Where is my 'Recently added' playlist?

Hi all,
i've done a really stupid thing and instead of deleting the contents of 'Recently Added' playlist i have deleted the play list itself.
since this is where all the trcks have been going in, none of the tracks i have added since are in my files, as far as i can find.
i have unin- and re-installed itunes but it does so with this error.
can anybody tell me how to recreate this or else have my new tracks go straight into another list?
cheers,
rebecca

The default playlists are just Smart Playlists and you can recreate them. In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist
Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
Check the box "Live Updating"

  • Delete songs from iTunes library from "recently added" playlist

can you please add a function that removes songs from both the entire library and the recently added playlist by simply right clicking a song while in the "Recently Added" playlist that has the "Delete" function. this is very simple and would make iTunes that much more user friendly.
    thanks!
i have no idea where else to submit suggestions like this, apple people aren't user-friendly enough.

can you please add a function that removes songs from both the entire library and the recently added playlist by simply right clicking a song while in the "Recently Added" playlist that has the "Delete" function
We are only other users, such as yourself.
You can send suggestions to Apple here -> http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
Press *Shift Delete* to delete songs from a playlist and also from the library.
    (from your signature block)
    pc, duh
Not really "duh". I have a pc and it is a Macintosh.
The idea is to put correct info in your signature to help with problems you may be having As an example, if you had problems with your iTunes library disappearing and your signature showed "Sony Vaio", immediately we would know the Sony media software is the problem.
    why do you care

  • How do I create a 'Recently added' playlist on the ipod that only adds the new songs that I add to my library?, How do I create a 'Recently added' playlist on the ipod that only adds the new songs that I add to my library?

I'm trying to recreate the 'Recently Added' playlist that featured in the old ipods (4th gen.?) where it stored the songs you've just added to the ipod and each time you plugged it in it would replace the songs in that list with the new ones you've just added. The 'Smart playlist' at the moment doesn't replace existing songs with new ones except by manual overide. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Best suggestion: Buy some external USB or Firewire drives. Move your Library to one, back it up to another. A lot more reliable than DVD, a lot less work and much more convenient. For a start, you don't have to break up the library...

  • "Recently added" playlist on iPod Touch problem

I don't know what happened but suddenly my recently added playlist on iPod Touch stopped sorting my songs as they were added (by date) they are all random now. It's pretty annoying since sometimes i just want to listen the the previously imported songs and it's impossible to find them.
Now, as for the recently added playlist on my iTunes, they appear sorted the way i like them.
Does anyone know how can I tell my iPod to sort my songs this way?
    Thanks

This is a known bug with the 3.1.x OS. As a workaround, either go into the playlist definition and un-check "Live Updating", or you can add some criteria that intentionally breaks Live Updating (e.g. add the criteria "Playlist Is Music", where "Music" is the general iTunes folder for music items).

  • I Pod Classic Recently Added Playlist

Hi, Accidently I deleted my "Recently Added" playlist folder on my I Tunes page and therefore my I Pod. Can I get a new Recently Added playlist back and have my future Recently Added tracks automatically go into this folder as they did before? Thanks

    Hello Pybo,
Since the *Recently Added* playlist is simply an iTunes *Smart Playlist* you can recreate it and then resync it to your iPod.
    To do this:
Go to *File -> New Smart Playlist*
Then where it says "Selected by", choose "most recently added".
You can also change the limit to how many songs they display or you can choose the number it was before. Then title the playlist if you wish and you should be good to go.

  • Recently Added Playlist having problems?

Couple of weeks ago my music in the 'Recently Added' playlist listed each track in the order they were added to the library. Now all the tracks in the playlist are all over the place, despite the fact that it is a smart playlist. How can i solve this problem? Is there an alternative method instead of adding the date added column in the playlist? I would appreciate it if anyone could help me.
    Thanks in advance.

Click at the top of the Date Added column, and the list will sort by Date Added.
The column where you see a triangle is the one it is currently sorted by.

  • O_o  I deleted my Recently Added Playlist by accident!!

I accidently deleted my Recently Added Palylist and I kind of want it back. How would I go about restoring my Recently Added Playlist...if I can at all?

    Hello lwc_girl26,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I'm assuming you deleted this playlist from iTunes correct? The playlist you deleted is basically a smart playlist, so you can get it back by creating a new smart playlist.
    To do this:
Go to *File -> New Smart Playlist*
Then where it says "Selected by", choose "most recently added".
You can also change the limit to how many songs they display or you can choose the number it was before. Then title the playlist if you wish and you should be good to go.

  • "recently added" playlist does not sync correctly

    Hi,
i have an iPhone 5, ios6 and iTunes 10.7 (all German).
In iTunes i have the smart playlist "recently added". It is sorted by the "last added" field.
    The playlist is setup as:
added within last 2 month, mediatype is music, only marked objects, automatic updates.
The playlist shows the correct titles in iTunes.
When the playlist is synced, the "recently added" list, has a random order.
I also found out - by chance - that i added an other playlist with lots of titles recently. They are organized in an own playlist and do not show up in the recently added list in iTunes.
But after the sync the recently added playlist shows the newly copied titles.
It seems like if the iphone does calculate it's own list and the "recently added" playlist is missinterpreted on the iphone as "titles which where recently copied to the iphone". The "date field" is not used for the playlist, only the date the files was copied.
(Hope i described the problem as good as i can and you understand what i mean)
    Any suggestions?
The same problem was with ios5 and was fixed in 5.x.x - i don't know the exact version.
Will i again have to wait for apple to fix it within the firmware? Why is this error reoccuring ever firmware update????

  • I accidently deleted my "recently added" playlist. how do I get it back?

I'm very new to itunes and having trouble getting the hang of it.
I was trying to clean up some playlist files and was attempting to delete songs I didn't want or need. I hit shift-delete and all of sudden EVERYTHING disappeared. the songs I had purchased... stuff I had recently uploaded... everything.
I went to the recycle bin and hit "restore" in the hopes that things would come back, but no luck.
I was able to search my computer and get the songs I needed back, but it was quite frustrating. in addition, one of the things that disappeared that I wasn't able to retrieve was the "recently added" playlist, which was actually quite helpful to me.
I attempted to upload a new CD to see if it would recreate the "recently added" list, but no luck.
how do I get that back and make sure that future uploads are automatically saved to that playlist?
thanks in advance for any help.

  • Imported music from a CD does add to library, stays in Recently Added playlist

Imported music from a CD does add to library, stays in Recently Added playlist.

Having the same problem. Album imported on CD won´t appear in my music on Itunes! It´s in the Itunes files and in the Recently Added folder, but it won´t appear!
I can play it from the outside file! So frustrating.

  • Imported CD does not show in Library, but it does show in Recently Added playlist

Imported a CD but it does not appear in the Library, althouhg it does show in the Recently Added playlist

I seen a few references to things like this in the forum over the past couple of months but no real solutions.  Maybe it's a small bug affecting a few lucky people, but obviously not widespread or we'd see tons of posts.
I suggest using the right+click reveal in Finder command to reveal the actual files. Delete the entries in iTunes without deleting the actual files, then add the files again by dragging them to iTunes.  Let us know if this works because I'm sure others would like to know.
If it doesn't work, I wonder if there is some characteristic like somethng in the labels that is causing iTunes to not enter these in the library.
Another thing you could try first is restarting iTunes and see if it's just a matter of it not properly refreshing its listing.

  • "Recently added" playlist no longer capturing podcasts

Within the last 10 days, after downloading the newest version of iTunes to my Nano, I found that my "recently added" playlist contained only music tracks. Until the new download, the "recently added" music playlist HAD contained both music and podcasts. Because I do a lot of Nano listening while driving, this was real useful. Before starting the car, I could call up the "recently added" playlist and listen to the freshly added podasts, in order, without having to pick up the Nano and click-click-clisk after listening to each new podcast. What can I do to restore the Nano's old setting that captured podcasts in the "recently added" music playlist? The motoring public and I will thank you.

    Problem solved, or rather dissapeared.
Went on my phone and closed music down. When I reopened it everything was correctly sorted.
    Go figure.

  • Do NOT want Podcasts in "Recently Added" Playlist

Is there anyway possible to make it so Podcasts (voice AND video) are not placed into the "Recently Added" Playlist? I frequent this playlist for new music, but don't want to have to listen to the flip over a podcast everytime.

I had the opposite problem - after creating an iTunes account, podcasts disappeared from the Recently Added playlist. I listen to quite a few and subscribe to many, so having all the new episodes in one place was pretty useful.
By using the suggestion (in reverse) in your solution, the playlist's behavior was restored to its previous (desirable) state.
    Thanks!
