Where is my Windows 7 software!

I have a new k330 and just installed the admin. password. When I type it in the screen hangs up on Welcome and then says it is invalid. Either I made a type twice when setting it up (the keyboard is a little sticky) or there is something else wrong. The help guides say I have to reinstall Windows 7, but the only disk I got with the computer says "drivers". I do not have a recover disk. My last system ran on XP and I had the XP disk, so I didn't think I needed one.
Where is my Windows 7 software? Why didn't it come with my computer if I have a legal copy?

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.

Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.

This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.

Maybe because it's not a 'genuine' retail version? Many OEM versions just don't work - and I've no idea which flavor of Win7 your friend downloaded. Obviously one that Boot Camp doesn't recognize. Best to just pony up the cash for a full retail version, of some flavor - and use it. You COULD, of course, download the 14-day trial version of Parallels Desktop and see if you can install Win7 as a virtual machine... it might or might not work. Boot Camp just isn't finding the resources it needs on the copy you have - try Parallels and if that doesn't work just purchase a retail (or student discounted) version.

You'll have to purchase another copy of the OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard' disc, because that disc is the only source of Boot Camp 3.0 drivers.

HELP! Where do I get the software development kit 1.3 for windows 98? I got this java book and it tells me "http://java.sun.com". I guess it expects me to find it myself. I aint no good at finding stuff on the internet. Can someone give me like the exact address to download it or something? (Also, it wants me to get the java software development kit installation instructions and documentation... I have no idea what all that stuff is, or where to find it. I'm completely lost... Can someone tell me where to get that stuff?)

From java.sun.com, you can click on "Downloads" at the left
Then, you click on "java 2 platform, standard edition"
Then, you can click on "J2SE 1.4.1"
This leads to a page with the URL http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/download.html (you could use this URL wight now, in fact)
That page has a table.. look for the row entitled "Windows (all languages, including English)", and in the column headed "SDK", you'll see a link "DOWNLOAD". Click on it (make sure you click on the right one!)
You will then have to read the terms and conditions, and at the bottom, click the button labeled "ACCEPT"
This will show a page with a link "Download j2sdk-1_4_1-windows-i586.exe"
You click on that link, and the download will start. The file you are downloading is the installer for the J2sdk version 1.4.1

Advanced Network: Proxy Settings, I uncheck "Auto Proxy detection" and make sure you have the interface you use selected and none others.
"Go into System Preferences - Network - Advanced - Proxies Uncheck "Auto Proxy Discovery", click OK, Apply"
After Unchecking "Auto Proxy Discovery" I also had to Uncheck "Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV)" and then Restart Boot Camp Assistant.
odiggy's comment and tried restarting Boot Camp Assistant. That did the trick, even though the Auto Proxy Discovery checkbox ended up the same as it started. Windows support software is now downloading... if you're downloading to an external drive make sure there's a least 1 GB of free space because the WindowsSupport folder is around 700 MB and presumably will grow with time.

Also, Change Domain Name Servers to OpenDNS IP address servers - that should be at the router firewall rather than the OS but may be in both for some people. You may be using the defaults your ISP uses, save those if you want, and try these:

Install PIXMA MG5320 on my second computor with windows 8 software/ .printer drive already in use.

I installed the printer on my wifes computor without and issues. Now I am attempting to install it on my computor. I am getting blocked in the installation point where you select all the software needed . when i hit ok it goes into the install mode but a window pops up saying printer driver is already in use. I never had a printer associated with this computor ...thisis the first. what do I do?

The reason this is occurring is because the driver bundled with Windows 8 is already installed on your computer. This happened automatically when the printer was connected to your computer through a USB cable. The installation does not overwrite this. All you need to do is uninstall the bundled driver and then this will install correctly. Please perform the following to do this:
1. On your keyboard, hold the windows key and press " X ".
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Select Devices and Printers. The Devices and Printers window opens.
4. Right click the PIXMA MG5320, then click Remove or Delete.
5. Confirm deletion.
6. Disconnect the USB cable if connected.
7. Reinstall with the disc that came with the printer.

Problems downloading windows support software

Funny, I was doing a search for this problem was give this window to start a new discussion. Is this a hint?
Anyway, I'm installing Boot Camp on my MacBook Pro running 10.8.2. Everytime I get to place where it's downloading the windows support software is stalls on me and I can't tell if it's going really slowly or has simply stopped completely. My internet speed is fast enough and Boot Camp is the only application running (not counting Safari to send this inquiry). Am I missing something here or is this a several hour download even with 6Mb of bandwidth?

Why am I getting a blue screen during windows support software installation?

After intalling windows 7 x64 (using boot camp 5.1), when I come to install windows support software to set up apple drivers for windows to run on my MacBook pro (late 2013), after installing a good number of drivers, I get suddenly a blue screen!....
What can I do, once windows is not strting up? It started well, but wth no proper drivers. Thanks.

I guess the first thing I would do would be to boot up using the original installation DVD and correct the permissions. That may not be the problem at all, it could be an incomplete upgrade install but at least you would know it isn't a permissions problem. I'd also run or verify the hard disk using this method.
How is it done? Turn machine on. Insert DVD 1 of the Install Disks, restart the machine, hold down the Command and the C keys (that tells the machine to look to the Rom drive and boot from it). Once it is up (will take a long minute or so...) go up to the top left where the install menu buttons are listed, look for the disk utility and run it. Tell it to verify and repair the disk and repair the permissions. Once done, quit the Disk Utility and select the restart option. Wait to see if your original desktop comes back.
If not, then you'll need to either "back out" the upgrade you installed or install your backup. If you don't have a backup you'll probably have to re-install OS X all over again (and probably lose all your previous data, apps, etc.). Let's hope it clears up first before you have to re-install.

Im trying to run windows 7 through bootcamp, but everytime i get to the part where you download the Windows support software it takes forever idk if it has frozen or if the file is just that big... Any other suggestions??

hi i just installed my windows 8 using bootcamp as well.
at first i tot it hang so i keep cancel and restart again. it still hang.
untill i leave it for hours and it successful finish the run.
Actually wat u are seeing is correct. it it still runnning at background just that it is not moving.
after u installed windows, u will have some keyboard and mouse issue. to solved tis issue.
go to btm right corner or ur windows and u can find ur bootcamp application there, click on it
then chose boot camp control. do ur keyboard and mouse setup over there and use it like normal window.
for my case. i have graphic card issue while playing with dota2. i went to update my graphic card and solve the issue.

I know that my Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is missing.When i try to reinstall it in the device manager it says that one of the installers is unable to reinstall the software. You need to completely uninstall iTunes from your computer and then download and install it again.

Now i have another problem.
I don't know how to install windows support software that i downloaded in Boot Camp and saved on my Mac.
The instruction says:

Do i need restart in windows to install it, or not?

I don't have it on Windows and can't find it on my Mac?

It's simple. If you have downloaded Windows support software, probably Boot Camp Assistant asked you before downloading it where to store them (on a DVD or USB drive), so you just have to insert the USB drive or DVD with Windows support software, start into Windows and install the Boot Camp drivers.
You should see a window asking you what to do with the DVD or USB drive after inserting it on Windows, so select the option to open the .exe files and follow the steps to install Windows support software. If not, open Windows Explorer or go to Start menu > Computer, and right-click the DVD or USB drive with Windows support software to install it

In 15 minutes you have posted this misleading information 9 times. Stop it. Windows 7 has a full set of drivers available via Boot Camp and that is what the OP should use.
