Where is my rental?

I rented a movie in HD on my PC.  When I saw the wait time was over 40 minutes I did other chores.  I returned an hour later and now I can't find the movie anywhere. I looked under movies, and went to store and checked for available downloads. All purchases have been downloaded for this Apple ID.  Where can I find it?

If it's unrated then I wouldn't expect it to be hidden. Does the number in Settings > General > About > Videos indicate that the film is on the iPad ?
You could try closing the Videos app completely and seeing if the film shows after the iPad has restarted : from the home screen (i.e. not with Videos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
In terms of the restrictions code, then have you got an Exchange email account (e.g. a work email account) on the iPad ? If so then it's possible that the account administrator is forcing a restrictions code, so you could try removing the email account and see if the code disappears. Otherwise if you don't know the code then you could try restoring to your last backup - though restoring will remove the film if it's still on the iPad as films (and music and tv shows) aren't included in a backup. But if the code was on the iPad when you last backed up then restoring won't help as it will copy the code back onto the iPad, the only way to then remove it (apart from typing it in) is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad.

  • I just downloaded two rental movies from the iTunes store, proceeded to sync them to my iPad, and now I can't find where they landed. Anybody know where to access rental movies on the iPad? thanks

i just downloaded two rental movies from the iTunes store, proceeded to sync them to my iPad, and now I can't find where they landed. Anybody know where to access rental movies on the iPad? thanks

And just in case .... You don't actually sync rental movies to the iPad....
To transfer a rented movie from iTunes, use the movies pane in iTunes. Rented movies transfer is at the top. You must have an Internet connection to transfer a rented movie. Select the "move" arrow in the direction you wish to transfer, and click the apply button at the bottom right. Rented movies can only exist on one device at a time, they do not sync like other video, but move from iTunes to the iPad.

  • Where is the Rentals tab in iTunes 11?

I'm using iTunes 11 for Windows and just finished downloading 2 movies that I rented.  Now where do I go if I want to watch them on my computer?  Before, in iTunes 10 and below, there was a "Rentals" tab that you click and it shows rented movies.  I've read some posts saying this might be a bug which would be a shame since I downloaded these 2 movies at the same time so that means I lose both of them and my money.  If I'm just missing something and they are still viewable please point out how to access them because now i'm really regretting pressing the "Watch later" button when I was asked to watch now or later after the downloads finished xD

I had a little trouble finding a movie I just rented too.  Don't know about iTunes 11 for Windows, but on the Mac version of 11.0.1 (12) click on your Library button on the upper left and select "Movies".  A line of tab-like words will show to the right, on the center of the screen.  On my interface the tab-words are "Rented", then "Unwatched", then "Movies", "Genres", "Home Videos", and "List".  As soon as I click "Rented" my rented movie shows up and I can watch it by double clicking on it.  Funny enough my rented movie does is not shown when I click on "Unwatched" even though I haven't watched it yet.  I hope this helps.  Cheers! S.

  • HT1657 Where is my rental? Purchased. Downloaded. Can't find.

Recently, I downloaded the latest version of itunes.  And the format is different enough to frustrate me, but that's beside the point.  I rented a movie, and it downloaded.  But, going to play it, I cannot find the Rental tab, in neither the sidebar nor in the header of the Movies tab.  Where is it?

Alright, I was having the same problem and I figured it out. You have to type the name of the movie into the search bar on the upper right of your iTunes library. It will appear there. When you click it, it will take you to a screen saying that you don't have any movies. On the top, beneath the seek bar, click "Rented". It should be there, it was for me. Extremely sloppy execution on Apple's part. The Rentals tab should appear automatically when a rental is downloaded, like it did with iTunes 10. I hope this helps you!

  • HT1657 Where did my rental go?! 8[

My rental (the hunger games)expires in 22 hrs...yet it disappeared from my library and I have no rentals tab in my itunes store..***?!!  Where did it go?  I want my money back.

I found it in my Videos app...geesh!

  • Where did my rental movie go?

Last night I used Apple TV to rent a Movie (through the "Movies" icon at the top menu). I paid $3.99 to rent it and even verified the CSC code on my credit card. Where did the movie download to? I cannot find it anywhere.
I even tried to rent it again, but it told me I had already rented it.

I looked into my iTunes playlist, I looked into the 'recent purchased' section, and it's nowhere to be found. My last option was to start searching the music, podcast, and other tabs to see if it went anywhere else. But of course, it wouldn't show up there. I checked my bank account and my itunes purchase is showing up at the top of the charged list, so that let's me know that the download and charge kicked through. I tell you, I even went back to iTunes to the movie page, and the rental button doesn't show up. It just says 'preview'.
Please help me out. I searched everywhere possible, and I can't find where the movie went to(??) How do we get to the root of the problem? I'm not asking for a refund, since I know the new terms explain it very well that it just won't happen. All I want is to see the movie that I PAID for and it's NOT there.

  • Where has my rental movie gone

    Hi
I rented a movie and it hasn't showed up on my Toshiba laptop. I have rented lots of movies but this is the first time one hasn't shown up on my computer. Can anyone help me find it or find out where it has gone.
    Thanks

Thanks for the tip. As a result I have now discovered that my files were being saved each time. But...saved under the same (old) file name each time. Never under the new (save as) file name. Do you have any clues why this would be?

This is a common misperception of how FCP works, you have confused project files with output files and you have found the autosave vault and confused it with your regular project storage location.

  • HT1657 Where are my rentals?  And is Netflix gone?

I know I must be doing something stupid, but recently, when I rent a movie (that takes 3 hours to download, might I add), I cannot find them on my Apple t.v.   Once I download the rental, am I supposed to put it somewhere else so they show up along with my purchased movies?
As an aside - is Netflix no longer an option?  If so, how did I miss that information?

They belong in the videos app.
    Have you looked there?

  • ITunes 11: Where are the rentals?

I have a rented a film through the iTunes Store and have watched it on my iPad.  I returned the film from the iPad back to iTunes but cannot find it anywhere.
If I search for the name, it then changes the drop-down list on the left to be 'Rentals' (instead of 'Music', 'Films' etc.) but if I click on the icon, 'Rentals' disappears and I get to see the normal list.
Should rentals be in the library list?

I restared iTunes and now rented shows up on the top row before 'Unwatched'.
Should have remembered that a restart fixes most issues ...

  • Where are the rentals?

I upgraded my mac to 7.6, but still see no movie rentals in iTunes. I presume that not every movie is a rental, but is there any way to find which ones are?

Can't find them either. They say there are rentals. The help files and website says there are rentals. There are none. I wasted two hours. Mac should be more responsible and respectful with their annoying whimsical announcements.

  • HT204370 Where is the rental movie saved?

I have an ipad one and just dowmloaded first rental movie through itunes, but cannot find it to play? Also downloaded a tv series several months ago to  own, but cant find that either? not very good on itunes if can help please

They should have downloaded into the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :
If they are not in there then have you got any film and tv programme age ratings set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding them ?

  • Where are my rentals

, updated to the current version.  Rented movie 1, downloaded and watched.  Rented movie to, exited in the middle and expected to go back to it, but neither it nor movie 1 are up in the top left corner with the 'time to watch' remaining time.   Found movie 2 in the list of movies, tried to rent again (hey only.99) and it told me we had already rented 'DUH'    Said to go and check for rentals in the itunes settings (first time having to do that).    Well, 15 minutes later, "check for rentals" just spins.  Whats up apple?   Too big to fail 'eh?

Exact same issue - have never had to retrieve downloads from "settings".
The whole "rent & watch later" is a huge #fail, and just love how there's no way to apparently get a refund/credit for movies...methodically calculated on their part, ,b,ut I digress.

  • HT1657 Where does my rental movie go once it's downloaded?

The movie shows its downloaded but once I go to downloads in my iTunes app it is only showing the terms and conditions link.

Found it in the videos app
