Where is "Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 for Windows 64 bit"??

Did you try just 3.2 update?

I find this "you need 3.0 first" then have to install year old 3.1, and only then can you install 3.2? what kind of Windows motherboard support is that?
And, you already have 3.0 installed off a 10.6 OS X DVD, and have you tried to use Apple Software Update (Windows obviously)? though I think the standalone updates are better and less trouble or problems. Download and keep them handy in case ever needed in the future too.

  • If i unplug my iphone while its "updating software" will it restore the old software? or is this a bad idea?

if i unplug my iphone while its "updating software" will it restore the old software? or is this a bad idea?

It's a bad idea. It *ought* to recover OK, but there are too many cases where it hasn't to be safe assuming that it will.
If, as Changren Yong says, you have a good backup, you always have the safety net of a restore, but it's a silly thing to do,
My advice when doing software updates is to download separately then update (you're always offered an option to download only). You can do what you like during the download, which is always the ling part of the process for me. The update usually (for me) only takes about 5 minutes.
One further point - in case you didn't know, you can initiate a backup by right-clicking the phone in iTunes and choosing Backup from the drop-down. That should always be part of your update process

  • Passing on old software?

I don't know where else to post this, so any suggestions/pointers gratefully received! (The standard site links don't seem to go to where I could usefully post this question).
I have a lot (as in a lot) of legacy Mac machinery and software. All of it works perfectly. The machinery is well looked after and I have AI and PS from versions 5 and 4 respectively. It's all about to go in the bin. And then to a landfill site.
My question is this: if I wanted to donate the whole damn lot to my kids school, would Adobe allow me to give them old software to play with? I understand the licence legals, but I am talking about re-using stuff usefully in education, that nobody in the professional world is going to revisit ever again. Does anyone know the answer, or know where I can ask the question?
    TIA

Freegle evolved out of another site, Freecycle, who my local administrators ditched for ‘political’ reasons. There’s probably an interesting story behind the change. A few months back, I was in an office where two people were discussing adding items to Freecycle and one complained that after her last contribution, she’d received 80 replies!
The kids in your street need educating. The new apps certainly look ‘cool’ and they can do things the older versions can only accomplish with a lot of fiddling, but the most important aspect of any sort of design is imagination. If someone has the latest kit but no imagination, their work won’t look too good. Put it another way, Illustrator and Photoshop are tools, which are rightly the standards by which others are judged. The basic toolsets of the old versions are more or less the same as the latest versions and the apps work well in Classic mode. They might even work under emulation—Sheepshaver, etc.
I can’t imagine a student setting out to learn Illustrator 10 or 11. They are so complicated. The early versions of AI and PS are perfect for beginners and if they concentrate on learning the basics (the Pen tool, alpha channel masking, layer blending, etc) on an old Mac, they’ll find the transition to a later version much, much easier.
My iMac is a wonderful machine and it’s nice to have the likes of iPhoto and iMovie bundled for free, but they’re horrible programs! For images, I get more from Preview than iPhoto and for movies, QuickTime Player Pro provides much better quality.
Despite the current obcession with targets and academic success, there are still some young people who enjoy learning how to do and make things and there’s probably someone in your street who’s quietly struggling with the latest bloatware, who would be glad of your G4s. An ad in the newspaper shop, or the parish magazine, perhaps?
As for licensing, many of us started out with second-hand machines which came with lots of software. I know I did—I couldn’t afford to buy everything new. If you dispose of your equipment quietly, who will know?

  • Where's the old driver? I don't want e-print!!

Need to re-install my printer driver, as my laptop had to be rebuilt.
BUT I can only now find the e-print driver for HP Photosmart 5510 - where is the usual driver??
The e-print isn't working very well for printing, and also can't seem to use it to scan documents -
I'm a bit annoyed!! Have had to download the e-print, struggling with it not working and even working out how to contact hp has been very difficult involving me logging into this forum...??
Where is the usual driver is the only thing I want to know. Simple really.
    Paula

    Hi Paula,
Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I am afraid that there is no "old driver".  Once a new driver is released, the old software is removed.  While you may not be the only one to bemoan the fact, it is still the case.
ePrint is separate from the Full Feature Software.  You do not have to use ePrint at all -- in fact, one has to register the printer with HP Connected to connect the printer to the Internet; it is a separate and deliberate act and not one associated with the everyday use of the printer.
You did not mention your Operating System -- therein might lie the issue; are you using an unsupported Operating System?  For example, are you using  Mac Yosemite?
Several recent Windows and Mac Operating Systems do provide the Full Feature Software for this printer:
    HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One Printer - B111a Drivers
For recent versions of Windows the following may be helpful.
General Instructions to Install the Printer Software
    Reminder:
In most cases, the Solution Center has been replaced by the Printer Assistant.
The Printer Assistant shortcut will be installed on your Desktop during the last part of the installation.
    Windows Operating System:
Create Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR  Create a restore point Win8
    Open HP Drivers & Downloads
    Enter your Printer Model information
Select your Printer from the “Results” list
    OR
    Open HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One Printer - B111a Drivers
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu
    Click NEXT and Scroll down
Look for category Driver - Product Installation Software
Select the Basic Driver, e-print, or Full Feature Software
Save the *.exe installation package(s) on your computer
The file(s) will likely save to the "Downloads “folder.
Be sure to look for Updates as needed for your installation. If available, you may download the Print and Scan Doctor and / or other programs from Category – Utilities.
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select run as Administrator and install.
    NOTES:
Look at the bottom half of the main webpage for your printer for helpful videos to assist with the installation of the printer software!
Scroll the video list back and forth until you find the video that most closely matches your situation.
If using a USB connection: Download and install the driver software before connecting a USB cable.
Ethernet: Connect the printer to the network and (Optional) assign the printer an IP address at the router. Once the printer is connected to the network, be sure the printer is switched on and then install the printer software.
After the initial installation is complete and working, check / install Category - Update
There is valuable information at the support website, including sections for Manuals, Troubleshooting > How-to, Troubleshooting > Solve a Problem, plus alerts and notifications for your printer.  Be sure to take an extended look at what is available.  Bookmark the page.

  • App store it says I have downloaded Mavericks, but still have old software? helppppp

I tried downloading the new mavericks, but nothing haooened except the app store saying that it is downloaded. So now where I click to install it says downloaded when I clearly have the old software still. I cheked everything and I am compatible to download the new Mavericks Software. Any ideas?

Previously you said nothing happens & now you say it stops so it isn't very clear exactly what is going on. Do you get a progress bar next to the install button after you click on it? If so, by "stop" do you mean the progress bar appears to stall or something else?
Also if you open the Applications folder in a Finder window & arrange the screen so you can see both that & the App Store window, when you click on the Install button, do you see the Install OS X Mavericks app appear in the Finder window, even briefly? (It may help to set the Finder view to list view & sort by date.)

  • Updated to Firefox 8 and now lost my calender in Lightning because it's not compatible. What can I do, and where's my old calender information?

Upgraded to Firefox 8 and now I've lost my Lightning calender that I used in Thunderbird because it's not compatible with 8. What can I use now and where is my old calender information?

    Hi Brian,
You should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved]. These should give you all the information you need!
    If that doesn't work:
    # Type about:config in the address bar
    # Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
    # In the Filter input field type ''startup''
    # Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    # Delete the text string and click ''OK''
    # Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Using old software on macbook

Can I use my old final cut software without upgrading to the universal bi on my mackbook including photshop etc.
Again I just want install my old software.... is this possible.
    thank you for your help.
    1.5ghz Powerbook G4, 1ghz Yikes, 3.4ghz Vaio, Shuffle   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Yes it's possible.
It will run a much slower speed, but yes it is possible.
I tested my FCP non UB on my MacBook before I crossgraded and the performance was much slower than the updated UB version.
It will run smoothly enough to edit.

  • Mac book pro -intel duo  - will my old software work with it?

Not sure if I should get the 2.4 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo Mac book pro as I have heard old software will not work on it and I really do not want to have to buy new software, just to add on to the cost.
    Can anyone help.
The software I have that I want to work with it is:
    Micro Soft Office Version 10.0.0
    Photoshop Version 7.0
Final cut Pro HD Version 4.5
I am have OS X TIGER 10.4.6 although the operating system that will come with the new Mac book Pro will be leopard - I guess.
Can any one help with my dilemma?
    THANKS

Microsoft Office v.X will work fine, Adobe Photoshop 7 should be able to do its thing as well although you might have problems installing it (some of the Adobe installers don't work right). However, it's not recommended that you use less than FCP 5.1.
Sure having to upgrade software is a pain and can substantially add to the cost of transitioning to Intel system but as time most applications will need to be upgraded anyway. It just pushes the costs forward a bit. Just remember you pay upgrade costs and not new package costs.

How do get my old software back

    Restore from your backup?
What happened that your old software is not on your iPhone?
Did you restore the iPhone? Did you update the iOS version?
Need a little more detail as to what you were doing when the
    software disappeared.
Or are you asking how to return to a previous version of iOS?
If that is the real question, the answer is that you cannot.
There is no supported way to revert to an earlier version of iOS.

  • Hi, can I go back from software version OS X 10.8.1 (12B19) to my old software?

Hi, can I go back from software version OS X 10.8.1 (12B19) to my old software?

    Which version old software?
    Which exact model computer?
Did you make a complete clone backup of your old system before upgrading and are you prepared to have things revert to that?
Usually downgrading operating system requires a complete erase of the computer.  You then clone a previous backup, or completely re-install the operating system and all software plus data files you put somewhere for safekeeping while doing all the other things.  Also some of your data files may have been irrevocably updated to newer versions that will not open on the old system.  Basically, downgrading is not simple unless you prepared for the eventuality in advance.
