL\CADI\ctcadi.dll.
All other install.log from the other parts of the pack contain no warning. Everything except the EAX-console works fine, if I try to start that, I get an error "No components are registered", an I don't have a "karaoke" register, but otherwise it works well, I can use the effects and cmss.
What the heck could I do?
I made an new thread, since nobody seamed to react to my post in the support pack thread.

HRe: Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6o What you have is a missing file, or perhaps your system is wanting to install direct X redistributable or something similar. Do a search on your system for install.log and when you find the newest one, or second to newest one, open it with notepad. It will tell you exactly what you are missing. I was trying to install some components for my Elite Pro and it said in the install.log that it could not find DXREDIST. So I copied a version I had to the installing program's folder and it worked!? So take a look at that log and see what is missing......write back with your results if you dont mind. In the original post I had seen the registration problems with components. You can manually run regsvr32 with the /? switch and see how to unregister that yourself and then try the installation again.
    Cheers,

  • [SB Audigy 2] Enabling Audio Effects in EAX Console No Sound in Games.

K[SB Audigy 2] Enabling Audio Effects in EAX Console > No Sound in Games.7 Subject says it all.
Got an SB Audigy 2 from a friend, installed the latest drivers. Enabled the Audio Effects in the EAX Console ('Advanced EQ > Pop' to be more specific) Music sounds great and all, but most games I play will have no sound. Disabling the effects returns the sound. Only happens with games that use EAX btw, obviously. I would really like to be able to play games with the improved sound.
Is this suppose to happen? I've tried the unnoficial drivers as well, no difference.
    Thanks in advance.
