Where is my Safari

I just bought a new iphone 5. After using itunes backup my phone disabled Safari. When I checked settings my restictions was turned on. Its asking for a password to disable. I never set this up and don't have a password.

Either you or someone with physical access to the phone had to set the restrictions passcode. It can not set itself.
If you don't know what it is, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode and restore it as new. Do NOT restore your backup. The backup contains the restrictions settings.

  • Where is the Safari icon located.

I have found a bunch of custom icons for OSX on line and have started using them. I replaced the trash can empty and full, some of the icons in the finder sidebar etc. through system/library/coreservices. I backed up to original folders and corrected disk permissions afterward. Everything is working fine. But I can't find all of the icons I would like to replace.
Where is the safari icon for example? I looked in dock, finder and coretypes bundle. I can't seem to locate it. Can anyone help?

    Hi Jason,
When it comes to changing icons in the system or in applications, the possibility of creating some system problem jumps. As an alternative, I use CandyBar, which simplifies this process immensely.

  • I am hoping to view a video clip, but I need to download Flip4mac onto my Safari browser. I cannot see where I access safari preferences on ipad to do this. Any help please - thanks Douglas

I need to download a video clip called Flip4mac onto my Safari browser, which will then enable me to view it. I cannot see where I access safari preferences on my ipad to do this.
Any help please - thanks Douglas

The video may be a Flash video. Adobe has not made, and will not make, Flash for mobile devices including the iPad. So you may not ever be able to view the video.

  • Where to get Safari for Mac OS X (10.5.4)?

I need to get a version of Safari at least 4.0.3 or higher that is compatible with Mac OS X, version 10.5.4 to access my iTunes store and update my iPod. Does anyone know where I can get one, because I can only find ones for Leopard and Tiger. Thanks!

In fact you need to update to OS 10.5.8 from:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
and then update Safari to.5.0.1 from:
Safari 5.0.1 for Leopard (and Snow Leopard) can be downloaded from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1070
Make sure you download the correct version for your system.
I can only find ones for Leopard and Tiger.
FYI, your 10.5.4 IS Leopard, just an older version.

  • Where to download safari

    Hi
I was advised on here, when I had a safari problem, to uninstall it then download again from here
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
    And then reinstall.
However the above link, which is the only one I can find on apple site, provides a package that will only install on Leopard. I'm running Snow leopard and thus I can't install safari. Can someone point me to the right download link for a link that can be installed on snow leopard.
    Sam

    HI Sam,
The only way on 10.6 to reinstall Safari is from the Snow Leopard disk.
Insert the disk in your Mac. When the window opens, double click the Optional Installs folder, then open the Optional Installs.mpkg file.
Follow the installer instructions. When you get down to: Installation Type, in the window on the right, click the disclosure triangle where you see "Applications". Select "Safari" and click Continue.
Repair disk permissions when you are finished with the installation.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Where is new safari 5 update apple?

I have tried all of the fixes for safari 5 not opening pages and none are working.
Apple must know by now that we need an update and hopefully it will come soon.
I have thrown away plists, cache files, I dont have the third party things, reset safari, repaired permissions.
still pages do not load, sometimes a reload will work and other times it will not.
Are there anyother ideas out there?

Adding DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2296
If your computer is part of a network: please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/bestpractices/#yournetwork and follow the advice given.
You could also try these codes as well: 4.2.2.1 & 4.2.2.2

  • HT4623 Where is the Safari Privacy button located? It's not within the Settings/Safari cluster.

Having downloaded the new IOS software, I now cannot access my BT Yahoo e-mail "in box". It prompts me to disable the Safari settings Privacy button.  Where is  it please!!!

^ No, I don't think that's what the OP is asking.
With Safari open, tap on the "pages" icon in the lower-right corner, then at the bottom of your screen you'll see the "Private" option which used to be in Settings.

  • Where is the safari private browsing setting

    ~/Library/Safari
in the text box that opens. A Finder window will open. Enter Time Machine and restore the file named "Bookmarks.plist" in that window.

  • Where is the Safari 5.1.9 browsing history file located?

Does anyone know where the user brower history file is located and a free program to decode and read it?  I have a friend that is using my mac to look things up on the internet, and I think he is browing **** on my mac.  Any advice would be greatly apprecaited.  Thanks in advance.

    andyc9678,
You can try going to your home folder>Library>Caches>metadata>safari, there you can highlight the enteries and in the right column in column view you can get an idea of what the sight is. If double click it will take you to the sight. Also you can check bookmarks there as well, to ee if that tells you anything as well.

  • Where did my safari icon go?

Until yesterday I had four icons on the bottom section of my iPhone (phone, email, safari and music). Last night the phone icon is gone. Where do I find it?

    Was it accidently moved?
Check on another page or in folders.
Does it show when you do a Spotlight search (swipe down from the center of the screen)?
Check your Restrictios: Settings > General > Restrictions
Quit all apps (Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up) and Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

  • Where to download Safari for Iphone?

For some reason my Iphone doesn't have Safari!!!
Where can I download it, I've looked everywhere.
Really sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm pulling out my hair!!!
    Thx in advance

Maybe you have hid the icon.
In settings you can restore the default icons.
    From the manual Page 149
    Resetting iPhone
Reset all settings:   Choose General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information, such as your contacts and calendars, and media, such as your songs and videos, aren’t deleted.
Erase all content and settings: Connect iPhone to your computer or a power adapter. Choose General > Reset and tap “Erase All Content and Settings.”
This resets all settings to their defaults and erases all your information and media:
    • On iPhone 3GS: by removing the encryption key to the data (which is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption)
    • On iPhone and iPhone 3G: by overwriting the data
Important:  You can’t use iPhone while data is being overwritten. This can take up to two hours or more, depending on the model and storage capacity of your iPhone.
(On iPhone 3GS, the removal of the encryption key is immediate.)
Reset network settings: Choose General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.
When you reset network settings, your list of previously used networks and VPN settings not installed by a configuration profile are removed. Wi-Fi is turned off and then back on, disconnecting you from any network you’re on. The Wi-Fi and “Ask to Join Networks” settings are left turned on.
To remove VPN settings installed by a configuration profile, choose Settings > General > Profile, then select the profile and tap Remove.
Reset the keyboard dictionary: Choose General > Reset and tap Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
You add words to the keyboard dictionary by rejecting words iPhone suggests as you type. Tap a word to reject the correction and add the word to the keyboard dictionary. Resetting the keyboard dictionary erases all words you’ve added.
Reset the Home screen layout: Choose General > Reset and tap Reset Home Screen Layout.
Reset the location warnings: Choose General > Reset and tap Reset Location Warnings.
Or you can search the phone for Safari and see if it shows up.
    From the manual Page 37
    Searching
You can search many applications on iPhone, including Mail, Calendar, iPod, Notes, and Contacts. You can search an individual application, or search all the applications at once using Spotlight.
Go to Spotlight:   From the main page of the Home screen, flick left to right.
If you’re on the main Home screen page, you can press the Home button to go to Spotlight. From the Spotlight page, press the Home button to return to the main Home screen page. You can also set iPhone to go to Spotlight when you double-click the Home button. See “Home” on page 147.
Search iPhone: On the Spotlight page, enter text in the Search field. Search results appear automatically as you type. Tap Search to dismiss the keyboard and see more of the results.
Icons to the left of the search results let you know which application the results are from. Tap an item in the results list to open it.
    Application
    What’s searched
    Contacts
    First, last, and company names
    Mail
To, From, and Subject fields of all accounts (the text of messages isn’t searched)
    Calendar
Event titles, invitees, and locations (notes aren’t searched)
    iPod
Music (names of songs, artists, and albums) and the titles of podcasts, video, and audiobooks
    Notes
    Text of notes
Spotlight also searches the names of the native and installed applications on iPhone, so if you have a lot of applications you may want to use Spotlight as a way to locate and open applications.
Open applications from Spotlight: Enter the application name, then tap to open the application directly from the search results.
Use the Search Results settings to choose which applications are searched and the order in which they’re searched. See “Home” on page 147.
I do not think you can delete the programs that come from the factory.
