Where is my signature from Mail/Preview Markup stored?
I just found out about adding my signature to documents in Mail and Preview (way cool!) and was wondering where the digital file of my signature is stored.
I was really impressed by the quality of the signature and now I'd like to use it in other places as well
I'm using a 2013 MB Air with 10.10.1 installed.
Anyone have any guidance?
The usual location for iTunes media is indeed <User's Music>\iTunes\iTunes Media however you can set up iTunes so that you can add in media stored in other locations such as an external drive. Check the setting under Edit > Preferenecs > Advanced for the location of the media folder in case you changed it at some point. You can see the location of any individual file by right clicking on it and clicking Show in Windows Explorer.

Where are the notes from Mail now?
What happened to my NOTES from Mail when I upgraded to Maverick OS X? and is Maverick really an upgrade?
They're in a separate application called Notes. Similarly, calendar to-dos are in a separate application called Reminders. Both are able to sync with the equivalent Notes and Reminders on an iOS device.

Where can I find a mail that's stored in quarantine?
We have a user that doesn't get all the mail he should. I turned on forwarding all mails that Spam Assasin gets, and soon one of the mails got caught there!
So, I got the message:
"The message has been quarantined as:
spam-5ed7458e42ce8e31a18299f33ee85b12-20111219-235053-20971-09.gz"
Where can I find this mail?
Tia!In Finder? Finder's an app that doesn't have any folders. When trying Spotlight, expand the search criteria to include System files, and try again.

Firmware 2.2.1 - Saving images from Mail
The release notes from the iPod 2.2.1 update stated it "Fixed issue where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in Saved Photos"
This does not seem to be the case at all. Large photos saved from both Mail and Safari show up blurry within the iPod photo viewer (they are in fact fine when viewed from within Windows XP)
Anyone else experiencing no improvement here?Yes my pron collection is still blurry. And the update seems to have introduced a bug where safari stops responding to the touch screen in some situations.

Hot to migrate mail and settings from Mail 2.1.3 to Mail 3.5??
I'm migrating everything from a mac G4 running 10.4.11 to a Mac Pro running 10.5.6 - address book, calendar etc was find but I am having problems with Mail.
I want to import the emails, email accounts and other settings if possible such as rules and signatures from Mail 2.1.3 on the G4 into Mail 3.5 on the Mac Pro. I've looked through various postings/articles but are not 100% sure on how it is done? I've had a few botched goes but it inevitably ends up with missing folders, missing email etc
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
PhilThanks for the suggestion Debbi. After my previous message I was looking at the post 'Mail does not quit or show old messages after 10.4-10.5 migration' and tried the solution suggested there as copied below. Glad to say that it worked.
1. Navigate to your Library folder inside your home folder.
2. Locate the Mail folder and drag it to your desktop.
3. Launch the Mail application.
4. Mail will now ask you if you want import your messages. DO NOT HIT CONTINUE YET.
5. Navigate back to your Library folder inside your home folder. Notice there is a NEW mail folder that was created. You cannot delete this folder yet because it is in use by mail so we will just rename this folder Mail2.
6. Drag your OLD mail folder located on your desktop to your Library folder located in your home folder.
7. Go back to the Mail application and click continue. Your messages and settings should import fine now.
8. Verify that your messages and settings imported correctly and quit Mail. Navigate back to your home Library folder located in your home folder and delete the Mail2 folder.
9. Launch the Mail application again and make sure everything functions correctly. -
I have a Canon 7055 Image Runner with an Image Pass A1. I can't print from Mail, Preview, and TextEdit . . . All three applicationscrash and a "Problem Report" is generated.
Microsoft and Adobe applications seem to have no issues with printing . . . just Apple applications.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this?
I'm on Mountain Lion - perhaps incompatible?
This seems to be a Fiery Features plug-in, but I'm uncertain.
Thanks for any help with this. Thanks John . . . It was after I posted this question that I discovered similar posts, unsure why my search didn't reveal similar!
The discussion you linked me to does apply to my root issue! (Although my plug-in differs) - sounds like a Canon or Fiery Feature plug-in issue. My work around temporarily is to install a second printer using the generic postscript driver - this allows me to print emails. In the long run this isn't a solution because the generic driver is somewhat limited . . . still, it gets the job done for printing items from Mail, TextEdit, and Preview

HT2506 Where are signatures created in Preview stored?
Where are signatures created in Preview stored?
The Preview signature file is a .plist file found in the User Library>Containers>com.apple.Preview>Data>Library>Preferences.
If you want to move a signature from one computer to another there is a very useful guide at:
http://www.stuartcarnie.com/2011/08/transferring-preview-app-signatures-in.html
In Stu's guide you can see that the file is encrypted in the Mac Keychain so you have to do some manipulation to copy the signatures. -
I receive numerous messages in "Bulk Mail". Where do they come from and how can I prevent them from being received? Thanks
Once you're on a spammer's list, there's nothing you can do to stop the flood of e-mail messages. You can either control it, using spam filtering (which is what files those messages in the Junk Mail folder), or you can throw out your e-mail address and get a new one.
It's sad, but spam is simply a fact of life at this point, and there's nothing to be done about it. Legislation has been tried, with zero success, since most spam either comes from countries with no legislation or from personal computers that have been infected with malware and are part of a "botnet." -
Hi!
I've just migrated my old system (PowerMac G5 running 10.5) to a new MacBook Air (11'' Mid 2013) using the migration assistant. I've had problems with crashing applications (as far as I can see only Apple software has been affected: Mail, Preview, Contacts, TextEdit) since I've completed the migration.
I've already done the following: reinstalled 10.9.1 update, repaired permissions and checked volume through recovery. Reset SMC, PRAM and done a safe boot. Rebuilt the Spotlight index. Nothing has helped thus far.
Console is flooded with the following, repeated messages:

I guess that migration assistant moved something over that interferes with the new systems. Do you have any ideas what to do? My next step would be to reinstall the system from recovery. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!Solved. Threw away the only Imap-Account (Folder [email protected]) and it worked;

How do i change the mail preview in Lion from a vertical read to a horizontal read
I just switched from Snow leopard to Lion and i don't like the way that Lion has the mail preview set up as a 3 column vertical format. I thought in Snow Leopard you could change the set-up so it's either horizontal or vertical, but I can't seem to find that option in Lion. I want to have the list of my email messages in the top, horizontal window and the preview of the selected message in a horizontal window below. Am I missing this option to change the view format from vertical to horizontal somewhere?
Thank you this solved my problem also... i feel like a duffus for not figuring it out onmy own but who cares I can now get back to work instead of focalising on this... YEAH !

Inserting signature in Mail form from outgoing email
Hi,
I'm trying to send outbound email from service request in SAP CRM. When I select send mail the mail form is displayed. We have option to attach the document, priority and sensistvity. Along with this we also have option to save signature. Once I save the signature how to insert the signature into mail form so that I can send the signature with the mail form.
Thanks
Vinod@Nancy O.
Thanks for your support i appreciate it that you helped me out a many times.
However i have read all of the topics you posted.
I know in the mail form i can disable the "sort of Captcha". I wanted to disable it and insert reCaptcha instead.
I will re-make the form because like you said (and i already figured it out myself) ;
"b) Don't modify forms until you get a very basic form working on your server."
And youre right, im taking too much work at once.
@CowboyInAZ
Im a hobbyist that learns really really fast.
Before March 23 i never used CSS, Javascript and XHTML. And never combined them all together with PHP. (never ever created a php based file from scratch)
The reason why i use other persons code is because i learn faster with examples, and because i dont need to reinvent the wheel if someone already invented it. The only thing i do with it is learn the workings, customise it and at last, rewrite the code when i understand it.
If you look at my current site: http://www.wientjesvoegwerk.nl/
You will notice that the site is validated by W3C with no errors and warnings.
I think it was Nancy O. that gave me the link to the validator. Thats how i discovered the service.
You need to know that in 1 day (from 63 errors and 12 warnings) i removed all errors. And i didnt knew much about it, and why errors happend while the site looks fine.
So im just curious how things work and thats why i "steal" codes and adjust them to learn myself.
I also want a education like you spoke of, but im interested in a different media.
I want to be abled to create my dream project wich involves new ways for game studios to earn money.
This is just a simple start, im also taking tutorials in C#, C++. -
Can't print from Mail, TextEdit, or Preview in Snow Leopard
Installed Snow Leopard on a new Mac Mini with a newly formatted drive. Successfully set up network HP printers using IP Printing option. Able to print to these printer from all installed applications EXCEPT TextEdit, Preview, and Mail. Print dialog never displays at all after selecting "print" in Mail. Print dialog window does display for TexEdit and Preview but clicking "print" in the dialog window all the options blank out and can't cancel or close the print dialog window without quitting app.
However, when we take this same mini to a different physical location on a different network, printing works normally in all apps. We are guessing that Appletalk has something to do with this. The problem network uses a Cisco 3600 router. We disabled Appletalk in the configuration but that had no effect.Nothing shows up in CUPS error log to trying to print from Mail. Pasted below is consistent message we get in Console when attempting to print from Mail.
Today, inexplicably, we can print from Preview and TextEdit.

Is it possible to use Preview signatures in Mail?
I've been having a lot of fun with Preview's signature scanner, and was wondering if it's at all possible to make this kind of signature a default signature in Mail.

Now that Pages has dropped mail merge where do I go from here?
I think you needed to have pages '09 in it's own folder (usually named iWork '09) when you upgraded to Pages 5.0. Luckily I had. Then the easiest way to edit a document in Pages '09 is to right-click (CTRL Click) it in the finder or on the desktop and select Pges '09 from the context menu.
Another reason why you'll need Pages 09 is if you need to edit a document created in a version of pages before '09. These won't open in Pages 5.0. (Yes, really. It's almost unbelievable) You have to open them in '09 and then save them. This saves them in Pages '09 format, which can be opend in Pages 5.0.
Apple makes everything easy for us EXCEPT when we upgrade our OS, or iWork apps!
