Where is my Project Assets window?

About a week ago this thing disappeared.    Go to 'Add media' from Files and Folders, and formerly I'd see what I'd chosen in the Project Assets window that would then pop up.  That window no longer exists.  Choosing "Project Assets" highlights the tab (the one called... you guessed it, "Project Assets") but no window appears.
Have tried with photos and movies.  To no avail.  Am not doing anything different.
Version is 11.0

Expert.
Windows 7 64 bit
What the config/prefs file deletion did:
Reverted to "Quick" mode when I restarted program.
Nothing else.  Project Assets still don't show.
A discovery since posing the original question: in some of my old .prel files the Project Assets toggle works normally, and shows me the media I've chosen to work with.   If/when I figure out the difference between those old files in which the PA toggle still works, those old files in which it no longer works, I'll post that here.
IMAGES:
Unsure if these are clear or not - but the first image is of the program without my having chosen "Project Assets."  Here, I've added a *.wav file and a *.jpg.  Yet when I choose "Project Assets," the only change is the 'Project Assets' tab is highlighted (though not in any bright color, maybe 'highlighted' isn't the correct word).  But it does indicate the program understands I'm toggling the Project Assets off and on (which is why I mentioned this in the first place).

  • Project Assets Window Gone

    Hello,
Recently my Project Assets window has completely disappeared, when I click on that section the tab highlights but no window appears.
Here is a screenshot with the window unselected:
Here is a screenshot with the window selected:
As you can see, the program appears to be aware that I have selected the tab, but no window, menu or settings appear beneath.  This has worked properly in the past (3 months ago when I worked on my last project).
Here are what I believe are the relevant specs on my machine:
Adobe Premiere Elements 12.1 - updated with most current updates
Windows 7 Home Premiere 64 bit OS - Also updated with all updates from Windows Update
Video Drivers - NVidia GEO 500, upgraded to the most current version as a troubleshooting step (no luck)
    Troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    1.  Deleted the preferences file as per several posts related to this topic.
    2.  Updating windows, video drivers, and premiere elements to the latest version.  (video drivers needed updates, everything else was already at the most current version)
    2.  Adding content in both Quick and Guided mode, then switched to Expert Mode and selected the tab
    3.  Uninstalled Premiere Elements entirely, then reinstalled.
    4.  Opened old project files where this had worked (now it doesn't)
    5.  Saved project with a new name.
At this point I'm not entirely sure what else to try, any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shawn

Any new developments in trying to get your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Project Assets Palette to open?
If suggestions in post numbered 7 did not advance the cause, then I have two new troubleshooting avenues for your
    consideration
    Thought 1.....
    1. Open a new project, go immediately to Tools Menu/Movie Menus and select the General/Fun disc menu theme. Hit Continue to open to the Movie Menu
Customization area. Look to the right to where you find "Menu Background" and underneath that Video or Still. Browse to and select a jpg for the main menu insert. Click Done to get out of the Movie Menu Customization area.
    2. Click on Project Assets. Does it now open to reveal a copy of the jpg that you just inserted into the General/Fun disc menu theme's main menu?
    Thought 1.....
    1. Open Premiere Elements Expert workspace, click on Organizer Tab at bottom of the workspace to open the Elements Organizer workspace.
2, Then File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manger and create a new catalog.
    3. Go back to the Premiere Elements workspace and determine if Project Assets is now opening and closing as expected.
What may be done here also is to delete the Elements Organizer settings file...In the Elements Organizer workspace, Edit Menu/Preferences/General
and click on Restore Default Settings.
Please let us know the status of Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Project Assets.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot resize project assets window

I am unable to see the files in project assets window. The handle in the lower right corner shows up but when i try to drag the handle nothing happens.

On what operating system is your Premiere Elements 11?
Has the problem persisted even if you start a new project? Is this a "worked before but not now" problem or a "never worked" problem?
What is in the Project Assets area when you attempt to resize it? How many files (videos, what properties including duration, how many; photos, what pixel dimensions, how many)?
If problem remains when starting new project, for starters, try deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file. The route to it in Windows 7 or 8 64 bit is:
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. To see that path, make sure that you have the Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active.
After you reopen Premiere Elements 11 after that deletion is the problem still there?
We will be watching for your results in order to decide what next if necessary.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot see Project Assets Window

When I open certain projects, the Project Assets Window is no longer showing when I click on the arrow that is supposed to open the window. I've re installed twice, run ccleaner, and deleted the prefs file 2 times.  The window only opens on two project files and it no longer shows on new projects.

From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 9 with the 9.0.1 update).
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
    And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Have you viewed the tutorial links at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 page?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?
What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
-If Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

  • How do I sort clips in the Project Assets window by date and time before dragging into the timeline?

I am using Elements 12 and don't seem able to sort clips by time and date (when using clips from different cameras) as we were able to in an earlier version of the program.

    Roger A
I will think about it some more to make sure I am not overlooking anything, but, as far as can be determined, your sorting choices in Project Assets are under Sort by, with only two options:
    a. File Name (ascending)
    b. Duration (ascending)

  • Where is the "Profile" section in Project Property window?

Hi, first time use this Oracle JDeveloper. From the tutorial it seems that inside the Project Property window, the left pane, you have the "Common" section and "Profile" section. Inside "Profile" section it's the "Development", then under Development you have "Paths" "CodeCoach" "Compiler", etc.
My problem is, in that left pane, I only see a "Common" section, I don't even have something called "Profile". This makes it impossible for me to set the class path, because according to the tutorial, I need to change something under "Development" which is under the "Profile".
    Any advice welcomed! Thanks!

"You need to enable J2SE 1.4 Assertions. In jdev this can be done in project properties (Select Tools -> Project Properties -> Profiles -> Development -> Compiler -> Enable J2SE 1.4 Assertions.)"
I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.34.12 on Mac OS X, java version 1.5.0_02-56. How do I enable J2SE1.4 Assertions?

  • No encoding occurs in "Project info" window

Can anyone explain why no encoding seems to occur in the "Project info" window? I have a small project with a single "Asset," a .mov file. To the right under "Encoding" is an empty progress bar region. Even when I save the project as a disc image, there is no activity in this region. Looking at p. 342 of David Pogue's "iMovie '09 & iDVD," the graphic suggests that these assets should be encoded.
    Jim

    Identical Problem.
In addition , the pulldown menu in Advanced, is partly grayed out, "Encode in Background" is grayed out and not active. If I remember correctly this is what allows all assets to be encoded before burning the actual disk. A tell tale sign it is working is when your project file becomes huge on your hard drive.
trying to Burn a disk just goes no where for a long time, then eventually spits out the blank DVD....
Tried DVD+R, then tried DVD-R with no luck on either type of blank disk.
Also, in the Project Info window, the assets are also grayed out, and no progress ever occurs in the Encoding progress bar.
The Project file is fully functional and all the assets are accounted for and working.
    Any help appreciated

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running? I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit for now.

the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives enabled so that you can
    see the complete path cited.
If no success with the above, then...
With video or still in Documents and Premiere Elements opened to the Expert workspace, right click the computer taskbar and select Cascade Windows.
Then drag video or still from Documents into the Premiere Elements Expert workspace Timeline.
    Does Project Assets pop open?
Please review and consider, and then we will decide what next based on the details in your reply.

  • Desktop Project Warnings window not the best help tool

The Desktop Project Warnings window is saying that I need to provide an audio clip but not showing where. Is there a better way to see what's needed?
So is there a log file window or something like that where I can trace the problem?
    Thanks,

In looking over the help, you are correct that the description of ad types fails to specify that Desktop means iTunes Radio. The inverse, however, is well-documented:
Create an ad for iTunes Radio on the desktop
I would strongly recommend you click the "Send feedback" link on the help page to let Apple know that the help text should be clarified.
Regarding the learning curve, have you watched the iAd Producer presentations from WWDC 2013? They were very helpful to me:

  • Premier Element 8 can't open any project on Windows 7

Once again my Premier Element 8 can't open any project on Windows  7 (64-bit).  This  is same problem that happened to me 6 months ago.  I reported it to the online  Adobe support, but got no help.  Eventually I worked around it on my  own.  Now the problem is back and I can not open any project, even after  rebooting.  The behavour that I see is that I can open a new or old  project, but the Premier window shows-up as having zero size.  The bug  has something to do with the Premier program thinking that the window  size should be zero.  The program shows-up in the active task list, and  the Alt-Tab key shows Premier window has only a window title bar (where  as other active programs show-up as a thumbnail image of their window  contents), and the system taskbar also shows the Premier program as active but only as a window title bar (see attached image below)
When  I reported to the online Adobe support forum 6 months ago that I had worked around  the problem, the answer was something like "good that you fix it", BUT Adobe  did not seem to be interested in understanding and fixing the problem.  They just seem relieved when customers can figure-out work-around on  their own.  I see that another peron just reported this same problem on the Adobe forums, and got the same treatment.  He also found a work-around, and the support person replied when "that's nice".  This really bites me where it hurts.  I'm burning  non-productive hours because of their bugs, and they don't care enough  about the bugs to get engineering to fix them.  It's things like this  that make me look for another software vendor.
But today I really do need to work on my video project.  If there is a document work-around for the "Premier show a zero-sized window" bug, PLEASE let me know about it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
    -- Ole Pa

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for looking at this on Saturday, and for your question.  What I mean by a "zero sized window" is that Premier's window has been created and the program is running, but when I give Premier focus nothing is shown on the screen.  I know the program is running because I can see it on the Windows taskbar, in the Alt-Tab list, and in the task manager's list of running programs.  When I use the Windows taskbar to alternately show and hide the window, it behaves normally, except when I show it nothing shows on the screen.  Also, when Premier starts up, I do see it loading the project, but when the project loads the window disappears. Premier has this annoying design of starting with its window maximized, and then automatically resizing the window to what it thinks is the size that I want.  When the bug is active, the size seems to be zero, or minimized, or off the screen, or who knows what.  Just not anything that I can see.  The little thumbnail that Windows 7 shows of running programs on the taskbar makes be think the window has been resized so that it is zero pixels wide and zero pixels high.
In my earlier report of this bug, I described it as "minimizing to the taskbar" because that is what it appeared to doing at that time.  Here is a link to my earlier report:
       http://forums.adobe.com/thread/704857
That thread has screen snapshots that show the visual atrifacts of the bug on Windows 7.  I experienced the same bug again this morning.  The workaround that I had done last year did not work this morning.  Here is what I did to recover this time:
Uninstalled Premier Elements 8.  Deleted my personal setting, and also "smart sound".
    Rebooted my PC.
Installed Premier Element 8 from the CD.
    Rebooted my PC
Things were still not quite right.  In fact the bug appeared to still be there, but all of a sudden it started showing me the window after the project was loaded.  Sigh.  I will never launch that little startup program again (the one behind the desktop icon), and only open ".prel" files directly.  Not sure if that will help or not, but at least it takes one variable out of the startup procedure.
I wish that I could tell you how to reproduce the bug, but in fact I do not know what I do to provoke it.  My PC is
    - Dell XPS9000 (Intel i7, 3.33GHz, 12GB ram, 4.5 TB disk)
    - Windows 7 Ultimate
    - Two 24 inch LCD displays
    - Runs several Adobe programs (like PS, LR, Acrobat).
Don't get me wrong:  I love Adobe software.  You are the best in the graphic arts industry.  That's why I buy and run your stuff.  But when I have a deadline hanging over my head, and I have to spend 1/2 day getting the software to just come up, I get crazy and want to herd feed animals for a living!  Maybe I'll have to do that if the economy does not improve in 2011...
    Thanks, Ole Pa

  • Project Information Window?

How do I open the Project Information window in order to reorganize the memory? Where is the key command to open the project window?

    Additional Info to save time...
In LPX using the default US Key Command Set.... you must assign a key to that Key Command to see the Project Info screen....
LPX Menu Item..... Logic Pro X / Key Commands / Edit....
Next... in the key Command edit window that will open.. search for Project Information...
    ...and then assign a key..
I use the "Learn by Key label" method and then just press the key combo I wish to assign.
The assignment I choose is SHIFT + OPT + CTRL + P  but you can assign whatever you like so long as it's not already used....
In LP9 (Or the LP9 Key Command set if used in LPX)  the default Key Command is CTRL + D
Note: In LPX default US Key Command Set...  CTRL + D is used for another key command.

  • Premiere Elements 11 Project Assets Panel

I've added media from my hard drive, where the file numbers are in numerical order.  However, when the files arrive the Project Assets panel they are no longer in the original numerical order. I've tried the Sort by button but this doesn't arrange them into numerical order. Will somebody offer a solution please?

    Colin of Bishopthorpe
If you have your files in numerical order in a folder on the computer hard drive, you should be able to import that whole folder into Premiere Elements 11 via its Add Media/Files and Folders to get the folder into Project Assets (does not matter Grid or List view).
    From the Grid view perspective...
    a. double click the imported folder now in Project Assets
You will find the folder items ordered numerically
    b. if you want to get those ordered items back into the folder, then click on the icon to the right of the search field in Project Assets. That icon will probably be named "My new video .(name of your project)"
Another approach is to create an album for the items in the Elements Organizer that comes with the program and then import the album from Elements Organizer to Premiere Elements in order to keep your numerical sequence.
Until proven otherwise, clicking on the name header in Project Assets (in List view) will not arrange your items in numerical order if they have become unsorted. If your items show up as 98, 100, 101, 102, 103. all that the name clicking will do is to reverse the order (to 103, 102, 101, 100, 98) and not sort them out.
There are some possibilities in the List view using the folder import approach. More details to follow if necessary, but basically move files out and back into the folder in Project Assets List view to get the necessary ordering. But, I find this an unpreferred detail to follow up on.
Please review and do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions on anything that I have written.
    Thank you.

  • PrE11:  Project Assets box hides part of Preview Monitor

When you select the Adjust or Applied Effects buttons the displayed menus convienently slide the Preview Monitor to the left.  When you select the Project Assets button and the menu drops it partially hides the Preview Monitor.  It can be more or less depending on the adjustable size of the Project Assets menu.  The Preview Monitor does not move out of the way like with the Adjust or Applied Effects menus.

Expanding the time line window will shrink the Preview Monitor enough that it does become 100% viewable.

  • Audio ok in Project Assets but disappears in TimeLine

    Hi
    Am in APE12. OSX Mavericks.
    Importing video from Panasonic HCX920.
    All was good.
Suddenly - exactly the same conditions - new clips have lost their audio when played in the TimeLine.
The audio is there and fine if the clip is played when the clip in the Project Assets area is double-clicked and appears in the small window.
Also in Organizer the new clips are not playing audio when previewed in the big window that opens for them.
Old clips from same source are playing fine.
In Properties I cannot see any discernible difference, but I am a newbie and may be missing something.
    Thanks for your help.
    William

    William
Conforming of audio is very relevant even for "short" clips with audio.
And, when you import your video with its linked audio or just audio for the first time, did you observe a conforming bar at the bottom right of the Expert workspace in action? If so, did you wait for the conforming to go to completion before moving forward in the project?
I would delete whatever you have in the Media Cache Files Folder (if the Mac version has one). I am not targeting hard drive space consideration at this point, rather I would like to rule in or out damaged/corrupt conformed audio files.
Under the circumstances, I do not see that happening easily but...
I checked your Panasonic HCX920 video and audio specifications. From what I read you could be recording Dolby Digital 2 or 5.1 channel. Which one are you using? And, what are you setting as the project preset? Are you recording 1080p or 1080i?
Have you checked in Input/Output settings in Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO? Or the Mac counterpart.
Also, it may be worthwhile to take an in depth look at the properties of the old and the new. The MediaInfo program is the best for that (use Tree View)
    http://mediainfo-mac.en.softonic.com/mac
If you decide to pursue that thought, just be careful with your download and install choices to avoid unwanted downloads in the process.
We will be watching for your progress. Some Premiere Elements Mac users may be by with suggestions specific to Premiere Elements on Mac.
