Where is my site folder

hi friends, im trying to add a statcounter with icomment but i need to know where my site folder is...can somebody tell me where this is at, thanks

If you've published to .Mac it's on your iDisk. The full path is iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/SiteName — if you have more than one site, you'll see separate folders for each site; select the appropriate one.
Do you have a high-speed, always-on connection to the internet? If so, your best bet to simplify access to your iDisk is to mount it on your Desktop using Go > iDisk > My iDisk in the Finder menu. Then you can navigate directly to the iDisk folder when iComment asks for directions.

Where is the Sites folder in Mavericks? Only now I am realizing that I don't have a Sites folder where it used to be: Go/Home/Sites
My local website folder used to be in the Sites folder. I am having website-synchronizing problems.
I just started using Mavericks (on one of my hard drives) regularly.

It is part of mail but if missing you could go to the top and pick mailbox and pick new and name that Junk.

  • Sites Folder in Leopard

One day i was surfing through some settings and i found the "web Sharing" option, turned it on, and it said "Web Sharing allows users of other computers to view Web pages in the sites folders on this computer." Now, where is that "sites" Folder? and how do I work this feature in Leopard.
I you have any advice or helpful answers
    Thank you in advance.

    fenderbenderr45,
Turning "Personal Web Sharing" on or off toggles the installed Apache Web Server, and opens the appropriate port (80).
Apache, as it is configured by default in OS X, serves at least two "web directories." The first one is /Library/WebServer/Documents. Anything placed in this folder will be served to the internet when Web Sharing is turned on.
In addition to the "main" web directory, each user has a personal web directory: their "Sites" folder (/Users/HOME/Sites), and it is analogous to the "Documents" folder in the main web directory.
Assuming that Web Sharing is turned on, and your machine is connected to the internet, anyone across the internet can navigate to and read/download anything in the "main" web directory by entering your public IP address (formatted as "http://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx") in their web browser. To navigate to a personal web directory, they must enter "http://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx/~username," where "username" is the user's short name. When Personal Web Sharing is turned on, this information is displayed in the Sharing pane (if you are behind a router, with a private IP address, only the private IP address is shown, and it will not be accessible from "outside" your network).
If you are behind a router, you must configure the router to forward http (port 80) requests to your private IP address.
There are certain standards to follow when creating a "web site." An index page, written in HTML and titled "Index.html," will be the first page anyone sees when navigating to your site. If no index page is present, however, Apache is smart enough to dynamically create a basic text-only index page listing whatever files or folders you have in your "Sites" folder (or the main web directory). Your site can be as basic or as elaborate as you have the resources and knowledge to create.

  • Using environment variable in local site folder filespec

Configuration: Dreamweaver CC 2014.1; Windows 7
I have quite a few sites defined in Dreamweaver and would like to define the folder locations using environment variables so thst if I decide to reorganize my disk (again) I can just redefine the variable instead of having to modify each of the site definitions. For example, instead of W:\dw\site\, I would like to specify %dw_root%\dw\site\ (where dw_root is defined as "W:"
Attempting to save a configuration with this filespec fails with the error: The local site folder path must be absolute.
I copied the path from the DW configuration dialog box and pasted it into a DOS window as the filespec of a DIR command to confirm the syntax was valid.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make this work?
    Thanks.

Very unlikely.  DW won't tolerate special characters (%&*~).

  • Damaged domain in sites folder

Created web site and published to site folder on local machine then uploaded to web site.
Local "domain" in the site folder where iWeb saves some how got corrupted.
Downloaded web site thinking I could rebuild it using iWeb.
    Not so lucky.
Is there a way to save the download web site so that iWeb will open it?

iWeb cannot import or read html files, only create them. You'll have to rebuild the site from scratch. However, Chapter 2.3 of the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the published files in the reconstruction of the site.
Do you still have the problem domain file? If so what was the problem?

  • Where to locate Connections folder?

    Hi,
I've noticed that DW places the Connection folder in the site
    root which
seems to me to be a very bad place for security reasons. So
    my question
is, where is best place to put the Connection folder for a
    site, and how
do you do that from within DW when all site files are within
    the site
folder? Also, if you move the Connections folder somewhere
    above the
www folder, how will DW handle the path?
    TIA

    Hi Brett,
I agree that there are nasty hackers out there looking for
    ways in to
get sensitive data, but there are also millions of potential
    websites
for them to hack, and they normally pick ones where they have
    something
to gain. If your site has data that is critically sensitive,
    then you
need to be getting a security expert to certify your code,
    and if that
was the case, I wouldn't think Dreamweaver would be the tool
    of choice
    to create the code.
Macromedia responded to sql injection security alerts when
    they were
identified, there was a major change in all the recordset
    code and
behaviours, and this was in 8.02, so they took if very
    seriously, if
there was a serious flaw in the way connection folders are
    used, don't
you think that would have been addressed by now?
One thing I always forget to do is remove the scripts folder
    from my
live site after making tweaks to pages, as that folder is one
    that
contains code that will leave your site open to abuse. It
    under the site
menu, then advanced, and is called remove connection scripts.
    This isn't
the connections folder, its the _mmServerScripts folder, its
    copied to
the server each time you open a recordset, so you need to
    remove it once
    your done.
The advice from Adobe is to not copy them onto a live site,
    but its easy
to forget that the folder is there after you have made a
    quick change
that involves a recordset or server behaviour. Here is some
    more

  • Where is my 'website folder'?

Just created my first site in iWeb and in an effort to get my site to load quicker I have downloaded 'Webcrusher'.
It is asking me to drag my website folder to a window.
    Where can I find this?
    thanks
    Pete

Open Transmit and click on Favorites in the right hand pane. Then select "+" at the bottom of the right hand pane to bring up a new favorite. There you'll enter the following information:
1 - change Untitled favorite to whatever you want. I use Web/Sites as that's the folder on the iDisk.
    2 - Protocol = WebDAV
    3 - Server = idisk.me.com
    4 - User Name = your username
    5 - Password = your password
    6 - Port = 80
    7 - Remote Path = /your username/Web/Sites/your Web Site's folder
8 - Local Path = the file path to your web site folder which you're publishing locally.
Then save. You can set that favorite to open when you open Transit. Then all you need to do is click on the Sync button at the top and set the rules for uploading. Click on the right arrow to upload files. Set the Modification Date as the criteria for uploading. I'd also check the Delete orphaned destination files so you don't leave unneeded files on your iDisk.
Or your can sort by date and upload those files with today's date.

  • Can't serve Sites folder

During an upgrade of PHP, I seemed to have "corrupted" my Apache installation. I can serve from the /Library/WebServer/Documents folder by typing http://localhost into my web browser, but I cannot serve from my Sites folder by typing http://localhost/~adwatson/index.html (or /phpMyAdmin or any of my other local sites with the http://localhost/~adwatson prefix). My guess is that something got altered in the httpd.conf file, but I'm not sure where to start.
    Thanks in advance.
    Tony

Ok, I'm getting closer to figuring this out with all of your help. I had previously installed Apache 2.2.4, but then learned this was a bad idea because future OS X upgrades could cause serious problems if anything but the Apple-installed version of Apache were present. So I "mv apachectl apachectl-2.2.4" in the appropriate directory and "mv apachectl-1.3 apachectl" in the appropriate directory to restore my original installation....or so I thought. I checked the error log as suggested by Gnarlodious and found entries up until the date of my upgrade and none since supposedly reverting to 1.3. I then checked the console, and sure enough, I'm still run 2.2.4. Therefore, I've been looking at the wrong httpd.conf file this whole time. Needless to say, the default Darwin install layout did not give the Apple-sanctioned installation.
So, how do I completely uninstall 2.2.4 so I can be rid of this problem? I want no part of 2.2.4.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • Publishing to Site folder

I have noticed that OSX has a site folder where people can connect to view a webpage you create, is there instructions on how to publish your iWeb website to the sites folder in OSX?

I'm no expert in the area of routers and firewalls, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you can't connect with another machine. I don't know if the machine is inside or outside your local network.
I have kind of a crazy setup because I have a Verizon DSL modem/router that is connected to an Airport Express unit (I have the Airport Express so I can stream music to my stereo). For whatever reason, INSIDE my local network, I have to view my website using http://192.xxx.x.xx/~shortname/index.html. However, connecting with a machine outside my network, I use
    http://publicipaddress/~shortname/index.html.
One other thing: Again, for whatever reason, port forwarding of port 80 from my airport express to my server Mac didn't seem to work for the outside world, so I enabled "Default Host Option" in airport express to open ALL ports to my server Mac. This way, I control port access with the firewall on my server Mac, not with the airport express firewall. Therefore, if I have port 80 open on my server Mac, then people from the outside world can see my website.
I wonder if your router has the equivalent of "Default Host Option" so you can control the port access on your server Mac. You might try to port forward all ports from the router if that is possible.
Sorry to ramble on, just throwing out ideas for you to try. By the way, I finally got my copy of iWeb, and instead of index.html, iWeb uses Welcome.html (at least for the template I used)
    http://solid.servebeer.com/~imacg5/site/Welcome.html

  • Enabling user Sites folder

I would like to enable the "old style" http://my.server.org/~username configuration so users can share the contents of their Sites folder in OS X Mavericks server.
So far I have succeeded in getting it to work for Open Directory users by editing /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/httpd_server_app.conf and uncommenting these two lines:
    Include /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-userdir.conf
    and
    LoadModule apple_userdir_module ${SERVER_INSTALL_PATH_PREFIX}/usr/libexec/apache2/mod_userdir_apple.so
Once I did that Local Network Users' (Open Directory Users) sites are accessible at http://my.server.org/~username but sites of Active Directory users are not.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Using your text editor, create a new document. Type following text
    <Directory "/Users/username/Sites/">
    Options Indexes MultiViews
    AllowOverride None
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    </Directory>
where you replace username by your username. Save it as a text document on your Desktop with name username.conf
Go to Finder, select Go menu, Go to folder item. Type /etc/apache2/users. A Finder window will open. Drag your username.conf file from the Desktop to this folder.
    Authenticate when ask.
    That's all.
You probably (not sure) will have to stop and start Web sharing (in Preferences) to access your personal site
    http://servername_oraddress/~username/
    Hope this helps.

  • Where's my site?

I have tried to upload my site using ftp, but nothing is

When I click on the link, I get the Apache server success
    page. So your
server is set up. Where did you put your files? Unless you
    changed the
path, you're looking for the htdocs directory .. which is
    usually C:/Program
Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/ and your site folder should
    be in there.
Make sure your home page is named index.php or index.html or
    whatever kind
of page it is in the site folder.

  • Where is my Site FTP Info

Hello, I have recently upgraded from Dreamweaver 8 to
Dreamweaver CS3 and now when I use the program i can see all my
site files etc. but all the site FTP information is gone.....when I
click on the Site Manager it is completely blank as if no sites
    ever existed.
I probably have all my login information around here
somewhere but with over 20 sites I really do not want to be typing
    this in again.
Where is my site info? Can I get it back? Grrrrrr, I hate
upgrading my apps for exactly this reason :(

What operating system? these two installs are on the same
    box?
Is dw 8 still installed? And the sites are visible in dw 8?
Then open dw 8, go to dw menu->Site->Manage Sites
Select a site from the list and click EXPORT.
    Save the .ste file.
Rinse/Lather/Repeat for the 19 other site defs.
Save them all to one folder.
    Open CS3 dw.
    Dw menu->Site->Manage Sites
    Click import
Use the browse button to select one of these .ste files.
Dw CS3 will import all .ste files in that folder in one step
