Where is my Ringtones folder?

I have itunes 9 and I don't have a ringtones folder in my library. It is definitely not in the left hand column where I see music, movies, podcasts, etc.
Does anyone know where the ringtones folder went or how I can create it?
I have been trying to create ringtones using the "make ACC" method but have nowhere to put these files!
Thanks!

Thanks, dude.
I also figured out where my ringtones folder went - for anyone seeking the same answer and somehow stumbled upon this thread: http://www.ringtonefeeder.com/faq.html#q1
Cheers!

  • Where is the ringtones folder in Itunes to put an .m4r in?

i have an .m4r file i wish to use as a ringtone but for the life of me I can't find a "ringtones" folder in my iTunes (version 10) to drop it in!
I have been told it is on the left hand side, but it just isn't there.
How do I find this folder?
    Thanks

Did any of that make sense?
    I think so.
A possible cause for splitting up the album is an extra "space" character at the end of the title, which you would not see, or between two words and you just can't notice it. The cure for this is to copy the Album Title from one track and paste it into all the other tracks. Then you know that every track has the same information.
Another cause is guest artists. If the album's artist is Fred X (for example) and therefore each track is listed as "Fred X", but one song has a guest artists and the artist field says "Fred X and his mate", then that track would be separated out from the others. The usual work round for this problem is to put the guest artist at the end of the song title and delete him (and the space after X) from the artist's field.

  • Where is the ringtones folder on iTunes?

I have followed all the steps to make a new ringtone on my macbook pro to then transfer to my iPhone, but I cannot find my ringtones folder in iTunes.

it's a folder called 'tones', if it's not showing on your main page, go to itunes, preferences.

  • Where is the Ringtones folder for iTunes?

I've created some ringtones and now I need to place them in the correct folder so that iTunes will load them.

I don't think the problem lies in the iTunes programme. Try turning off the iPhone then turn it back on and plug it in the computer. If it doesn't work try resetting it. Go to Settings>General>Reset. Choose the option to keep your data and reset it. Plug your iPhone in the computer.

  • Missing Ringtones Folder in iTunes

I have a 3 day old iPhone 4. I'm using the RMaker app to create ringtones. It requires the ringtone to be moved to the 'Ringtones' folder in the Library, but I don't have that folder. I also do not have a Ringtones folder in my iPhone (when it is synced to iTunes)...where is this folder please? Is it possible to create it?
    Many thanks for any advice!

    Go to iTunes > Preferences.
Under the General tab below Show, is Ringtones selected?

  • Missing Ringtones Folder

    Hello Everyone,
This is my first post in the forum. I am trying to use an old midi file as a ringtone for my iphone. I went through the steps to create the m4r file and import it into itunes. But the file only shows up in my library, for that matter I am actually missing the ringtones folder all in all. Which from the tutorials I have read should be showing under the library with music, movies, podcasts etc... I can play the m4r file in itunes and when I check the file type using right click --> get info --> summary it shows as a ringtone.
Any ideas as to where my ringtones folder may be hiding would be appreciated. Or even why when I drag the m4r file onto the iphone device the file does not show in the ringtone preferences.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Go to iTunes > Preferences.
Under the General tab below Show, is Ringtones selected?

  • Moving aac file from music to ringtone folder

Can someone please help me figure out how to transfer a converted .wav file (now in aac format I believe) from my iTunes music folder to my ringtones folder? I've searched every possible area I know to figure it out, but still cannot.
    Thanks,
    S

If there isn't a file explorer app already installed on your phone, you should download one from the Play Store. I personally like ES File Explorer, but I know there are many other ones out there.
Once you have a file explorer installed, you will need to locate the music file you want to move. That might be a challenge unless you know where it was saved. Once located, you will move or copy it to the "ringtones" folder for phone call tones or the "notifications" folder for text and email message notifications.

  • Where to put ringtones?

ok I found where the "stock" ringtones reside on the N9
    /usr/share/sounds/ring-tones/
to paste stuff in here though you need authorization.

    go to
    settings/security/developer mode
    and enable it.
it will have you download and install some files. tap ok.
you should be able to just open the filebox (free download from ovi store) and then go to:
    /home/user/MyDocs
and then tap and hold, select copy on the all the ringtones you want to copy and then tap the up-arrow (bottom left corner) and you will be in /home/user/
    scroll down to .ring-tones
tap it to open the folder
then tap the clipboard and select the ringtones to paste there.
it should be done. you should be able to see it when you go to select the sounds.
i have not used these to do individual ringtones for contacts, but have customized the sounds in:
    settings/sounds and vigbration
for all my rintone, maeil alert tone, message alert tone, calendar alarm tone.
i have been using the same nokia sounds for these since 2004
you could also do the following with terminal
    open terminal
    devel-su (enter)
    rootme (enter)
    cp -R /home/user/MyDocs/(file name.mp3) /home/user/.ring-tones/
you can do that for each different ringtone, just changing the file name.
to make it easier with terminal, if after you enter the first one, just tap the top right corner for the menu, and select toolbar, then arrows.
now just tap the up-arrow and then use the left/right arrows to change the file name and then tap enter again. this should save a bit of time once you are good at it.

  • When I try to save a webpage as a bookmark, the options window where I choose the folder where I will save it is disappearing when I try selecting it

    Step 1. I open a web page.
    Step2. I press ctrl+d.
Step3. I do not see the window where I choose the folder I wish the bookmark to be saved in.
Step4. I clicked the star button on the right corner of location bar.
Step5. I see the window now.
Step 6. When I move the cursor down that window to choose the folder it again disappears.
Step 7. I randomly click at a spot in the area where the window disappeared.
Step 8. I realize that it does not go away but stays hidden disappearing.[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV050BObT9I]

I have a verizon IPhone and i can't figure out how to get my ringtones from the app to iTunes, my account doesn't have a ringtone section in the liRingtone Folder?brary, how do you enable the ringtone folder?

Edit > Preferences.  Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.
Not sure that really answers your question though.

  • I deleted my ringtones folder in the library of itunes how do I get it back?

I deleted the ringtones folder in my itunes library as it didn't work how do I get it back? I have tried to get help on the web. someone said I need to go to preferences under the genearl settings on itunes and they had a picture of the window that it appears in ......it doesn't look like anything I have ever seen, maybe that is what you see with an iphone 4 I only have a 3Gs. Can anyone shed some light on the subject please? Thank you

Ringtones have become Tones. Use the menu Edit > Preferences...Select the General tab and put a tick next to Tones. As to any files you deleted, recover them from your backup.

  • When i connect my iphone to itunes, the ringtones folder has disappeared..How do i get it back

when i connect my iphone to itunes, on the left hand side when my device shows up..i click the down arrow and the ringtones folder is not there....so i cant add custom ring tones...how do i get it back?

Apparently it does need to be restored because that is what it is requesting. You will need to restore it as New or from a recent backup if you made one.
