Where is option to "disconnect wifi clients" from personal hotspot?

According to this Apple Knowledge Base article, there should be an option in Settings > Wifi to "disconnect wifi clients" who are connected to the iPhone via personal hotspot: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4517
I do not see that in the Settings. I am on an iPhone 4, iOS 5.01, AT&T. Does anyone else see this? Was it removed in an iOS update? The KB article says it was updated December 14, 2011, so it should be pretty current.

I too was looking for it and it's. It in my iPhone 4 AT&T 5.0.1 Perhaps it's not in this firmware update, in another location or apple decided to axe this option.
Perhaps they reason that if you're going to disconnect all users, and leaving wifi sharing on was redundant as the wifi will cease to hotspot after 90 seconds anyways, it probably saves battery life... I dunno all I can think of.

Hello All,
To anyone with the same problem described above, on THEIR iPad (if it is running iOS 7.0.2):
Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; DELETE your *******@btinternet.com e-mail account, that you originally set up either using 'Other', or the 'BT' option which I am sure was in the list previous to the iOS 7 update.
Then ADD a NEW account choosing YAHOO from the list of options. DO NOT USE 'OTHER'.
Enter the correct details just as you (almost certainly) had already done in your previous attempts using 'other'.
When you see the 'verifying......' and 'the blue ticks' you should be able to exit settings and open your mail app and then receive all your 'old' e-mails again, AND be able to SEND as well.
All my 'old' e-mails, were NOT found in the 'old e-mail' folder though. THEY are still in my inbox.
So this fix worked for me.
After I deleted my account from 'OTHER' and put it in Yahoo, I like other people also ended up with more folders.
I hope this works for you on YOUR Apple devices.

Sounds like an odd question but my phone will connect to BT Openzone so I want to share that with my iPad via personal hotspot. I could use 3G but then it comes off my data allowance and I don't want to have to buy a separate SIM for my iPad if I can avoid it. I can swap my sim from my phone, but that's a pain!

No, unfortunately Personal Hotspot will only use your 3G plan.

Not able to connect wifi from personal hotspot

Reboot your phone. Hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button until the apple logo pops up and if that doesn't work then reset network setting (general>reset) and then another thing is to go to other and add it from there

IPad can't find ANY wifi networks or personal hotspot each time I return to my home network

I have an iPad 2 as well as iPad 4, iPhone 4 and Macbook Pro. Each of these connect fine to my home network, however my iPad 2 suddenly couldn't find any networks or my iPhone 4 personal hotspot, bluetooth or wifi.
I went to Singapore and hey presto, it could find and connect to wifi networks with ease.
Then I came home to Australia, couldn't find any networks or personal hotspots again. Went to work, same issue, couldn't find the network at work. So took it to the Apple Genius Bar and it worked automatically again without changing any settings. Reset to factory settings just incase this somehow helped getting it home.
Took it home, worked fine. Recovered from a previous backup and still worked fine.
Brought my ipad into work yesterday, couldn't find my personal hotspot or wifi networks. Took it home, can't find any networks. Reset my modem and it still can't find any networks (or my personal hotspot) even though all other devices automatically connect.
Any suggestions? I suspect when I take it to Japan next week it will probably work fine, then I'll come home and it probably won't. Is it some sort of software issue? Why would it stop working every time I take it out of my home network and bring it back?
I have all the latest updates.

Does the ipad have any management software put on by your workplace ? If so this my be somehow disabling your wifi. The other thing it may be is the wifi channel your wifi is broadcast on but as it happening to you with a lot of access points it prob isn't this it may be a hardware issue, you could take it To an apple store and if it works there try connecting it to your phone. You could also try this, go to general > one of the last options (between VPN and reset) is profiles (This only shows up if u have profiles installed) if you have profiles go into it and delete the profiles then restart. this may help. IPad 2 WiFi + iPhone 4 Personal Hotspot

I'm noticing that with relatively high network speed and reliability; i'm frequently having SIGNIFICANT trouble downloading Apps in the App Store with my connection. (My connection seems to suddnely slow way down whenever I connect to the App Store through my iphone 4's tether).
I have AT&T and I'm using hte official Personal Hotspot app in 4.3.2. Websurfing and email are fine. Magazines are "tolerable" but downloading apps? Problem. Anyone else having this issue? I've filed one customer complaint already with AT&T for the incredibly slow speeds I've been experiencing from the main location I have to use the 3G Data (my office, which normally has had very good data throughput rates). I'm consistently clocking 0.17/down and 1.5 up; which seems very lopsided.

Why the iPad 2 wifi+3G doesn't have Personal Hotspot? I cannot find anyway to share my Cellular Data as Personal Hotspot. Is the personal hotspot hardware or software related? I know other people do it by Jailbreaking the iPad. But, I don't want to do that. If they can use Personal Hotspot in Jailbreaking mode Apple should be able to activate it with a new software release or update. I've been waiting for that since the iOS 4.x release. Till now nothing has be done. Why Apple would continue to ignore all the customer requests about this matter?

Change the WiFi SSID on Personal Hotspot

Is is possible to change the SSID of the WiFI personal Hotspot to be something other than my phones name? I don't especially like broadcasting my name around for random people to see. I know i can change the phone name, but I'd rather not change that, and just have an independent SSID name

It is a bit rediculous that Phone's name is actually a name of the SSID I have the same SSID at home, at work and for all of my mobile devices. The passwords are the same so all my friends can use them without adding a one more entry into the list of hotspots. Do I need to change my SSID for all devices to ****'s iPhone or should I take stupid phone's name instead? It is a rhetorical question.
For me it is just a marketing so everyone see "***'s iPhone" SSID when is searching for the Wi-Fi hotspot. Many of customers even not recognized that their names ***** have been silvently turned into "****'s iPhone"
Hope that Apple will resolve this later in the next FW releases.

setKeepAlive(true) method set socket to wait for 2 hour it is not possible to set this for smaller time say 1 minute. and all of u think it is a best one for detecting the client is not connected.
i m devloping a chat system like messenger stand alone application. now if net connection down client can't do activity.when connection is up client try to login again but it wil detect alredy logged in coz socket is not closed by the client.......

You need to set up LAN, local IP addresses (192.168.1.x or alike). A corporate proxy server should forwards ALL requests to a free anonymous proxy server (you need to have skills and rights of a system administrator in order to do that). It's impossible to connect to the Internet bypassing a corporate proxy, as long as external IP address is not assigned to local machines. It's also impossible to scan local machine's settings: even if Java/ActiveX applets detects and gives out your local IP address (192.168.1.x) to the web server, your anonymity will remain unbroken. So, basically, you can rate this option as 100% anonymity.
When he/she is behind a Lan with a wingate or corporate proxy its imposible to track the real ip with Java & Javascript.
Also if he/she used proxies and afirewall its also imposible to track him/her
with Java & Javascript.

Can I direct wifi clients from my Express (extending my network) to my Extreme?

I am currently using an Airport Express to extend my Airport Extreme's network, and I want to know if I can dictate whether or not a device connects to the Extreme or the Express? The reason is that I only need the Express to handle my Apple TV and my Macbook when I'm in my bed room. My problem is that I have the express set up in the hallway, while my Extreme is in my office, and this is causing many more of my devices to connect to the Express instead of the Extreme. My hope is that I'll be able to alieviate some of the strain on my express and push the majority of my traffic back to the extreme.

As far as I know you can't. Even if you restore the iPad 2 from the backup of the iPod Touch, the passwords will not restore. You can only restore the password from the backup if you are restoring to the same device again - not from one device to another.
Check out an app called iPhone Extractor and the thread I referenced below. I did read of one user that was able to recover his passcode for his iPad using this app.

i have two client machines ( client A ,client B) and a server.
i create a interface for server. it will run into the server. using this interface administrator can monitor client activities.
i want to write a program for disconnect particular client from the main rmi server. but other client should run with out any problem.
how can i do it?

If you mean to disconnect a client after it has called the main server, you don't have to do anything, the connections are dropped after 15 seconds.
If you want to prevent one of the clients from ever connecting to the main server, you can do that either with custom code in the server that checks RemoteServer.getClientHost(), or by excluding that host from the hosts permitted by SocketPermission 'accept' in your security .policy file, assuming you are running a SecurityManager at the server.

Kicking out a client from rmi server

the client is an applet.
I treid calling a method containning System.exit(0)
from the server on to the client but it throws a
java.securtiy .. exception?

I would like to know if there is a simple way to disconnect Tuxedo clients from
a Tuxedo server (perhaps in tmadmin??). My preference is to be able to disconnect
a tuxedo client based on the user that is logged in (eg, the username listed when
a 'pclt' command is run in tmadmin).
I'm using version 7.1 of Tuxedo.
Any help appreciated.

You can do this at runtime. You can either write a program that calls the MIB, or
use a ud32 script. You'll need to know the client ID and some other key fields.
If you get stuck, post another message and we'll see if someone can help you a
little more.

Disconnect in what way?
The DHCP standard basically gives the client a lease on the IP configuration. As far as it knows, that lease is good for as long as the TTL says. You can control the TTL used so that longer or shorter leases are offered as needed (e.g. 1 hour, 1 day, 2 weeks, etc.), but once that lease is accepted you can't easily revoke it.
