Where is my iPhoto on mac pro?

where is m=iphoto on the mac book pro ?
Not standard ?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If you have just purchased the MacBook Pro, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand are free for you, but they don't come preinstalled. Instead, open App Store, go to Purchases tab and accept iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, so they will start downloading and they will be installed. Then, they will be registered to your Apple ID, so you will be able to install it on other Macs for free (using your Apple ID)

  • Migrating iPhoto to Mac Pro/Leopard

My iPhoto library is on an external hard disk. I'm migrating to a Mac Pro and iPhoto 7.1.2 from a G4. I am not using Migration Assistant. I want to leave the iPhoto library on the external hard disk. But, I want to import my library reference to my new iPhoto/Mac Pro. What would be the best way to go about this move?
Any tips would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    m

you do NOT import - you simply tell iPhoto where the library is - be sure your EHD is connected and launch iPhoto with the option (alt) key depressed and select the select library option - point to the iPhoto library on your EHD

  • Where can I buy the Mac Pro 2013 motherboard? Just the motherboard

So where can I buy JUST the Mac pro 2013 motherboard? If you can, please link it.
    Thanks!

This is a User-to-User help site.
Helpers get their rewards by helping.
I know some good solutions to a lot of problems with Mac Pros. And other readers know a whole lot more solutions.
I do not know of any problem that can be solved by replacing these boards in a nearly-new Mac Pro. The processor board is sold as a bare board, with no processors or heatsinks. It takes an hour of trained technician time just to install the processors and heat sinks, and you MUST get the correct parts or it will not work. If your technique is not correct, the processor(s) will self destruct when you power them up.
The mainboard does not include the SATA connectors, which are actually on a wiring harness that is attached from behind.
What problem are you trying to solve here?

  • Where to best allocate my Mac Pro funds...?

I'm about to upgrade to the new tower and to Logic X. I need some advice on the macpro configuration. Where should I spend more if I'm focusing completely on Logic X? memory, PCIe flash storage or core count? Everything seems to be different with the new system as far as upgrades... Thanks!

    Personal opinion..
Memory first.. as most of the Mac Pros have a lot of base horsepower already.. I run a 32GB iMac.. and the difference in performance, using LPX and Mavericks.. over an identical iMac with 16GB.. is quite noticable.
Then CPU cores... I find a i7 3.4Ghz Quad (8 cores with Hyperthreading) Core is enough for me.. and my needs but 8 real Cores and therefore 16 with Hyper would be pretty beefy I am sure...
    Then external fast storage....

  • HT4052 IPhoto 812  mac pro laptop

I have this app on my Apple Mac Pro but it has corrupted and not showing any of my pictures on my computer.  The pictures are all there under "all images" in my I Library but I cannot open them.  I tried downloading the app again but can't remember admin pw to install it on the laptop and to be honest is not all that sure that it was the way to go anyway.  Does anyone have any idea how to get my pictures and events back on Iphoto.  There are weird pictures showing on the IPhoto that are certainly not mine.

I take it you're running iPhoto 8.1.2 so give this a try (just the same as Larriy's suggestion but with pictures ):  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • HT3770 Where are 1,1 (2006) Mac Pros?

Bought as a full 64bit system and now even Apple is not  listing it as it would:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3770
So no Mountain Lion support on a +2,5K€ system boutght as a 64bit one?
Com'on Apple stop playing with those iThings and go back to Mac computers...

Maybe you guys are just not getting the point.
I bought it as a full 64bit computer and now the same company -Apple-  is telling her users that "sorry, that was not true!"
The questiion is why should I upgrade buying a new Mac Pro if my actual config is just working as aspected and should work as a full 64bit config? Is just a silly Apple decision of not supporting a system that even today is better that some new non-Pro models. AAMOF I can even run Windows 7 64bit on it.... but not because Apple support it... of course you have to hack a bit just because Apple decided to give no support for such a config.
That is a stupid move most of all because the current MacPro models are just "old": no USB3, no Thunderbolt, no SDXC slot, old video cards ... but of course same old price... in the mean time that price should have been lowered a lot (maybe up to 30-40% in those config whitout a super Xeon config). At an updated price I would have bought a new Mac Pro already (at least 8 months ago). New Xeon CPUs are coming... we'll see what's going to happen.
Very old-school Mac user here guys... one of those user who always supported Apple especially when things were not going as well today.
There is only one absolute certainty: Apple is no more investing in the Pro market. And it is a real shame.

  • Where did everyone's new Mac Pro ship from?

Mine shipped from "BLOOMINGTON, CA". And it only took 3 days, with FedEx Ground. Interesting, I thought it's manufactured in China?

I got a shipping notice for mine this evening. Fedex says they picked it up in Fullerton, CA.
My understanding is that Apple routinely does the CTO/BTO final configurations in the USA.

  • Why can´t I upgrade my Mac Pro to OS Mountain Lion?

Being a person with great interest in photography, video and moviemaking I made a big personal investment a couple of years ago in buying what I thought was the best available computer on the market for multimedia projects for the time being, that is a well equiped Mac Pro (Processor 2x3 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with Memory 8 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 FB-DIMM). After that I also upgraded my Mac Pro with a better graphic card (ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB) and extra HDD´s Up till now there has been no problem to upgrade my computer to every new realesed OS software  (latest OS X Lion 10.7.04) from Apple, but when recently trying to download the latest version of OSX, that is Mountain Lion, this posibility seems to have come to an endpoint! When I try to upgrade to Mountain Lion, I get the message that this is not possible with my Mac Pro (in which I for sure totally up til now have invested at least 70-80 000 swedish kronor (10 - 12 000 dollars).
Is this really so, and if so, why has Apple in this way seemingly abandoned all those earlier loyal customers over the world who by investing their money in Apple´s Pro line of products like Mac Pro´s, have contributed so much in building the good reputation and economic ground for the development of Apple in becoming such a sucessful company? Even if Mac Pro still is a strong and competive computer for the time being, this discontinuation of softwaresupport for the big stock of sold Mac Pro computers world wide, remarks a crossroad from where in the long run, Mac pro´s will become useless and therefore also worthless in such an extent that heir owners once more have to make investments in new hardware from Apple, taking for granted that they find it still being a value in being trustful to the Apple line of computer products.
While a company as a rule always willl find ways to make investments in new hardware of great quality if this is calculated to increase the income of the company, the sitaution is totally different for all independent and creative people over the world who have a much lower budget for their projects and as a rule get no profit from their work but their personal joy and emotional satisfaction.
Do I really have to through my Mac Pro away (it will probably be impossible to sell it to a worthy price after Apple now has discontinued supporting the development of  it´s OS ) or do I have to buy a new Mac Book Pro with Retina Display and Thunderbolt Interface of latest version in order to feel safe in continuing using Apple´s Pro applications for multimedia projects foor the future with reliable continued support from Apple (and in that case for how long I ask myself), or is there any possibility to upgrade the hardware of my Mac Pro in order to upgrade to latest OS software and still feel being a member of the sanctioned Apple club?
Alternatively, maybe Apple can help all Mac Pro owners to make it possible to upgrade to needed Apple hardware and software line of their Pro applications, and thus continue to support Apple in using and inspire developing their products and Pro market shares as well as continue to spread their good reputation in this area, in supporting these reliable customers in some way, as an example by giving a discount to all Mac Pro owners upgrading to a new computer from Apple.
Maybe this in fact is the first step from Apple in a plan to soon stop selling the model Mac Pro because the latest compact Mac Book Pro´s already has exceeded the old clumpsy Mac Pro´s in function, versatility and potential for future development. If so this Apple´s decision is logic and understandable, but please don´t abondon all customers of Mac Pro´s all over the world  who have been utterly fidele to Apple in helping the Company to spread the good reputation of Apples computers to ordinary people through the years and thus to a great extent have contributed in buildning the necessary market expectations that have made it possible for Apple to develop and sell new products to a continuing growing market by fulfilling and helping ordinary peoples daily needs. I believe that without these earlier pioneers and supporters of Apple´s ever innovative productline, its not taken for sure the Apple Company should have reached this all time incredible height of success we all can witness today...
    Sincerely
    Stefanis
PS/ Me and my family are true Apple customers and supporters in having all together 4 iPhones, 4 iPods, 1 iPad, 1 MacBook, 2 MacBook Pro´s, 1 Mac Pro, 1 Apple TV 2nd gen, 1 Apple TV 3rd gen and a lot of general and Pro Application (among them all iWork programs, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro).

what a long post....Apple, btw, does not read this stuff, so ranting, raving, and complaining here might make you feel good, but it does no good at all. That being said, I, too have a Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon with 6 gigs of ram and an nVidia 8800 GT graphics card (not as good as yours, alas) and I've had no problems at all with it. Yes, it doesn't have Thunderbolt, but maybe we Mac pro owners will get lucky and someone will come out with an adapter (probably not). No, you probably don't have to throw away your Mac Pro, but if you do, I'll take it, for a small "recycling" fee >:-) That was a joke.  Yes, the Mac Pro's future isn't quite clear, YET. Hopefully that will improve very soon. As for not being able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Don't worry about that too much, Nobody is forcing you to do that.  Your Mac Pro won't quit working if it isn't installed. From what  I've heard, you should give the new OS a chance, and wait to get it, in case there might be some bugs, or stuff not working with the new OS, which has been known to happen. Yes, we Mac Pro owners don't like being treated like mushrooms-kept in the dark, and being fed......... but Apple is Apple and it will do what it does, and there is nothing you or me can really do to change that. All I can say is....trust, have faith, be patient, go for a walk, do something else to take your mind off of this problem. IF apple decides to drop the Mac Pro for good, and that's a big "IF", I think they will anger a whole bunch of people
which isn't good. However, that hasn't happened...YET. Let us hope that it doesn't

  • How to tether Mac pro to existing wifi with airport extreme

Wifi where I live.  Need Mac pro on net.  Have airport extreme.  Does apple disable this for marketing reasons to sell wifi internal card?  Or, can I use what I have?  Thanks!  Using Lion
BTW. Mac is less stable with Lion!!!!  Like using microsoft used to be :-(

2009 and earlier Mac Pros did not include a Wi-Fi card in the standard configuration.
Check the System Information app (in the Utilities folder) -> Network -> Wi-Fi and see if it indicates a wireless card is installed.

  • When I connect my iPad to my new Mac Pro, I can't see my pictures

When I connect my iPad to my new Mac Pro, I can't see my pictures on iPhoto in Mac Pro under devices.I want to import my photos from iPad to Mac Book. Can you please help me?
    Thanks and regards,

Oops ... You are correct. I misread your question. My sincere apologies. You want to import the photos from the iPad into iPhoto - not the other way around.
Connect the iPad to the Mac with the cable and launch iPhoto. Your iPad should appears under the devices heading in iPhoto - in the left sidebar - just like it does in iTunes. Click on the iPad name. Then you can import the photos.
