  • Where are the Adobe PDF Presets stored?

I am doing some video lessons and would like to clean up the Adobe PDF Presets menu in the Export as PDF dialog box.
    Where are they stored?
I've looked through the many folders on my machine called "Presets" but can't find them.

Here's a great opportunity to file a feature request. In InDesign CS5.5, Preferences > File Handling displays the location of recovery files, and offers users the option to choose a custom location. It would be a great logical step to make the locations of the various presets and other stored items available and also offer users the option to customize. Care to file a request in the usual place - Adobe Feature Request or Bug Report form.
As preferences, these details are out of the way, yet are much easier to find than searching through a disk's file system.

  • Where is my Adobe PDF Pack membership

    Hi Jeff,
I followed your instructions and went to My products--no serial number listed.  I did however get to print my invoice and there are several different numbers on it but none of them say serial number.  Is it possible for them to send it to me in my e-mail. I will watch for it this time. I may have deleted it without reading it thoroughly thinking it was an advertisement.  Thank you for your assistance.  Lorraine

  • Printer ADOBE PDF 9.0 - page orientation

After uninstalling Adobe Acrobat 8 it occures that the remained Acrobat 9 messages on start to need to fix some missing components. I clicked okay/yes.
However, now I can't print to ADOBE PDF 9.0 in landscape orientation. All pages come out turned to portrait format. I used to use settings created in InDesign successfully, there is no page format setting at all (compared to Distiller settings). I tried  various settings and printed from various applications.
Then I deletetd the printer ADOBE PDF 9.0 and created it new. (in use now: Adobe PDF 3018.101; URL: pdf900://distiller).
After some other trials now it prints fine from some but still turned around from other applications.
What can I do, to get printed PDFs in selected page orientation only?
Any hints appretiated! Thank you, - thomas

Of cause I do set up the page to landscape before printing. In all applications it's the same procedure: usual visually by clicking on a portrait or landscape page icon, whereas in some applications the shown measurement next to the print preview icon does not change it does in others (from 21 cm x 29,7 cm to 29,7 cm x 21 cm). That's sort of just GUI I guess, not my print issues origin.
However, this issue aperas to came with uninstalling Acrobat 8. Assumly some part got lost/corrupt (and made Acrobat 9 complain about missing components on start) - but which indeed? And how to replace?
I'd like to avoid a reinstall for the moment, cause I remeber this behave in earlier, ancient times with Updates from version 5, 6 or 7. Pity, I can't remember how I solved it, may be I did not at all until version 8, don't know anymore. But I do remember I did quite a lot of reinstalls without success in this print with ADOBE PDF paper orientation issue.

  • Error with "Save as Adobe PDF" in Word 2008

I have Word 2008 12.2.5 on Snow Leopard 10.6.4.  I just upgraded all in one go from Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 to 9.3.3. I went to try out the "Save as Adobe PDF" function, and every time I get an error popup that says "An error occurred while saving the PDF file". The popup includes the OS X "Automator" icon of a robot holding a pipe(?).
First there is a dialog box where I set Adobe PDF Settings: Standard and After PDF Creation: Nothing. I click Continue and a file dialog is next where I choose the output filename, where I click Save, then the error box appears.
    Help?
    Thanks.

The Save As PDF feature in Office2008 Call up a PDF  Creator similar to the AdobePDF Print Driver. whch OX.6 can't use.
To create Pdf you have to use method used:
    http://indesignsecrets.com/acrobats-adobe-pdf-printer-replaced-in-snow-leopard.php
Not before you attempt to use this method if  Rossetta is not installed. pop in your Systems DVD and install Rosetta. Then follow directions to install the Adobe Quality PDF Automator Script which will show up in the Print Menu. Click on Print > then click PDF. Then Click on Adobe quality PDF.  AS for setting up Job options and other details Supposedly your suppose to  have access. But I have no idea.
First thing Rosetta should be installed out of the box. and Second Adobe should install this Script from their installer. So their should be no intervention from the user. it should just work. Early report when OSX.6 first came out almost no one was able to get this to work. and I see periodic reports that people still can't get it tork and they have to to resort to saving as .ps files then droping on distiller.
    Good luck.

  • Adobe PDF Pack Server Location?

I have read on this forum through other questions/answers that if you would like to combine PDFs or save a PDF to Word/Excel etc., the PDF Pack Software uploads your original data to a server located somewhere and then the new document (I presume) is downloaded back to my computer from the server.
    My questions are:-
If I am in the UK, where is the Adobe PDF Pack server located? (Inside the EEC Safe Harbour Data Area?)
What happens to my original file data that was "uploaded" to Adobe PDF Pack?
What copies of the newly produced PDF from the PDF Pack service are retained by Adobe?
    Many Thanks - Mark

  • Where is Adobe PDF Toolbar in Firefox 12?

I'm running Adobe Acrobat Pro V9.5.1. Firefox is V12. I'm a recent convert to Firefox.
There is NO Adobe PDF Toolbar available from the Firebox toolbar menu. However, there IS a plugin that is enabled: Adobe Acrobat 9.5.1.283.
I went into the installation application for Acrobat and Firefox was nowhere to be found among the Acrobat PDFoptions where you can choose "one-click creation of an Adobe PDF from popular applications". Among the selections were MS Office, MS Visio, MS Publisher, MS Internet Explorer, Lotus Notes, etc. NO Firefox.
My Acrobat is up to date.
The Adobe PDF Toolbar has always been available to me on Internet Explorer - for years now!
Does this mean there is no toolbar availabe for Acrobat Pro? I can do the workarounds others have suggested, but the toolbar is faster and offers more (at least in IE).
Does anyone have any up to date answers?

    Hey guys, finally solved this!
Using:  Firefox version 17.0.1 and Adobe Acrobat X Pro (version 10.1.4)
I was looking for the Convert to PDF toolbar similar to IE and it wasn't visible in
Firefox.  Here are the steps to make it visible:
    a. First in Firefox make sure to enable the Adobe Acrobat Extension:
Tools ==> Add Ons  ==> Extensions ==> Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF 1.2  ==> Enable
    b. Add the Converter into the Firefox Toolbar:
View ==> Toolbars  ==> Customize  ==> Drag the Convert icon to the Adobe Toolbar
There it is.  The Convert To PDF now appears in the Firefox toolbar:  (see graphic below):

  • Where do I find the Adobe pdf 9.0 printer description file and how do I install it?

Where do I find the Adobe pdf 9.0 printer description file and how do I install it? Operating system is Windows 7 and I have Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 installed. Adobe Acrobat X Pro just updated to version 10.1.8

    Hi. Thanks for the replyl
I'm in prepress, working mainly with Quark XPress for advertising files and with Word, Photoshop, everything, for many years. My older computer is the workhorse with Quark 6.5 and CS4 and OSX 10.4.11. Everything is set up for me to produce PDF x1a files by printing .ps files from Quark and Word, and InDesign.
My newer computer, OSX 10.9.4, must now be used to a greater extent. So I have Quark 9 and 10 and now Creative Suite for the Cloud. But I don't have any Adobe PDF printer which I select when I print .ps files and place into my Distiller Watched Folder. I by pass selecting the Adobe PDF printer in Word and just print straight to .ps. The .ps file just sits in the Watched Folder and no longer flows into Distiller, processed and out. Is this the way of the future? I just want a smooth, fast flow for PDF's. I want them to be PDF x1a compliant for hi-quality printing.
Thought you might help to give me info as to how one uses Distiller (or not) with the new operating system and latest programs. Can't seem to find any info as of yet by searching the Adobe FAQ's and the Internet in general.
    Thanks alot.

  • Firefox10 was unable to invoke adobe pdf print preview where as Firefox 3 was able to do this.

Firefox10 was unable to invoke adober pdf print preview where as Firefox 3 was able to do this.
embed pdf document or use iframe
Firefox successfully loads the PDF into the iFrame.
    What doesn't happen is printing.

Also check this out. Firefox10 was able to display the pdf document perfectly.
Now goto Firefox options and click print which invokes the printer print view and NOT the Adobe print view.
Also if you click the print preview a blank page is shown.

  • Where is the sign-in box for Adobe PDF Pack?

My plan is an Adobe pdf pack. I used to be able to open a pdf, sign into my account and then convert, sign, etc. Now I cannot see the sign in option at all. I just got a new hard drive and installed Microsoft office 2010. Any suggestions?

Sign-in where: in Adobe Reader, or on the PDF Pack website?
On Adobe Reader there is no sign-in option; you just provide your Adobe ID & password in the Preferences (Adobe Online Services) panel.

Where on the Adobe website can I find a link for a free PDF to text converter?

I am trying to find a link to a free Adobe 'PDF to text' converter that I can refer users of my website to.
This is for users who's screen reader software is not compatible with Adobe Reader.
Up until last week I was refering my users to the following webpage, but now that link no longer works as the tool must have been moved.  I am just trying to find the new location:

Be sure Safari does not have the Block Pop-Up Windows preference set.
Where I work now there are several unencrypted VLANs that require authentication, and Safari promptly pops up a window for me to register every time.
