  • Bought CS5.5 and was promised free CS6 upgrade. WITH NO LUCK

Bought CS5.5 and was promised free CS6 upgrade. Tried once before (actually talking to someone on phone) with no success. My work is crazy May through December so just tried to get upgrade again and was denied.
THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO THEM:
Been using your products for over 10 years. Love the products and will continue to use them. But this is absurd and makes me extremely pissed. I purchased the package thinking I was going to get a free upgrade and was never informed of upgrade deadline at time of purchase. Furthermore I called Adobe once before (right around the release of cs6) and was told the update would take sometime. I don't know what Adobe thinks they will gain by pissing off a loyal customer. I have always thought it was best to obtain products legally by paying for them. Whatever. For now on when talking about how great Adobe products are there will always be a footnote of frustration attached to it.

Please contact me with a private message with your contact information and I'll try to work the system for you.

  • Help needed to get my free CS6 upgrade

Hi fellow Photoshop users, I like others made the forced late 2011 CS4 to CS5 upgrade. Now I have seen where Adobe revised their policy about upgrading qualifications. I feel that I am warranted a free upgrade to CS6 because I was informed it was manditory at the time. Please reply back with stratgey to get Adobe to comply. I have opened support cases only to have Adobe close the cases without any reason or information. Thanks!

I am really disappointed in how Adobe handled the upgrades for the CS6 Photoshop. It is all really unfair... and I do really feel "coerced"
I was told 5 weeks or so ago that I could not upgrade from CS4 to CS6  without upgrading first to CS5.  NOT in 2011... just a few weeks ago.
I knew I wanted CS6 as I had purchased the CS4 Masters Collection a couple of years back.(for thousands of dollars)
So...in order to upgrade I purchased a legal boxed CS5 upgrade disc on Amazon for $179.  But when I tried to upgrade I it would not take because I was upgrading from a Collection. I hadn't realized  that I would need to purchase a CS5 Collection upgrade. I hardly ever used ANY of the other programs outside of Dreamweaver and I really didn't need any Dreamweaver updates for what I do. But I went ahead and bought a smaller Collection CS5 upgrade that included both Photoshop and Dreamweaver as well as a couple of other programs that I will probably never even open, for $519.00!!!
Luckily I knew a friend who was also using CS4 and he said he would buy the Photoshop CS5 upgrade from me for $150.  I wasn't happy to lose the $29 plus shipping but such is life. A week later, my friend called and said he hadn't installed the upgrade and that NOW...because of a uproar among Photoshop CS4 users, Adobe was allowing a straight CS4 to CS6 upgrade and that he would return my disc to me. :-(
So now I have spent some $698 dollars and I still only have a trial version of CS6 and and a legal CS4>CS5 upgrade disc that nobody wants or needs anymore.
Today my CS6 Trial expired. I do like it and I want it, but I have already put out a considerable sum of money trying to get it.  I have been putting off dealing with this because it is surely a total PIA... I really feel I have been ripped-off on this.
Now it looks like I am supposed to put out another $199 to upgrade my CS5 to CS6... So ultimately I would be paying $897 to upgrade to Photoshop CS6... the ONLY program I really wanted to upgrade to begin with. (actually probably more because they will probably want me to freaking upgrade to a CS6 Collection update for another outrageous amount... )
I am surprised that Adobe would treat long time customers so poorly... as Mylenium suggest they should... and Sidney Brock says has occurred.

  • Error message in Photoshop CS6 upgrade download

I just purchased the upgrade from Photoshop CS5 to CS6 as a download. I downloaded the download manager as instructed, and installed it. I then downloaded the CS6 upgrade. But when I went to install it, it asked for my serial number, which I (double-checked and) provided. It gave me a message saying that although it is a valid serial number, there is no product available that matches that serial number. I don't understand. Help?

You need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

  • Free CS6 upgrade includes cloud?

Adobe (or others in the know),
My company recently purchased several copies of CS5.5 with the intention of getting the free upgrade to CS6. I was under the impression you could get access to the cloud with this. But I now see in the terms that you "will receive a one-time upgrade to the equivalent Adobe Creative Suite 6 product (download version only) at no additional cost when it ships publicly". By "one-time upgrade" and "download version", do you mean you won't receive a hard copy of the downloadable files, or do you mean download, not Creative Cloud version that is a one time version with no future upgrades?
I would really like to use creative cloud, but if that's not available with our purchased versions, then I can't afford to buy all the copies a second time...
I'm sure Adobe WANTS people to migrate to the cloud, correct?
Look forward to claification on this. THANKS SO MUCH!
    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,
I don't know exactly which version you purchased, you might have to contact Adobe customer service to confirm. The CS6 products will be available in a few different ways, as perpetual and as subscription. The perpetual versions come in different formats, hard copy (disc in a box) and download, this version includes a serial number and is one which you own. With the subscription version, you are more less renting the product for a set time period, a year, month to month, etc.
Right now the CS6 versions (in either perpetual and subscription) are not available. If you buy a CS5.5 perpetual version currently you can upgrade to CS6 free. This sounds like like what you did and that the free upgrade in this case is a download version.
Upgrades for subscription and perpetual will work differently as well. Subscription customers may get some "feature related" updates before perpetual products. Any updates that address issues with the current release of the software will still be available to both.
The Creative Cloud subscription products are more than just the products themselves and include certain services that go along with them. What specific format, perpetual or subscription works best for you is up to you. If you bought perpetual but actually wanted subscription I would suggest contacting our sales department to see if its possible to change.
There is this Creative Cloud Membership FAQ that has a lot of info about it. It might be helpful if you haven't looked it over already.

  • CS6 upgrade download with IE10 reports incorrect version of IE

I have another problem now, I have purchased from Adobe the upgrade for CS6 but when I try to download it says I do not have the correct version of Internet Explorer and yet IE is telling me I have version 10 - I also have windows 8 and since Adobe doesnt like IE I have downloaded Mozilla but I am still unable to download and tried everything spending a good half an hour - I have the product receipt and just dont know where to go next, such a pain I had hoped this would be easy, just recently I have encountered enough problems one way and another.

  • Free CS6 upgrade for student master collection at $599?

Our school sells the Master Collection for $599 (currently CS5.5).  I would like to buy it and the school staff assures me that I'd get the free upgrade to CS6 if I bought it now.  However, that price (which they've had for awhile now, and is not listed as a special or sale price for them) seems to be less than the normal educational price for the Master Collection.  They say the price will go up when they have CS6 to sell.
The adobe upgrade policy says that the following are invalid: "Receipts showing a product price that is discounted more than 25% off the Adobe retail or educational price (some product exceptions apply)"
What is the regular educational price for the CS5.5 Master Collection and does a purchase now at my school qualify for the free upgrade to CS6 Master Collection when it is released?  The price listed on the adobe site for CS6 Master Collection is $799, which would make our school's price 25.03% off that.
I want to buy now but want to be sure to qualify for the discount.
2nd question: if this is eligible for the upgrade, can I buy the Mac version and then switch to the PC version later?  Our school is out of stock on the PC collection and won't get any in until May 4th.  (which is cutting it very close to cutoff date for eligibility on upgrades).

I'm also in the same situation, kind of. I already got my cs5.5 master collection through my school on the 26th. But every other post I've read about the upgrade only says Creative Suite cs5.5 will get upgrade. So I'm trying to find out if people who got the master collection (which comes with the Creative Suites) are eligible for upgrades complimentary? Any help answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Where Is it?  - iPhone upgrade download??

    Hi to all
Is it me? Is it my age? I simply don't seem able to find the download to upgrade iphone for Multiple messages, and all the new web apps etc; please point me in the right direction.
    Ta

Not that it matters, but what version of iTunes are you running? Either 7.5 or 7.6 should work.
And you're connecting your iPhone via its cradle directly into a USB port? Does iTunes come up and try to sync with the iPhone, as usual? Try checking for updates on the iPhone screen?

  • Install instructions for CS6 upgrade for WIndows missing - in what order should files be run?

After over 14 days of dealing with the idiots at Adobe Support, opening and closing of 2 cases multiple times, promised emails not being sent (and being blamed for having my email set up to filter out Adobe emails), attempts to charge me for the already approved "free" upgrade, and then having an order for a physical disk version of the CS6 upgrade cancelled by some bonehead, I finally was able to download the CS6 upgrade files.  Only to discover that there are no installation instructions for Windows if you did not use the Akamai download manager (which I did not).
There are a total of 6 files in the download directory, all downloaded from the CS6 upgrade download page.
    - In what order should the files be run?  Just run the .exe files, or do some files need to be extracted/unzipped first?
A second question: my CS5.5 version was never installed, and never registered.
    - Will the CS6 upgrade accept its serial number directly, or do I have to do something else through Adobe Support?

Which files: all of them on the CS6 Production Premium upgrade download page.
    ProductionPremium_CS6_LS7.7z
    ProductionPremium_CS6_LS7.exe
    PremierePro_6_Content_LS7.7z
    PremierePro_6_Content_LS7.exe
    Illustrator_16_Content_LS16.exe
    Download_and_Install_Instruction_all.pdf
    The last one is useless.
The Speech Analyzer Models were downloaded separately, from another page.  I assume they should be installed after everything else is installed and working.

  • Where can I find Photoshop CS6 for download?

Where can I find Photoshop CS6 for download?

Thank you for the update.  I currently have Photoshop CS4.  I plan to update to CS6.  Unfortunately Adobe sales is closed on the weekend.  I plan to purchase the upgrade on Monday assuming that is possible.  In the meantime, I was going to download CS6 just to save time.

  • Academic Superstore CS5.5 download not eligible for CS6 upgrade?

CS5 academic version was purchased directly from Adobe in 2010 and is registered in my Adobe account.
A recent email from an academic reseller about buying CS5.5 before May 6 in order to receive a free upgrade grabbed my attention. It's really looking like a situation of buyer beware. I opted for a download version which came with an activation code for immediate gratification.  But no serial number or product code was included.
I went through the steps to register with Adobe immediately after the installation on 4/30/12. Yesterday, out of curiosity, I checked my account at Adobe and did not see CS5.5 as being registered.  After much searching, it seems like the download version is not considered a valid purchase by Adobe.
When the Academic Superstore was contacted, they immediately resent the email that contained the download link and activation code.  In a follow up message, they "stated" that the serial number was sent in the previous message, but also to check junk mail in case it got filtered. (It was not.)
A screen grab from the Adobe Support portal with my name and address, with the request to enter the serial number was sent to the Academic Superstore. No response.
I paid for and received a product.   However, I can't help but feel like I was scammed as the Superstore did not make a distinction between the boxed version or download version.
I've already resigned my self... but do I have any options with Adobe or the Superstore?

    Hi Jeff,
    This is certainly useful information.
However, I didn't realize that downloaded versions with an activation code purchased from a reseller are not considered valid.  Academic Superstore did not send me a a key ingredient, a serial number, and have stopped responding to my concerns about receiving one from them.
I can't help but have the impression that this was an underhanded presentation of product on their part, e.g. there was no warning that the purchased download version would not be eligible for the CS6 upgrade.  Had I known, I would have purchased the boxed version.
    Best regards,
    WV

  • Download of CS6 Upgrade not showing up?

Just received an email saying my CS6 upgrade was ready.  When I log on and go to the order, click download, it takes me to the downloads page and says I have no downloads.  Any ideas where my download might be?

  • Difficulty finding downloaded CS6 (upgraded to CS5) for Win after following all recommended steps

Hi there - would appreciate a hand on what I am sure is a very basic request - I purchased upgrade CS5 to CS6 online about 3 days ago and signed in and located my order, clicked on it and proceeded to what I thought was 'download', waited for it to download and then the download window disappeared and I thought it would pop up with 'Run' or similar but nothing happens. This has happened 3 times. I have been using the Akamai net session - I checked in my downloads file each time and there is nothing there. My order and serial number now appear in the Downloads section of my account at Adobe so that apparently means it is downloaded but I can't find anything! Thanks folks
I basically followed the steps suggested by this helpful forum note (which replicates what was in the email the Adobe Store sent me:
Q: I can't find the product I downloaded, where is it?
A: The following steps will help locate your software for download:
    Go to Adobe.com.
Click Sign In (in the upper right corner).
Enter your Adobe ID and password, and then click Sign In.
Click My Orders and then Order History.
Locate the order number, and click the Download link in the Downloads column.
Start the download by choosing one of the following:
Click Download and follow the onscreen instructions.
Click Akamai Download Manager and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you prefer downloading directly in a browser, click Alternate Download Method. Then click the .7z and .exe files (Windows) or the .dmg file (Mac OS) to download the software to your computer.

    Hi seanlark,
Please find the below document which should be helpful to locate the download link from your Adobe account:
Find a download link on Adobe.com
If you still face issue in locating the Download link from your Account then you can download your CS6 from the below link:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
Then use the serial number to activate your product.
    Thank you.
