Where is OnLocation?

I can't find OnLocation. Is it installed with Premiere Pro CS3, or separately? Documentation says it is on the installation disc, but I have the downloaded version, and there is no option in Setup to select OnLocation. I don't see it separately available on the Adobe website. If it is embedded in PP, how do I access it?
Neil

It's installed separately; usually (if I'm not mistaken) included on a separate disc.

  • NO COLOR in Field Monitor of Adobe OnLocation

    CONFIGURATION:
OnLocation CS3 (Trial), with XP Home SP2, Dell Dimention 4400, and NVidia AGP GeForce 5200 128MB video card, and 21" Optiquest Q110 monitor.
Video card supports 2 monitors analog (DB15) and DVI. In my configuration only analog output and single monitor is connected. There is also standard FireWire 1394 port where camera is connected. All works fine...
    THE PROBLEM:
... except BARS and live feed image from camera, are always displayed in BLACK and WHITE (no color) but BLUE BARD are displayed in BLUE shades cirrectly. Monitor was callibrated and adjusted properly with NVidia settings (contrast, brightness, gamma, etc.) and all other applications are displayed in COLOR properly.
    NOTES:
I understand that Field Monitor use overlay to display images, it should work OK as other video applications using overlay display work properly (e.g. Windows Media Player).
    QUESTION:
What are technical reguirements for video (cards/monitors) to work properly with OnLocation as I couldn't find ANY information on Adobe website or anywhere else. Or, if anybody had similar problem and would like to share solution I would appreciate.

All turned out OK. It was just wrong setting for Field Monitor.
Everything works properly and live feed is now in full COLOR.

  • Problem with ONlocation  CS 5.5

I  have  been using   Adobe production premium CS5 and  now CS5.5 for   1.5 years -  on of the best  features is   th e  workflow with  story thru onlocation to  premiere althought I  am  finding onlocation  not  to  be  a stable program somertimes.
My  recent issue is after  recording a shoot and  time stamping shots in  OL then importing with  automatch ( all works fine thru this  point) -  however if I  close the  OL file and re-open - #1 the  clips are not longer matched and I need to  re-match and   when this occurs all the meta-data  disappears???
If  I  open the  OL file  prior to matching - the  metadata is  right there where we  added it -  when I match the clips  it is still there.  I I import into Premiere via the media browsser and  OL project file link - the metadata does not transfer?  This problem is the same  using either a  PSC or MAC with the repsective  CS5.5  Prod Premium suite.
Whe nI was using  CS5 I did not  have this  issue that I  cna  rememebr?  Any insights?

You will need to install in the language which you purchased.  Did you purchase an English version of Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium?  If so you can follow the Order product | Platform, language swap - Order product | Platform, language swap to order your desired language.

  • Problem with Onlocation crashing - please help!

Hi there - I am having a problem with OnLocation 5.5 crashing when I try to record in HDV. It works OK if I record in DV format. I want to be able to record to tape and Onlocation simultaneously - is it possible to do this when shooting in DV? Does anyone have any fixes for shooting using Onlocation and HDV?

This is most likely the result of a bug where OnLocation sees another video device like a webcam as a supported camera. The workaround is to disable that other device or program. There are numerous forum threads on this issue. Here's one: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3895552#3895552

  • Onlocation can't connect to my camera

I have a new Averatec Laptop with built firewire port, Vista 64, CS4. Everything worked fine until I installed a Firewire PC express card for an external hard drive. I ended up uninstalling and returning the card because it couldn't power my hard drive. After that when I plug my Sony Z1u minidv camcorder, Windows dialog box opens asking for a driver and Onlocation can't connect to the camera. Where do I get this driver? I tried looking at my laptop manucature site for chipset/firewire driver but couldn't find one, do I need to reinstall CS4 or get the camera driver from Sony?

I figured it out. The software from the Firewire PC-e card was still installed and was interferring with Onlocation. After the card utility program and driver were uninstalled Onlocation could connect with the camera.

  • OnLocation and PPro CS3 - DVCPROHD settings

I've just finished an extensive studio interview shoot capturing 1080p25  with my HVX200 and OnLocation CS3.
The capture worked fine and I can play the clips back without fault,  in OL and various other media players.
However, I just cannot set-up Ppro (CS3) to edit the footage  natively (without the red render bar in the timeline). Playback is  choppy as a result.
I've tried every combination of preset and custom settings I can  think of and still no joy. OL documentation even has a section on how to  set-up your project but that has the same result. I wish that Premiere  had the functionality of FCP where it will conform the project settings  around a clip that you import. At the moment it's a matter of trying  many combinations of settings in the hope one will work.
At the moment I'm having to use a P2 preset in Ppro, export each  clip from the timeline as a P2 export and then bring them back into a P2  project and finally edit them. Very time consuming, 2 hours per 30  minute clip, of which I have about 20 (I'm currently on number 5). I  find it hard to believe that two products from the same Suite are so  hard to work with together.
I'm guessing it has something to do with CODECs but that's an area  I'm pretty foggy on.
If anyone could provide some help, it would be greatly, greatly  appreciated. I'm happy to email smeone a small fragment of a clip if  that would help.
    Many thanks.

...is not so good - bad colours. In Microsoft DV Avi-DV Pal compression. D1/DV PAL Wide is pixelate. I have click the de-interlace so it is not because of that. I have no problem to use encore it the file i send is compressed in those settings i mention before. I have no problems in compressing the file with those settings at all, like i have when i want to transfor the video in avi uncompressed.

  • OnLocation for Recording Audio only

I have been using OnLocation to record graduation at a University. My cameras and the sound board are well over a football field away so I have been recording the audio on a laptop and capturing video with cameras.
I can't find a way for OnLocation to accept the "Line-in" jack as an input. Is this possible?

Well, OK, but what do you consider "not too expensive"?
FWIW, FW400 drives are cheaper than FW800 drives. But the cost of the adapter cable you'll need might offset the savings.
Oh, and like, where do you live? "South" of what? South Bronx? South Africa? Can't make any recommendations about where to buy stuff just going by, er, "South".

  • Onlocation and mini DV

so i was wondering...I am going to be filming next week using a cannon, and i want to use both onlocation and mini dv from the same camera.  Will i be able to record both onlocation and mini dv (just in case something goes wrong i want the mini DV as backup)?

The "DVR Slave to" command dates back a couple of versions. Since CS4, this behavior has been controlled by the Remote Control Toggle button, which is among the transport controls on the Field Monitor. Its icon is an arrow pointing to a red "Record" circle. In CS5, it's at the far right of the bottom row of buttons. When Remote Control is enabled (button is "down"), OnLocation starts and stops recording with the camera (and can also be operated locally). When the feature is disabled, starting and stopping recording on the camera has no effect on OnLocation.
Keep in mind that there may be cases where you want to turn this feature on and off at various points during a given shoot. With a very long recording, for example, you might want OL to start recording in response to the camera, but when the time comes to change the tape you want OL to continue recording. In this case, you'd start with the feature turned on but then disable it before changing tapes.

  • OnLocation and Panasonic HDC-SD909

I have some issues to import AVCHD form the Panasonic HDC-SD909 into OnLocation CS5.5.
I have copied the whole AVCHD structure from the memory card to my hard disk. If there are less than 98 clips all are shown in the media browser when I set "Shown As" AVCHD (I'll hope "Shown As" it's correct, I'll work with the German version). If there are more than 98 clips it will be shown only the clips 99 to xx.
At the end of the last year I have contacted the Adobe support, but they can't help me. They said to me to technicans can simulate this issue is because of my camera.
Does anybody with the SD909 has the same problem? Is there any solution for this issue?
    Regards from Germany

perhaps try posting in the right forum?

  • OnLocation..this might help

CS4 (some bundled products) will allow OnLocation to install on your portable or portables for extra cameras..let me know on the extra camera please....I wish I could tell you exactly where to look but I lost the spot...
so much info do little time.....
On some other Adobe apps you cannot have them running at the same time on 2 platforms... like CS4 Master Collection so you cannot have the program running on your desk top ..turn off (close) Adobe Apps on your desktop then try the laptop install.
Both my CS4 installs went really well once this was discovered in the ether....
    Good Luck Dave

I'm still happy with my AT&T iphone. Never had any dropped calls, Zero dropped calls. I do live in an area with full bars everywhere so there is no need for me to make the switch. I also like surf and talk, so that I will never give away as well. It may come handy sometimes when you really need it.

  • Load Onlocation to a separate PC

Does anyone know when you purchase Adobe's Production Premium CS5 if you can load onlocation to a separate PC while load the rest to a different PC?  The idea is to use OL on a laptop during the filming & calibration process.  And then use the other tools to edit where a much more powerful desktop is used for the heavy work.
Has anyone done this?  Is it possible under the way it is licensed?

I have a similar question. I had the CS4 trial and all the programmes (Pr, AE, OL) were lumped together with no choice on selecting individual programmes (except Acrobat). I've just bought and about to load the CS5 Master Collection later today and wonder how do you load just OL separately? Does this mean there is a choice over which programmes you can load and where?

    really?
    hope this helps someone.

There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

  • What is difference between sy-index and sy-tabix and where both are using ?

what is difference between sy-index and sy-tabix and where both are using ?

    hi nagaraju
sy-tabix is in Internal table, current line index. So it can only be used while looping at the internal table.
sy-index is in Loops, number of current pass. This you can use in other loop statements also (like do-enddo loop, while-endwhile)
    SY-INDEX is a counter for following loops: do...enddo, while..endwhile
SY-TABIX is a counter for LOOP...ENDLOOP, READ TABLE...
Here is an example from which you can understand the difference between sy-tabix and sy-index.
Itab is an internal table with the following data in it.
    id Name
    198 XYZ
    475 ABC
    545 PQR.
loop at itab where id > 300.
    write :/ itab-id, itab-name , sy-tabix, sy-index.
    endloop.
    My output will be :
    475 ABC 2 1
    545 PQR 3 2
Sy-tabix is the index of the record in internal table.
sy-index gives the no of times of loop passes.
So, for the first record in the output (475 ABC), 2 is the index of the record in internal table and as it is first time loop pass occured, sy-index value is 1.

  • Is null and regular value in where ($variable)

is there any polibility to create select depend on value in where ?
select count(x) where y = $variablebut if variable is NULLit doesn't work cause must be IS NULL or IS NOT
select count(x) where y is $variableIs there any posibility to make it working with null and regular variable?

    try:
    select count(x) from <yourtable> where nvl(y,<not_possible_value>) = nvl($variable,<not_possible_value>);where <not_possible_value> is a value that is not possible for column y.
E.g. if y always is a positive number you could use the value -1.

  • How do i use my web cam, where do i go to, to get started

Can't figure out where to go to be able to use my web cam. Its not in my devices and printers area.

Firstly, uninstall the current version of Cyberlink Youcam and re-install it.
To Uninstall: Click Start >> type Programs and Features in search and select it from the list >> In there, select Cyberlink Youcam and uninstall it.
Once done, try using webcam with Skype or any other messenger you may have, or else re-install Youcam.
If the above does not work, do a System Restore to a previous working date when the webcam worked.
System Restore: Click Start >> type System Restore in search and select it any perform on-screen instructions to restore the notebook to a previous working date.
If none of the above work, open Device Manager, check if you have 'HP Webcam' listed under Imaging Devices category.
You would find the Product Number on the sticker in the battery compartment, will be similar to XT594PA#ABA.
