Where is my files after Lion

Before our files were at Library/application support/iWeb/Domain... but it is not there anymore.  Lion moved it.  I would like where he put them?  Thank you
Odette

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for or to switch between multiple domain files  Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • IPhoto 8.1.2 Double Library File After Lion Install

Hi, After Lion install I'v got a double iPhoto Library File in iPhoto 8.1.2 whil I have only one library.
Is this normal ? Is there a way to get rid of one of the two files or to combine them ? On other Macs only one file shows up.
    See screenshots.
In the Finder only one iPhoto Library appear in the images file.
This is the content of the IPhoto Library package :

That's an issue with the Dock. I would trash the Dock caches. I would post on the Using Mac OS X forum for more on that.

  • Where are my files after running Migration Assistant?

I ran Migration Assistant using a Time Machine back up as I bought a new MacBook Pro that could hold all my files that I previously had on an iMac and another MacBook Pro. I first ran Migration Assistant and got all my files, preferences etc. on the new MBP no problem, but then after trying to combine the files from the iMac using a Time Machine back up as well, I don't see any of the files from my iMac available anywhere. However, all the space is filled up. Where are my files? Am I doing it wrong?

Have you read for possible solutions over in the "More Like This" thread over here?----------------------->

  • Missing Files after Lion Upgrade

After upgrading to Lion I am missing files from a folder named "printers" I had created.  The previous os used a "printer" folder but not "printers".  It seems as if the Lion operating system deleted the existing folder and placed new files in there. I've searched the computer after enabling hidden files to no avail.  Any ideas as to how to recover the files?
    Thanks

Where had you put that folder?
If in the top-level System or Library folder, that's why; those were replaced by the Lion installer, since we mere mortals are not supposed to fool with them.
Restore it from your backups, but put it somewhere else; either in a user home folder or the special Shared user folder.

  • Where is IWEB domain file in lion time machine backup

I have read around and know how to locate the iweb domain file on my computer- apparently the library file is hidden and you need to press alt to unhide it.
But my problem is a bit different. I recently reformatted my system back to lion. I was going to use my time machine back up to restore but apparently its corrupt and I can only manually nagivate the files now. I'm trying to look for my iweb domain file while navigating the folders but cannot find it. I went to library and application support but there is no Iweb file there. This back up was done in lion, so I don't know where i can find this "hidden" library file.
I know its a hidden file because when i go to the library folder on my mac- HD>library> app support I don't find the iweb domain on my computer. Its only after i unhide it by pressing alt when i click on "go" do i get a library folder in which the iweb domain is housed.
I would really like to recover my website but dont know where to look on my timemachine backups.
    Any help would be appreciated.

The default location for the domain file is your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. So go to that folder in Time Machine and see if you can see and recover the Domain.sites2 file.
Then make the Lion library visible as described below and open it with iWeb as described below:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
NOTE: If you repair disk permissions with Disk Utility on your boot drive you will have to rerun the script with Terminal to make the Library folder visible again.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files  Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
Or you can download an already compiiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.

  • I can't copy big size files to my 1TB external after lion up

I have a 1 TB external HDD, 2 partitions a 174.5GB MAC OS EXTENDED used as a backup and an 825.23 MS-DOS(FAT32) for everything else. before i upgraded to LION it works fine. after LION i copy a 800MB movie file to either of the 2 partitions it shows the file being copied and the gray file icon is there  but after the process is complete the file isnt there and the HDD size doesnt change. while when i try to copy a 7GB file to either of the partitions this message appeares (The item “123.mkv” can’t be copied because it is too large for the volume's format).
    am using a macbook 13" dual core 2.4ghz 4gb ram. ---
i tried my brother's HDD and i faced the same issues. however on his MBK its fine.
i honestly don't want to try and restore before LION and do the process again coz i would have to download LION again, and i also can't transfer the files on the external HDD coz its too big and i don't have anywhere to put them.
if anyone has a solution please do post. otherwise i would have to re-do 30hrs woth of work again coz its not backed up
    thanx

    HI,
That's kinda strange, i really believe i have tried to copy files larger than 4GB to the HDD before on leopard, but maybe am confused on that.
i repaired the permissions on all the HDDs even the enternal one.
and i actually tried a document file of maybe 60KBs and the same thing on both partitions.
i think the good news is that i checked on the backup of TimeMachine and yep it backedup files "weooh" i tried and created files on my own and checked the back up and its there.
the weired thing is when i try to copy those same file my self ( Drag n Drop or Copy n Paste) its not working on either partition.
i would really appreciate a solution where i wont have to restore to leopard and re-install lion, i would be happy to provide who you with more detail if you might be able to help
    cheers,
    Anas

  • Where do I find the Library in a Time Machine backup after Lion installation?

Where do I find the Library in a Time Machine backp after Lion installation?

You can access the backups of another computer by holding down the option key and selecting "Browse other Time Machine disks" from the Time Machine menu in the menu bar. As for getting to the Library folder, you would have to use something like the free application "Tinker Tool" (not "Tinker Tool System") to make hidden files visible in the Finder, then enter Time Machine.

  • Where is the file of the funds of screen in Lion?

Where is the file of the funds of screen in Lion?

Two of the Screen Savers folders are initially empty, yes.
If you want to use photographs for a screensaver, don't put them in those folders, though. Store them somewhere else, then click the "+" button on the screensaver preferences page and choose "Add folder of pictures".
If you want to use them as backgrounds for desktops, again, don't use the Screen Savers folders, just put them in a new folder somewhere else, then juse use the "+" button on the Desktop preferences pane.
If you're setting background images for Spaces (virtual desktops), set each one individually. Remember to close System Preferences once you're done with each desktop, then switch to the next one, right-click on the desktop, and click Change Desktop Background again.
    Hope that helps.

  • Where are PDF files "printed" by Acrobat 8.3.1 in Mountain Lion?

I just got a new Mac Mini and transferred my old version of Acrobat Pro 8.3.1.  I know that it will have some problems in Mountain Lion, but I only want to do a few simple things.
When I try to print to PDF and select Adobe PDF 8.0 as the printer (to create a PDF) file, then click "Print", no "Save" dialog box appears to ask where I want the file saved or what it should be named.  It seems to be making a PDF file, since the printer icon appears on the dock for a few seconds, but I can't find the PDF file anywhere.  I tried looking a "All My Files" sorted by date, but they don't seem to be there.
Does anyone know where the PDF files are being placed?
Meanwhile, of course, I am using the Mac's own PDF print option to make my PDF files, but I would prefer to use the Adobe one if possible.

You could try using spotlight to search for PDF files... short of that, you may have to ask Adobe.

Migration assistant failed after 90% of the way; where are the files now and how do I get rid of them?

Hello.  It looks like I recovered all my keywords attached to photos.  What I did:
First I located all photos without keywords using a metadata search.
I found that it seemed to be certain groups of photos that had no keywords.  I decided to at least get the main keyword on all of those in a particular group, like Canyonlands.
Once I added one of the keywords, the others all showed up magically!  I then went to each group of photos and added the main keyword, and the others came along and attached to the photos.
Don't understand why this occurred or why it got fixed, since it was so random.  But, I'm glad to have my keywords restored (I had divided flowers by color, etc. so it was a lot of work!)
Thanks for the discussion and help.

  • Where can i find the files after backing-up in itunes? i'm using windows 7. thanks!

i cant locate my back-up files after running a back-up in itunes. please help.

Okay...I have some more information and perhaps we are getting closer.  On the 250GB, first I went into that disk and used Disk Utilty to re-format it once using Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then a second time, zeroing it out. I did a screen shot to review if needed, and both times it looked perfect...249GB available.  Then I went into the Time Machine preferences to get ready to backup again, and it had not excluded the other external 120GB with iTunes so I excluded it. I may has previously, never noticed in that screen that it takes a bit of time for it to calculate the information to save.  I may have just clicked on it quickly without reviewing it first.  Today I did, and gave it time to calculate.  At one point the actual 250GB itself, showed up and I excluded it too like the 120GB.  After it finished, the calculations are still it wrong - claiming it has a 200GB backup when the iMac either contains 150GB (based on when I do Get Info) on it or from OmniDisk which calculated about 100GB.  I have not allowed Time Machine to do a backup yet, until this discrepancy can be clear.
One thing that I thought I had seen or reviewed previous on the Time Machine settings was my home folder - I could be wrong but wanted to mention that.  Another little tidbit to ponder an well is that I have a files of icons that I use for the Hard Disks, and a few folders where I Get Info on the Icon and on the destination and just cut and paste.  I did that today to the 250GB after zeroing, but while I was in the Time Machine settings the change was deleted and neither the manufactures icon was there nor mine, and it has the default blue-green one the software uses.  I know, because my sister's is that way on her system-unchanged.
    Feedback?
