Where is my plugins folder ?

I am trying to follow this instruction:
*Copy the ‘Alex4D Move 1.01.fcfcc’ file into*
*Your Startup HD/Users/your name/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Express Support/Plugins for Final Cut Express users*
*Restart Final Cut, and you’ll see the generator in the ‘Animate’ section of ‘Video Generators’*
But after I navigate upto Application Support, I cannot find the Final Cut Express Support folder, so where do I copy my plugins to ?
How come I do not have the Final Cut Express Support folder ?
Thanks

  • Where is my plugins folder on a Suse 11.4 installation

I am having a very difficult time getting java installed in a Suse 11.4 installation of Firefox 5. This is a 64 bit system.
I have used or created a "plugins" folder in the following locations:
    ~/.mozilla/plugins
    ~/.mozilla/firefox/plugins
    /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins
    /usr/lib64/firefox/plugins
into each of these folders I've added a symbolic link to
    /usr/lib64/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so
what is the proper folder into which the plugin link should go?
what is the true plugins folder so that all users of firefox can have a working java plugin?

Frustrating. Today, my JAVA plugin is available and enabled. I haven't changed anything!!!
After I exposed the plugin path, I see that the plugins are installed in a completely unexpected location:
    /usr/lib64/browser-plugins
Is this path set by Mozilla/Firefox? It would be nice if Mozilla/Firefox picked a location and stuck with it.
But still this doesn't answer my question. I know the above path is a TARGET of a symbolic link. But I don't know which of the symbolic links that I created (see my original question) is the one pointing to the above path. I will have to delete them one by one and login/logout (reboot?) in order to determine which symbolic link is the proper one.

  • Where is my PS CS4 Plugin folder?

I was trying to install the complete edition for NIk Software but I was not able to locate the PLUGIN folder , where is that?  From the instruction of software installation I should locate the following:
Macintosh HD: Application:  Adobe Photoshop CS4:  Plugins
In Adobe Bridge CS4 there is a plugin folder but in Adobe Photoshop CS4, there is none.
    Please help!

If the Photoshop-folder in the Applications-folder does not contain a folder named »Plug-ins« You might consider re-installing Photoshop (after making sure al personalized settings like Workspaces, Actions, Brushes, etc. are backed up).

  • Where is the quicktime plugins folder in 10.6.7

I bought a new MacBook Pro running 10.6.7 and updated it from a backup from my old MacBook Time Capsule backup and now a lot of videos won't play in iTunes or Quicktime. I had a search around and people said it was probably because Apple has moved the Quicktime plugins folder. I've had a look, and I have quicktime plugin folders at the following locations:
    HD > Library > Quicktime
    HD > System > Library > Quicktime
    HD > Users > (me) > Library > Quicktime
All of them have various Quicktime plugins in them. Can someone please tell me:
what plugins are installed by default in OS 10.6.7, and
in which folder they should be in so I can move them to the right location?
    Thank you

what plugins are installed by default in OS 10.6.7
In general, all components installed by the OS installation disc which are required for proper OS function are installed in the "~/System/Library/QuickTime" folder. Depending on the type of installation, this may or may not include previous components from older operating systems which may or may not still be functional. As I am not willing to perform a "clean" install to check on the specifics of this question or generate a list of specific components, I cannot go into more detail. QTKirk may have more exacting information regarding this question. (You could, of course, perform a clean install on a secondary internal or external drive to generate this information on your own.)
The "~/Library/QuickTime" folder contains "global" add-on components. This may include components automatically installed by such applications as iMovie, FCP, and/or third-party components installed by the user.
The "~/Users/named_user/Library/QuickTime" folder contains "local" add-on components. The components placed in this area by third-party installers or users are limited to in use to that specific account on multi-account systems.

  • Additional Plugins folder PS CC - make a shortcut to your location

A great start, i have used PS CS5 Extended for years and got the PS CC version last night, despite following the tutorials on Adobe all say to add additional folder as before, that is not an option in PS CC Preferences under edit - to be honest i thought allowing one custom location in the past was stingy (some 3rd party filters install where they want in program files rather than to a main plugins folder then sub folder you specify)
I have seen mentioned by an Adobe Staff member to create a shortcut to your plugins folder, but no instruction as to how (would been the smart thing to post that instruction), so how please do i do this?

    Using Windows 7 Ultimate
I had to select my custom 3rd party plugins main folder and use ........... Send To ..... Desktop (Create Shortcut) then follow instructions
After you complete that, you are faced with the fact its 64bit PS CC only installed by Adobe so you cannot use most plugin filters, try this below .....

Having used Photoshop for a long time, i am surprised at having to do all this, the time wasted searching for how to do so is not funny and all Adobe PS CC manuals or pages instruct to use the extra plugins folder location as per PS CS5, I always rated you as very good before.

  • Plugin folder not there?

Aloha all, So far 1.5 is working fine for me, still a bit slow compared to Lightroom, but seems stable and certainly usable for my needs so far. My question for the more experenced users is: Where the heck is the plugin folder?
I downloaded the Flickr-Aperture Plugin and the instalation instructions are clear and straight forward - Copy the Flickr.ApertureExport bundle to the directory Users/Library/ApplicationSupport/Aperture/Plugins/Export This plugin would be helpful for my needs to give clients a quick look from anywhere.
Herein lies the problem, I don't have a plugins folder for Aperture. Can I create one and place it there? Maybe someone would be kind enough to explain how to do this. More importantly should I have one, and where could I look for it? I've used Spotlight, but an Aperture Plugins folder doesn't show up. I'm a bit confused any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo in advance, JB

Some of the plug-ins have their own installers that create the needed folders and some don't. If you add one that doesn't install the folders, it's perfectly OK to create them yourself as follows:
    username/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export
Put the plug-ins in the Export folder. They'll automatically show up in the Export submenu.

  • Tell firefox where to find plugins

Is there a way to specifically tell Firefox where it plugins are?
OpenSuse 11.4, Firefox 3.6, the flashplayer plugin does not show in the list of plugins so can;t play flash videos. I have downloaded the latest libflashplayer.so and put it in every "plugins" folder that I can find for Firefox or Mozilla and Firefox still can't seem to find it.
Is there and entry I can put in about:config to tell it the specific path to find it's plugins?

Ok, I was not very successful with that question. Anyway, I found the answer. You just have to select the application (one click), then right-click on it to see a menu. Then select "See package content", and another Finder window appears, and you just have to make your way down until you find a folder called 'Plugins'.
Thanks the MacGenius at the Apple store in Walnut Creek for giving me the answer.

  • Where's my plugin??

I downloaded a Boris plugin from the web.
But instead of going to my desktop, it ended up here:
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Final Cut Pro Support > Plugins Folder.
My problem is that I don't see it anywhere inside Final
Cut Pro. It's not in the Effects tab nor the Filters Tab.
Where could it be inside FCP?
or how do I bring it inside FCP?
    Thanks.

the plug ins are BCC4 Cartooner and BCC4 Textured light.
    They are already here:
HD >Library >Application Support > Final Cut Pro Support > Plugins Folder.
Sorry, but I didn't understand what you said about the " Generated Items menu under the Viewer?" if you mean the Video Generators under the Effects tab in the Browser, I looked there, and there are some Boris effects there, but not the two that I downloaded , above.
Actually, taking a CLOSER look at the plugins in "info" in the Plugins Folder,
I see that it says TEXT file and I am unable to open this with FCP. Only a text program will open it. I don't get it.
The plugin icon in the folder looks like a dark gray rectangle, and in the top left corner you see the word "exec"
    thanks

  • Safari Plugins Folder Suddenly Empty

Just figured this one out and thought i would post my solution because i couldn't find it on the forums anywhere. Last week for no reason safari suddenly could not run any plugins. Every site i visited required that i install a plugin. I would install and go back to site and it would give the same error. I checked the installed plugins in safari help and it was empty. I installed some plugins manually via finder opening content folder and copying into internet plugins folder, still nothing showing up.
I ran the disk utility to fix permissions still no good.
Solution: I finally went to Applications/Safari.app and right clicked, then clicked on GetInfo. Here i looked at permissions, unlocked them and added my user account as read/write. Finally success!
I have no idea why this account was dropped by Safari but all works now. I hope this can help someone else.

HI and welcome to Apple Discussions...
In case permissions isn't the issue in the future...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences and select the Security tab.
Make sure: Enable plug-ins is selected.
If that box is already checked, then go here to trouble shoot 3rd party plugins.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1594
Also make sure Safari is not running in Rosetta.
Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle so it faces down. Where you see Open using Rosetta... make sure that is NOT selected.

  • Cannot navigate to Plugins folder to add plugin

I'm running on a brand new MacBook Pro with OS X.
I've added the SmugMug plugin to the 'Plugins' folder inside of Lightroom.
However, when I go to 'add the plugin' inside of Lightroom the 'applications' directory is disabled and this I can't go to 'Show contents' and drill down into the folder structure to reach this plugin or any plugin.
    Help!!

Have you followed the instructions given by SmugMug? You should put them into your Application Support directory, which is in the hidden Library directory. You can go right into the correct directory by going to "Go > Go to Folder":
    And typing in: "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules"
Here are the instructions copied from their website:
Install Lightroom, if you don't have it.
Download the latest version of the plugin HERE.
    Unzip the plugin.
Move the SmugMug.lrplugin to your desired storage location.
    Recommended Locations
    Mac OSX ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules
    Windows 7  C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules
    Windows Vista  C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules
    Windows XP  C:\Documents and Users\username\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules
    Start Lightroom.
    Select 'File > Plug-in Manager'.
    Click the 'Add' button.
Browse to the location where you saved the plugin, and select it.
    Click 'Add Plug-in'.
That's it, the plugin should show that it's 'Installed and Running'.

  • When I try to save a webpage as a bookmark, the options window where I choose the folder where I will save it is disappearing when I try selecting it

    Step 1. I open a web page.
    Step2. I press ctrl+d.
Step3. I do not see the window where I choose the folder I wish the bookmark to be saved in.
Step4. I clicked the star button on the right corner of location bar.
Step5. I see the window now.
Step 6. When I move the cursor down that window to choose the folder it again disappears.

  • What are the basic components in the library plugins folder.

What are the standard plugins in the Library/Plugins folder for Snow Leopard? I'm trying to figure out what I can uninstall and I have no clue.

It probably contains the empty folders Components, HAL, MAS, and VST. (I'm not sure, since my folders do contain stuff.) But none of Apple's standard effects and instruments are sitting there.

  • Where is the extension folder for Adobe Bridge? (Mac)

I am trying to install the output module on Adobe Bridge. I am totally new to Creative Suite and photoshop. I can't find any information on bridge extensions at all. Here's the page I found on installing the output module- http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/install-output-module-bridge-cc.html
I downloaded it but after that is says to copy it into the extension folder. Where is the extension folder? Is it is Bridge? Is it in Finder? Any information on extensions is much appreciated! What exactly are extensions? What is the difference between the extension folder and extension manager?
    Thank you!

At first sight I can' see anything wrong about the correct locations you used.
There was no need to delete all workspaces but that also should do no harm I would think.
You once pointed at the bridge6.plist file but it is not clear to me what you did with it. Personally I would quit Bridge and delete this plist file manually and then restart with again holding down option and use reset preferences.
And you did also use the reset to standard workspaces instead of the reset workspace to only reset the selected workspace. I don't know for sure this will make a difference but it is worth a try.
And while you are in the user library to delete the plist file for Bridge also look in the folder caches in this library.
User / library/caches/adobe/Bridge CC and inhere find and delete both the plug in and cache folder, then restart Bridge.
Finally it might be also worth a try to download CS6, it should not be needed to do so but it was one of the earlier solutions that worked. In your ACC menu click on any app that shows blue and this brings you to the CC website. Choose download center and find PS. Click on the icon and this gives you the detailed download page. Inhere you can change CC to CS6.
Download PS6 it and install it (this also installs the CS6 version of Bridge which was not a separate download in CS6). Then try first start CS6 and start the AOM which is installed by default in this version.
Then when having used this once quit CS6 and try CC (or even combine with restarting your Mac).
Hope this helps, because I'm running out of options
